[Q] Possibiliti x10 HDMI? - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Have any possibiliti to make hdmi for x10, from arc sources and implement via micro usb like in nokia? In service menu also have hdmi?
I am Zulea, past developer of unlocking tools. You know USB Smart, but now I am out.
Sorry.

I also think the same micro usb to hdmi i asked this before i asked this but didnt get the ansnwer.
galaxy s can do this.
Caan our developers impliment this???

This would be awesome, we have some great devs here, if anyone can its them!

I think that can BE DEVELOPED!

And I think they also could implement USB OTG for x10..
we'll see what the devs gonna do!

Really great will be. Time will show.....

Someone sent this to all devs

you are talking like everything is possible with x10(like quadcore).not that i dont like to have HDMI,but its very very unlikly
(dont get me wrong brother)

Anyone know any dev to show him this?....

Every dev most likely already "thought" about this many times, but this is a dream, it could be possible to get somehow a video output using usb or even the phone connector, yes it would be possible, but that would be a very poor output, because they would have to remap somehow a software encoder inside the phone to redirect data using USB or phone connector and connected in the usb or phone would have to be an adapter that would again translate the information in some vga, A/V, RGB, or at max S-Video, nothing like HDMI could ever happen as there is no such hardware for this built inside x10.
Don't dream on this guys, this is not like something that you can build on drivers.
Here goes an example of things that may be developed in future for x10:
Mass storage like pen drive(connecting a pen drive in the phone directly)
Mouse, keyboard and other input stuf.
Further undervolt and overclocks.
Multitouch, real multitouch(no dual touch as it is now with axis issue)
This may be developed sooner, and only maybe...
HDMI is too far from possible, not impossible though, but yet they would have to find a hardware in the phone to use for that which i don't really know if there is such a thing in x10, but i doubt.

@ all dev...
Is it possible to use USB OTG...?? like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1224676
Or
Live Dock support for x10??
any hope..

This would be amazing but highly unlikely. I just don't think the X10 has the necessary hardware to push HD video out of the USB controller. The only thing I would add is there is a HDMI section in the Service Menu. I don't know if that would help us but it's a place to start.
@xpaa thanks for the interesting link.
My wife's Samsung Infuse 4G came with the hdmi adapter and my first thought was, "How the heck would you get HDMI speed out of a USB anyway?"

i also try so many ways to share my videos and photos on TV via Hdmi out .. even i found some suitable cables for X10 which was selling for that aims. try to search vivaz audio video cable , it is working like output from audio jack , in vivaz it shows videos but in x10 only audio no video , but it is possible via Wi fi share photos and videos on TV
About Live Dock to regret it doesnt support X10 ( only neo , arc , arc s , pro ) as i know

Hello,
Has anyone tried to connect x10 with tv? Should it be connected via usb or 3,5mm jack? Maybe there is some some app needed?
THX for answear.
I suggest you read your owners manual, especially the section covering features of the X10.
Hook up a camcorder directly to the tv, and point it at whatever is playing on your x10
LOL very funny but we prefer hd and not recorded crap
You will have to wait for the DLNA support that is coming to the X10.

Of course, you will need a DLNA compliant TV/Receiver... You can probably hook up as an external drive to a USB media player, but I haven't tried it...
Again, of course you'll need all of these to be HD capable in order to get HD...
Now, while the 3.5mm audio jack question seemed a bit silly, chek here: http://pocketnow.com/tech-news/samsung-galaxy-s-video-out-through-audio-port - so I guess, theoretically it is possible...

Actually, there will be set top boxes for DLNA. HTC announce one today. It is something that I believe will work on the XBox 360 as well.
Yes, but HTC has also an hardware chip for DLNA support.
I connected it once using my brother's n900's cable. it only gave me audio on the tv

I don't think so. (for example you don't need to have special hardware chip on PC to make it DLNA compatible player, server or controler)
the video out is different .. there is hardware support needed
does tv out really need hardware support?
i was thinking about capturing screen, and then translate the signal to something you can send over usb (usb to a/v cable) to your tv ... but i lack knowledge in dealing with hardware at programming ...

I'm no expert on the subject, but if DLNA is being released in the 2.1 update (i cant remember if DLNA is this update or the next one) then maybe it would be worth trying with the connected cable after that...

[Q] Xperia x10 tv out?

Is there a way to use xperia x10 to display stuff on TV or a projector?
good question
I haven't tried this yet, but my TV has USB connectors. Might be a way to get the TV to recognize the SD card as an external hard drive...that's the only way I can think of doing it. Other then hooking it up to a PC, and then streaming the content to your tv via another device (media device, modded gaming console, pc, etc....) First gen xboxes work great for this
i connected my x10 to the usb from xbox..and it works.it can play videos or see pictures or listen to music.it doesn't play the new 720p videos from xperia
You really need to qualify this question... yes, there are a billion way's to use the Xperia to display stuff on the telly...
I assume what you're really asking is: "is there 'video out' capability on the x10"
The answer is no.

Well yeah, there's supposed to be DLNA on the 2.1 update, but I haven't looked... of course you would need a DLNA compliant receiver of sorts attached to or inside your set...
Like I say, there are billions of ways to get your x10 on the telly (personally I just sit it on top when I'm charging it), but it all depends on how you're trying to do it.

That's only for Satio series.
I tried a 3.5mm to composite RCA cable but no dice.
Ultimately the best option would be HDMI to microUSB like a few other phones have.
I wonder how hard it would be for someone to add support for that... I guess it depends on whether it is a hardware or software limitation... I'm tempted to start a thread about it!

It's software limitation, there cannot really be a hardware limitation in the phone itself, all we need is a compatible microusb connecting lead, but there is no feature in the x10 software that allows video-out.
Maybe a third-party app?

SGS2 to have USB OTG?

I can't believe my eyes but the specs page on Samsung's website says it has USB OTG!!!!!!!!!!! I can finally use my portable DAC with this beast!
Check under Connectivity
galaxys2.samsungmobile.com/html/specification.html
That's great news for us audiophiles; I actually just sold my UM3Xs to help find for new stiff (the galaxy2 mainly) . I don't really listen to music that much anymore though.
my Fiio E7 USB DAC is also happy for it!
I just need to find short USB mini to micro cable.
Sorry if this might be a n00b question, but I don't seem to be clear on the subject. Will this allow for me to attach a usb harddrive or usb-stick as add-on storage via a usb-micro-usb connector?
Thanks

Yes, it should work providing the microUSB port can provide enough power to drive your HDD (or if it comes with an adaptor).
I remember having USB OTG on one of my Cowon players and it made life so much simpler when I wanted to copy somebody's music over to my player, or pictures from a camera. Only question is, what kind of devices will Samsung give us support for (I guess once they give out the kernel sources this should become less of an issue).

Yea, there's this 2.2 Android phone coming out that is a couple of tenths of a mm thimbleful; however, there are things called set points which are the minimum points where we can discern differences. I think 8 mm give or take a tenth reaches that.

[Q] A/V output.

Hello everybody,
I know that the scene is working really hard making and porting ROMS for the NT, now that CM7 (ALPHA) is out... I'm curious if is a CHANCE or light in the future to use a micro USB/HDMI output to be able to connect the tablet to a HD TV using MHL.
PS: Is the CM7 KERNEL capable of mounting or recognize keyboards, gamepads etc etc with micro USB port.

I'm pretty sure that video output would require some hardware support, soas far as I know that won't be possible.
I don't know about using the USB for external devices, but if they ever figure out the "magic number" it should be possible via Bluetooth.

MHL is pretty cool .But AFAIK Nook does not have a HDMI out function. B&N would've advertised the **** out of this feature , coz it would have been a great advertising feature .IIRC most 7" tabs lack video output .
USB OTG has not been described as a feature and seems very unlikely .
If the bluetooth module (present but disabled) is unlocked and drivers installed , then BT keyboards, gamepads possible in the distant future .
Hav fun

This cable works only on Nokia 5800.
There are no Android phones that support TV-out via 3.5mm jack. Some phones have HDMI port for this, but most don't.
Now, microUSB-HDMI adapter is known to work on some Androids, but LWW has not been tested. So we also do not know, if there is any app for it or not.
2nd way would be DLNA, but that only supports media files.
Thanks man

You don't connect the charger to the adapter.
I am not sure, if Xperia's support TV-out from microUSB. If not, then likely will not work.
For DLNA, you need the original file from stock ROM.

In Xperia Mini st15a, DLNA can be used through an app what initiate an server what give access for media content like videos and photos, and if you have an eletronic like a notebook or tv with dlna certified, then they have the client to connect to the server and execute these contents. Although, windows 7 comes with dlna client, windows media center, through wifi (dlna is a protocol what runs over wifi).
I asked in my country to Sony support about MHL, they say what the only device is the Xperia Arc S what have MHL ... but i can't confirm that, and the new Xperia U, P etc etc maybe have. However, for us owners of xperia 2011 devices, theres no mhl function, and i searched a lot... so i found xBounds, google it.
About cables through jack, the same, don't work... Sony have an oficial cable to x1 i guess, but not for live's or mini's.
Search also about mirrorOp app on Google Play Store.
PS3 have dlna also and Sony have an app on Play called VScreens.

Yes, in service menu there is a button for hdmi test. All Android with service menu have a button for hdmi test. All Android with this button kinda have hdmi software support. But, in order to use HDMI properly, the device need a hardware what support HDMI, for example, MHL need an USB socket and a circuit, HDMI need a HDMI socket and a circuit.
In this case, is all about hardware not only software. Although, there are some ways to do screen mirroring, some hardwares and softwares. I bet in xBounds.
No one tried to plug an MHL adapter in mini's or live's, because no one reported if work or not, all we have is a uncertainty. No one tried to plug another kind of cable and reported if work or not. *No one since the latest search I made.
I haven't tried to use an MHL adapter yet because I don't found it in my country so easily and don't found a MHL adapter "more appropriate".
I just need search for a friend or visit some seller what I can meet to test it. I don't found yet.

Doubt not. You're obviously too busy to look it up . Suffice to say that entering "android tv out 3.5mm" or "galaxy s tv" on a well known phone spec checker (sometimes known as 'giyf') gives prominent links to the correct accessory and video demos.

The Sidekick 4g does as well. 4pin 3.5mm TRRS (Left,Right,Ground,Video) cables work on it. So does the Galaxy S II (i9100), and according to Samsung's website, with "Samsung Exhibit™ 4G Android Smartphone Samsung Captivate™ Android Smartphone Samsung Vibrant™ Android Smartphone Galaxy S™ 4G Android Smartphone Samsung Omnia® II Touchscreen Smartphone"
Composite video on 3.5mm jack, and most of those phones have MHL over usb or hdmi as well. Suck on that non-believer.
Samsumg have nice phones.
Sadly theres no MHL, or jack, or HDMI, or magic for xperia mini/pro, et cetera.
Is really unpleasant what the demostration video for LiveDock cause the impression of is possible do tv out for any phone Xperia, but this was discussed before, the true is what the phone in demostration has your own HDMI out. Even the docks with HDMI out, is for phones that already have the HDMI out builded in.
We have just a long wait for xBounds becomes a true for us, because is the only resource what seems work as we need and want.
Of course there's another solutions, but the issue is the delay, but this is not problem, for example, if you want just show content in non-real time.
