So I bought a unlocked Atrix but when I put my Telcel SIM inside it tells me to put SIM network unlock PIN? does someone know what is this or can help me?

Sounds like it is not unlocked... you could try calling AT&T to see if they will give you an unlock code for free(if it was an AT&T phone)... if not you need to buy one online for about $9
I brought new atrix 4G MB860. unlocked bootloader thinking it will unlock network as well.. how can i unlock SIM network ? tried couple of web sites for unlock code but no use, given code didn't work. help pls..

Hi all,
I have purchased a samsung galaxy vibrant from a USA seller and I live in the UK. The phone will come with no sim. I want to be able to use it in the UK on the vodafone network.
Can anyone advise me please on how best to deal with this situation - I am android challenged so please be gentle. I have done some searches but didnt see any answer to this specific type question.
I am not sure if T-Mobile Samsung is sim locked but am assuming it is but maybe you guys n gals may be able to advise me more on this.

If its from a tmobile store it will be locked. Expansys and other online retailers are selling them unlocked meaning they're prob unlocking them prior. You would need the code. The codes are also stored on the phone in the nv_data.bin but you need root to access it that way. There's a market app to get the unlock code but that prob won't help you. Best way would be to root, copy the nv_data.bin to your pc and use the windows utility to get the code. Then the phone will prompt for the code with your sim inserted. Hopefully they already unlocked it. Search the forum for the unlock procedures, they are well documented.
Thanks for the reply I really appreciate your help on this. Person I bought it from has just contacted me to say that they got it from T-mobile themselves in a 2-1 promotion.
They said "I bought the phone from Tmobile without a sim card. The associate told me that you can unlock this one with an unlock code".
Sorry for such a noob question ... When I get the phone will it be able to be root the phone with no T-mobile phone sim card in it? Can it be rooted with any sim card or no sim card?

The sim lock is removed by paying an unlocking company to get you the code. It costed me $7.99 Canadian to get it done. There is plenty of websites that will do it for you. you just give them your imei # which is easy to find on the phone. They will send you back an unlock code. No the bootloader unlock will not unlock the sim.

Hi everyone. I'm new at this and was wondering if I install a custom Rom on AT&T HTC Desire 610 Go Phone, will I be able to use T-mobile instead of AT&T? Will it unlock or bypass the network so I don't need to get network unlock pin? I contacted AT&T customer service to unlock network pin but was told I need to activate service to get help with that. I really don't want to activate the phone only to get a network unlock code when I'll be using T-mobile after. If custom Rom won't do the trick is there a way to SIM-Unlock the phone or a tutorial? Nope. Requires supercid mode, which requires s-off, which we don't have yet. Only option is at&t. If you've got a friend with an at&t account in good standing, they might be able to do it for you.
