what do you use to share files - HTC EVO 3D

what works best to share files, i got some custom themes i made and want to share

You can post a link with your dropbox, or upload to megadownload or something of the like.

Most people use dropbox or mediafire
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App

Dropbox for small files, in the hold down on the item(apk, song, etc) and press share And copy a link then you should have a link the you can post for anyone to download it
If you don't have an Evo3d well you don't have an Evo3d

For the love of god don't use megaupload or similar. There are so many free alternatives out there. Megaupload and similar are annoying.
+1 for dropbox. Not sure what their data policy is, but as already noted for small files it is great, and easy, and convenient.
I'm not sure why i haven't seen anyone using it yet, but www.ge.tt is great for transferring large files (up to 2 GB) for free. Again, haven't read anything about their data policy, but their TOS doesn't specifiable call anything out. Best part about that service is you are given a link that is active as soon as you START the upload. People can start pulling it down as soon as you click upload. Really neat option.
Just my $0.02

Here is what I use now

You get free 5GB of space and its better than Dropbox in my opinion. Have fun.
edit: Please if you sign up for this 5gb of free storage, please use my referral or click the thanks.. either will do.

Wow 5gb that's awesome, I got a mediafire account and only got 250mb.

Tapatalk is free today on getjar!!!

That's right friends, if you've been holding out on the Tapatalk app to become free somewhere, you're in luck. Today (I'm not sure and I think today only), Tapatalk is free.
This will allow the users of the free xda many new features, browsing multiple forums, and all free (p.s. you can thank people with this version)
Sadly, it requires you to download the getjar market app to install, but thats just a minute long irratation, nothing major. So for all those who want it, get it now!!

Yep, I'm loving that too, yay for free apps. I was waiting for this free somewhere. I didn't want to steal, so I just used the xda free instead. But now I feel a little bad. Xda was getting monthly revenue for server upkeep and now that I got this free, no one is getting the money they deserve. When I get some more money, I might buy this to support the dev.

You don't need to save the download.. You can back it up with an app like Titanium Backup or send the apk to your dropbox..
Not very familiar with dropbox, little bit more info would help. Thanks in advance

You have two options, 1. titanium backup, which stores the app and all its data on the sdcard for immediate restore. What crump told you to do was to make this backup and place it on dropbox. Dropbox is a free (for 2gb, upgradeable with offers to 8gb) file hosting server. It works as a folder in windows, linux, mac, that you can drag and drop files to and have them synced to any of these devices at once. Great for vacation files, and keeping track of important files (like the tapatalk backup for instance) If you want to try this out, sign up with this: http://db.tt/8SjkWkMO (if you use this, give both me and you an extra 250 mb to our accounts free )
2. Use a backup app (such as astro file manager) the advantage to this method is you can install this file again without root, the downside is you don't keep your data, just the app itself, so you'd have to login everytime you changed roms. But again, no need for root, like if you upgrade to an unrootable device. This backup can also be stored on dropbox if you so choose.
Hope this helps
(P.S. Sign up with this http://db.tt/8SjkWkMO)

Yeah, if you soon up with that link, you'll get 2.25 gb instead of 2 gb free and it'll give me an extra 250 mb.
And for your earlier problem, did you download the getjar market apk, then install Tapatalk with that? You can only get those getjar gold apps (that's what the apps are free through) for free with the getjar market apk.

Yeah, google won't put alternate markets in theirs for download. Makes it harder for their competion to get noticed. You have to get the apk from getjar. Just select tapatalk from their website and when you try and download it, it makes you download the getjar apk first. Then you can use that to get tapatalk with.

Dropbox is the most preferred option.
I personally use Box as it gave me lifetime 50GB storage, it runs sweet on my SGS2 & I use it every day. The only 1 issue I have is the upload limit, so it can take a few minutes to upload large files. But that is something I can happily live with, or I can upgrade for a few pounds & then the limits are removed. So my point is use whatever you feel suits you best, not somebody else
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Box as they give me 50gb lifetime storage. They do limit upload speeds & file sizes but if you pay for upgrade the limits are removed. Its very cheap too considering what you get for your pound notes

Hand down Dropbox because I can sync it with titanium backup ADIE and my computer.
I only have 10GB on Dropbox, but more and more app are adding Dropbox interrogation and right now that's more useful then 45gb of space I have nothing to do with.

There's Box integration in TiBu now, by the way.
I would say dropbox is the more popular one out of the 2.
Here is a guide to help you get more space out of dropbox http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1520930
I use Dropbox because I can run it on Windows, GNU/Linux and my cellphone. Not sure if the other app mentioned in the OP can do that, but Dropbox does with without much of a problem..
I like DropBox for the seamless synchronization - I always know that I am working on the latest version of a file without having to manually download it. At least the way that I have things set up, Dropbox feels a lot more like an extension of my existing storage rather than a separate storage space.
I tried box some time ago, but i found the maximum file size very annoying. None of that with dropbox.

I started using Box since the free 50GB promo. Titanium allows you to backup with box so now I can have all my apps backed up and still have plenty of space left.

Give Dropsync a try - truly makes dropbox as seamless on mobile as it is on the desktop.
I personally use both. I use Box to keep a backup of, like, everything. I use Dropbox for sharing files since it's so easy. Share a link, person clicks on link, file automatically downloads.
I prefer Dropbox. The only reason is that there is upload limit and bandwidth limit in box.
Above all, I would rather prefer minus which gives upto 50 GB extended space with no upload and bandwidth limits!

!!!free hosting!!!

Hey everyone
I've been on xda for a while now and noticed a lot of people having to upload their files to mediafire.com or other uploading sites, they work good but it's infested of advertising, so I figured I would share some love offering a hosting place for devs, I have a site called blownco.com, which i would like to offer for everyone to use for there hosting
If you are looking to host your files @ blownco.com please send a PM, so I can setup a FTP account for you to upload large files.
you can also upload your files directly from your browser if youd like either way ftp or the browser is fine with me
When submitting the PM, include the following:
Folder name: ie: myROMfolderNAME
Owner username: YOURUSERNAME
What are you uploading: ROMs? Apks? Resources?
To preview the Download Section click HERE
you can also hit me up on gtalk at [email protected] thanks

Dropbox and 50gbs?

How do we register? Was there paperwork in the box? Aorry my box is miles away from me right now.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA
Open the app and sign in/register (as far as I can remember you need to register a new account). Wait for an email to arrive and there is a link saying something along the lines of "Get extra space free". Follow enough steps in there and you're good to go.
PS: Forgot to mention before Dropbox admit they have a limit of 16Gb at the moment unless you pay for an account
Don't need a new account. I have done it with my old one. Just use the app on the phone
worked on mine, i followed the instruction stated:
Take the Dropbox tour Complete!
Install Dropbox on your computer Complete!
Put files in your Dropbox folder Complete!
Invite some friends to join Dropbox Complete!
Install Dropbox on your mobile device Complete!
if you do this you'll see that your space will be updated to 48GB

Ok can someone explain to me this. So we get the 48 gig for 24 months, does this means after 24 months we have to pay or else losing the file we uploaded?
Thanks,
Drew
I am almost certain the 2 year limit will work like most other similar services, after the two years they won't delete your items you just won't be able to upload anything else until your back below your limit.

Sweet! Didnt even read about this, was out of the country detached from the world for 7months so soon as i landed i just looked for the highest specs phone and thought XDA would do the rest for me.
Is the info/paper work in the box?
I got a confirmation e-mail about my free 50GB of Dropbox storage a few seconds after logging into the app on my S III.
This takes my free Dropbox account up to 105GB in total! (previously got 50GB of extra storage by logging into Dropbox app from a Sense 4.0 ROM on my HTC Sensation).
To trigger the free space you just need to log in and upload something from your phone.

[APP] Copy - 20GB free cloud storage - Similar to Dropbox

Hey guys,
I just found a relatively new cloud storage app called Copy. They are giving away 20GB (15Gb + 5GB for using the referral link) to new users. I'm a pretty avid Dropbox user so I always end up comparing things with them. So far I've been really pleased with Copy. There isn't anything it won't do that Dropbox does. I also think I may actually like their mobile app better than Dropbox's.
Some great features I've found so far:
20GB OF FREE SPACE FOR LIFE! Thats way more than any of the other guys are offering in their free tiers. And this isn't temporary space like you'd get with other promos from Dropbox.
NO FILESIZE LIMITS. Some of the others I've tried (I'm looking at you Box) give you tons of free space but then cap you at 200mb or less file size limits. I uploaded a 1GB file as a test and it took it without complaints.
Multi-platform. They have a desktop sync app for Windows, Mac, and Linux and have Android and iOS mobile apps.
5GB per referral you have sign up! Compared to the others, I could only find 1 that gave 1GB free space per referral. (Note - it says on their website this is only going to be for a limited time so I imagine they will eventually lower it to 1GB or something)
So now that you are all pumped and excited to go sign up, here is the link to use to sign up:MOD EDIT LINK REMOVED Make sure to use that link because you will get the 15GB for signing up plus the additional 5GB for using a referral link.
Once you use the link above to sign up, download and install the desktop sync app and/or the mobile app from Google Play MOD EDIT LINK REMOVED
Enjoy your free cloud storage!
Thanks,
Zeustopher
