Got too busy

Nice

As we know aamikam released mikshift-g 1.5. One Of the things added is support for more quick setting shortcuts in the notification bar. Since this addition I'm just going to go out on a guess and guess that flashing this theme over 1.5 will cause the status bar to f/c anyone can try it and report to me but I think I'm pretty sure. Ill flash soon and test sometime in the near future and make revisions from there if I need to
Btw: Great Update aamikam and strapped

is it ok to flash this over Supreme Sense V4 ?

It is not... BUT if you keep checking back Christmas may come sooner than usual with lots of extra goodies. He might give you blue...without giving you the blues

EpicBlues has finally been updated
(v1.2)
What changed?
It now works on SS v4 and below
New themed rosie
new themed 3.0 (3D) Widgets
New lockring
a few other little changes here and there
Consumes a little less RAM

installed this blue baby and it looked great but..
i thought a theme didn't change things but the theme, i had to log into google and half of my programs were gone.
just wondering cause when i tried to load cm7 it got stuck at google sign on and kept rebooting.
wonder if i might have something else going on with my shift. .

Are you saying you wiped cache and dalvik then flashed this theme over Supreme Sense v4 and it deleted all your apps? Or are you flashing this on cm7?

Yea im wondering the same thing
First off you are only supposed to wipe cache and dalvik cache not data/factory reset. If you did the data wipe that could be your problem
Second- this isnt for cm7 (obviously) I think you were just comparing it to something that happened on cm7 but just want to make sure
I did test beforehand (running it now) and have not yet had one fc and all my apps are there.
Just let me know exactly what you did to flash

i wiped cache partition and data got wiped on first recovery screen
(your right ). i think i should have went into mounts and storage and
wiped/format cache there.
as for cm7, after a nand restore i did a full wipe and flashed cm7/with google
apk together and it booted to set up and when i enter my e-mail info it would
reboot and keep rebooting to the same spot.
i will re-flash blue again later and everything should be fine

(v1.3)
What changed?
Rosie colors now darker to match better
Rosie Dock over glow gone (too overpowering)
New Weather Clock (let me know your thoughts)

In case anyone was wondering this theme should already work fine with Supreme Sense v7 and below. shouldn't need an update like the rest of mine

EDIT: Oh and thank you btw.lol

As new themes, come to greet the mighty evo shift. there are some themes hat can't seem to keep up.
Epic Blues-has endured through the times of Supreme Sense and has proven itself a warrior, but alas the day comes where all things grow old.
As new warriors form and take Epic-Blues place, Epic-Blues will sit in retirement.
(for anybody who seriously doesn't get that it means that i will no longer be updating Epic-Blues as i am a very busy person, and have newer projects to take it's place)
I WILL LEAVE A COPY OF 1.3 UP BUT IT WILL ONLY WORK WITH SSV7
If anybody want to use any parts of this for there own personal creation or anything, just PM me

will this work on ss7.5?

[BASIC TIP] Keeping Your Phone Running Smoothly *Mods can you please move to General*

I don't believe Ive seen this mentioned anywhere yet, so I figured Id remind those who know, and inform the newbies who don't know.
Ive heard people who have applied various lag fixes complain that their phone slows down over time when opening apps. This "fix" i am about to mention is really easy and can help anyone not just those who have problems with an applied lag fix.
If you open Rom Manager and use Fix Permissions, wait for it to finish, then select Reboot to Recovery, and wipe Cache, and then go to Advanced Settings, and wipe dalvik cache, then reboot normally, your phone will hang at the Galaxy S bootscreen for a few minutes, it might take a while because it is rebuilding the dalvik cache, you should notice things running smoothly again and apps opening quicker.
Hope this helps anyone out there!
Does wiping those 2 cache's screw up installed apps? Where you have to download them all again?

No, wiping the caches shouldn't affect your installed apps.
And all the same, if you still worry about it, just run a nandroid backup before you wipe the caches, then if you run into any issues, just restore, or advanced-restore only your data partition.
cheers,
=)

So not a big deal cause I have replaced my update.zip with the clock work reboot update.zip and can reach clockwork still by "reinstalling packages" but I tried this fix and now can't reboot into recovery straight to clockwork through rom manager cause it says something to the effect of
E: can't reboot cause file /cache/update.zip missing
(bad)

Not exact but obviously there was a vital cached update.zip that was used in order to reboot directly into clockwork through rom manager.... Any idea on a fix? Think it would be unwise to just reflash clockwork through rom manager again to recache the file? Would anything else be effected like possibly overwriting my past nand recoveries? Thanks guys/gals for any help on this one.

yes, your missing the update.zip that unzipps itself to run clockwork. So yes flash the update.zip again through rom manager.
I just creates the update.zip file so it will not do any harm.

Thank you! Am trying this now and will post any impressions after.
EDIT: Immediately after re-booting, it definitely seems smoother and snappier - thanks again for this. I was wondering if I should do something like this, but didn't know what, because I'd flashed Eugene's Vibrant6 and a lag fix and then restored to my pre-flash nandroid. I thought the phone's performance was suffering after all that, and I definitely found this tip helpful, so really appreciated!

[Q] UPDATE

It may be a stupid question .. Do i have to check the 3 boxes
backup existing rom
wipe data and cache
wipe dalvik cache
every time i do a update ??
Thks
No you do not have to. I only check wipe dalvik which is also optional, but has resulted in better performance for most users here. If you check wipe data and cache then all of your apps will be deleted and you will have to reinstall.
I am also basing this on guessing that you are running CM7, please let me know if that isn't correct.

You don't "have to" do a backup but it is good to in case something is messed up. I think if you wipe data it wipes your existing apps so I don't do that. But yeah I would definitely wipe dalvik.

depends on what rom your are flashing. So with that, let me ask the question. What rom are you flashing? If you're using CM7, those roms can technically be flashed without wiping anything although you may want to wipe the dalvik cache just to play it safe. In doing so you won't need to re-install any apps or enter your account data over again. Some other roms automatically wipe for you. But like others have suggested, you should get into the practice of trying to wipe whenever you can, and use titanium to only restore your apps. Hope that helps.
This is completely irrelevant but I noticed that your signature says do not click thanks. I don't know if you have that there so people will click it, but I clicked it just to be an ass lol. Meant for above poster ^
Edit: Okay I get it now lol. I didn't really look at it, but I see it now so ignore that lol.
i know what im gonna post is not relevant to the actual topic, but since it says "update" as a title, ill post my little rant anyway..
for some odd reason my google search layout has been updated and i really dont like it..
it's on big fonts, compressed on the right side of the screen and there's a huge empty space on the left.. sooo ugly! ughh and really confusing to look at..
why is android's UI/design so mediocre? is google ever going to improve this area? even google gadgets is weak compared to yahoo widgets..
end of my rant thank you.. pfft

Is This the Way to Install Cyanogenmod?

This would probably be better placed in the HTC Inspire forum.
From my experience with other devices...
Yes, you are correct. You can also wipe data/cache/Dalvik after the install. It will delete files and crap, and leave CM7 intact.
Hope that helps.

From my understanding (and experience), wiping battery stats should happen on a full (100%) charge. This can be done at any time (not necessarily directly after install, but also later) without losing data or anything crucial. When I see that my phone's only charging to 98 or 99%, then I trickle charge it...get it to 100% THEN wipe battery stats.

Well, it's always better to know what you're talking about BEFORE giving others advice on the subject.
Lifehacker has an article about it here.
Here's another blog that says the same.
Maybe you should charge to 100% before wiping battery stats...

Yeah. What I was saying is that you can/should wipe the data/cache/Dalvik before using CM7.
I normally install a new ROM, THEN wipe that stuff. But you can wipe before the install, if you want. The point was that wiping those items won't affect the ROM you currently have installed.
Actually, I have also wiped before AND after an install...and not had any problems.
Just to clarify, when you install a new ROM your old one will go. So when you say that you want to remove 'virtuous unity' and install CM7...that's slightly redundant and almost incorrect. When you install CM7, VU will be gone, but you can't remove VU without installing CM7.
I was just pointing out that you can install CM7, and THEN wipe those items. But you can also wipe, then install. Wiping data/cache/Dalvik won't affect the ROM.
EDIT: I hope I wasn't offensive (didn't mean to be harsh) or confusing. I just found your wording a bit off, there.

hey sean... i got 2 problems after installing cm7 on my htc inspire. first, i cant find the andrtoid market or google apps anywhere. where is it and can i still install it?
2nd, the music is horrible when it ends. when i stop playing my mp3s, the first thing i hear is static. i noticed that DSP manager is installed which is an equalizer. i had it both enabled and disabled. either way the music is bad. is there a way to get rid of this static? its annoying.

Hmm. I really don't have an experience with your device. But I can offer a bit of general advice, and hope it helps.
Often, gApps are a separate install. Try searching in the thread where you found the ROM for gApps. Or check the CM homepage. They should be easy to find. Also, I'd do the same for the market. Google 'htc inspire market apk download' or something like that.
For the music problem, I dunno. Again, there may be a CM volume fix on the CM homepage somewhere. I have heard of a volume fix for CM.

No worries. Happy to help and glad you got it working.
Also, since you're new here (it doesn't really matter to me, but other people think alot of this) when someone helps you out, you can click the 'Thanks' button in the post. This saves space in forums and also, the person you thank ...well we all have a "Thanks Meter" and one gets added to it with every thanks-clicked.
So, like I said, it doesn't really mean much to me...but some dev's are very proud of their "thanks/posts" ratio, and will greatly appreciate the button click.
Best of luck!!

Migrating from Odex to Deodex

Things like contact linking are a pain to get right. There isn't a major problem with wiping; I was just asking to try to save myself some trouble if it was possible.
Wipe it is.
if your wanting to save yourself some trouble then always do a factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache. just a good way of making sure you always get a clean install. thats what i always do. and especially if im home on my wifi cuz all my apps and such download in about 3-4 mins and ur good.

You're not saving yourself trouble, You're creating potential head aches in the future by not wiping. I always do a full wipe and I only use TB to restore a few apps like games that I don't want to lose data from. It takes a little longer but you'll have far less issues in the end. I'm convinced the majority of the issues people have in these rom threads are from just flashing without wiping anything and/or using TB to restore all apps + data.

[Q] Randaom ICS wifi issue

I've tried several times to install the custom ICS ( [ROM] CM9 / LiquidSmooth / AOKP / Random ICS ), but WiFi is not coming on.
Any ideas how to resolve this?
Better yet, I am trying to flash the latest ICS ROM to my thunderbolt that is stable.
Seems most have some sort of reboot problem
So far I have tried all the Liquid Smooth - very nice ROMs but get random reboot
PS
From about phone, I see the following
Mode version: liquid mecha.mr3.100212
Build number: Liquid ICS v1.5MR3-JMOD
Radio: 2.00.00.0308, 0.02.00.0312r

No problem, hope you enjoy.
There's also a DeSensed version, called UnSense, which you likely saw as well.
See ya around that way.
Yes, I saw it and am trying to learn the differences between these 2 ROMs - so far better battery life stands out
Looks like I will be spending a lot more time there.
By the way, I was looking at your ext4 instructions (re-printed below for clarity - hope you don't mind)
Select Wipe/Format Menu Option
Wipe cache and dalvik
In the same Wipe/Format Menu: Wipe all partitions except SD
Now back in 4ext main menu: Select Tools
Select Format ext3 option I chose ext4 instead of ext3
Format Cache
Format Data
Format System
Now go back to the main menu and select the rom .zip to install
I chose ext4 instead of ext3 - could this be the cause of my random reboots using Liquid Smooth ICS ROM?
When I flash your ROM, I will choose to format ext3 - just to be sure (heh heh heh)

You can't use ext4 file system with nusense or unsense yet because the kernel doesn't support it. The random reboots with twisted ics could be related but I can't be sure since I haven't used it in a while.

I tried the nusense ROM and formatted using ext3
Am still getting WiFi to drop randomly
At times it turns itself off - when it does that I see "out of range'.
Google Market changed to "Google Play", and most of the times that process stops working and prevent me from installing my apps
WiFi turns off and prevent update from Google Play as well - since I have it setup to update over WiFi
Also, am getting lots of process is not responding messages like "process.com.android.phone is not responding"
I get these messages very frequently.
I may go back to using LiquidSmooth ICS8 mr3v1
Are you sure you formatted all the partitions in ext3? The only way I get those messages are when I don't format properly. Also, maybe try clearing cache and data in the phone app and as for the market trying clearing data and cache. It may not hurt to run a fix permissions in the recovery. Does you wifi problem only happen with ics roms?
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
If you do not format all partitions in ext3 format, you will have issues.
If you are not waiting until after the initial setup to sign into the market, that is likely an issue.
You need to wait until the home screen has set up and the device settles.
Then reboot, wait a minute and then sign into the market.
In my FAQ, you will see, the Market is the Play Store, no difference, just themed.
It has updated since the rom's last update and will do so when you sign in.
It's just an incremental update, but the theme goes away that I included for it an so does the custom icon and "Market" name.
If you do the above and still have issues, clearing the market (Play Store) app data and cache should sort you out.
If you are restoring data from another rom, then that is why you are also having force closes or wifi issues.
You cannot restore wifi data from an AOSP based rom that uses a GB kernel and expect that the same config will work well with the ICS rom and kernel.

Yes, I am sure I formatted the partition in ext3
I cleared data, davlik factory reset etc
The only thing I did not do was "fix permission"
After installing all my apps, I booted to recovery and did the swipe thing again
Yes, my WiFi issue is only with ICS ROM, specifically this one (during and after setup)
So far the LiquidSmooth ICS 1.5 MR3 is working the best for me.
No WiFi issues at all, but I still do get occasional reboots.
Did you wipe boot and system partitions before flashing the rom?

If you do not format all partitions in ext3 format, you will have issues.

Yep, I did that

If you are not waiting until after the initial setup to sign into the market, that is likely an issue.
You need to wait until the home screen has set up and the device settles.
Then reboot, wait a minute and then sign into the market.

I waited as instructed

In my FAQ, you will see, the Market is the Play Store, no difference, just themed.
It has updated since the rom's last update and will do so when you sign in.
It's just an incremental update, but the theme goes away that I included for it an so does the custom icon and "Market" name.
If you do the above and still have issues, clearing the market (Play Store) app data and cache should sort you out.

I followed your instructions to the letter

If you are restoring data from another rom, then that is why you are also having force closes or wifi issues.
You cannot restore wifi data from an AOSP based rom that uses a GB kernel and expect that the same config will work well with the ICS rom and kernel.

I am starting WiFi from scratch by turning it on, wait for it to scan and locate available networks.
Then I select my SSID and enter my keys to activate it.
At times I am downloading from Google Play, and will loose WiFi intermittently.
At times, I am viewing email messages, and will loose WiFi intermittently.
I was tempted to downgrade my RADIOS -but decided to go back to LiquidSmooth ICS 1.5 MR3

Yes Sir, I did all that
I really appreciate all your efforts and your replies both to you and to Santod, I really, really do!
At this time, I resign myself to the fact that some of these ICS ROMs are not yet in their final stages and will wait patiently.
A huge Thanks for the great work to all developers, busting their humps to get this done.
I'm back baby
A funny thing happened to me yesterday, and I'm still laughing
Previously, I mentioned that I was tempted to downgrade my radio, but decided to go back to Liquid ICS v1.5MR3V1
So far I was still getting random reboots - way too many for my taste.
After reading numerous posting, I decided to roll back my radio from 2.00.00.0308, 0.02.00.0312r to 1.49.00.0406w_1,0.01.79.0331w_1.
But, in doing so, I accidentally installed the leaked ICS ROM instead (2.11.605.19).
So I thought I was downgrading my radio, but ended up installing the leaked ROM
Incidentally, I also un-rooted my T-bolt - Thanks to the new tool I was able to quickly root it back.
Luckily, I also backed up the previous ROM, and was able to restore it.
All in the sudden, my T-bolt is back - everything is working fine and no more reboots :victory:
To Recap, after downgrading my radio to the leaked radio 1.49, all is well again .
My T-bolt is running so good that I am hesitant to load the latest ROMs.
My choices are the nuSense beta 17.2 or AOSP 4.0.4 ICS [Multi-Source]
Is it a wise decision to upgrade or should I stay put
That updated nusense is amazing but I wouldn't run it with the full leaked radios. I use the combo of the. 19/leaked radios and they work great.

Why should I try NuSense ROM by Santod

Thank you sir, for your prompt reply!
Sounds like I need to give the NuSenseROM a try, but ....
1) what's so amazing about it, and how does it differ from what I'm currently using (where can I get screenshots)
a) I know its been reworked - but that's over my head (for now)
2) I am not entirely sure what the combo 19/leaked radio is, is it this ".19 cdma and the ICS LTE radio" posted by Santod?
Thanking you in advance.
1) Basically everything works the way it was intended to. Camcorder included. Only drawback is battery is slightly worse than Twisted's build.
A) He rebased the rom using the official Droid Incredible 2 ota which is a better base since the original base was from the leak that sucked balls big time.
2) Yes

I now have the NuSenseROM installed - so far so good.
No reboots yet and I am still using the 1.49.00.0406w_1,0.01.79.0331w_1 radio
The ROM is nearly flawless, but I wish it had the phone dialer interface, and the people interface of the Liquid Smooth ROM
I love the fact the camcorder works, but I wish it also had the ICS camera (But I can download it).
I am using Go SMS Pro, and this ROM is not linking my accounts pictures there (bummer)
The Liquid Smooth ROM showed my accounts picture on that app.
I am using and synchronizing my Google, Verizon, Facebook, and Voxer accounts
