just noticed that my lower microphone is covered by sth from inside the case. it looks similar to the attached photo, but my microphone is even more covered from this white thing inside as seen on the photo. the black hole seems so be nearly outside. the other micro on top is centered right.
is anybody of you experiencing the same?
could be relevant for my acoustics probs.

I just looked at mine and sure enough I have the "small triangle" opening for the mic. Does anyone have one with this apparent round hole for the mic? And if so, could you post a picture? Thanks.
Mine is triangular as well, although its not rough or jagged. It looks as if it was meant to be that way.
Yeah, mine looks like it was meant to be that way too. But this reporting of it looking like it's supposed to be a round opening has me wondering. If true could that mean those of us with this teenie opening have NT's whose mic performance won't be as good? (No jokes about teenie openings please. )
Hello there. I have bought my Samsung Galaxy SIII a few weeks ago ( about 2 weeks if I'm nt mistaken) and I love it very very much. And I've also bought some case to protect it since the 1st day. And currently I'm using the case mate pop for it. However, today when I take a look at my SIII I found out that the the earpiece is slightly slanted to the right and it formed a quite a huge gap. And between those gaps I can see something silver and chrome like inside of it. I think it is the inner parts of the phone related to the earpiece. I have no idea how this happen because I'm using my SIII everyday untill today I noticed this.
I've never dropped my SIII and I take very good care of it. The only thing I did was taking out the case mate pop and I applied slight pressure to it because it was a little hard to take off. I'm wondering is this the reason that causes the slant and gaps? And I wanted to know if others had the exact same problem or am I thinking too much and didn't notice it the 1st day until today? I'll attach some pictures so you guys can take a closer look. I need some advice guys I'm desperate! Thanks in advance.
*EDIT* I also found out that I can slightly move the earpiece. Just a little bit. But still I cant make it to close the gap and that silver thingy. Is it suppose to be a little bit loose?

Not sure what u meant by case mate pop... but I wouldn't tell: most repair consultants wouldn't know unless its clear u used a screw driver to move the eat piece.

The case mate pop is a case for the S3 which is made in Taiwan. It's quite popular in youtube alot of people are doing reviews for it. I put the case in it and it was easy. But then when I tried to take it off it was hard. So I have to apply slight pressure on the top of my phone.
Do you think that the pressure is what causes this? And do you have the silver thing on the right corner of your S3? Thanks in advance.

Not sure if I understand this correctly. Can this "silver thing" be seen inside of the 3.5mm jack input, or on the far right corner of the S3? If it's in the headphones port, it could be the connector for the jack-plug you see, which is normal.
Could you by any chance provide a picture of the damaged area?

I've look into the 3.5mm jack input and I can't seem to find anything related to it as the silver thing is on the right corner of the earpiece. Just below it. And what do you mean on the far right corner?

I just noticed something...on top of the phone, close to the headphone jacks, on top of the earpiece, try pushing the frame of the frame down towards to screen...It actually clicks and seems as it is not snug tight. Is this only with my phone? I freaked out when I witnessed this happening.
Is there any type of gap between the screen and the actual frame? If not you're fine.
I've noticed the top and bottom of the frame will bend and you can even stick your finger nail inside and slightly bend it. Perfectly normal. Tested it with all the test units at AT&T
Also with the charger that came with the Lumia, if you plug it in and pull it out, the frame will slightly bend outwards. Perfectly normal.
Look up "lumia 920 drop test" by PhoneBuff and you'll see the 'plastic' is not poor quality.

Hey, I have noticed the same thing. it doesn't bother me that much though. I bought it yesterday from a Rogers Store to use it on Wind. The first one I picked up had some issues too, this one is good.

Yes I have the same on a UK model.
Screen can click under the top edge when pushed. Also the phone creaks and clicks at the bottom left of mine too when squeezed.
I'm a little OCD about things so its annoying me. Want to swap but shop has no stock at the moment.

I can assure you that all of them are the same.
I just swapped out my black lumia 920 for another one because of the battery isn't great, but it still clicks and bends.

Hi,
I took a look into the dev device and wonder if it is possible to change the cheap device frame and replace it with a S3 original case.
But because I'm not very experienced in disassembling mobile phones I got no success.
I removed all screws inside the phone and tested a S3 original battery back. I would fit on the RD-PQs back. But I find no way to remove the "angular" black front from the screen. There a now screws which fix the screen to front.
So I want to start a discussion here. Maybe together we find a way to get a "real" looking S3.
Does someone has an idea how the screen is fixed to the front? Or does anyone already tried the same?
Someone found Pictures from inside RD-PQ?
I9300 is very easy to open... but I have nothing to compare...
No idea how RD-PQ looks near battery...

The small top hole is one of the microphones. There's an identical one on the bottom of the phone. So, you can make stereo recordings.

The earpiece actually turns into a 3rd microphone for high decibel environments, like live concerts.
But that top one is one of the two "regular" microphones.

Aren't there barometer measuring apps for that ?
I read that by checking on pressure you can find out if your phone is still water resistant

That top mic is probably used for noise reduction during phone calls (since it's the top mic and you would speak into the bottom one), but used for recording stereo when actually recording? I'm sort of guessing on this.
If someone who is audio has better answer, jump in.

I think I see the pinhole to the right of where the actual microphone is. As for fixing it, I am far to clumsy. But using a shop is of course an option, the only thing is that the phone is brand new and I'm guessing I'll loose the warranty for that. But I think I will first of all find out if the microphone isn't damaged, and then I will see what happens when I cover the hole. If it doesn't change the call qualty I will probably choose (at least for now) to glue shut that pinhole. Yeah, 4:55 - 5:30 on that video shows taking out the old mic and putting in the new, for anyone else who needs to do it.
