HTC extended battery 2300 no extended case? - HTC EVO 3D

I found this on ebay, it is for the Sensation. It is supose to be a 2300 that fits under the stock door. It should work for our 3D's since the sensation battery is the same. It has specific charging instructions and a guarantee. So what do you guys think other than the usual bull?
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-2300mAh-Bat...AU_MobilePhoneAccessories&hash=item2a1271f464

I would love to have one. But I have been burned with every other battery I bought off Ebay. I would at least wait until someone does a sticker pull. I have 9 different batterys from ebay some listed at 1800, 1850, 2000mah and every single one of them have 1000mah printed under the sticker.
Also its coming from Hong Kong which is a huge red flag for me.

Just checked out their Ebay store. 99.3% Feedback Score is pretty good for a Chinese company. They sell A LOT of cell phone batteries and have zero negative feedbacks the last 6 months for batteries and only a couple neutral feedbacks on batteries. If I didn't have 3 already and one on the way I'd probably give them a shot. Even if it's only a 1700mah battery it's still worth it.

My experience with batteries that fit under the stock door is that they usually add very little to battery life.
And boom goes the Shooter...

I'll bite. I ordered one. I'll report back here once I get it in with pictures and any other requested details. A little extra oomph can't hurt, and if it's a bust at least I can help others.

Awesome bro!! Looking forward to your results. I think I'm gonna order the 2 Anker 1900mah batteries with charger for 23.99 tonight. They have been getting good reviews and saying that they actually do last slightly longer than the stock battery

I know it's only been a week, but update?

lol....
"High capacity up to 2300mAh which will not below its labeled capacity."
love the "up to" part.
anything with charging instructions should say it all.
probably charging at higher voltage initially or something; all it would do is reduce the life cycle of the battery.

keep us posted

Nothing yet. Promise as soon as I get it I'll be back here

Had a chance to check them out???
Any thoughts???
Thanks

my bet is the battery is way overated , if no extended size case is needed

Bumping this up.
Anyone get their batteries yet?
How about a Review?
Thanks

Your title is very misleading, I thought it was a real "htc" branded battery. I now see it's a cheap e-bay battery, like I haven't seen those before a quick sticker pull should reveal the real mah

Received this via email (see attached picture) after a notice from ebay that the auction was pulled. I'm thinking that's not a good sign eh?
There are multiple sellers with the same battery listed so I'm hoping the reason the item was pulled was for something related to their account and not the battery itself
Not filing a dispute... I'll post back if I ever see the battery.

Have you sent the seller a message since you received that message from them? If not, you better if you want either your money back or the battery. I'd see what they say and then you may possibly have to open a case to get your money back. Either way, that sucks! I've had issues on eBay before, but nothing like yours. I've had to open 3 cases in the past to get a refund... atleast i did get my money back though

so no one has ever received one of these batteries?

i guess nobody is going to report back so i bought this and will report back when it arrives. Maybe 2 weeks from today

Please keep us updated. Would like to know how the battery performs. thanks

any news on this battery ?, people who have ordered this please leave some comments and let us know the battery performance, regards.

Stronger battery?

Hi,
are there stronger batteries for the Hermes device available?
Shipped one is about 1350mAh, maybe a third party offers 1900mAh.
I have seen a 1500 mAh ones, but I think some 3rd party battery manufacturers are a tad "optimistic" when they state their batteries capacity, so i dont know if they last much longer than the original battery.
There are indeed some compatible and HTC original batteries (same as for HTC Apache) with capacities up to 2800mAh, but there are no compatible battery covers for the Tytn yet, since the batteries need extra room, thus battery compartment extension.
3000mAh soon: http://www.lionbattery.com/description.php?noproduit=473
Boy! Can't wait til they come out with that one!
More Power More Power !
WOW They even have a 4800mAh now
http://www.lionbattery.com/description.php?noproduit=324
Could you imagine.. This would be a small heavy weapon sorta.. You could throw this and really hurt someone.. Just the weight of the unit with this power pack.. YIKES..
4800mAh is for Universal.
Mugen Power Netherlands rep say they are working hard on a same-size-as-original power battery with around 2000 mAh. Waiting for that one. Of course the price needs to be right, not 1/10 of the deviceĀ“s price.

i believe the one i bought is the same one as kramer11's but it's about the same size as original. seems slightly thicker but you won't notice the difference.
you probably won't notice the battery life difference either as it is only 150mah difference. i ended up purchasing a 3000mah one and have started using it from today. it makes the device thiker but it's a great stuff that comes with a replacement battery cover. recommended for anyone who wants longer battery life.
I dont understand why the hermes battery is twice the size as the htc wizard and is only 100mah more.
Anyone ?

How about this one?

It's for the 8125/Wizard
Would it work in the 8525 / TYTN?

Boxwave battery response
I requested that boxwave look into compatibility of the ElectraSpan Extended Battery (which allready works for the 8125/Wizard) for the 8525/TYTN.
The response I received from boxwave was they would look into the request but it depends on requests (demand) received as to how quickly they will develop/offer the new products.
So here is the link to request the extended battery for the 8525:
http://www.boxwave.com/community/request/request_model_103.htm
Fill in your name and email and then a quick note telling them you have the 8525/TYTN and hit submit. If enough of us request this battery they'll probably bump it up on their priority list.

Nice capacity (2500 mAh) but it blows away the same leather case they sell that I just got for my Cingular 8525 I'll wait for battery technology to get slimmer, thank you very much. In the meantime, I just acquired a second 1350 mAh battery so I can pop it in if needed.

Interested too, any response?
I asked when batteries should come and they responded:
Hi, We don't have an ETA for the extended batteries, the standard batteries are coming into us later th is week. Best regards, Easy Devices Sales Team
I see they list the voltage as 3.7v, but the battery for the Hero is 4.2v according to the picture on the HTC accessory website (I don't have my G2 with me to check).
hmmmm interesting!
well, the battery in my hero is indeed 3.7v.
I guess that expansys (who run the accessory site for HTC) have done their usual stuff of putting the wrong picture up.
Finally! Batteries have arrived!

Barring any breakthrough it storage density, you will always need a bigger battery cover to work with a almost 2x capacity battery

I had a battery like that in my G1 and I hated the extra bulk in my pocket. I think the extra bulk on the hero would be even worse. I like the sleekness of this phone
Just ordered one of the eBay extended batteries myself, I dont like that the cover is white but will report back how the battery performs.
Mine arrived this morning, The battery indicator has been at full all day and still is.
It even still fits in my Krusell leather slip case ok as well.
I still dont like it being white but it sort of goes with the titanium of my orange branded hero.
The back cover was a perfect fit as well by the way, all the clips went in to place perfectly.
Very happy chappy so far.
have invested - same they only do white cases but a cross I have to bear.
will report back on life span etc.
can anyone confirm if they had to give it a full 16 hour charge or just the standard hour or so through the mains?
cheers

I bought one before from Hong Kong, it worked very well (exceeded my expectations, especially for the price)...but I'll never use an extended battery on the 3D just because the texture on the back of the phone makes this phone so unique!
you are probably looking at roughly 2500mah actual
bought one, only 3 left
if this is from a "real" manufacturer, why do they only have 5 for sale?
Sumthin fishy here..

Great! Now I need to decide if this is the battery door I should make a mold for a TPU case around or not. I'm sure seidio and sprint/htc will release their own door as well.

Seidios batteries are traditionally way over-rated as well. My favorite product of theirs is the slim "extended" batteries that are actually less mAh and then the OEM battery I'm guessing this battery will come in at 2500-2800mAh, Seidios will probably be between 2800-3000. You can send the battery to batteryboss.org and they will test it, but I doubt you'll want to drop $75 on a battery and then send it to someone. I actually
have one of these standard size orange white and red batteries and so far it seems good. Maybe 90% of what the OEM battery is. I especially like that is has an Android on it!

$15 battery? Even the OEM batteries can be obtained for less then that. I just bought a Samsung battery for an i500 for $10. Evo 4G batteries are about $10 too. These batteries arent fakes, they arent advertised as being OEM. It's just a chinese brand, and from my testing so far they are well packaged and well performing.
Please make the tpu case for the Seidio extended battery, I love this smoke one I have for the standard battery. And I'm getting the Seidio 4000 this week
I'm getting the seidio "boss" battery, and would definitely buy a tpu case for it. These tpu cases are a gem, so well worth the purchase.

I had 9 original EVO batteries from ebay and they worked PERFECTLY.
Guaranteed they make them in the same factories, just some of them get one sticker, others get another sticker. Maybe they're in different towns, but I'm sure it's the same process and they work great for me. Not like the $60 batteries are made in america - they're made in China as well
These under 20 dollar battery's work.
But for how long
They can last a year but don't be surprised if it stops holding charge/discharges fast/takes long time to charge within a couple of months use
Its like a EverReady battery or those cheap batterys they have at the dollar store
They work but soon you have to replace

Because many of the third-party batteries you find are actually less than advertised. However like I said above, this promotion is coming from Phandroid.com. On top of that the website selling it has a 30-day money-back guarantee, and you're protected by PayPal if you decide to use that to check out. I don't see what all the fuss is about.

I started a thread a while back about my experience with a so called 1850mah battery from ebay, that was marked 1000mah under the sticker. I took pictures to prove it. I will do the same with this.

Does this mean this battery is actually 3500mah? I don't know for sure yet. It is charging now. After a couple days I will post back my findings.

Any extended battery that fits using original backdoor

Looking for an extended battery that fits in the OEM battery socket, using the original backdoor.
Does anyone know a good quality battery like that?
UPDATE: Ok, after doing my research I went for Mugen's 3350mAh one.
Reasons:
- I'm an electrical engineer and I hardly believe that you can add extra 1000mAh to the same size battery as MPJ claims and sell it for 19$ - that reminds me of my experience with cheap batteries on eBay (They remove the original label from expired batteries, put a fake and sell for cheap money). There is simply no such technology out there. I bet, Texas Instruments would instantly publish such stuff on Gigaom and it would be Breaking news.
- Mugen seems to be a respected brand among tech reviewers. I found reviews about them on Pocketnow, Engadget and Android Community.
No. Not gonna happen.

Did some research also n it seems great...but i am considering the 8500mah one now.
Any "extended" battery that fits with a stock battery door will only give you a few minutes more of operation if the advertised capacity is true. I would guess it would offer you less than thirty minutes more. Not worth the money. With all the standard extended batteries I've owned, that needed a custom battery door cover, gave 1.5x more run time at the very most. More times than not, two OEM batteries lasted much longer than the extended. Unless you are willing to talk about zerolemon batteries, then I would say it's a waste of money and time. Most ratings of these extended batteries are exaggerated greatly. You're lucky if you get 1.25x more uptime when compared to OEM. The quality of OEM cells are much better than third party batteries. Zerolemon might give you close to 2x more runtime, but they still aren't as much quality and have as much life, over the long run, as an official OEM battery. To get an "extended" battery that fits a stock battery door is a waste of money. The increase of run time is hardly noticeable to make the purchase worth spending the money on.

What you say is true if only I'd get this battery and only use it, however I get it to swap with original because I don't want to alter the design of the phone. So once my original is showing low charge I swap it with the new one, so I don't think it's a waste of money.
Zerolemon is not my choice in the end - I checked them online and was not impressed. Does not look professional. I went for Mugen, because according to the feedback from respected tech sites their quality is very good.
OP you should keep in mind that these batteries are not quality tested like the original one's are, and they might catch fire and hurt you.
There have been several cases of phones catching fire or blowing up, and most of the times the reason is an unauthorized battery.
e.g. http://www.phonearena.com/news/Samsung-Galaxy-S-III-that-injured-18-year-old-girl-exploded-due-to-third-party-battery_id45509
If something like this does happen, Samsung will not help you or fix the phone for you, even if you are under the warranty period.
So always be cautious while using an unauthorized battery.
Just don't see how you can really cram that much add'l capacity into the same size battery for such a cheap price. Where's the trade off?
I'd like anyone who gets one of these to report back after using it for a few weeks to see how they hold up.

Lol. Its the same as every thread created in each phone's specific forum. There aren't any extended batteries the same size as OEM. It is a Pipedream.

what about the one in question? It offers 150mah extra. I know it's not too much, but if using two batteries (OEM + this one) it all comes up to 6550mah if I'm not mistaken, which is good.
Samsung spend millions of dollars on researching batteries. So these batteries can not keep goal.

So why not just spend the money on a samsung battery. No worries. No issues. No checking to see that 150mah you're not going to get. Just get another stock battery. I already have mine with charger. Was $25 after tax on samsung website but after 50% off coupon.

I don't have 50% coupon and I'm not from US. That battery will cost me more than Mugen.

You don't need to buy the charger, You can buy just the battery and swap it when the first one is dead. It's somewhere around 17-20 $ on eBay. I don't think it should be a problem ordering it where you live, or you can have it shipped to any of your friend or relative and tell them to send it to you.
