Help uninstalling Blue_Overglow.zip + framework-res.apk - HTC EVO 3D

Hey all.
Been searching XDA and Google for anything on the original framework-res.apk file for the EVO3D.
I dont know what happened but after I flashed this zip from recovery, I rebooted and only see the top status/battery/timebar. NOTHING ELSE. Power button activates screen only...no lockscreen, just black screen and top bar.
Can anyone lend a hand and help me figure out if this can be reversed or uninstalled? Phone works....just cant see the screen to take calls.
Much thanx in advance.

Just download the stock ROM on your computer and pull the original apk from it. Or download the ROM you fiddled with, and pull its apk from there. You can also just try reinstalling the ROM. Or reflash it over. Just clear cache and Dalvik, then flash.
Oh and post this is Q&A next time, or the hall monitors will come and give you a ticket. Oh, and I forgot to mention a tongue lashing.
I also forgot to mention to be aware of the troll patrols. They'll troll you alive!

Thanx. Im downloading the stock rooted rom now.
The only reason I posted here was that the zip was a battery modification that for the life of me, I cant seem to remember where I got it from. Considering that it was a mod, I figured it would make sense in Themes and Apps...also figuring in that if someone who had used it as well would have knowledge of uninstall/removal.
Download's done. Will let u know if it worked. Thanx again DDiaz007!

I understand that DD. I don't plan on doing a clean install. After all, I do have a backup from about a week ago that I could restore in Clockwork as a last resort. But seeing as I have done some installs and the backup is a week old, I wanted to see if this zip can be uninstalled. I found out its from Team Xron and I downloaded it on 7/20, 5 days after I got my 3D.
My confusion gets worse now that I see that when I flashed the zip, (its contents included below) it had a META-INF file besides the .apk file. And comparing the 2 META-INF files from here and the stock Rom...they differ in size, and contents. The stock ROM META-INF does not include the RSA, SF, & MF file as does the Mod zip. Also the binary and script files differ in size.
How would u suggest going about changing it back? Should I put the .apk on my sd and push it using ADB? OR create a zip with the Stock .apk and META-INF and flash it in Clockwork Recovery as I did initially?
META-INF / CERT.RSA RSA File 1.7 KB
META-INF / CERT.SF SF File 382 bytes
META-INF / MANIFEST.MF MF File 329 bytes
META-INF / com / google / android / update-binary File 249.9 KB
META-INF / com / google / android / updater-script File 196 bytes
framework / framework-res.apk APK File 3.0 MB

creating a zip with the Stock .apk and META-INF and flash it in Clockwork Recovery was unsuccessful.
"Installing Evo 3D base rom 1.0
unpacking system..
symlinks & pemissions...
"installing kernal...
assert failed: package_extract_file("boot.img. "/tmp/boot.img")
E: error in /sdcard/download/xxx.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted."
Although I backed up in CWM....think im just gonna restore back to last week. If i get a wild hair and some good tech support from Xron, I might flash back and troubleshoot again. Oh well....

I flashed a battery mod from Xron and the screen was black all for notification bar on top. Trying to "undo" that. Ive extracted the framework-res.apk and the Meta-Inf folder from the stock rom and tried flashing. Not recognizable in CWM Rec. I used the original signed .zip and replaced the contents and the results are in my last post. What else can be done?

That updater script is trying to install more than what you have in the zip. Your best bet would be to push through adb
Enter-
Adb push (your framework-res.apk) /system/app/
No parenthancies

Request: System Dump of full DI01 updated phone.

Someone who has done the whole DI01 update, please dump their system for me, or just the framework folder, apparently the one given to me had the stock android lockscreen patch applied to it lol.
Aside from that, the DI01 deodex works perfect, I opt_png'ed and zip_align'ed all the apk's, as well as the framework-res and twframework-res.
I will also need someone who knows how to sign updater-scripts to open the one attached, and just save it again properly and upload it for me. I am trying to get a flashable CW zip but the darn thing always gives me a status 6 error, which means the CW cannot read the updater script.
Sorry for the n00b question, but what benifit does deodexing provide? Also if there is another software update will I have to readd any .apk's to my /system folder?
Why not just flash your own system back to stock, then run the update, then dump /system? If you'd like an update script that doesn't update modem.bin, I already have one.
Assuming you're updating via CWM, why are you signing the zip? You don't need any signature, just zip the file up.
Is there anything involved in a dump besides just copying the files in /system?

Because I am too lazy to go through all that.
I don't need it signed per say. More like opened, edited, and saved properly. It is said it is best to edit the update script in s Linux based environment which I don't have, but that notepad should suffice, yet when I save it with my notepad, I get the error of cw not being able to read it properly.
I have a fresh phone that just got the D101 update. Just need directions on what if anything is involved beyond just getting the /system directory via adb.

That is all I need. The only things I deodex are the contents of system/app and system/framework.

Try a real editor, like bluefish or something.. Those scripts look like sh#! in notepad.
If no one has done it by tonight, just grab me on IRC and I'll do it under Linux for you.
Make sure you've got the file/directory structure right too.. You can't just throw a script in a zip file, but I'm sure you knew that. Myself and and a few others had the wrong directory structure at first, don't remember what error number that gave us though.. I think it just froze.
OK, how can I get it to you? I can't post links or (I think) files yet.

You can just zip it up and upload it to mediafire.com
Just splice up the link like WWW. Website. Com and I will just delete the spaces.
Mediafire upload just not working for some reason. Hm.

Rom Kitchen With Checkromv4

Is anyone else experiencing difficulty with the Kitchen in this version? None of the kitchen tweaks will work, they download fine, and it goes thru the regular process of installing, however none of the programs seem to be functioning after installation. Just checking with anyone else before I try re flashing. I did do a full wipe before install.
2.3.6
xxki4
Siyah 2.3
Checkrom V4
The same thing is happening with me. It downloads the files just fine but when it tries to install them, it restarts to the wrong recovery (not clockworkmod). You can see the things fail installing because of the <!> that comes up in the recovery for a split second.
How can we get it working? The only way I've done it is to manually restart to the right recovery, and then manually install each zip.
Reinstall the kitchen app
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Try installing them from recovery, you have to delete or rename the clockworkmod folder on the external sd card in order to install things directly from the kitchen.

salted_hash in clockworkmod folder
Found the culprit:
Q: I am not able to flash via Kitchen???
A: Delete Clockworkmod folder
Reason:
Previously to make the kitchen flash in older version of CWM5 we need to use a salte hash file that was placed in the Clockworkmod folder, Now with the updated CWM5 the actually problem with CWM5 was fixed by the respective creator!
So now what happens is that all you people have that salted hash file remaining in ur sd card that doesn't allow to flash stuff in the newer better CWM5, thats why when u delete the Folder it stats working coz the salted hash file gets deleted!
Now you may ask why delete the folder, when u can delete the file only!!
LOL answer is simle the Android os never recognizes the file there so when u open myfiles you never find the salted hash file inside the clockworkmod folder! You can use other apps and methods to delete the file but then there is the obvious questions from noobs!!
So Moral the problem is only with that one salted hash file and not ur backup.

So you can delete the entire folder, or just the "/sdcard/clockworkmd/.salted_hash" file. This worked for me.
Correct just the salted hash needs to go, there's no need to lose your backups. If you do delete the folder next time you do a nandroid it will only get recreated without the salted hash.

Pack a custom rom

Hi, I want to create my own custom rom, I've finish them, but I've a problem.
I don't know how to pack all the files in a flashable zip, I've make a zip with 7-zip but when I try to install it, recovery say "Installation Aborted".
Someone can explain to me how to create the zip? I've an good experience on android but I haven't already create a flashable zip...
Thanks!
Would not have a clue my friend but by reading the following threads your best bet is to go to the following links
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227549
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133846
Have a look at those links and those are the best options you have to create your own rom. Enjoy
It is possible to make a simple tutorial for me, I'm french and that's too hard to understand for me. I just need to pack in a zip file flashable. Thanks you .
Wouldn't there need to be a script to tell CW what to do with the files in the package/how to install them, etc ?
I wouldn't have a clue how to do this BTW, I'm just thinking logically around what I know about the way CW works so far as installing roms/kernels goes.

still check those links i gave you above. there must be a solution or guide to tell you how to pack a rom once you are finished putting everything together.my guess is that you do need an updater script and updater binary script something like that..check on those two links and have a look..or zip the rom using powerarchiver if you are on windows
just head over to http://perka.zapto.org and look for a empty system cwm.
Now you just have to make folders in this zip and add your files. example you want framework-res.apk and systemui.apk flashed.
So open the cwm zip and add a folders called app and a folder called framework.
The zip will be/system and so with the folders it creates /system/framework/framework-res.apk and system/app/SystemUI.apk.
You can just take the signatures from the zip and add them in your future zips or just keep copying this one.
The update script shows the screens on install so change text in there and it will show on install.
Or there is a guide to Edify Scripting here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1265120

[Tutorial] How to mod files for Safestrap Alpha

I was just gonna make this little tutorial to take some work off of The actual Dev for the Project(Beastmode) thanks again for your work brother
In his newest alpha release of safe strap we're able to replace the stock rom slot with a 4.3 Touchwiz ROM, I have seen people report that they have flashed certain roms without having to do any modification, but this is a safety precaution.
First you will need your rom of choice, in this tutorial I'm using N3BULA.
Download the rom and extract the contents to a folder on your pc or phone, PC is much easier, but you can edit on your phone as well
The files you need to edit are under META-INF/COM/GOOGLE/ANDROID that's actually the only files
Im using his modified files from the dev thread for comparison.
First we'll open the Aroma-Config
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2650078&stc=1&d=1395786107
Pardon the crude screen shot method but this will show you the changes and where they are.
Modified is on the left and Stock that came with the rom is on the right. Make the Changes and save
Next is Updater-Script
Same crude method of screen shot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2650086&stc=1&d=1395786357
you can see where the two differ, so just edit that out as well.
Left is modified, Right is stock
Save Changes
Edit 3/26 you can also delete boot.img in zip
Make sure these files are on external sd card as well as the rom, boot into recovery, always make a nandroid backup, wipe and flash.\
This is the first time I have made a tutorial, so if its rough around the edges please excuse my forum newbness
if I missed anything definitely feel free to add, and once again A HUGE THANK YOU BEASTMODE.
Hopefully in a few hours or days these edits wont be needed.
how do we go about putting them into the rom zip file?
You edit them in the rom zip file... extract the rom and it moves as a zip, my case was it downloaded to storage sdcard (internal). I extracted it to ext sdcard and then went in and edited it. It still remains a zip
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk
Easy way is to use 7 zip. Extract the ROM and make the changes. Now right click on original ROM and select open archive. From there u can place the modded files. Now the ROM.zip is still flashable.

of course as soon as i posted it, i figured it out, unfortunately i can't get alliance to work afterwards, it installs but doesn't boot
I'm using alliance atm on safestrap. Don't mod anything. Just choose the stock kernel when you get to that point in the installer.
So glad to see you post that.!!! Been talking to a guy about it for about 2 hrs about it now, I actually told him it should work as long as agni wasn't chosen, thanks for clarification

I don't get it I edited the zips and then when i try to flash in recovery it just says failed? it doesn't give me a specific reason. This is for n3bula rom. But i extracted using winrar, deleted boot.img, changed the aroma config and updated zip using wordpad, zipped the rom and it doesn't seem to work. is there something i'm doing wrong?

After you deleted the boot.img there is no point in editing the rest. I used 7zip to unzip and rezip and have not had any problems yet. Winrar might be causing problems for all i know as i never use it. I'm not around my pc for the most part atm but i haven't had any problems flashing 4 or 5 roms with just deleting the boot.img.

I ended up fixing it. I tried doing it through winrar and from root explorer on my phone. The way I got it to work was actually downloading the aroma-config file and uodater-script file from the development thread that beast mode provided and changed those. Sorry for the dumb question but what do I do if the rom of choice isn't showing up on the root of my extSD?
EDIT:
Nevermind, to anyone who saw my last post(s), I'm an idiot .
Ran through Odin, re-rooted, re-installed Safestrap, now installing N3bula Rom.
Hope all goes well. And sorry for any inconvenience!
Hope my donation helped out some Beastmode!

[SOLVED] I messed this up....

I have CM 10.1.3 installed on my i9100 and I flashed the ZIP file from the thread at the bottom of this post through CWM Recovery. Now, my phone is stuck at the boot screen.
I would realllly hate to reinstall my ROM and all apps, so I'd just like to fix the problem. The ZIP makes changes to the 'SurfaceFlinger' library. Could I reflash a ZIP of the original library? Any idea how I could get the file?
surfaceflinger-fix.zip
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/development/fix-lag-fix-cm10-based-roms-cm10-t1875490
SOLUTION:
The only file that surfaceflinger-fix.zip affects is libsurfaceflinger.so. So, I tried extracting this file from a copy of the CM 10.1 zip file. libsurfaceflinger.so is located in system/lib. I then created a flashable ZIP using this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163974
I flashed the ZIP after pushing it via 'ADB push sample.zip /sdcard'. I installed the ZIP via CWM Recovery. Clear caches, reboot. STILL DIDN"T WORK.
So then I took a look a look in the META-INF folder of surfaceflinger-fix.zip and noticed some additional files that I did not have in my custom 'sample.zip'. So, I just took the libsurfaceflinger.so file that I extracted from CM 10.1 and put this file in surfaceflinger-fix.zip, replacing the original one in the ZIP file. Pushed this ZIP via ADB, everything works.
Had you taken a backup prior to flashing the zip it would've been five minutes work fixing your problem, I'm sure there's a lesson for all of us there.

This was definitely easier and this is a better fix than using a backup, but I absolutely agree with you.
