I have the same problem. I have XPERIA X10 MINI PRO and my phone too stuck at kernel logo. Only reinstall kernel and miniCM7 2.1.9 helped. Maybe I do something bad...

Fixed media_profiles.xml for our x10 mini's.
1- Delete camera.apk and camera.odex from /system/app
2- From the attached zip, put
camera.apk in /system/app/
media_profiles.xml in /system/etc/
3- change permissions on all added files to 644
4- Reboot
5- Test it
I'd always prefer using lgcamera
changing defaults video settings to:
focus-mode: semc-continuous
video-encoder: MPEG4
bitrate: 3mb
audio-encoder: AAc
audio-samplerate: 44100
audio-bitrate: 128000
(for autofocus to work you need to touch record button on screen, dont use the manual shutter)
also, pictures are nicer than stock camera...

No, the autofocus works fine, in camera settings-focus mode there is auto and macro option.
In original camera.apk there is, settings-focus mode there is auto, macro and touch option.
here's the original apk if you want to take a look, also I deodexed it and removed the tone generated auto focus noise aside from that it's the original apk

Oh, look at that... I never had "touch focus" camera before. Work's well.
Except video recording is ugly! I'd still prefer lgcamera with "semc continuous focus"

I do not think that people prefer the 'touch focus' instead of good quality recording

Same for me bud, quality over quantity , I just got confused as I thought you used the minicm7 camera.apk to make this fix which by the way is awesome.
As for putting my apk on first post, it's not mine so do with it what you will , just want to make sure the rom makers get thanked and not me.

The Idea is To make the Sony Camera App the default camera app in CM9/CM10 since it's a lot prettier and also the AOSP Camera app has a small Function bar that looks ugly

Update 2012-July-06 :
I tried to port the Camera App and Libs from Mini CM Sandwich AOSP v4
The Rom has SemcCamera update in case you didn't want the AOSP camera look
I made a falshable zip (MiniCM port.zip attachment) of the ported files and flashed it to FXP CM9 Build 132
The Original Camera still working after flashing (because Mini CM Sandwich is AOSP based so the both roms have the same libs ,at least for the camera)
After Flashing the system updated it's apps But the SemcCamera didn't appear in the app drawer
After that I ported the Libs and Camera Apps from Stock firmware 4.1.B.0.431 and made a flashable zip (Stock port.zip attachment) with them and flashed them to FXP CM9 Build 132
after flashing the system has update also but the Original CM9 Camera didn't work (force closing) because the difference in the libs
as for the SemcCamera it didn't appear in the app drawer also :crying:
So, Any one knows what to do ?? (Please Help) :fingers-crossed:

1- Flashing SemcCamera Update From Mini CM Sandwich AOSP v4 will delete the \system\app\Camera.apk (The AOSP Camera) and add \system\app\SemcCameraUI.apk (Sony Camera ;which doesn't show in app drawer) that's why you'll see the camera app missing
also it doesn't add the \system\app\CameraExtensionPermission.apk (because it's already there in Mini CM rom and not there in AOSP)
2- SemcCameraUI.apk is not installable ,when trying to install ,it says Application didn't install ,so we can't push libs and then install camera app as any other app
Ideas :
1-Modding the CM9 Camera.apk ,porting the .png files from SemcCameraUI.apk ,but that needs editing the XML files (XML Programming) which I don't know anything about it
2- Make The System use SemcCameraUI.apk instead of Camera.apk ,How ? you tell me
3- Make the SemcCameraUI.apk visible in App Drawer and use it as a 3rd part camera app

Its not work with the Sony Live With Walkman WT19i. I flash it, after i reboot i got "App isn't install" (cm9 camera app). I can't see stock app shortcut in app drawer. I just flash it, not wipe cache, etc. Check the screen shot.
Any solution?

I Tried to replace the Camera app
the camera app in stock ICS name is : SemcCameraUI.apk
the AOSP Camera app name is : Camera.apk
so what we need to do is to make the rom use SemcCameraUI.apk as the Camera app
coz just replacing isn't working
and i think we need to patch the .apk a bit to make it work with AOSP libs
I'm not a dev but I know a Bit

Are you sure you flashed it correctly? Are you clicking on the icon in your launcher home screen? If so, try to open the camera from the app drawer and tell me.

"adb logcat" in windows/linux/mac shell or CatLog app (download from Play Store).
MiniCM7-2.2.1 Camera by default:
- autofocus is too short --> photos are blured, over exposure led flash
- no auto adjust exposure of camcorder when you shot from dark to bright area or vice versa
- on camcorder mode if led is turned on, it will turned off if you tap the record button
- and last probably the most popular issue, freezing at the middle of recording following with unsynched audio and video
After FIXed
- auto adjust exposure
- decent autofocus with one tap of button
- led can turn on while video record
- no freeze
- no AV unsynch issue
The video is the same quality with 2.1 ROM and the audio is better than 2.1 ROM,
but decreased from the quality of MiniCM7 2.2.1 ROM.
This is the best setting I can get to make it not freezing while record video

And then delete the Camera.odex in system/app
Reboot phone, and you're done

No. It doesn't.
It's possible, but I dunno how.
I tried once to copy semccamera apk to system/app.. the photo works but camcorder FC..and the UI is messed up.
This is the best we can try at the moment, I think.

gonna wait for some feedback, but this is definitely a must have app.:good:
For smc_continueus use LGcamera from Gstore , in camcorder mode just change the focus mode from auto to smc_cont and you will get the continueus focus ( notice you must start the capturing vid with LGcamcorder not the Camera.apk and start recording with hardware button not the soft one from screen)

I could use focus pressing the screen while recording video,
after I updated then the application get no focalization in video,
I do belive the 2.1.8 had the better cam possible to GB rom

Wi-Fi driver settings haven't been modified for very long time. You will have to somehow compile a kernel with fixed Wi-Fi / Hotspot, as none of nAa kernels don't have this fixed.

install this file i know its ment for nexus but i flashed it today and now i have cam and gallery working its the cam and gallery app pulled from the nexus 4.2 rom . remba to nand befor flash !!!!!! iv had to put this into 2 parts as i cant upload files biger than 8mb and its 9mb so unrar and then copy the file to sd card then flash via cwm ... happy days

What fix did you create?
What changes have been added for this works on CM10?
I've already found and tested 4.2Camera_t04 zip and it doesn't work. Still gallery ok but camera not working (view finder).

FXP 145 CM10 comes with the built in legacy camera which works totally fine. So try it it's awesome. Just don't flash Gallery 4.2 on Cm10 because the camera is buggy(u can capture but can't see anything with camera on).
U will get fc with the gallery that comes with cm10 every time rom boots up but just ignore it

FXP 145 CM10 comes with the built in legacy camera which works totally fine. So try it it's awesome. Just don't flash Gallery 4.2 on Cm10 because the camera is buggy(u can capture but can't see anything with camera on).
U will get fc with the gallery that comes with cm10 every time rom boots up but just ignore it

yeah i know it works fine. but picture colour are not as good as of stock camera in stock roms.... thats why i m not using i cant live without my HD camera which i have in stock and i want to have the same quality in CM10 which i havnt found..

front cam works and im using fxp kernel from cm10 thats all and . i dont think the pic is as sharp as its ment to be but still looks good atlest its a start to a half decent cam app on jb
also im using xperia mini pro i dont know if this will work on any ova xperia atm but still its a start

second camera was removed from the main. Model: xperia P, JB 4.1.2 (.100) kernel stock, room stock. I want use cybershot but this app not working! Sorry for my mistake bro

You removed it yourself or did they remove it in the center?
Was cybershot working before it was removed (even if the fron cam didn't work)?

They remove it in the center because they can't fix my 2nd camera. Now i can used some app: Camera JB+, Procaptune, ... but i can't use stock camera and mod cybershot.
I hope someone can change (mod) the stock camera app to get it to work! Thanks!

Yes, It's a sony center!
I touch icon camera wait long time, then my phone report : "camera is not available". I think this app stock camera ( or cybershot camera mod) will check all hardware ( camera 1st, 2nd...), if hardware broken, App stock camera will not working!
Now, i can use app camera JB+, Procaptune ... because it's not check all hardware and i can use 1st camera, but if i change camera, The app will stop! I must reboot phone!

I asked a simple wuestion. Did Cybershot work before you sent it to center?
I looked at the code a little and I think I know what need to be done, but I never done something like this so it may take me some time.

No,I dropped the camera phone should not work before, I brought the phone to sony center. They report broken and the front camera can not be replaced and remove it from the phone! So I want to ask now how do I use the Cybershot?

I looked at the source and I saw it check how many cams phone has if only one it should ignore front cam.
Give it some time maybe someone will help.

I have managed to make a camera that does not have front camera option, but you are the only one that can test if it work without a front cam.
You must have root to replace the cam app, do you have root?
If not you can root with DooMLoRD Easy Rooting Toolkit

Backup SemcCameraUI.apk and SemcCamera3D.apk and copy those attached below ro /system/app, change permissions to 644 (read all, write owner, execute none), reboot, and before you open them go to Settings -> Apps -> All -> Camera and clear data.
I only changed one class in both app to return number of cameras 1 instead 2, lets see if it let you use it.

Maybe it's not the app but some library it use.
Maybe someone more experiance can help.

Now I just use the stock camera quick launch mode. On the lock screen, I stroked to launch the camera app running, just take the picture and can not be customized. If it is custom to stop working!
