Hello I have recently installed a new rom on my phone EWJet- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192326 and its amazing i love it! I have recently noticed that when i delete my conversation it deletes everything but the thread. The threads remain in my messing app (stock app) and do not delete is there anyway to fix this? needless to say im using a SE X10
try tapping on thread and then deleting them.
Thank you for the response, unfortunately that was one of many ways I tried to delete them, I have gone S far as delete all the.. data from the messaging app and doing that does nothing. Any advice anyone? Very much appreciatied

try using any third party messaging app.
Did you try wipe data in xrecovery? I think that it will solve, but will erase more things...
try others sms app
Have you restore your message after flash your rom?
Cause this problem usually appear caused by restoring messages.

I dont know, but try to wipe messaging apk data from titanium.
If didnt help, just flash again, first try to flash again your rom over the top (dont wipe anything), if there is any problem try to wipe anything then flash (fresh install).

I am having exactly the same problem, whenever I copy a text in any appliction it force closes. I know hard reset will solve the issue but I dont want to hard reset my phone, is there any other solution for this ?
Just backup through kies and restore after factory reset. I tried to do everything I can without reset but nothing worked.

also, are you sure that after restoring my device the problem will no longer be there ? restoring the device may restores the problem as well

I also had the problem and a Factory Reset worked for me, now able to copy and paste without crashing apps.
Edit: Phone straight out of box, no rooting or custom roms etc. The problem will not persist after a reset.
If you attempt to backup your phone using Kies you can see what components are backed up. I don't think saved game data is.
If you want to backup your game data it's usually found in /sdcard/Android/data. Just copy the folders which you want to keep to your pc and replace once the factory reset is complete. Works for some games and not for others.

We all have to do things we don't want to but the a Factory reset will solve the problem. Up to you.
Anyone have an idea how to report a bug for Samsung in case I would like to report this for them

Do full wipes (data/factory reset, cache, in advanced, dalvik cache and battery stats) and then reflash the kernel and reinstall your rom, it should be ok.
Make sure you have backups of the information you really need.

I don't know In my case the only thing i care about is my contacts, anything else i can configure again, and older txt/sms messages I can do without. You can export the contacts to sd-card, but if you want more, just do a backup in CWM, and after updating your phone, just restore the data from your backup using advanced restore from CWM.
And while you're doing all that, get nAa-12 and MiniCm7-2.2.1

it isn't more easy to synchro your contacts to the google account that you use in your phone.
with every new rom-kernel instalation I always do a backup but at this point I have never need to use it. :/ and after the configuration of the google account my contacts get restored.
I've just flashed SuperNexus and backed up all my apps + data for the first time, it's going through each app one by one on the installation, I assumed it would do it all in one go, is this normal? or have I done it wrong haha?
edit2: after restoring apps + data I just keep getting spammed with messages like "unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped" when I try open contacts, phone etc it says the same message, halp what have I done wrong? my phone keeps crashing cause of everything not working
i cant send a text or anything! even when I receive calls it comes up, some apps work fine and the data is there but most important functions just do not work, can anybody please help me ?

You might try going in recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache, fix permissions and reboot.
Don't restore system data, and to batch restore apps you need the pro version
I just wiped the caches and nothing changed. If I reflash and restore just apps will I lose the data for the apps? Like saves etc

No, you can restore user apps and it`s data. You will not loose anything.

Yes, but you should be okay to restore data for the apps, but don't restore system data across roms.

I thought I bricked it last night too lol, I was flashing "UltimaROM" and was instructed to wipe the phone with his custom installer using Super Wipe. I did that and it just froze, was making no progress at all so I turned it off. It kept rebooting over and over and wouldn't get into recovery mode for ages but it eventually did.
Can anybody answer my kernal question? Is it safe to flash a custom kernal after ROM? I only ask because I read somewhere certain kernals/rom flashing causes a "brick bug" or something

U don't it just doesn't use hypershell so you have to confirm each separate installation.

Hi all.
I was uninstalling unnecessary applications from my phone yesterday using root file delete and it seems I deleted something wrong so now my TwLauncher keeps crashing.
I downloaded another Launcher (which is not a very nice interface) temporarly because I was told that clearing cache from TwLauncher in settings would fix the problem but it did not. TwLauncher still crashing.
I re-installed TwLauncher from a file I found in another posts again it crashed, and tried installing TwLauncher 4.5, after istallation it also keeps crashing!!!
Please help I need TwLauncher to be good again and not crash coz other Launchers suck.
Factory reset. If that doesn't work, re-flash the rom you're currently running.

Go to Settings>Applications>All>TwLauncher
Tap on Force Stop, and then on Clear Data.
You should make backup before you start deleting apps. Never would you get into this situation.

Best post I've seen here this week. Wise words indeed. These phones are essentially mini PC's nowadays, fail to backup regularly at your peril (people who don't backup regularly always seem to be the people who really need them/could have done with one).
Is there any way of doing that without installing a ROM again or doing factory reset???

u cannot install System apps like other apps ma8, u mess with them and they start giving u only trouble nothing else
hence do flash the rom once again to get back ur TW launcher wrk'ng properly, and after that do make a backup

I backed contacts and files on my pc using Kies.
but not sure how to back up messages and app, I think it cannot be done right?

for messages u can use 'SMS backup pro' app, and for apps u can use 'Mybackup' or 'Titanium backup' apps (which require root permission though)

1. U can flash complete ROM using Odin and wipe data & dalvik from cwm. (u will loose messages & applications, but it'll work fine after that)
2. Never Uninstall/Install anything unless u are very sure about that. Uninstalling required apps can lead to this.

Nopes... Dont use a ROM manager... known issues with that... wud suggest u do it with ODIN or CWM...
hey guys i am having some serious issues with the phone app (core process) & contacts app crashing all the time on the new .402 firmware...
this happens irrespective of kernel
even tried wiping appslog, cache, dalvik-cache still no luck
any ideas would be greatly appreciated as i dont want to sit re-installing everything

could you provide details flashed, ota, data wipe blah blah etc etc
since the app is broken a way to fix (not sure if this works on an odexed rom) but obtain the apk that is misbehaving (a working one from a stock rom)
delete the apk (from system)and odex,reboot and settle for a bit make a flashable zip of the apk and flash (copying doed not work when the device is running)
misc:
you can use android tuner or apps alike to remake the odex for the app you replaced
the method above definatly works on a deodexed rom, ive probably gone through it thousands of times by this point, par due to my poor coding
the data for that individual app may be gone but i think thats due to what ever they did after 4.1 to the app data management

updated to .402 the usual way... flash everything except userdata partition in FlashTool...
i never use OTA only FTF... appslog wiped, cache wiped, dalvik-cache wiped...
i am on pure stock ROM...
any more thoughts?

Also, try to disable (uninstall) xposed. And change the DPI to stock if you're using a custom one.

Did you restore/backup your contacts/messages with titanium-backup cause the contacts seems to crash cause the sqlite-db is locked.
I would try to clear the app-data/cache from contacts-storage and try again. (settings->apps->all->clear data/cache)
Or did you use any other apps wich are using the information from the contacts app.
I hope this solves it.

I suggest backing up your data
Clear app data and if it doesnt work then flash a deodexed rom
The app should work and if it breaks again you can simply reflash the individual app after deleting from your system
If it still doesnt work then flash a FTF
And if it still doesnt work then it could be the usual app bug that causes an app to FC for no reason, in which case you will have to data wipe and a posible rom reflash
I found this was a common issue when making app mods for my self or even a varient FFL kernel or even a base rom

Phonebook crashes
Hi there,
I have a Z1C with last firmware, no root, no xposed, just the out-of-the-box phone and I have the same issue.
Phone crashes over phone and phone book apps. I also tried to re-install firmware through Sony tool (the official one in PC companion) and after a while once again.
I'm not sure but it started after I set up the custom sorting in the app drawer.
Z1c shows up crash windows with those processes:

android.process.acore
