hi
is this not an android os tab if so how is it possible to install Win7
even if their is a possibility to install Win7 their must be a special version for the tab look for that

The tablet comes with a copy of Windows 7 in the box. You have to use a USB DVD drive to install it. Full instructions should have been included in the box.
If you've lost either of these things I suggest you contact Viewsonic with your receipt details and hope they send you replacements.

I've tried the 3.2 tegav v2 RC2 buto I've founded it more instable than the RC1 version does anyone has the same problem?

hi here easiest way
1.use ubuntu 11.10
2.gparted the disk clean format
3. use usb pendrive copy window7 to it
4.boot from usb
5. follow the step to install windows7
done

[SOLVED] can't get files of my device (tried Windows 7 x64 & Ubuntu 11.10 x64)

Hey folks,
got a "little" problem with my device. I tried to copy some videos of it and it just won't work.
---
I connect my device to my PC and these things happen ...
Windows 7 x64:
Nothing.
Windows 7 x64 with Kies installed:
Windows sees that there is a new device, but it won't let me open as a storage ... "Code 10" in the device manager.
Windows 7 x64 with Kies installed and device in mass storage mode:
Windows sees that there is a new device, but it won't let me open as a storage ... "Code 10" in the device manager.
Ubuntu 11.10 x64:
Nothing.
Ubuntu 11.10 x64 and device in mass storage mode:
I see some files on my device, but when trying to open them, I only get some errors ... the real problem here, when I disconnect the USB cable (or unmount) then there are no files on my device left ... everything has been moved to "lost.dir" and I can´t open them from there, not even from my phone.
---
I tried to connect with USB debugging enabled, but it would work.
Any ideas?
/Edit 1:
The only way to copy stuff over to my computer is by using Kies Air ... and it takes ages for HD videos.
/Edit 2: THE SOLUTIONS LOL :-D
1. I had to connect my device via another USB slot
2. when USB debugging is enabled, it still wouldn't mount; then I installed this app https://market.android.com/details?id=com.jrtstudio.automount and now everything works just fine

1) Using a Rom? If yes check in thread if it, if this problem is already known.
2) Tried different USB-Slots?
3) Connect phone, search in device manager for the device and uninstall the drivers.
Then un- later replug the phone and wait if all drivers got installed again.
CHEERS ;-)

[Q] [HELP] Ubuntu Touch 14.10 on Nexus 4

Previously i'm Italian so sorry for bad english.
Hi guys, I'm new in this forum and I'd like to install Ubuntu Touch 14.10 (utopic) on my Nexus 4, but I'm confused
Before the utopic release there were 2 .zip (trusty-preinstalled-touch-armel+mako.zip and trusty-preinstalled-touch-armhf.zip) and now in the "ubuntu-touch/daily-preinstalled/current" there is a tar.gz file.
Before of this I took the zips files, upload on CWM and install from there, but now? How how can I install the utopic-preinstalled-touch-i386.tar.gz?
I want install Ubuntu Touch as THE ONLY operative system, NO DUAL BOOT.
I use Windows and Android 4.3 (I read kitkat has problems with ubuntu touch).
Thanks a lot
I don't think there is a way to do it properly from Windows. The install instructions assume you're running a recent Ubuntu version on your PC.
However, you could try to install Ubuntu using the MultiROM Manager app, then delete Android and set Ubuntu as the default ROM in the recovery to skip the ROM selection screen. I can not guarantee you can boot into Ubuntu after deleting the Android ROM though.
Another way would be to run the desktop version of Ubuntu in a VM on your Windows machine and flash Ubuntu following the steps from the link above. Or you go a step further and setup your PC to dual-boot Ubuntu and Windows.
EDIT: Sadly, the possibility to install Ubuntu using zip files was removed some time ago. They're using img files now which cannot be flashed using CWM.
On your Windows Machine, install Virtual Box. Inside Virtual Box install Ubuntu...
Run the Ubuntu installation inside VB to install Ubuntu For Devices on your Nexus 4. Follow the Wiki: http://developer.ubuntu.com/start/ubuntu-for-devices/installing-ubuntu-for-devices/

Unbelievable this is!
So many people will now not use it because they can't install it. It is such an extreme abnormal thing to install a different none mainstream operating system on your computer to flash the phone !
I was trying for 2 days now to install it but frustrations went out of control and I fist-punched the nexus 4 and as result a broken screen!
I will never ever again in my life even look at this OS!
(Sorry guys I'm so over frustrated!)

How get USB drivers for windows ? [solved]

Under my Windows 7 machine I cannot access the phone
Under my windows 8.1 I have install the Mi PC suite, I have accès to is content (like a USB flash drive) but inside the MI PC suite I keep have that error ->

"Installation Failed" error from Remix install tool on MSI Windows 8.1 PC.

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit
Motherboard: MSI Z97-X-Power AC
BIOS: UEFI
Secure Boot: OFF
Remix OS ISO: Remix_OS_for_PC_Android_M_64bit_B2016101201
Remix OS install tool: Remix_OS_for_PC_Installation_Tool-B2016080802
I am having trouble installing Remix OS on my MSI PC.
Every time I attempt to install Remix OS on my PC using the install tool, it ends with "Installation Failed" error. The install tool seems to successfully copy files to the specified partition. But the problem seems to occur when it attempts to install the bootloader.
I mounted the boot partition & checked it. In all my attempts at running the install tool, it never adds anything to the boot drive.
Please note, I am using a fresh installation of Windows 8.1. There are no security programs installed. Windows Defender is disabled. I have attempted installation using the built-in Administrator account, so there should be no permissions issues.
Can anyone tell me how to manually add the GRUB bootloader manually? I want to achieve what I have with my laptop (GRUB displaying "Windows/Remix OS"...and then Windows Boot Manager loads).

I am also finding the installation failing at the point of installing bootloader. Would appreciate any help you can give.
same for me on my windows qp chinese tablet. Any workaround yet?
I had the same problem. I solved it by doing the following.
First, i tried installing some "Remix OS for PC Hacked Edition", and to my surprise, it worked. The OS boot selection, and the OS both worked well.
Then, I tried installing the original Remix OS again, with the normal method, I selected not to delete my data, and there was no error this time. I'm using it right now
