THx,
I already found out how to root and install honeycomb 3.0.1..
apparently to those who seek the same answer i use z4root to root the tablet.. then i install ROM MANAGER and choose advent vega
install clockworkmod from there and boot to recovery.
once into recovery, i installed the vegacomb now i have honeycomb
not sure if i'm on the right track there.. but it works for me

Ey, i have same tablet. Im trying to do same that you but i just restart with vegacomb beta 7, updated with beta 8 and it restarts ever. What versions did you use?
Do you know how could i kill this restart and restart and restart...
Regards.

I answer myself. I just done with Vegatools 4.0 and VegaModdedStock 1.10 v2 ^_^
At now i have an issue with screen touch... it doesn't recognize fine at all gestures and touches... :/

Wait you can run Vegan 3.2 on the Gtab?!
How?!

viewsonic viewpad with Honeycomb
I just installed Honeycomb (Android 3.2) on my viewsonic and it worked great.
go to the "code google android-x86 download list" site.
It is the first on on the List. This is a iso file so you need to convert it to run on a usb drive.
I also want to thank the tegav people.
This workd great!!!!!

Gingerbread roms need a certain partition order to work. They are not 1.2 roms. 1.2 is a locked bootloader not a rom. You have a zpad and its close to a gtab but several people have bricked their tabs nvflashing gtab stuff on a zpad so beware. I would look for a zpad forum instead of a gtab forum
thx for your reply .
i didn t use NVFlash, only install rom via CWM 8.
gonna try tonight NVFlash
a talked about 1.1 and 1.2 Roms as i saw that come with NVFlash 2 Stock roms that are libelled as 1.1 and 1.2 in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950
best regards,
Alain
The point was that some gtabs can not run gingerbread roms without nvflashing their partition structure to the correct format. I do know that you will brick your zpad if you use gtab nvflash

[Q] Help please !!!

I bought a Gtab last week and today I install VEGAn-GE-7.0.0-RC1-Harmony-signed but I dont like it... how can i turn my previeous one that comes installet with gtab...
another question how can i watch movies on this thing nothing works here :S
p.s sorry for my bad english
Go to my website at the following link.
http://viewsonic-gtablet-for-dummies.webs.com/starthere.htm
Use code yellow. Any of the froyo roms listed in the ROM page will be much better than vegan ginger and the stock.
The reason you're having a bad experience with video in vegan ginger is because ginger does not have full hardware acceleration. But the froyo roms do.
PS - Where you from?
from albania
which is the best froyo ???

Any froyo rom will do. My personal favorite is calkulin+clemsyn combo.

Porting a ROM !!!????

Good morning ... sorry for my bad English, i am Italian.
It is possible to make a porting of another rom (eg. Motorola Xoom, Acer Iconia etc..) to have in our tablets HC 3.2.
I say this, because before I had installed an Acer Iconia HC 3.2 of a motorola Xoom before the official version with a cooked rom.
All these devices are based on nvidia Tegra2, then 90% are the same, right? or not?
You can do this?

Task and Phantom tried to port over a rom from xoom but could not release it because drivers not working proper for wifi and some other things.
You "can" but it might take a lot of effort to get it ported correctly.

Their 4.0 image is full of problems.
It's really slow and it loses WiFi connectivity randomly. I'd like to build a device tree for it so I can build Codename Android.

[Q] 101 IT roms

Hi all be patient with a noob.
I have a couple of ZTE phones which i have rooted and installed roms on so not totally clueless.
Now to the point I have unfortunately bought myself or should I say my wife 2 yes thats 2 Archos door stops.
One is a 101 IT G8 the other is a arnovatech 10 G2 (designed by archos).
The 10 G2 needs a power jack plug repair (nothing new there then) and I will looking elsewhere for advice on that one.
The 101 IT needs some work to make it easier for her to download her favorite games from google play, play store or whatever its called now.
So which do users feel is the best rom to use on this tablet based on stability, I know the most stable will be stock rom but this does not have google play?.
Hello
you can install google play with arctools (you find it in applibs)

yes had thought about doing that but still wondering which is one of the better roms to use.
some people says urukdroid, some says original rooted rom, some says gingerbread...
first install SDE on your archos then install all disponible rom (degu, urukdroid, ICS ) then try them
for me the best rom ist GB (degu version) but for a lot of people it's urukdroid

Thanks for that, with a lack of response i'll leave it as is and just put market on via arctools.
Only problem with that is flashplayer is not gonna work, so she wont be able to watch videos or play her facebook games until i can get the apk file sorted.
I have flash player installed on my archos, normally on the first page of applibs
