[Q] Custom ROM with generic bluetooth stack (not Samsung)??? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there, I hope someone can help me with this Question, here I go:
The original bluetooth stack is incompatible with wiimote apps (or any bluetooth controller), so Im looking for a custom ROM that is based on Android 2.3.4 and has another bluetooth stack...
I have tried MIUI ROMs, but I dont like it very much... It cant playback 1080P videos, and some incompatibilities... I tried also Cognition S2 v1.5, Its a very good ROM, but has original stack...
Is there any ROM out there that is like Cognition (root, deodexed, overclocked...) and IS compatible with Wiimote apps?
Thanks a lot, Im testing some ROMs, if I find it myself Ill post it here
EDIT: I also tried dual-boot (for using Cognition S2 and MIUI), but Boot Manager is incompatible with Galaxy S2...

far asim aware CM7 roms work with ps3 and wiimote pads, they use stock BT stack, but the CM7 are still in nightlys( not for daily or n00b use)

Thanks! I have now Cognition S2 v1.5, which is a very good ROM... I noticed that there are some bluetooth(something).apk in /system/app... Can I simply erase them and put the right ones?
Its a good idea to migrate from Cognition S2 to Cyanogen 7? Will I lose something?
Thanks again

Generic bluetooth stack rom
I have Oxygen 2.2 installed on my galaxy s2, it is a stock aosp rom very similar to Nexus s. Sixaxis controller works with it

[Q] CM7 bluetooth hands free problems

Hi,
i have CM 7.1.0 RCO-Thunderg-mik installt on my p500. I am pretty happy with this rom but i have problems with the bleutooth connection to my car stereo. The sound quality is extremly bad - basicaly just noise. I restored the official 2.2 Android and it did work perfectly. Therefore there must be a problem with the CM 7 rom!
Is there a way to fix this or are there other roms that i should try (CM 9)? I would like to have a stable daily life rom just as the CM7 with good battery life and some normal tweaks.
If i should look for a newer rom - do i have old baseband with the current rom installed? (i don' remember ever flashing the baseband - but it is possible that i did!)
Thx for your Help!!
Jim
sooo, i flashed the new baseband and oxygen rom and bluetooth works well!
Overall smooth rom but without ukw radio.

[Q] Roms that support Radio?

I have been going through some of the roms but many of them do not support the native radio app that comes with the ace.
What are some of the some of the latest roms that support radio and not Bluetooth ( not even sure how this works)
Cheetah 2.0 supports both radio and bluetooth
Sent from my Ace using XDA
Almost Every rom supports it... There's the. Blootooth and the volume bug though sometimes... All you gotta do is put the fm radio apk in system/app
It'll work

Did I send this :O
If you want FM radio then any rom based on stock (i recommend 2.3.6. based roms) is best choice.
For CyanogenMod roms try using Spirit FM Radio from Google play.
You need some tweaking to get Spirit FM working ok but that is only choice for CM roms.
Thanks for the suggestions. I guest I will have to settle for the myth ICS rom since works fine .. this for me is a big setback I am only able to try out some CM9 roms but radio is essential to me.But I just I can't do better than 2.3

[Q] Bluetooth Audio distorted on Custom Roms

I have a problem with Custom ROM's Bluetooth.
I have tried CM10, AOKP and SuperNexus.
With all ROM's there is a problem with Bluetooth (Audio distorted) with my Car System (BMW).
With all Samsung based ROMS (Stock and Omega) all works fine.
Now i tried it with a dual boot environment (SiyahKernel S3 v1.7rc1) -> but same error
has anyone an idea?

Having the same issue. But good to know that Omega is still working. May have to move back to that for the time being.
same problem
Havind the same issue as state above. I have samsung s3 and parrot ck3100 in my car.
Before i was using stock rom and never had problems.
Now i tried Liquidsmooth, CM 9 en slimbean. They all give me the same problems. Audio on bleutooth is completly distorted en not useable.
Anyone suggestions, would really appreciate because i love those customs roms but really need my BT to work.
That's weird since stock was bad and cm10 is great for me.. Sony headunit..
Sent from a Ticking Time bomb
same for me problems with bluetooth with i9300 on custom rom CM11, no solution yet
Same probleme here.
using BlissPop i9300 - any solutions?

i9300 HDMI support

Hello friends.
I want to convert my old i9300 galaxy s3 to media box for watch movies, series, football matches etc. I got hdmi connection kit and working fine with stock rom. My problem is
Kit kat getting old. Anybody recommend me newest roms (6.0 or 7.1) which hdmi working. Also mouse doesn't work. It will be good if my mouse work. Bluetooth mouse maybe work I'll try.
Thanks for your help.
I think you'll struggle. Stock firmware is the way to go for all share, not sure if mhl works on custom roms but I know all share won't.
It is looks like stock based roms only option.
Currently I'm using Blekota Note4 rom 4.4.4 working fine.
Lineage Os 7.1 also working good but no MHL suppurt.
I guess it is impossible if samsung not give mhl driver.
thanks for answer.
