Fed up - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Im tired of waiting i have an x10a im going to flash gb already, what should i do? Flash stock and wait for root? Or search for that pre-rooted stock ive heard about?
Ive read about the wb rom but i dont want to miss any features of the stock(sorry if i dont know, noob at the whole custom rom stuff?.
But i had my 2.1 rooted and i loved it(specially the ability to control cpu usage)

Root is already out for gb

Oh thats good, so it would be better to flash stock and root, but i just heard(read) so many good things about the wb rom im undecided, what features of stock would i be missing with wb?

If you look at wb Rom it comes with the gingerbread baseband to flash if you already have root on 2.1 you dont need to upgrade to stock gingerbread flash the Rom dont reboot then flash the baseband then reboot gingerbread with root and xrecovery

Sent from my x10a(still running 2.1 sadly) using XDA app

Most of the roms are stock especially wb just added stuff such as bravia engine and xloud increasing you music and ringtones you will also get panoramic camera app very fast been using mine for a week very stable

Im undecided on what to try the pre rooted stock or wb? Damn

i'm also x10a originally but there's absolutely nothing wrong in flashing a x10i, looks like baseband 71 works on all regions.

Yay now running gb, feels like a new phone(at least on-screen)
Sent from my x10a"i"(running pre-rooted 2.3.3) thanks doomlord:-D

If you don't want to miss anything, don't use custom ROM. Just root to delete unneed apps and xRecovery to install plugin. It works perfect.

2.1 rom on latest baseband

Hi guys,
Currently I am using the 2.2 rom, but cause of thr no camcorder problem I am thinking about backing up the 2.2 rom and using the 2.1 rom for when I feel the need to film. So my question is will 2.1 work with thr baseband used for 2.2? This may be a dumb question...

Good morning..
which baseband did you have now ??
regards
Yes it will work. I am "dual booting" (both roms backed up to restore whenever) freex10 beta 4 and SE's latest 2.1 firmware. Works like a charm, just remember which one is which! Make sure you have enough space on your microsd.

Or use videocam illusion app for recording on 2. 2

Slow stock Browser 2.1

Ever since the 2.1 update my stock android browser is painfully slow. It hangs when loading pages, and is overall slow. I like the stock browser and wish to continue using it. I have tried to clear the cache often and reset all settings in the browser and nothing helps.
What's the baseband and build number of ur x10?
Did u try clearing history or killing apps before using your phone browser? I know killing apps is controversal.
Tell me this info. And maybe i can help

U mite want to consider doing flash tool from xda website under x10 developement section only cuz u can pick different build numbers if ones dont work for u. I havent heard this issuse before since i started at least looking at these forums since at least december. This rom and firmware stuff work for different people so try it out if u want to go that route. Let me know and i can help u get a link for flashtool of u cant find it.

Flash this via xRecovery. Back to Stock kernel:
http://www.mediafire.com/?0u1ziz7f54dcfy3
And, what is that??

[Q] just a simple Question please Answer it ....

hi.
thanks for you time to reading this...
i buy a X10i from the market in used it is ruining on Android 1.6
i want to rooted it and update on 2.1
i know both thing that who to root it and how to update it.
i just want to know that which action i do perform first ? either i rooted it or update it.
please tell me i update it first or rooted it first.
and one thing more if i update it from sonyericsson then after update can i rooted it with the help of Z4root or not
Update it to 2.1 then root it with flash tools. Then why not install xRecovery and use a custom rom TripNMiUI 2.2.1 v1.4 is nice
Sent from my X10i TripNMiUI using XDA Premium App
install 2.1 and all things needed (root, superuser, busybox --> all in flashtool)
take a look at dev section and have fun
Update first then root using flashtool.
Once uwill get to that stage, maybe a custom rom? TripNMiui 2.2.1 is very nice and stable

[Q] About rooting Stock GB 2.3.3 and Custom ROMS

Hello!
I wonder if there will be a way to root the stock SE 2.3.3 fw withtout flashing the pre-rooted version in the next days or if its something hard to do.
Also, does the update of baseband, fw, kernel, etc... means something to the devs of custom ROMs like fixing camera bugs
Thx
A root method will come with some time.
