Cant see files from PC - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an issue, I copied some files to the internal storage of the atrix, but for some reason I have gone to copy these back to PC, but can no longer locate the files, the folder they were in is still there, but not the files. If I look for the files on the phone, they are still there?...
I do not have encryption enabled. Is there a reason for this??... I cannot figure out why this is the case, I want to use my phone similar to a flash drive, just for convenience.....
Any ideas??
Thanks

Nevermind, got it, apparently under the motorola phone portal you cannot see the other files, need to change the USB connection on the phone to mass storage.

Been searching for a while but i cant seem to find the answer, im trying to make my phone appear on my pc so i can recover some files i accidently deleted, the problem is it will only show up as the storage card, i can get the phones memory to show up but only via active sync, so im just wondering is there a way to make the phones internal memory appear as a removable drive so i can run a recovery program on it?

Not that I know of. Can you not run it via active sync?
or maybe vise versa?
When connecting as a mass storage device, the OS on your desktop/laptop takes control of that "removable disc" (can't access it via the phone). Only sd card - external storage can be available. I presume that the inner storage must be maintained by the phone at all times, when turned on.
You can however make a backup or modify files within the inner storage with a file explorer installed on your device (Resco explorer for example). Just make adjustments, to view hidden and system files.
I wouldn't advise you to delete or modify critical system files tho...

I'm guessing you have a defective sd card there was a problem going around with tmous sd cards. Call tmobile and get it replaced.
it just started this i was able to move stuff around but untill recently it just started
i can create the folder drag stuff in once i disconnect the phone and reconnect it the folders cant be opened no more it has that like return arrow on the folder im not sure why
i had this phone for about 3 months was working fine untill i guess today when i opened it and tried to put a file into my phone but just wasnt able to due to the issue
Okay try and format the sd card

i used disk drive again and looked at the folders it says that the folders are shortcuts of the actual folders

[Q] USB seems to link to mystery area on tablet

When I hook my tablet up to the PC via USB, I get a drive letter in Windows. When I open that drive, there are files in there- however, I can't find where these files are on the tablet when I look there. There are folders in the PC view like Android, data, DCIM, Download, kindle, LOST.DIR, media, and .android_Secure and .HuffPost. However, these are not folders on my SD card (which would be /sdcard2) or my internal /SDcard folder. I've tried hunting and pecking through the tablet file structure and doing searches on the files in the folders, but I can't find where the location I see on the PC is on the tablet.
Any help? Big thanks in advance. I successfully rooted the tablet using the TNT_Lite ROM, and haven't noticed any other problems.
debug mode....
I've found the same...sort of. Sometime I get that it is in debug mode and I can't access file, and other times it does mount fine and I can access the files.
It's not that. When USB Debugging is on, I can't see the tablet in Windows.
Just to ask while waiting for a better answer- when everyone here connects their G tablet via USB to their PC, what area do they connect to?
Not sure if this is any different from Vegan's setup but I'm assuming it isn't.
The files and folders you listed when you connect your tablet to your pc via usb are in the "/sdcard" directory. On vegan tab at least, it is set up so that your internal memory (the 16 gb or whatever it is that is built into the tablet) is accessed through the folder /sdcard. What you may be confusing this with is either the /sdcard2, which would be an external microsd card, or the root ("/") directory of your tablet.

SGS2 internal sd card infected with virus :/

So, long story short: my internal sd card is infected with virus
The details:
Today I plugged my phone via usb to my laptop to transfer some files when I discovered that all of my folders have become .exe files. When I tried to open them, my antivirus software said there is a trojan, to be exact this one - Win32.HLLW.Napad.
Last week I was using my friend's usb drive in my phone with the option USB on the Go and maybe this was the source of the infection.
Anyway, the question is what to do now??? I am using Dr. Web on my laptop, scaned the internal sd card and found 61 infected files/folders. The problem is I can't cure them. The only option is to move them to quarantine. When I do that and plug my phone again, they are gone. BUT when I use file manager on the phone, the files and folders are still there.
After moving the files/folders to quarantine... and use file manager on my phone to browse the internal sd, their extensions are displayed corectly now. Before that all the folders were .exe. What does that mean???
Any suggestions how to cure/clean them cuz I don't want to delete any of them. We're talking about pics folder, data, music & etc. ??
Thanks in advance.
Try one of the many data restore packages via USB to PC.. sure a search will provide plenty available.
If not able to retrieve format the storage yes you will loose everything but hey presto problem solved, not that that virus 'if isn't false positive" would be a problem to device since not same architecture..
Then in future keep backing up images to computer or us online storage from phone...

[Q] Cannot copy files to internal storage

I am unable to copy files to my internal storage. Is it a waste space which I cannot use! Please help.
Did you flash new ROM?
Can you be a bit more unspecific?
And by all means, do not tell us what happens when you try to copy a file onto the internal storage, especially keep an error message you might be getting secret, no one must know!
And most of all, never tell if you're not able to copy from the PC via USB or on the phone with a filemanager app.
It is working with FTP or using Wifi File Explorer only.
But not working with normal kies mode or usb debugging mode.
