[Q] What kernel do I have?

Is there an easy way to see what kernel I have?
I think I installed "[KERNEL] JAC XMOD OC/UV w/Voodoo and w/Colorfix [CFQ] CWM/Stock/ODIN V1.1 10/02/10" via Odin. [I do have clockwork as well]
When I got to About Phone there is no easy way to see if it actually worked?

Voodoo Audio not recognizing Nero 5 Kernel

Anyone know if the included kernel in Nero 5 is compatible with the Voodoo sound app? I figured since Team Whiskey used the Voodoo Kernel (red recovery) that it would be compatible. Is this not Supercurio's Voodoo enabled kernel in this Rom?
Its voodoo compatiable but not voodoo sound compatiable we need the us kernel 2.2 source to implement them in regular kernels

Voodoo kernel and Voodoo sound are two different things. Most of available vibrant voodoo kernel doesn't support voodoo sound. If you want to try voodoo sound, install ttabbal's Dragon kernel ..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=910412
Thanks for the responses and understanding. I understand that there a difference between some Voodoo lags and the work that Supercurio does. I thought I remembered somewhere that if the recovery was red, then it was his kernel. And then assumed that Voodoo audio would work since it was his kernel. thanks again for the responses.
you need to install the dragon kernel from ttabal pool hall

[Q] eb16

I'm running sc 2.6 and looking for a kernel other then the eb16. anyone have any thoughts on one i should try. also i downloaded the voodoo control app and it says I'm not running an kernel that suports extended sound control. Please help. thanks
Aa I understand it, the kernels that are out now do not support customization because source code is not available yet. Voodoo sound=custom kernel. Our current voodoo kernel only converts rfs to ext4. The version hasn't changed because it's really a mesmerize kernel adapted to the fascinate I think...

ok thanks allot. I was also looking at trying out the kios rom but says have to have a voodoo kernel. really dumb question but since the voodoo control is not seeing it a s a voodoo kernel the eb01 and eb16 are right. also i have tried to download jt's kernel Updated Voodoo5 Kernels for Fascinate, Mesmerize, and Showcase! Now with Voodoo Sound to test it out and when i click the link i get some box saying i dont belong there and bla bla bla i signed up for dropbox and still will not let me download it . grrrrrrrrrrrrr getting pissed
Voodoo sound is only available in select Eclair kernels. The Voodoo sound driver cannot be added to the currently available Froyo kernels because we are lacking source code. The Voodoo control app will therefore not work, since the audio driver it controls does not exist in these kernels. Once source is available, you can be sure the audio driver will be added back in.

[Q] Voodoo sound and OC question.

Ok so I just put the Honey Sweet 2.4 Rom on my phone after I downloaded the KA6 Kernel + Voodoo from Here . Now my question is this, Is the voodoo sound already modified to be better or are there settings I should go in and tweak to make it absolutely amazing. Also I want to OC my phone to either 1.2 or 1.4Ghz. I have SetCPU and I want to know what exactly I need to enter to have it up and running. I am a noob at this stuff but I do understand the risks involved with this stuff. I am eager to learn. I did to a search in the android general forum as well as this one and came up with lists and lists of threads that only mention voodoo. Thanks in advance!

Gotta get the VooDoo app from the market....then you'll be able to control the various VooDoo sound enhancements
To OC your phone you need an OC kernel...a stock VooDoo kernel can't do this...so you'll need a kernel like Destroyer of Worlds (DoW14) or Eugene's Dead Horse or Dragon kernel...i think they will come overclocked @ 1.2ghz by default...since not all Vibrants can handle 1.4ghz....check out those kernels and read about them before flashing....i personally would recommend Dead Horse..since Dragon gave me kernel panics and DoW14 was just not for me
EDIT: Misread the OP....just like the post below...stock VooDoo kernels don't come with VooDoo sound...gotta get the ones that say it comes w/ VooDoo sound
Stock voodoo kernels do not have Voodoo sound included you need to use a kernel like Categorically Worthless, Overstock, Dragon or DeadHorse in conjunction with the voodoo control application to utilize the voodoo sound features.
See thats the thing. In the instruction it had me install one of the stock kernels with voodoo first and then after flashing the honey sweet it included a kernal with these features:
"- Overstock Kernel OverStock v1.3, 341MB, Voodoo Sound, Color, Lagfix, BLN(thanks cmenard) Voodoo Disabled by default"
So it now has a different Kernel (I dont know what Overstock kernel is) with voodoo sound and all such.

Ok I see. So I can flash another kernel on there that will allow me to OC? Will that wipe all of my info or no? As far as the voodoo goes should I be tweaking any sound settings or is it already where it should be? Thanks for your help!

as to voodoo sound it has some defaults set but it doesnt hurt to play with it so you get the perfect sound for you. as to other kernels you can flash other kernels but make sure read up on the initial posts by the developer and follow their instructions to the letter.

There wouldn't maybe be a guide to this voodoo control app somewhere around here would there? If not I guess I will just figure it out haha. Thank you for the help I will see what the developer has to say regarding the kernel.

[Q] klin's kernel support voodoo sound?

Klin's kernel have all steve's kernel feature but for me voodoo soud inform me that kernel is not suported by the app. It's true or not?
It is compatible, but just like with Steve's, you must install the Voodoo program by downloading it from their site, not from the market.
