With TheGingerMOD you can choose, if you want to use SetCPU to manually control CPU speed and governors
or
you can let it be done by new O/C Daemon made by rmk40.
This solution gives much better performance !!!
If you decide to use SetCPU, the O/C daemon wont affect you in any way, it will be not active.
If you want to use O/C Daemon, then read this small guide:
1- Remove any O/C tools like SetCPU, NoFrills, CPU Tuner, CPU Master etc. and reboot your device 2 times !
2- With O/C Daemon the frequencies are following:

wake_max_freq = 1200000 (1.2 GHz)
sleep_min_freq = 150000 (100 MHz)

With my test I Had a VERY bettery battery life AND MUCH better smoothness and performances!
3- If you decide to change the CPU frequencies yourself, it's very simple to do.
Just use The NEW Option in Settings->CPU SETTINGS
I do not recommend changing governors. Don't use SmartAss governor with new O/C Daemon. I recommend leaving default governors.

A: Its because of some minor aestetic changes, flash the BLN-PATCH you find in the downloads!! If you want COMPLETE AOSP look but notifications, use NoLed

A: If so this is NOT the rom for YOU there are MANY FABOULOUS rom WITH TW... this has another goal! If you miss only some apps, you'll find it in Main Topic!!

A: You can:
1- Install SamsungGallery from my packages
2- put the image you want in /sdcard/wallpaper, go in GingerMOD Extras>Extras and change the wallpaper
if you do the "2", remember to have ONLY ONE IMAGE AT TIME in /sdcard/wallpaper!

Looks good mate, if I flash the kies addon that should give me back kies air, i find it quite useful. Normal kies is still just a pain

Great point of view. Just like what I wanted about last week ago. I love AOSP, but some Samsung's feature i want, so i have to stay on samsung rom. so tilt to zoom working i guess?

Update: Rebooting the device fixed Market FC
Wow.... flashed right away and this is the most speedy ROM i've ever used.
One problem I'm facing is the Market just keep FC-ing, others are quite good indeed

One glitch : When i put in the headphones there is no icon in the taskbar that they are plugged in.
It does not matter if the headphones are the original Samsung ones or other (like headphones from my HTC HD2)

How to install - Use RevolutionROM Kitchen
Note
Make sure you have the latest Revolution Rom kitchen running in your phone
It may happen that after a package has been installed from the Revolution Kitchen Pro app, on the first boot you phone hangs at the Revolution logo, just long press power button and restart your phone!
I'd like to point out that i am not responsible for any issue with your phone! Also it's highly recommended to backup efs folder before to start playing with your phone!

No, it won't be possible to have a permanet user desktop agent string with this odexed browser.
You can still type "about:useragent" as url and choose whatever you like!

I think so, btw after you got your framework-res back from the kitchen it is compressed and it could cause some bootloop issue!
Just to make sure that everything goes good try the following:
rename framework-res.apk to .zip
use winrar and unzip it
now you should see 5 files select all and add to archive, select store as compression level and zip as type
rename it to .apk and push it back in your phone!
Hi LEOMAR75! This looks like an amazing 2.3.4 ROM! Is it possible to have hardware accellerated 3rd party browsers? I like the stock browser cos it's Hardware Accellerated, but tried other browsers just isn't as smooth (like butter) as the stock browser. I do like the 3rd party browser's additional features and ease of use too though, just not smooth like this stock one!!!

But i have only a trouble... i must change default Samsung calendar with stock aosp one. I have tried the calendar.apk. and the calendarprovider.apk from villaintweaks, by pulserg2 but doesn't works.
How i can do this? I have tried the one from miui, from nexus s, but no one works. With these the calendar chrash immediately. With the pulserg2 crash when setting calendars with option key....

Try to use Gscript app (preinstalled) and add, load and save the three preloaded bloatware scripts! Go back to the main page and select backup and then delete!
The delete script will reboot your phone automatically!
Now try to put your calendar!

HOW TO INSTALL:
HAVE AT LEAST 50% BATTERY BEFORE STARTING!
1.
Make sure you are running the latest SE stock kernel and baseband .71.
2.
Boot into xRecovery (or CWM if your running a unlocked bootmenu kernel)
and make a NANDROID BACKUP (this is really IMPORTANT, as we can't recover your data!)
ALL YOUR DATA AND APPS WILL BE DELETED AFTER THIS POINT
3.
If not in xRecovery boot into it
4.
Do a Factory Reset (Full Wipe)!
5.
Flash the "TEAM_ROM_v3.8.zip" via xRecovery.
5.
Flash the "TEAM_ROM_v3.8-v4.0.zip" via xRecovery.
6.
Reboot and let the phone do it's thing as it will be rebuilding caches and settling.
First boot can take UP TO 5 minutes so be patient!
7.
After first boot, do your normal thing with setting up your accounts.
8.
Choose a Home Launcher!
***Optional if you choose ADW***
9.
Once you are on you Home Screen, Press the Menu Button
10.
Select More>ADWSettings>Themes Preferences>Select your Theme>Pick "Sony Launchifier"

Q: Where are all the addons?
A: In AppMan check your app drawer for the Superman-droid icon. That's AppMan!
Q: Can I install xLOUD?
A: Yes! But it is proven to damage the speaker, so we have also included DSP manager so you can increase the volume. ALWAYS BE CAREFUL when stressing your hardware's limits! We are not to be held responsible for any damages to the fragile speaker on your phone.
Q: Can I use this or that kernel for unlock or locked bootloader?
ALL kernels built for stock ROMs WILL WORK on this rom. We have tested all of them and we recommend ThKernel 029e, which you can find as an addon in AppMan.
WARNING: If you are using a Bypass Kernel it will be removed when the ROM is installed and you will just need to reflash it after flashing the ROM.
If you are using a Replacement Kernel(Unlocked Bootloader) then there will be no effect.
Q: Can I use this or that theme?
A: Short answer, no. Unless of course it is built of our framework. We have made MASSIVE mods to the framework so most themes will disable most, if not all, options in the Tweaks app.

A: NO. We can't help you. Because what you just said means nothing to us.

First boot might take a bit longer than usual, because the cache and dalvik cache will be wiped during flashing.
Also, for the first few minutes after boot, phone might be a little laggy, as caches are being rebuilt.
It should catch up very quickly though!

Each device has unique tolerance in overclock/undervolt, so you have to experiment yourself.

First of all, THANKS to everybody for their support in this attempt!
25/8/2011: I am updating this post with the results I got from testing all the custom kernels available, up to today.
It was an amazing ride and our developers have really produced great enhancements for our phones!
Also, let me note one more time, T.E.A.M ROM is stock ROM, so this review applies to any stock and stock based ROM (as long as there are no tweaks conflicting with the boot.img).
First of all, the apps I used to measure the kernels' features performance
are: CPUSpy and NoFrills CPU Control (was a fan of SetcPU, but Nofrills is simpler and somehow I got over my Profiles obsession ).
1. [KERNEL] zKernel | 2.6.29 | for 2.3.3 stock ROM | 19/08/2011
This is an "old-time classic"! U MAD???

- FPS cap removed
- overclocked
- added extra frequencies
- in-call volume increased
- TUN/TAP support (VPN)
- CIFS support
- debugging disabled for improved performance
- enabled ThumbEE CPU extension

Performance and speed with the >998 frequencies are great,
but in my case the phone got too hot above 998 MHz.
In-call volume is increased and there's no distortion, which is very very nice!
There's no undervolt, so nothing to report there.
Overall, it's very stable, faced no problems while using it,
but wanted to try undervolt, so moved on to other kernels.
Of course, I know my device actually can handle undervolt, so if you
had bad experiences with undervolting before, this is definitely the kernel for you.
2. 2.3 Th_kernel_023.2
The latest kernel from 24/8 seems to pack some neat features,
but unfortunately got stuck at boot logo when I installed it,
so no review here. I am sure ThJap will sort it out soon enough!
3. [KERNEL][X10] DooMKernel - "Power to The People" [Rel:v03d][Dt:26/08][FW3.0.1.G.0.75]
This is my personal favorite. The latest version, 03d, runs very very stable
on my phone.
The VDD controls are a great way to discover and use the best undervolting settings for your device!
I made a startup script and set the voltages to:
128000 Hz - 875 V
192000 Hz - 900 V
245760 Hz - 925 V
384000 Hz - 950 V
460800 Hz - 975 V
576000 Hz - 1000 V
652800 Hz - 1050 V
768000 Hz - 1100 V
844800 Hz - 1150 V
921600 Hz - 1200 V
998400 Hz - 1250 V
I use minmax governor and you can see what I personally feel about other governors here.
With the latest update, ondemand and interactive seem to be fixed and lag has been eliminated,
but I am still testing.
All in all, what's important for you to know is that all the custom kernels work in this ROM!
You just need to flash the zip and then wipe cache and dalvik cache in xRecovery before rebooting.
As simple as that!
Don't be afraid to try, don't forget that you are as good as your last backup
and come here to report your experience with custom kernels!

About the ROM: (Must Read before you start using the ROM)
I have a lot to work on, so please be patient. I seriously don't want to upload unfinished work.
So the new concept that i have implemented in my ROM
We will have a Base ROM that will have all the Stuff in it that includes all my hacks i.e a all in one package which will be normally themed/with little bit of eye candy.
Then we will have themes that will be specifically based on my ROM so that you guys will get the best out of the ROM.
Also you as the user will have the freedom to choose what type of theme you require.
I have more plans in the future and i will keep all of you posted on that.

Odex:
Every android application comes with the extention '.apk'. Packaged with every apk is a .odex file which contains parts of the application which helps speed up the boot process and preloads it.
an odex file is an optimized version of a classes.dex file that has optimizations that are device specific. In particular, an odex file has dependencies on every "BOOTCLASSPATH" file that is loaded when it is generated. The odex file is only valid when used with these exact BOOTCLASSPATH files. dalvik enforces this by storing a checksum of each file that the odex file is dependent on, and ensuring that the checksum for each file matches when the odex file is loaded.

Deodex:
Deodexing is a way of repackaging the apk such that it is reassembled into the classes.dex file. Everything is put together in one place, and this is helpful because it eliminates any chances of a modified apk conflicting with other odexed parts.
to deodex a file using baksmali, it has to load every BOOTCLASSPATH file that the odex depends on. By default, baksmali will try to find the 5 "core" BOOTCLASSPATH files in the current directory. It can use either a jar/apk (with a classes.dex inside), or an odex file

So to sum up everything, a .dex file contains the cache used by Dalvik VM during boot and this .dex file is located inside the application. On the other hand, .odex file is an optimized version of the same .dex file but it is located outside the application.
What do I lose/gain using odex/deodexed ROM?
The upper hand deodexed rom has over odexed is integration. Every ROM maker loves deodexing the rom because of two main reasons:
Modification of apk becomes easier
ROM is open to theme modifications
So, as an end used, you would most likely want to have a deodexed version of a ROM to take full advantage of android freedom. However, note that you won't lose out on performance in an odexed ROM.
Q)Which Theme to flash or will this theme work
A: Any theme that is built for XXKH3 Deodexed is flashable with the ROM.
But the only Downfall to this is that you will end up loosing a few features like Jkay Themes app!!
Now the Themes that dev the Themes at Checkrom.com or our official themes dev's who make themes for us make there respective themes over CheckROM so when u flash there themes you don't lose any features
Q: How this ROM is different from others ?
A: This ROM is heavily modded with a custom theme, features, apps etc and also has my personal tweaks and improvements.

You can find the application under your Menu -> Settings
AndroidMeda Rom Tool:
- Roms tab - Shows the currently available ROMs on the file server for download. It may include stable versions as well as beta versions for testing.
- Extra tab - This currently has the Surgeons, Themes and Kernel. One would need to press Menu -> Configuration, then "Extra Update Settings -> Manage Extra Servers. Press Menu again and click on "Update Feature Extra Servers"
- Existing tab - This currently shows the files that you have downloaded.
AndroidMeda Tweaks:
- DPI Changer - Alter your DPI quickly and effectively, with minimal typing
- mDNIe Switcher - Select from a various lists of mdnie profiles (this list will be populated with custom profiles with time)
- Backup battery stats - Backup your batterystats prior to a full wipe and Restore when needed
- Personalization includes:
*Mounting Options * Gps Options * Wake Options *RTL Patch *Bootsound Options
- Fix Permissions - Advanced Users only. Should you need to Fix your Permissions, select this option. Mind you it takes time, and will reset Jkay Deluxe Settings

- Restart TouchWiz Launcher - This option restart TouchWiz Launcher after sorting, or whenever needed

Not rooted yet / no Custom ROM
(Details of how to root are out of the scope of this guide, please do a search at XDA for more information)
Root phone by flashing a kernel thats auto root (CF root, Siyah, etc...) or any other way that gives you root and cwm.
Copy downloaded ROM zip file in root dir of sd card.
Boot to recovery.
Wipe Data/cache/dalvik cache.
Flash zip from internal sd card.
The first boot would take some time as the dalvik cache is rebuilt, dont panick!!
Already rooted / on Custom ROM

Flashing Surgeons and themes - Quick reckoner
Surgeon = DPI change + Remove Bloatware (make changes in the update script as you think fit) + Tweaks & Apps + Theme (includes boot logo and boot anim)
To flash a new surgeon, flash base again (since base is full wipe, take backup of apps/user data through titanium, darky OTA etc...)
Flash base + surgeon/Flash base + theme: Wipe cache, dalvik cache and flash.
To flash a theme on top of a surgeon or on an exisiting theme, flash the stock Samsung theme FIRST and then go ahead with flashing the new theme.

Instructions for Current OTA APP:
Go To Settings
Open up HyperDroid Parts
Select AndroidMeda Rom Tool
Select Extras Tab
Press menu and click on Configuration
Select Extra Update Settings
Select Manage Extra Servers
Click menu and select Update Featured Extra Servers
Now click menu again and select Enable
Select Enable all Extra Servers from the menu
click back, back, back
Press menu and select Check now
And there you should have it.

Hello fellow XDA user! Welcome to the Virginity ROM, a clean and fast stock ROM that will blow your mind!
I decided to create this ROM since not a single already existing ROM in this forum seemed to fit me. Most of them lack features I like, some are too heavy, some don't have GPS working for me and others are, in my opinion, really bad themed. This is my first work on Android ROMs, so I thought a good name for it would be Virginity :angel: and since its name is so pure, I decided to give it a not-so-pure logo and in the end the thing didn't look that bad!
I like the stock TouchWiz look, so don't expect seeing any theme modifications. Also, I like a clean ROM free of heavy apps, so don't expect to see those in here too. If you're looking for themes and apps, look through the Themes and Apps - there are lots of things to try on there, and most of them will work perfectly on Virginity.

Virginity V3+ bundles a custom stock kernel modified by me. I did this because I really enjoy abyssplug governor + sio I/O scheduler, which gives an amazing performance + battery life. I did no other changes but adding governors and I/O schedulers because I still don't have enough experience to do more, and I didn't want to break things.
abyssplug, minmax, hotplug, interactive and smartassv2 governors

nice to see another ROM for our s3 mini.
But it is not recommendable to implement crossbreeder as standard.
Somebody (like me) want to choose their own script such as Operation Killjoy.
So it make sense to delete Crossbreeder from base-ROM cause users should decide after flashing, which script to use (or not)

to delete crossbreeder just open virginity.zip with winrar (do not extract only open it), go to /system/etc and delete crossbreeder folder
Virginity V2 is out! I'm sorry this was launched on the same day as the other release, but I decided to remove crossbreed from the ROM so you guys can use whatever you want. I promise the next version won't come this soon

i flashed this ROM, modded some system-apk´s and change other things.
What can i say: it is just awesome. Very fast, smooth and stable.
In combination with somin.n´s update No. 6 this ROM is mine now
I don´t know why but my s3 mini is flying now...

xxAMJ3 is the newest (kernel from 31. october 2013 and baseband AMJ3) - all included in this awesome ROM
