[Q] Amazon package requires signature? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am gonna buy Gtab 10.1 from Amazon along with a case.(so amount is $500+) I am planning to use FREE Super Saver Shipping.
1) which shipping company they usually use? USPS, FedEx or UPS?
2) will they just leave it on your doorstep? i am very much concerned about this as my friend lost his camera like this. he just got he slip only when he returned home. the package was missing.
Please share your experiences.
Please let me know if there is any way to make them NOT leave the package on your doorstep,

Usually UPS and you ca request for a signature. I got mine delivered to an apartment and it was waiting outside my door

And how many days it took after you ordered it?

Mine supposedly required a signature. But the delivery company, Ontrac, just left it against my office suite's door (after we closed, late on a Friday of a 3 day weekend). It's a 5 suite office building, lucky I saw the tracking that said "front door" and I drove back (15 minutes) to get it. The "require a signature" means nothing to some delivery companies.

How many days will it take to get delivery from Amazon using free super saver shipping?
I ordered my tablet and a case to Plano, Texas on 8th August, Monday. Still it is not shipped.
Is this normal? this is my first purchase from Amazon

i did next day shipping on three different tabs
first two times they used Fedex and they just left it in between my first and second door the third time it was shipped via UPS and required signature so its pretty much upto the shipping company and not amazon.

Half is better than nothing i guess? But honestly people .. dont settle! Holiday or no holiday, they shouldnt have sold us a 1day shipping option, if it wasnt possible due to holidays or any other reason. It should have said "This option not available" or something
Just keep saying "i ordered on the 23rd ... im receiving on the 28th ... you tell me, why did i pay for 1 day delivery?"
But i didnt have to go through any of that, they were more than willing in my case.

Just spent 45 minutes on the phone with them. I had to argue with the guy about being charged 35.99 for overnight shipping and getting it the same time as a free order. I was very nice and keep trying to get him to see how the website even told me I should get it by 12/27 if I chose that option. It is even being sent to me ground end of day but he keep arguing that since they couldn't ship it until today, they were technically not late. He wouldn't budge but I asked to speak to a manager and she was very nice and gave me my full shipping amount back.
I haven't received any confirmation yet but I hope it goes through as she said.

This is amazing, I'm actually Norwegian and had my American buddy order me the prime. We go to college together in Ireland, so ill get it on the second of Feb. Aaanyway, just called bestbuy now from Norway, and after politely arguing that the shipping is a day late, she went from offering me half a refund, giving me the full 29.99 refund! well i tried to get at least half back, i have an e-mail showing it shipped on 12.26.11 via EXPRESS, time of arrival the 27th, however it is arriving today, anyways, long story short, i called BB CS and the lady kept arguing it was shipped on the 27th even though it says other wise on my BB.com account, eventually she just hung up on me after saying that's not true...WOW...and im a silver rewards member too...this BLOWS...

Nope- nothing shipped on 12/26. UPS was closed. I called and spoke to UPS and they said perhaps a label was created on the 26th but NOTHING shipped. They were adamant about it.
I called BestBuy on the 26th and asked how they were shipping if UPS and Fedex were closed. Crickets.
I called yesterday for a refund and they told me to wait until today. I just called and they refunded without hesitation They said a credit would show on my card in 3-5 days.

You need to call back and if the same thing happens again, just ask to speak to a manager. I had to argue with the guy and he said there was nothing he could do. He said Best Buy was not late since it was shipped on the 27th and I was getting it on the 28th. Even though I paid 35.99 for overnight shipping, it was still actually shipped standard UPS ground for end of day delivery. To long of a story to give all the details of what he said but he was an idiot. The manager apologized and gave me the refund no problem.
Heck, I received complimentary expedited shipping when it took them forever to figure out how to switch my champagne order to grey. Then when it didn't arrive yesterday and after I called, I received an email and a "Digital Credit" of $41.25 (the amount of my taxes) was applied to my order.
I am persistent but polite and always sympathetic towards the CSRs knowing that they really can't do much in situations such as these (this is a pretty complicated deal here).
So happy right now!
I got refunded my expedited shipping for my order that I purchased on 12/25. I called them up and argued that since the estimated delivery time was the 12/27-12/28 for expedited shipping, I wasted money on it because my tablet will be delivered by 12/29 and I spent $17 extra. So the guy the best he can do is give me a $20 DIGITAL COUPON to bestbuy.com and I agreed to receive it. Its like a gift card you can spend on bestbuy.com and the best part is that he sent more than I paid for shipping!!!

Call 1: "Processing" should be all set
Call 2: "Uh, we ill have them in 4-6 days, should go out Tuesday Wednesday of last week" - This was where I get REALLY concerned.....
Call 3: - Supervisor: The guy TOLD US WE WOULD HAVE THEM, but it fell through, and we don't know WHEN we are going to have them."
"Then why did you put "AVAILABLE" on your site, instead of Coming soon, pre-order - 4-6 days, etc..."

I just got off the phone with these liars. I told him the order page is back to saying 2-3 days, he apologized for the misinformation said it'd be about 1-2 weeks.
Think I'm going to find another source and cancel on these vermin.
As far as I can tell no merchant has them in-stock right now so it's really ASUS who's slow on the delivery of these. They obviously weren't shipping keyboards in conjunction with the tablets.

Fwiw, I ordered Thursday, immediately after seeing the "in stock" thread. That is likely the difference. I do not understand this manager saying it is not there though, uless he meant that it is coming in today, and the OP's place in line didn't make the cut for place in line versus items received. The swearing probably didn't help either, even though I fully empathize on the frustration level. :-\

Don't know where to go from here. No body had any in-stock last I checked. Gamestop had no date, and neither did Amazon.
Like a few others, I ordered late Thurs night when the status was "available ". My credit card was charged Friday, I was notified it was "in process" for 1-3 days, now today my status shows "shipped to warehouse ". I am confident in will get mine in a day or two. Am I pleased I paid $40 for express shipping and it's going to take 4 or 5 business days? No. But I think did not read where it clearly states it cn take 1-3 days to process so that is on me.
I'm sorry for those of you who ordered when it said "available " and aren't getting yours. I blame their stock tracking/ordering software more than the company being "dishonest ", I really doubt they tried to intentionally screw anyone. They actually seem like one of the few able to make deliver and are being up front about when they will get future stock.

I just got two emails saying they oversold over the weekend. I couldn't give a **** about what they did over the weekend, I ALSO ordered asap on Thursday night.

What is the status of your order, was your cc charged, did/does it show as shipped to warehouse?
I bought my pad off of newegg.com last thursday. They have been showing up periodically, only when they actually have stock availible. In most states they don't charge sales tax and they ship very quick. I'm seeing only the grey docking station listed on their site at the moment but it is out of stock. All you can do is keep checking periodically as they will show up but sell really fast. But at least if you see it's in stock and buy it, you'll get it. This is one of the most reputable sites on the net.

don't cancel, you probably are going to get it.
I never seen the "shipped to warehouse" status, I only got "In Process" when I ordered.
I'm not canceling mine either despite receiving the two emails that they oversold. In part because he still gave an end time of when they will get more in, while the other online retailer don't provide any info when they will get more in.

perhaps us over here in Blighty are not so hard done by after all!! Whilst we are yet to get the TFP we will get it with the dock and our retailers do not normally tale 2-3 days to process an order as we can order of some sites up until 8-10pm and still get next day delivery.
Now I am seeing the positives of living on a "small island" as Bill Bryson would say.

I've ordered from them before, yes.
Never an electronic item though, just the occasional case. They seem alright, plus you can get a free microfibre cloth if you use a certain voucher code (I forget what).
Ordered mine straight away, as the pre-orders I saw in The Netherlands were €300,- (Total Bull**** right?)

Ordered yesterday at about 16:30 for delivery before 1pm today and here I sit...counting my steps and replying to texts cos there's not a lot else you can do with it yet......lol
MobileFun attach a letter to the box explaining that you shouldn't get it until the 7th because it won't be fully functional until then but they want you to have it early so you're ready to go etc.

Not very impressed, and most likely won't order from them again. Not for electronics anyway.
^I hear you. I've just sent them my "thoughts" on the matter. That said, I've had a good few things from them in the past with now bother so I'm cutting them some slack. Their stock level calculations are obviously not to be trusted so I'll certainly think twice about ordering from them again.

Same here, cancelled my order. pre-ordered it from a shop in The Netherlands.
Selling a device saying it will be dispatched immidiatly and then say "oh its out of stock". not too impressed with that.
(As a web developer, I also find it a weird way of doing it. A proper system would be a count behind the article and every time someone purchases it the count goes count -1. till the point it has to say its out of stock.)

It's not your fault so don't you worry. It did lead me to just cancel the order completely and take my money (which they still have!) elsewhere. I'll not be ordering from them again!
Well, yep my order also went south. Made my feelings known to them as well.

I ordered my Moto E directly from Motorola and it appears to be shipping via FedEx. Do I need to sign for it when it's delivered? I won't be home so I'm hoping not.
I did the same, and my delivery is scheduled for this Friday.
The Fedex tracking for mine says "Indirect signature required":
Indirect Signature Required: FedEx obtains a signature from someone at the delivery address; from a neighbor, building manager or someone at a neighboring address; or the recipient can also leave a FedEx Door Tag authorizing release of the package without anyone present.

Ah - I now see that. Hm, I hope a post-it note will suffice! Mine also arrives on Friday.
I got mine yesterday and luckily my wife was home to sign for it. She caught the FedEx driver right when he was about to leave, and he had already put a slip on the door. Hopefully a post-in note will work for you guys.

A post-it note with the tracking number, your printed name, and signature would probably be accepted.
I know fedex and UPS in my area will say they've attempted delivery and no one was home when I've been home all day waiting for them, and they've claimed they've gotten a signature for items that nobody signed for and just left it on the doormat. So I'm pretty sure my local delivery guys would accept a post-it note, if they even bothered to look at it.

thats what i did on friday. picked it up myself from a local fedex station.
So the phone actually arrived today - a day earlier than the FedEx original estimate. Before heading to work this morning, I checked the tracking and saw it was at the local sorting facility (but still estimated tomorrow as delivery date). Figuring there was a chance it could arrive today, I put a post-it note on my door with a message to please leave the package at the door, the tracking number, my name and my signature.
FedEx left the package as far as I can tell:
9:12 am Delivered Left at front door. Package delivered to recipient address - release authorized
So, it may still be a discretionary thing for the FedEx driver, but the post-it note worked for me. I live in a very safe area with low foot traffic, so that may be a factor as well.

Shipping was way fast - mine was delivered this morning. I had signed up on the fedex site, and had them drop it off.
Generally pretty happy with it, too. The exterior buttons seem like they might not wear well over the years, but the rubber ring they're attached to seems like it ought to be pretty cheap to replace if that ever happened. Otherwise, great device.

Question Trade in refund.

When I ordered my Pixel 6. I was quoted $366 for my Pixel 5. Google received my P5 on November 2nd and has not done a thing since then.
Anyway has anyone done the same and received there credit?
On a side note, I did the trade in because selling on Ebay is nothing but hassle now days. You have to pay Ebay, PayPal, taxes, etc. With little profit. And hope that there is no shipping mishaps.

That's too long. I got my $366 about 3 or 4 days after they received it, maybe 5 max. Time to give them a chat request have them find it and process it.
Just FYI eBay and PayPal parted ways a while ago and no longer do business together. With that said the fee turns out to be the same 13%. I don't know why you think selling on eBay is a hassle these days.. at least it's no more of a hassle than it's ever been. You can also use Swappa.
Google's shipping department is notoriously unreliable. From hours I've spent on the phone with them I've gathered that the shipping department is in control of many aspects of product fulfillment and the person you talk to can only make requests or tickets to them and they deal with it as they see fit.
I ordered a pixel 6 less than 2 weeks ago, got an email saying my shipment would be delayed, then the next day got an email saying my phone had been shipped.
When I ordered the pixel 2 XL they sent me two of them by accident. One of them had cracked glass. Both sealed in retail boxes.
I have a friend who ordered a phone from them and all he got was a sealed retail box with no phone in it. Of course they didn't believe him so he got stuck with the bill.
Contact Google and explain the situation. It could just be the timing being off or it could be a bug on your order. In any case it's best to start a history now with the support team just in case things go sour.

Shipping is slightly different than the returns. New devices are usually sent from Carol, Il I believe but returns go to Tennessee. I just checked @vandyman and I sent mine back on November 6th from the PO, they received it on Nov 10th and I got the credit on my account on the 11th. I got a quote from Google for $159 on my Pixel 4xl, but decided to sell it on eBay. The last time I did a trade in with Google, they undercut my estimate by $75 and the phone was in mint condition.
I sold the pixel 4xl for a hundred more than what Google quoted me for, but after eBay fees I only cleared with $50.
So bottom line is you're going to take it up the @$s either way, it's just a way who gentler
I am still on a chat with Google support.
It sounds like they lost it.

I received an email that my Pixel 5 is better than what I have described. Lol
But they are only going to credit me the $366 that they offered on the trade in deal.
Email says it will take 3 - 5 days to see my account credited with the $366.

Awesome! I saw that some people got $400 even though they said 366. Mine was damn near mint too. Oh well. How's long did it take you on the phone? And did they tell you what happened?

I was on Google store chat for about 30 minutes while the girl went back and forth with the next tier.
Finally at the end of the chat. They said it would be escalated and they would send me an email.
Edit; (what happened to the Pixel 5)
They magically found it I guess.
