BH6X Battery - Motorola Droid X2

I have the Trident case for the Droid X2 and I was wondering if my phone will still work with this case if I get the extended batter? Will it work with either otterbox case? (defender or commuter) if it wont work with any of those cases what case will it work with?

Idk about the case you're talking about, but after I got the extended battery my case still fit after I put it in. The battery is barely bigger than the original and the door that comes with it isn't really noticeably bigger. Hope that helps.

What case do you have?

Did you get better battery life with that battery and if so how much.?

im not sure if this is happening to anyone else but I'm getting false readings with the BH6X on my x2 it tells me i have 70% when i really have like 90% it stays on 5% for like 3 4 hours but when i plug in my stock BH5X battery i get correct readings

I have the BH6X Battery on my X2 and it came with the extended door cover, but Im just using the old cover. I read that you shouldnt use it, but I didnt like how it stuck out and made my case not fit, so Ive had the original door on it for about a month now with no issues.

How much pressure is on the back with the new battery?

Got BH6X Battery and its corresponding back cover straight from VZW. Fits Otterbox Defender pretty well.

Hmmm.. it's all wrapped up in Otterbox defender now and I don't recall it being different or significantly odd that I would notied for the 1.5 weeks I carried it around without a case.

Yeah the color is off. The x2 is black. The bh6x and door is from the DROID x, which is greyish black.

Thank you both for your reply! One more thing I was wondering...how much of an increase of battery life did you get with this battery? Tia!

I use the trident kraken on my X2 and my X before that, with BH6X batteries, I dont use the battery door at all(the case does the job of the door) no problems in 10 months on the same kraken case

With the standard battery my phone would be dead by by 5 when I get home. (I start work at 7am). With the new battery, I can go easily till midnight or 2am (when I goto bed).
I also tried the extended battery from the Atrix (not sure the model number cause its at home), but it does work with the extended cover, but it puts quite a bit of pressure on the screen, and the battery life is sub par. I do not recommend using that one.

The DROID X2 stock battery cover works fine with the bh6x

Now that I just had to do a battery pull, I am confirming that the extended battery back cover for the DX2 from Verizon is the same black color as the rest of the phone. Manuf date of 4/2011. Red lettering with "x2" on it. While I am guessing that the Verizon extended battery plus cover for the Droid X would fit, I have the one for the x2 which matches color.
Extended battery with very light use (but terrible signal) lasts about 8 - 9 hours. Mostly 1x, as 3g is spotty here.

Is there a specific method to calibrate the bh6x? Just got one from amazon, seller stated it was new, and battery reporting is sketchy. Charge drops suddenly & I only get about half the life out of it as I do from the bh5x.

Did you try using the app found in the market called battery calibration?
Basically battery calibration is just wiping the battery stats from phone and allowing new one to be created with up to date info. It should also be done any time u flash a new rom to clear "false" or misleading stats and allow accurate readings

Thanks for the fast reply. While I'm familiar with the batt stats process with recovery & do it when changing roms, I was just wondering if there was anything unique about the x2 or if I got hosed with a bad battery. Hope not, seller had good feedback.
I've already drained it until the phone powered off, charged to full & wiped the stats in bsr. It just seems to drop much too fast for an extended battery. For example, I took it off the charge @ 7am & it's 9:20am now & I'm down to 41% with average use. The stock battery would be at just under 90% by now.
Update:Found Juhde has a method for bump charging posted over in the DROIDX forums. Gonna give it a shot before anything else.

There is a rubbery one that you can buy at Verizon for $15 or so. It is my understanding that the extended battery door barely extends it. It would fit in this case easily...
The Droid X2 extended battery does not extend the back but maybe a half an inch if that.. Pretty much all cases I have ran across still fit perfectly.

I would not do this. The Droid X2 and Droid X require certain types of batteries and covers to work properly.
Somehow Motorola made it so the BH5X and BH6X (Extended Battery) are the only ones that seem to properly register with battery metering. Look at the Droid X forums and you'll find tons of people that are having problems with extended batteries that aren't the BH5X and BH6X.
Also the BH6X extended battery comes with a new cover that raises the backing plate up just a little bit. If you use the one that comes with the phone it will push the battery against the back of the screen and create a ghosting effect when you touch the screen. You will also notice that the battery cover that comes with the phone says only to use with the BH5X battery.
The backing plate however only raises the back about 1.5mm which does no effect the phones use in docks and most cases (including hard cases).
The back door for the bh6x batteries can be bought on Amazon for around $10.

Mugen Power 5400mAh Extended Battery for AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-i717 w/ Battery Door

Mugen Power 5400mAh Extended Battery for AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-i717 w/ Battery Door
Just got it in the mail today. I'll post more later.
First impressions are:
1) great sturdy battery door, very good fit
2) total height is approx 11 quarters (SEE PICS)
3) adds approx 9.55mm
4) Battery weights 97 grams (FYI, OEM battery weights 50 grams)
Day 2: The included instructions said to charge the battery (in the phone) for 8-12 hrs. So I just finished that step and will report in tonight with some battery stats. I hadn't looked for cases (I didn't use one prior to getting the Mugen extended batery).
Day 3: 25 hrs on battery w/ 25% left (with moderate to heavy use throughout the day and night). I'm a true believer that this battery is the real deal. The extra thickness is a drawback but the way the battery door tapers does help some. I don't know how to test the NFC capabilities with the new battery door, maybe someone can tell me a way to do this. The inside to the battery door sure looks like it has the NFC hardware built in.
Day 4: 24 hrs since last charge with 68% battery left (low to moderate use).
Power Brick!!! Hows the battery life compared to stock?
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke
I like it... do you know if there any cases to support the extra size?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah have you found any cases? I guess I wouldn't mind then extra size for almost double their battery life. I'm guessing they Otter box won't fit on it? Also is it really that much bigger have you gotten used to it? Are all hopes lost for trying to fit it into your pocket?

How sturdy is the kickstand? Has the sound quality changed? Does it have the gold contacts for the nfc inside of the cover? Does it charge the phone and battery at the same time when plugged in? And finally, do you now walk with a limp with it in your pocket lol?

Reply: (Kickstand) The kickstand is sturdy (with no side-to-side movement when deployed at all). It stays in the battery door and only comes out when its pulled out. I guess time will tell if it stays this way. (NFC) Yes, the gold contacts are inside the battery boor. I still have not tested the NFC, mainly because I don't know how when running Gingerbread. (Charging) The phone can be on or off while the battery charges when plugged in. (Carrying Around) The size (the weight is fine) is taking some getting used to. I do like the way the extended battery door tapers.

REPLY: The battery life is noticeably more. The second night I was trying to drain it as fast as I could. After about one hour of tethering, video playback, max screen brightness, virus scanning, and continually syncing all running at the same time, the battery dropped from 35% to around 27% of charge left. I was trying to get the battery low so I could start another 8-12 hrs charge (per the battery's initializing instructions), but gave up and had to charge it the next day after lunch when the battery had 15% left.
Oh wow lol seems to be pretty good then so when you carry it do you put it I'm your pocket is it comfortable?

There is an app on the market specifically for the purposes of draining the battery as fast as possible. It does this by turning every feature on the phone on (LED for the camera, uploading data via the cellular network, screen brightness at max and several others as well), you can select manually which items you specifically dont want to use (for example, cellular data might be an issue if you are on a limited plan). You need to be careful however, draining the battery too quickly raises the temp of the battery VERY fast. I ran it on the stock battery and in 10 minutes, the battery temp jumped to over 50 degrees C (someone can convert this to F, right now Im a bit too sleepy to do the math) and drained the stock battery from 90% to 62% in this same ten minute period. Search the market for battery drain and look for a description that isnt in very good English, the screenshots will show a list of 5-8 checkboxes with things to do to drain the battery quickly.

New 3500mah extended batteries

Just saw these on eBay. They come with a different looking back cover and only cost about $10. I also saw a similar one made by Hyperion.. might be a good compromise between the oem extended (2750mAh) and the mugen (4000 mAh) if it's accurate..

Yeah it seems worth the risk of $10-15...the only thing holding me back is that I already have a diztronic extended tpu case and this new style wouldn't fit it. I might be willing to chop up one of my standard tpu cases though...I'll have to think about it..

I don't trust Hyperion. I bought a couple regular-sized batteries and one of them shorted out and overheated quite a bit. I have no problem with my Laza Zcell, which is also an intermediate between the HTC Extended and the Mugen
Truth be told I bought two of the standard size Hyperion batteries a long time ago that came with an external charger too. They were defective but Hyperion gave me a full refund and let me keep it all (I still use the charger). They told me they had been having some issues and something to the effect of "please give us some time to work out the kinks and we'll figure it out." They were very nice and helpful and I was impressed by there customer service so I'd be willing to give them another shot. (LISTEN UP HTC and Verizon! Good customer service helps in the long run! )
Edit: and no, I don't work for them or anyone for that matter!

Frankly, I'm surprised that Verizon's batteries aren't locked down so you can only recharge them on their cables and chargers. That's sort of the attitude they take with everything else they sell, isn't it?

bought a couple of hyperion standard batteries for the thunderbolt and they always died between 10-15%. Not sure I trust them. Also, that back door is fugly. I wonder if my stock extended battery cover would fit?
I tried the hyperion battery and i couldn't get any signal with the battery.
I liked the feel of the cover but the best signal I could get was 1x. even with the OEM extended battery and the hyperion cover.
The OEM cover and the hyperion battery seemed to also block my signal. Couldn't get any signal with any of the hyperion parts. I'm glad I didn't spend too much on it
Well that's disappointing...as I stated before, they were at least really nice about it when i tried their standard ones. I'm sure if you're tactful/polite they'll give you a full refund. Who knows, maybe that unnamed cheaper non Hyperion one works? I'm just a big fan of buying random cheap sh*t off eBay to see what I get. I've got some really fun stuff around the $2 range like a 3.5mm dust plug with a mini android in it, a gold stylus shaped like a feather, etc...but I digress.

Same happened to me with the back cover not getting a signal. This in turn caused the battery to die faster.

Yup. The Hyperion back seriously sucks. The OEM extended battery back fits well enough if the Rezound is in a case, though.

Well, if that's the case, it would still be 400 mAh better than the stock extended (ie 1600*2). And considering that I have almost no service at work I regularly kill my 2750 in 8-10 hours. Plus it would be nice to be able to listen to streaming music for more than 8 hours on LTE.

I am going to the trouble of actually running this thing down to near 10% before recharging (I don't want to go further because some ROMs have an anomaly where they misreport battery level). I've just finished my third discharge cycle and I'm getting 24 hours with active use of the handset, including media playback through BT, phone calls, texting, web access, etc. That's good enough for me, although I will follow-through with 2 more full discharges as instructed and see what my mileage is.
BTW, the battery works fine with the "original" Verizon Extended Battery back, so I probably will never use that crappy Hyperion back again.

Best battery for Photon?

Simply put, I use my phone... ALL THE TIME. I can barely make my battery last 4 hours with all the WIFI and YouTube and texting.

I'm sure you can find it elsewhere cheaper.
FYI all the 'extended batteries' that are the same size as stock suck.
It isn't size I want. Photon is slim as it is. I don't mind adding a few mm of thickness for a boss battery

The TREXCELL 3500 is an excellent battery that'll last all day w/moderate to heavy use.
Can't beat the price, approx. $20-$25,might find them even cheaper on eBay or AMAZON right now, saw it for $15 on one of those sites.

I'm about to post my review for this battery.
I have been using a seidio innocell battery on my photon for the last 3 months. Let me first tell you that I watch a lot of videos on my phone. The 3g is on constantly. Or Wi-Fi. The average times for discharge of battery from 100% to 0% is 16 hrs. Also I don't let my battery go below 5%. So, from personal experience I can say that this is a great battery. But it's a bit expensive. You could try other brands like Hyperion which are cheaper.

I can recommend Hyperion's 3500 mAh batteries, they work great. I have two simply because I may not be able to charge my phone everyday. I'm a very heavy user and never any access to wifi. Each battery can get me through most of a day. I spend my entire day stressing the heck out of my phone. During the few hours going to work, being at work and going home or to another job.

Each battery can get me through most of a day. I spend my entire day stressing the heck out of my phone. During the few hours going to work, being at work and going home or to another job.

Good to know about the hyperion batteries. Was originally thinking of buying them, but the few reviews that I read were not totally positive. So opted for seidio, which is a little more expensive than hyperion.
How is the quality of the back cover that is provided along with the battery?

So since yesterday, my seidio battery has been acting very strange. While charging it goes from 50% to 100% in a flash and while discharging also, the same thing happens. Can any once suggest any remedies?

Droid DNA Case w/ Built in Charging?

Does such a thing exist? The battery life on the DNA is killing me, I am considering trading this back to VZW for the Galaxy S3 since I'm still in my 14 day trial.
Basically I'm looking for a case that you "charge" and doubles as a case and a charger, once the charge on the case runs out, it goes back to the battery.

Sounds like you have a faulty device. My battery life has been nothing but excellent compared to my Galaxy Nexus. Also, the SGS III is going to get about the same battery life as the DNA.
Download the GSAM Battery app and see what is eating up your battery.
I would also love to find something like this case here http://www.mophie.com/mophie-juice-pack-PRO-iPhone-4-battery-case-p/2175_jppro-ip4-org.htm. I am coming from the Rezound myself where I always had 3 Extended batteries with me in case I killed the battery. I do think the DNA gets alot better batery life then the Rezound, however I still have to charge it 3 or 4 times in a day. I would love it if there was a case like this build for the DNA.

3-4 times a day? May I ask what you're doing that requires that? I can push 13-15 hours off the charger with 5-6 hours of screen time on.

Somethings wrong with your phone if you have to charge it 4 times in a day. There aren't enough hours in a day for that to be necessary. Even if you don't sleep and never put your phone down.

I don't need to charge my phone that often, its just I never like the idea of having by battery below 50% just in case I need to go somewhere spur of the moment where I may not be able to charge my phone either of a wall charger or car charger. I also love to play various games on my phone a lot throughout the day to waste time, play a lot YouTube for my kids, I stream all of my music since there is a huge lack of storage on this device & also have to rely on Dropbox for all of my pictures and videos. I know that I could probably get away with letting my phone go down to around 15% or so and then charging it fully and then go on about my day from there, however I just never know when I may have to leave.

I also would like to find a battery case for the HTC DNA similar to PowerSkins Battery Cases. Not because the battery is horrible on the HTC DNA but because I want to put my mind at ease for when I don't have my charger because I'm in a different car and I need to navigate to a place I've never been or something else that takes a lot of power. People see me as a computer geek and as so expect me to be able to whatever on my phone at a moments notice. Which sucks when we are at a checkout and need to use someone elses number for a pin and my battery is dead.

Why don't you just get a small external battery pack?
This is another reason I want something like this. I always hate tje fact that there are all kinds of accessories like this for the darn iPhone, however there using anything close for android.

I don't believe this is the typical way to guage a battery's life span. Basically what you are saying is that you would need to charge your battery from empty twice a day. Given the amount of use put on your phone that is extremely good. That's about 10 hours of screen on time and there are very few phones that come close to that. The note2 being the one exception I can think of off the top of my head. It's not a problem with your phone it's a symptom of how you use it.

I've been thinking of getting the PowerSkin PoP'n though I just found out about it today. I might spring for it if I have a serious issue. It would triple the size of my phone when in use.

Don't get me wrong here, I am not trying to talk down the battery performane of the DNA. I am just rough on my phones and have always been. I don' ever remember getting a full day use out of a smart phone except for when I used the EVO 3D with a Seidio 4,000 MAh extended battery. I have always been the kind of person that doesnt feel like I should limit use or features on my device just to conserve battery drain, I do know that this is all my choice and I have to deal with it. I am just looking for a good battery case or an external battery pack like this one http://www.amazon.com/13000mAh-External-Portable-Blackberry-Motorola/dp/B008AQLHFI.

Ironic, my DNA gets a few more hours of battery than my S3 does. Just to warn you so you don't start this same thread in the S3 forum....

I've also been wondering about who made some nice mophie style juicepack cases. I loved them on my iphone, I barely used it, but when I needed it certain days it was really nice to have. I'll be getting my girlfriend a DNA, and I know it's something she's been wanting also since our late poodle (RIP lil Oscar) at the top half of the one for her iphone.
I actually get about 12 hours of hard usage, with very light I've seen 30. I haven't seen better battery life on anything I've owned.

If u barely touch ya phone I'm sure ull get that battery life. In those 12 to 30 hour days what's your screen on time? If it's a hour or 2 then all that mean is the phone is good at not draining while idol which means nothing to me.

Sooooo does anybody have a lead on a charging case?
I don't think it exists for this phone closest thing your going to get is a portable battery bank which can be plugged into the device to charge it but that's about it.

I get an average of 3-4 hours screen on time per charge and that's usually stretched over 12-15 hours...
