Is there a "DTR" for the thunderbolt? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Back when I had the Droid incredible, someone made a mod for it called a "DTR" ( Data Throttle Remover) and was wondering if that same mod was made for the bolt?

He is right. Chingy, for one, was offering one. But, my question is who is that concerned with removing throttling on a 30Mbps connection?

I get throttled during busy times, my data will be almost unusable around 5 pm yet my wives data still works just fine. I use about 8 gb a month and she only uses about 1.5-2 gb a month. Our 4g here is no where near 30 mbps, I get closer to 6-7 when its available (which isn't very often)

No 4g in my area yet, and here we have a monumental system overload so most of the time 3g is slower than dialup!

I can get 10-12 here in Elk Grove Village
10-12Dn 2-4 up around Portland OR pretty consistantly
Sitting in a building across the street from the Sprint office here in Itasca (I-290 & Thorndale Ave.), top floor:
2750k down, 750k up
I set up a wireless router off the office LAN and use that instead, in addition to using the 18mbps U-Verse Wi-Fi at home (live on the south side of Chicago), cause the 4G has left me feeling a little less than enthusiastic. Yeah, the speed is better than (for the most part) 3G, but I hate seeing all the T-Mobile goons coming up to me with their 12-15mbps numbers.
in IL here pretty much all along lake cook road gets fantastic 4g from chicago all the way out to algonquin (where the road ends)

Wasn't me!! I didn't do it!
I was in a 4g city yesterday and got 250kbps. at home way out in the country I was getting my normal 1mbps. Today I am in Santa Barbara, CA and am getting 13.7mbps!! Wow! seems very erratic.
I had a question does sim card affect this too? I'm using a dang old sim card it doesn't work with the wifi calling on the amaze I was wondering how to go about getting a new sim card... I have two but they were for other upgrades not my phones so i dunno how to set this up exactly can I use those sim cards or?

You didn't get a new sim with your phone?? You can always call tmobile or go into one of their stores and get the newest card. Just tell them your old one is worn out. You should have gotten a new one though in the upgrade box...I did. Did you find the user manual in that little compartment in the top of the box? That is where the new sim card is as well. Mine didn't work with the old card so I put the new one in, called tmobile and activated it. everything works now!
Well I didn't buy the phone new through tmobile hence the not getting a new sim card but okay thanks I'll have to do that

Didn't either dude, but the problem is the dang throttle, but I'm extreamly happy with T-Mobiles 4G. Best out of all IMO, as my friends on AT&T are constently looking for Wi-Fi or turning off sync, then my friend who has a HTC Evo 3D is pissed because his 3G speeds are around 1Mbps and his 4G WiMax is around 5Mbps. And now Sprints switching to LTE Really lame, only one I haven't heard about is Verizon, but I know they have data caps, so I'm pretty stoked to be on T-Mobile.

Ouch... I get good speeds aside from my ping. After the ICS update my ping went up into the mid-upper 100's and 200's from double digit ping times on GB.
T-Mo's 2G may be meh, but it's still better than AT&T's 2G network, or at least that's how it seemed when I had them.
Only smartphone I know handles tmo 3G well and doesn't seem slow on it is BlackBerry's.
T mobile reps are saying we will have 4g here by 2013. If not, in may when contract is up probably jump to the dreaded Verizon. They have 4G here.

That's exactly what I ask t mobile when I get the courtesty call because I've gone over the 200mb considered high speed before I'm throttled. I do get 4G when I go to fort Wayne 2-3 times a month. So I usually use 250mb or so.

Throttle remover

Has anyone made a throttle remover for ics yet?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
You don't get throttled...so why would you need a remover?
If you're throttled I've been told by Verizon it's because you're congesting the tower you're currently at. I guess that means if you're in a different area than where you sucked down all those GBs you should be normal speed.
But Nah not that I've seen. No throttle remover.

Also from what I can remember Verizon had once said that if they do throttle you it will remain in effect till the end of your billing cycle. That was over a year ago and things change so I could be wrong. I've also heard they won't throttle 4g but have never seen anything in writing from Verizon but it makes sense as it can handle larger loads.

Verizon speeds lately .....

Anyone else been having very slow speeds on Verizon lately? It's been slowing down for a few months now. I used to get 20 - 30mbps download and lately it's been averaging around 5mbps. I've already tried "resetting" the phone & even switching roms. I'm wondering if it's network congestion or if they're finally throttling me(since I have unlimited data still).
I am also unlimited...just ran a speed test and hit 40.6mbps. Usually I'm around 25-30 though.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Here in Philly LTE speeds have been horrible, as low as .5mbps for me. And that was tested a couple of weeks ago. Data is essentially useless, so I just bumped down to a 250 meg package. I try use wifi everywhere I go, or try not to use data. Gettin' real bad.
Data speeds entirely depend where you live and who else is using the bandwidth. If you live in a crowded city you might not get great speeds during peek time. If you live in a rural area if you even have LTE there like me the speed is basically consistent I get about 20-30mbps at best. However like mentioned before I just try to use wifi all the time because I am limited to my 2gb and wifi is usually avaliable to me.

It's never even kinda-snappy here in Philly. Plain slow, all the time.
I've just generally not been getting good speeds anywhere. I get about 16/4 (D/U) in the best area of my house (my room) but the living room is like 8/1.8... I mainly use it for uploading. (TWC ISP gets me about 15/1mbps) My friends house in the town over I barely get 3G. However closer to the lake (erie) I can get 20-30.
Fastest I've ever got was 36/32 in Detroit.
Also I should mention that I've never seen speeds get better since I switched from AT&T to Verizon...
Inc -> rezzy -> DNA
Forgot to mention my house is on a lake if that has anything to do with signal and speed.
