About MoDaCo Custom ROMs
MoDaCo Custom ROMs are based on official ROMs - either shipping or leaked. The ROM is installed at your own risk. The ROM should be installed using ClockworkMod. A wipe IS mandatory, but if you do encounter issues, please wipe and try again before reporting them here.

Due to limits on my time and the fact that I have a large number of devices for short periods of time, it isn't possible for me to continue providing ROM updates indefinitely. Please do not donate / sign up on the assumption that future releases will be available (I don't want you to be disappointed!).
And finally...
Details on how to donate should you wish to do so are in download topic at MoDaCo.

Starting to cooking..

As a previous customer, I wouldn't recommend donating. I did so when you brought out your custom kitchen for the Desire and at a time when it was still easily the best phone on the market, you chose to dump it and devote all your time to the ZTE Blade.
I'm sure you have to develop for multiple devices to maximise your profit, but doing so as widely as you did sacrificed quality and led to a multitude of frustrated members which you then attempted to pacify by promising updated releases which never materialised.
Hopefully this problem won't repeat itself here, but buyer beware nonetheless.

No, prebake is online for anyone to download and additional prebakes are coming...
P

Nice to see Paul and team Modaco here....
respect...

I've just added 'Odex Me' to the kitchen, you can also download it as an APK here - DOWNLOAD - if downloading manually you must push it to /system/app.
Running this application (from the launcher) will reboot your device and on startup odex your /system/app directory. This will save you valuable space in /data/dalvik-cache... but remember you can't make changes to /system/framework without reflashing after you've done this. Be aware that the odexing takes a little while and should NOT be interrupted, so when the app reboots your phone, be patient.
This is currently in Beta testing, use at your own risk, backup first etc. etc., reflash ROM if you encounter any issues.
Let me know how you get one!
P
PS You can tell if it's worked it's magic because you'll have a bunch of .odex files in /system/app
PPS This SHOULD work on any ROM with init.d support, but obviously that is untested.

I'm not 'selling' his ROM, i'm offering the kitchen containing his ROM, along with my other kitchens (including my own ROMs), only to my premium members to manage server load and help fund the dedicated server it runs on.
I'm actively working to allow chefs to make their ROMs available themselves too.
The MoDaCo premium memberships have been running for many years (probably about 6) and are not directly related to the kitchen.
I did ask Cyanogen's permission to put his ROMs into the online kitchen.

Not to mention the fact that there's no obligation to sign up, if you don't want to, don't, that's cool.
I totally appreciate there are plenty of people out there who think everything should be free, any costs involved with doing anything should be covered by someone else and who will have a problem with anyone who does anything otherwise. I also know that there are people who have signed up to MoDaCo Ad Free or MoDaCo Plus for whatever reason (be it related to the kitchen or not, there are plenty in both camps) who are enjoying cooking their own ROMs online and are happy to do so.

Odd. I installed .29 with the extra RAM and the phone would keep rebooting every few minutes when connected via USB to my notebook.

Odd indeed. I'm running .29 with the extra RAM and it's sweet.

I was just going to comment on how MoDaCo has managed to make money on Cyanogen's hard work.
Hopefully CM is getting a cut.
Personally, I'll wait for releases from the man himself.
EDIT: I appreciate the work MoDaCo has done to deliver custom cooked ROMs, and its a pretty clever delivery mechanism, but I guess it seems shady not to at least cut the developers in on the profits, especially after the mini-rant above about how "some people think everything should be free or paid for by others, etc." Seems a bit hypocritical not to cut in the devs for essentially supplying the product. It would be like Google selling our apps in the Market but keeping 100% of the profits just for the privilege of using them as a delivery mechanism.
maxawesome...
- MoDaCo Plus and Ad Free have been running (successfully) for at least 6 years, this is one of a number of benefits to the premium MoDaCo membership, which is what your payment buys you
- Most of the ROMs in the online kitchen are my own ROMs
- MoDaCo members asked me if I was going to put other Cyanogen's ROM into a kitchen, so I asked him if I could
- A number of ROM dev's have asked me to give them the ability to put their own ROMs into a kitchen on MoDaCo
- I imagine satisfied users, like myself, will donate to Cyanogen if they feel they get the value from the ROM. I don't see their MoDaCo membership making a difference to that
- There are tangible costs to running the kitchen, not to mention development time (as many of us know so well)
- Most of the ROMs posted on here are derivative of other people's work in some way
I fully appreciate of course that everyone is welcome to their opinion, and you have yours.

thanks very much !! gonna try and cook this rom
Thank you
Will flash and report...
So basically, the the motivation for one to use this rom vs. Cyanogen's ROM comes down to user preference? Sorry if I sound stupid, I am very greatful for the work all the dev's do for the community, just wondering what benefits might be gained from using this ROM vs. Cyanogen's i.e. performance gains.
the rom is very fast buddy thanks .... but how can i disable se request ?
but I feel that Cyanogen's build has good in term of battery life.
anyone can confirm? I even using the ER27 still not good

Benchmarks
Here are some benchmark results:
Benchmarks are NOT after a fresh install and are NOT necessarily after a reset ... so may not be as fast as if they were
Green = better than previous ROM base
Red = worse than previous ROM base
ROM 1.1 -> - Base 2.26.1530.3 Videotron:
AnTutu Benchmark: 3668
GPU Bench: 30522 / 23790
Quadrant Standard: 2152
ROM 0.99B -1.0 - Base 2.00.405.3 Flyer:
AnTutu Benchmark: 3655
GPU Bench: 32727 / 24578
Quadrant Standard: 2256
Note:some tests are capped at 60fps as this is the refresh rate of the Flyer -
Hence why I did not bother with NeoCore etc as it always hits the cap!
All tests are done in sets of 3, with the best result recorded

Procedure
If you have not already done so you will need to s-off your device.
To do this follow the instructions at http://revolutionary.io
When doing this be sure to Install Clockwork recovery when prompted
To open clockwork you just need to turn on your device (from a cold start by disabling fastboot first), then turn it on again with the volume down button held. If done correctly you should get the bootloader from which you can enter Clockwork by selecting recovery.
The procedure for flashing should be:
Put the update zip file on your SD Card (not the internal storage) by connecting your Flyer to your computer
Backup existing ROM through Clockwork in case something goes terribly wrong!(or other backup tool)
Wipe Data/Factory reset (not always required but HIGHLY recommended) if flashing from another ROM (not i00 ROM) - if there are steps required for an update (from one version of i00 ROM to another) I will post the details in the Version Info
Flash new ROM through Clockwork (through install zip from SD card)

Common Questions
OK thought I'd put together a list of common questions that people have with this ROM to stop me answering the same questions again and again.
Q: What else is included in the ROM
A: Besides the Base apps from HTC and Google ... not alot - Superuser (for other changes see the change log above)
Q: I flashed and now my system apps keep force closing
A: Did you wipe data/factory reset?
Issues
Phone doesn't display properly when initially opening in landscape
Speed dial option under phone force closes

Got anything you want to see in the next update? - let me know
Post the eact version of the FLYER, WIFI/WIFI+3G etc for the ROM. You don't want to be blamed for someone doing something stupid.
congrats on getting out the first custom rom. I'm actually working my way through HTC Android Kitchen on the view. Do you know if there is anyway to create a rom that will service both the view, flyer3g and the wifi flyer?

Since the spec of the devices almost the same, I believe the ROM can meet all of them, maybe the kernel/radio will be different.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Once we all get our custom roms out and compile our own kernels from scratch, it might be fun to do a one rom to rule them all like synergy over on the evo 4g. Waiting on my ubuntu install to finish updating right now before I start working on a view 4g rom

No .. and this is because I don't think it's broken...
The whole point of the device fingerprint is so that it can be identified for compatibility... Google has a master list of keys that correspond with device specs - such as resolution etc...
When someone posts an application on the market they can specify if they only want it for certain devices / resolutions etc and the market will only return the applications specified that meet the criteria of the device.
Identifying the Flyer as another device (imo) is not a fix, and as stated, I don't believe this is even an issue, it is up to the app dev's to know what their software works on and make their market posts accordingly.

[ROM] zerorom v0.4 (GSM/CDMA, CWM Install)

Hi everyone... here's my first crack at a custom ROM for the Xperia Play. And this is very beta. Once things get more solid, I'll make this first post a lot more proper. As it stands, this is for people who aren't worried about being on the edge.

Data, SMS, MMS, Wifi, Home button, back button, Google Voice Navigation all working.
Installation instructions:
I've been trying to get a proper flashable update.zip which would include the DoomKernel, however I have been getting bootloops, so for now, installing consists of restoring a Nandroid backup. This, of course, requires a kernel with CWM recovery, so you must already have DoomKernel installed at the moment.
These instructions will get much more properly fleshed out later on.
Quick and dirty steps:
1) Enter Recovery menu with preflashed DoomKernel.
2) Wipe all userdata
3) Wipe all caches
4) Wipe Dalvik Cache
5) Install the zerorom zip from your SD card.
At this point, reboot and you should be booting into the ROM. There's a good chance you'll see the boot logo two or three times before it boots properly. This is normal and no reason to be alarmed. This is basically the dalvik2cache and zipalign scripts running.
CDMA Users:
Install with the same build as below. Follow the same instructions. As long as you have not wiped /system when you attempt to install zerorom, it will detect that you are running on CDMA. It checks this by going by what your /system/build.prop says. If that file does not exist, installation could fail.
Installation failure when /system is wiped before install:
If you are missing /system/build.prop, you could write the following into a text file: "ro.product.device = R800x" for CDMA users or "ro.product.device = R800i" for GSM users. Then push this file to /system/build.prop. Then restart installation and you should be good.

Got a lot of plans in the future for this ROM. Let me know what you think if you take the time to try it out.
Changelog/Roadmap:
v0.5 - Update zips for each version from now on, startup script control, nano/bash included.
v0.4 - CDMA and GSM support in a single installation, hacked Google Maps 5.10.0 with worldwide navigation, loopy smoothness tweaks and V6 SuperCharger memory management scripts on startup. PNG optimized.
v0.3 - Restarted from scratch. Added Google Talk with video. Added new theme. Switched to Launcher Pro from ADW Launcher. Removed more apps. Added new bootanimation. Turned off auto-brightness settings. Turned off most camera sounds. SQLite vacuum on boot. Yet more stuff.
V0.2.1 - Readd Sony Ericsson settings application to fix Messaging app force close when attemping to enter its settings.
V0.2 - Removed Facebook, Sony Ericsson custom Facebook integration, Sony Ericsson sync clients, Sony Ericsson LiveView manager. Added romname/version to build.prop so it is displayed to the user.
V0.1 - Initial release.
Possible future plans and progress:

Switch to Google DNS servers? - Initial look into it complete, reevaluating soon.
Apps2SD - Nothing done yet.
Various build.prop/performance tweaks - 50% complete
Use zerorom as the basis for a rom devoted towards the emulator/gamer - Nothing done yet, waiting for this ROM to be complete.
PNG optimization - 100% complete.

SD Card speedup - Nothing done yet.
Alternate font - Nothing done yet.

Don't go that way: in Sony's Xperia line for this year, kernels are not flasheable through recovery, because the recovery must be contained in the kernel. Thus, kernels must be flashed with fastboot, separate from the rest.

Is there any source for this info?
As for Facebook, I'm looking deeper into how tied it is to the other apps. It's definitely something that will probably disappear soon.

If that helps you some, in my old system image GP2Xperia I made Facebook in its wholeness disappear from the phone. It's just a couple of apk's, nothing to be worried about. However, you may want to prepare a Facebook-adding update.zip just in case.

I removed it completely as a test (along with SE Syncing tools and their custom FB stuff) and found that simply installing FB from the market brings back most of what you'd get anyways, so it'll be removed from the next version. Liveware Manager will also be removed since it can just be installed from the market.

i said thank you (though not in those 2 words), gave the dev a thumbs up, and am currently running the rom to test it out and feed back to the dev any issues (if any) there may be in this package. i was just merely pointing out that in my eyes, fb is bloat and (to me) not as clean as i'd hoped.
so far it is a good rom, funcional, and a very good start for the devs first play attempt in a very limited custom rom world (for the play, at the moment), and i greatly look forward to future releases
v0.2 is in the middle of uploading. Sorry, no update.zip to update to the new version yet. I'll start creating those soon.
SE Sync, SE Facebook, Facebook, LiveWare all removed. Added rom name/version to build.prop.
EDIT: Done uploading, link: http://www.multiupload.com/3W86RKRKOM
My facebook patch will work fine

A big hello to everyone seems to be the right words to start with.
A couple of weeks ago i've decided to say goodbye to HTC after many years and got my hands on a Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Running around with a stock version felt bad so i've started flashing custom roms within 2 hours after unboxing it. After flashing many of the custom roms i started working on a pesonal rom and started off with the DevBase by ALEXNDR and went on until i had a stable deodexed version with just those tiny changes to make my day. Now i think it's time to share the rom and find out what all of you think about it. Don`t forget i`m new to the world of Samsung and learning every single day, don`t expect high class development at first, it will get better as we roll.
Main goal of this thread and rom is to create a smooth and most of all stable rom that is friendly towards the battery, there's enought higly developed roms out there for those that seek all the extra`s for their daily driver. I will start providing flashable zips containing fixes, mods and add-ons once i get to know my way around the N4 and Samsungs way of buiding their roms.
Please read all the info posted in this thread before flashing! Make sure you know what you're doing just to be on the safe side. Before posting anything i have tested and flashed it many times but this doesn`t mean there is no risk involved in flashing my work. I'm not responsible for bricked devices or other issues you may face after flashing my work! Keep this in mind when you decide to flash anything provided in this thread.
Changelog between ALEXANDR's DevBase BOD2 and Project N4 B1.1:
- Fully Deodexed
- Added 5 way Reboot options
- pushed device overall volume a little less compared to B1.0
- Added Modded Camera
- Added Modded Telecom.apk removing ascending ringtone volume
- Cleaned the app list without loosing functionality
- Added Latest AdBlocking hosts file
- Added Memory Leak Fix ( thanks to robocik )
Note:
You'll need the latest modem and bootloader files to run this rom, if you`re running the wrong versions you`ll end up in a bootloop! The proper modem and bootloader files can be found in the download folder along with the Rom zip. I trust you all know how to use Odin in order to flash them
Changelog between ALEXANDR's DevBase BOC5 and Project N4 B1.0:
- Fully Deodexed
- Added 5 way Reboot options
- pushed device overall volume
- Cleaned the app list without loosing functionality
- Added Latest AdBlocking hosts file
- Added Memory Leak Fix ( thanks to robocik )
None as far as i know, so please share if you find one.
Always make sure you're running latest bootloader and modem before flashing this rom to prevent bootloop.
Also make sure you're running latest TWRP of CWM recovery.
Download the rom zip file and check MD5 checksum.
Copy the rom zip file to your (ext.) storage.
Reboot in to recovery and flash the rom zip file.
When flashing is done reboot your device and wait patiently untill the boot finishes ( This can take a while ).
When you're on stock before flashing this no wipe is needed for a safe flash, if you're running a different rom
or when you do run in to trouble a wipe in recovery will save your day,
@Chainfire

@LeeDroid just for being my friend, tutor and master in development.
@The Great Dane for becomming my friend and putting up with me even in the darkers hours. Thank you for seeing the things the way i see them and backing me up in times of need!
Since this is based on ALEXANDR DevBase all additional options also go for this rom. Visit his thread and thank him for his hard work! Below i copy/pasted the additional features ( i know i`m lazy ) hoping he won`t mind. Please let me know if you do mind my lazyness so i can remove the text below.
Additional info that comes with this ALEXNDR.N910FXXU1BOC5 based rom:
1. Base:
- Multi CSC (list of natively supported CSC as above) (*)
- Removed KNOX (apps, agent, container, etc..)
- Rooted (SuperSU 2.46 app + binary), BusyBox 1.23.1
- Odexed (original, untouched framework & apps)
- All original features are present and works
- Able to write to extSdCard by all applications
- No visual changes (100% stock look)
- Stock kernel
- Safe De-Bloated (more info below)What does it mean and why is it called "safe"?
- ONLY apps available in stores are removed from DevBase, so you can easy (re)install any of these app if you like
- ONLY pre-installed system apps are removed, DevBase installer never touch any updated app nor app installed manually from store
Thus, the following conclusions can be drawn:
1. If you install my DevBase directly over stock ROM without performing "Wipe data" - in most cases almost all these apps will remain untouched, because almost all apps have been updated already (stored on /data). But then you will be able to remove any useless app using the "Application manager", like any other app. Removed manually app will not appear again until you use my DevBase while updating.
2. If you perform "Wipe data" while installing my DevBase - then all apps listed below will be removed. If you would like to use any of these apps - just install it manually from appropriate store. Installed manually app will not be removed during the next DevBase update.
Removed apps list:
Chrome
Drive
Dropbox
Evernote
Facebook
FB Messenger
FB Pages Manager
Flipboard
Google+ / Photos
Hangouts
Instagram
PEN.UP
Play Books
Play Games

Footnote:
After being around in the HTC corners of XDA it`s very nice to find out how kind the developers are within the Note 4 section of our beloved forums! Didn`t expect to meet so many nice people after having my share of "*****fights" in the HTC section. I do hope to make some new friends on this side, and will never forget the few friends that sticked with me in the HTC section.

Always check MD5 Checksum when you decide to flash the rom! Damaged or incomplete files can (soft) brick your phone!
WinMD5Free is a tiny and fast utility to compute MD5 hash value for files. Download WinMD5 and use it before flashing.

If only I could, HTC features all hang on HTC Framework and Launcher so I don't think we've got much chance of porting it to the Note 4.

I will as soon as I update the rom, still hoping to get some feedback to find out if the rom is also stable and smooth for others.
Thanks for your great job!
Could you please add volume buttons skip tracks function?
I think that would be amazing, nobody did it until now and it's something very useful.
Cheers.

I will do my best, if this was a request on the one M8 or M9 it would be no problem at all, being new to Samsung means i have to find my way around so no promises.

Thanks for your feedback, i`m glad it worked out for you.
Currently uploading the latest BOD2 based version, guess i should have waited one day before going public. If Samsung stays away from another update in the near future i will find some time to start working on flashable MOD zips.
