Need help on flashing Darktremor A2SD on SK17i - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

On the website it says internal memory available is 400mb. But when I bought the phone only 200mb internal memory is available for users.
I like to install so many games such as Gameloft games and other HD games which are usually like 20mb+ and most of them cant be moved to the SD card but saved on internal memory which cost a lot. Now my current internal memory available is 30mb and I already getting the 'low on space' message on the notification bar.
So I really need to flash Darktremor A2SD on my phone to make me able to install more games and apps

I am not sure what darktremor's a2sd script does but I guess it moves all the apps and probably data to sd-ext partition, just like other a2sd scripts.
Link2sd has a gui which enables you move only a few apps to the second partition of the sdcard (ext2, ext3, ext4 and even fat).

I personally prefer Link2SD as I have not tired Darktremor's A2SD script on my SK17i yet.

Link2SD can be obtained at android market. You should carefully read the description before installing Link2SD.

Insufficient space storage?

Hey guys, i have partitioned my sdcard ext3 to ext4 then installing megatron rom to enable the darktremor app2sd. I did that, but why still get this "insufficient space storage" and i cant install any apps anymore.
The funny thing is that i check in both settings and app2sd app, my phone memory space available is 41.09mb but says insufficient storage?

in app manager u can move some of them to sd
and some app require a lot of free space so u can install them (specialy some games)
I have already move all my movable apps to my sd. But now if i try to install games from market it says "installation unsuccesful" and in the market it says "insufficient storage". But its funny my phone memory available is 30mb but why it says not enough memory???
So i have to uninstall some apps that saved in phone memory to free some space and install a new apps which i dont want to do. Please help.
Or maybe pls teach me the correct way step by step to partitioned my sd card and to enabled the darktremor apps2sd. I just want to install as many apps i want without worrying about insufficeint space storage. Please... i want to be a happy androidians

The partitioning depends on the rom you-re using. But probably you'll need around 512 Mb of ext partition, i recommend ext2 if youre using stock rom, or ext4 if going on Void/Megatron. And 0 swap. That's kinda all you need. Just install a2sd app, or make the a2sd folder in void/settings and reboot (if you're on void).
Take care of what apps you move on the SD, as important and often used apps behave better on the phone memory. So do not move apps with widgets, background running apps.
PS Try a full wipe from recovery and then reinstall Megatron/Void with a2sd
You could also try clearing the browser cache settings>applications>manage applications>all> scroll down to browser an tap clear cache. I have ~7mb browser cache size after about 10 minutes of internet browsing
After installing the script must run commands in Terminal emulator:
su(allow)
a2sd cachesd (phone reboot) - it will transfer the cache to SD
if use a2sd 2.7.5.3 after loading:
su
a2sd datasd (phone reboot) - it will transfer folder "data" to SD
check the status of:
su
a2sd check
Please please me teach me accurately STEP BY STEP.
Im using megatron rom, someone said darktremor app2sd already in the megatron rom but u need to partition thing first, i did that. But maybe i did a mistake? So please teach me again step by step whatever it takes even if i have to format/wipe my data and reinstall megatron rom or whatsoever. Thank you.
Waiting for reply

Tell me did i do any wrong to enabled the darktremor app2sd? Or maybe i missed something? Please help guys

U should flash miks kernel after rebooting atleast once ...

a2sd directly install the app and games in your ext parttion which the phone recognise as and internal memory along with the data stored in ext which does not create any problem to run the app and games .its required only when you use 100 + app (a larger space required) orelse if u are a moderate users you can avoid creating a2sd
thanks..
oooooh i love apps2sd now....
is there any particular sequence of things to be done before flashing the zip.
would i be able to transfer my previous applications to apps2sd??

Maybe you can use Link2SD. It's a very handy app. I'd have about -150 MB without it
You can find it in the themes&apps section.
OR
removing unused applications should free up some space as well
It says second partition not found

link2sd require 2 partition on sdcard
if you are on 2.2 rom check my thread on multiple partition on froyo however link2sd gives errors on 2.2
for 2.1 i would sugest seriously look back at application which you have not used for ages and just remove them.

Noob alert question-apps to ext

I know I can move apps to SD, its an option by going to manage applications. What I want to know is how can I move all of my apps to ext to save even more internal memory. I'm currently on void forever. I'm not using ungazed or darktremor. I did download S2E from market but it only allows moving of downloading data. I don't want to run my entire phone off of SD just applications. Along time ago about 2 months ago I did set up a partition l. I forgot the specifics but currently I'm using a class 6 8gb card, so I know it was higher than 512mb

There is no way to move all the apps you want to sd in froyo without ungaze&co.
In cyanogenmod you can move every app you want to sd but apps with widgets will cause errors and other apps wich were not designed to be moved to sd will not run 100% correctly.
With ungaze, I flash the zip than what?

Flash the zip then your apps will be moved automatically to your ext partition.
But there's a catch: in time it is possible to damage your sd card because the apps will run directly from the sd wich is not really designed for too much r&w.
Appreciate the help

Errr.. You are confused.
1. S2E does move apps to the ext partition on CM7 based roms.
2. I suppose you want to use ungaze's data2sd based on your previous posts, A2SDGUI doesn't work with that.
3. Yes you require an ext2 partition. Simply use recovery, minitool or gparted.
link2sd is an amazing app I absolutely love it on my vm670 which has so little internal memory.

Ext partition

I want to make ext partition of my memory card.
Since I don't find separate guide for ext partition. They all focus on scripts more than ext partition.
I want to know which partition is good for our optimistic one?
Ext2
Ext3
Ext4
What r the advantage and disadvantage of these different partition
Which script to use?
ungaze data2sd or any other
Which apps to move?
App2sd
Link2sd etc
What data can be moved to SD?
Apps dalvic cache
Anything else
What size of ext partition to be used & what size of swap to be used. Does swap help in any way?
Does ext partition help in boosting your quadrant score?
plsss help
I have a 8gb class4 mmc.
Ungaze only moves apps to ext, doesn't move dalvik cache the ext..
Darktremors a2sd script plus a2sdgui allows you to move apps to ext2 or internal memory, allows you to adjust memory usage, and also moves dalvik to sd-ext
S2E-simple2ext moves apps and dalvik to ext2 but can only be used on cm7 roms
Ungaze script-link2sd
Darktremors script-a2sdgui
UNGAZE + DARKTREMORS - s2e
Google search the differences of ext2-4, I do know some roms might only use ext2 partitioning
When you download apps, it's using memory and space when you use a script to move apps to ext2, it takes part of that application and moves it to the ext partition.. So yes using a2sd scripts will improve quadrant scores, some users use quadrant standard and others use anututu, I've used anututu but I could care a less about scores. Im using cosmicxperia 3.4 which has alot of init.d scripts the push performance. It's a stable rom
Sorry if I couldn't help answer your question on the differences, I'm typing this from my phone

What size to partition?
Swap-0
Partition size-512mb
512mbs is all you really need, do you honestly think you will need 1gb of ext2 space when our phones are only limited to a small ram size? The more apps you have, the more memory you'll use...
So stick to 512mb and 0 swap

Swap memory can be used as ram memory of the phone, but since our phone has lot of ram,no one recommends it.This is because using swap memory drastically reduces your sd card life span(as there are continuous read/write cycles).

Thnx. U reverted my mind
I use links2SD, which moves the dalvik, lib, and app files to the ext partition on my phone.
If you have a memory card reader for your pc, you can download a free progam called EaseUS partition manager to make and size the ext partitions on your card as EXT2 or EXT3. it's a lot faster than havign to load a custom recovery or go through scripts on your phone to do it.
I think I might of made a mistake, I don't think you need any a2sd scripts if your using simple2ext (s2e), to answer your previous questions I'm using amora recovery 3.06 with cosmicxperia 3.4 full, amora has the access to convert from ext2-ext3 to ext3-ext4 but I always just partition the card which separates a fat32 and ext2 partition with a 0 swap and 512mb ext2 size

So use a2sd, it's beneficial for our phones, if you had a freaking sgs2 or galaxy nexus or some other phone with lots of space and memory, I wouldn't use a2sd

To be completely honest with you I have always stuck to ext2 with everything you just said and everything was running good, although I have heard someone say they set ext4 journaling with s2e, an option you can do under settings from s2e app but if you want my opinion, stick to darktremors and a2sdgui for all non-cm7 roms and s2e for all cm7 roms but some might disagree
