[Q] Disable call connect/disconect tone? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Done a quick search, and haven't found any answers...
Looking to disable the tone that is played when a call is connected, and when it is disconnected.
Have probably overlooked the setting, but super keen to turn it off as it is VERY irritating!

Settings- Call- Call alert- Call Status tones.
Regards.

Ah brilliant - and I even looked in there to start with. I knew it'd be something REALLY simple, THANK YOU

new workaround for endless vibration

There's been this issue with the Nike that when you enable vibration on incoming SMS alerts, it will at a certain point vibrate endlessly, and the only way to stop the vibration is to pull out the battery (if I can recall it right, even a soft reset won't stop it).
I don't know if there has been a fix for this already but I'm just gonna post this for people who wants their phone to vibrate when receiving SMS
The workaround is really simple, just download the app OS Remind Me here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405071&highlight=hide+sim+contacts
Enable the vibration option and check the option "Unread SMS". On the "Alarm Sound" option, choose another kind of sound, one that makes less noise like the Default.wav, BECAUSE it will play at the same time with your default SMS alert tone and will mix up the sounds. Finally, make sure the program is running! Don't close it, use the "hide" function so it stays up and running.
And taadaaaaa... every time someone texts you it will vibrate
Thank you to whoever made this app!

[Q] Is there a way to disable SMS balance popup notification tone?

I am on the latest UHLPS rom.
The balance popup after I send a text message gives me a notification tone, which is very annoying.
In earlier versions this did not happen.
Can anyone help me in this?

I already checked it out.
But I am not looking for this.
This app disables the ussd popups.
But I dont want to disable the popup, instead I just dont want notification tone or vibration when it pops up.
Anyways, thanks for the concern
Hey,
just mute the phone
if you still want other sounds just mute |sounds-notifications-mute| and put |notification vibration level bar to "no vibration"| :good:

Notification sounds

So my mom and I both got ourselves an S3 and she keeps complaining about the notification sounds.
Basically there's the ringtone, and then there's notification sounds for EVERYTHING including SMS. What she wants is to have a tone for SMS and another for calls, and the rest of the notifications silent (mail, facebook etc.)
I couldn't find an option to separate sms tones from the rest, so I'm at a loss.
I hope you can help me, as google proved to be utterly useless in this case
edit: A fix that does not include going into each app and making it silent. She has no patience.. at all.

You could use Go SMS, and set up the sms notification on there. Then make the default notification for everything else to be silent in the system sound settings. Works for me.

I did consider that, but the lack of patience and hate for something that's different (She's a former apple user -.-) might get in the way. I'll ask her though. Thanks ^^
Even better, as Go SMS has an iphone theme which will make it look just like what she's used to!

To have a separate alert tone for each you need to set the tone from inside the app itself, I.e open up your sms message app press menu key press settings scroll to the bottom where it says notifications and simply alter it from there. Hope I've helped you.

Looking for an emergency notification app

Sorry if this is not the right place. i didn't see any section that seemed to be about searching for an app with specific features.
I want to setup an inbound Google Voice # on my phone to be used to contact me for emergency situations. But often, I have my volume turned down. But I never want to miss an emergency call, so I want a loud notification (kinda of like an emergency weather alert or amber alert) to play if a call comes in on this special number regardless of the current volume setting.
Are there any apps like that?
Thanks.
Maybe Essential Calls: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sifakas.essential.calls&hl=en
