[Q] Arabic 2.3 original firmware - Optimus One, P500, V General

can anyone please provide me with an original 2.3 firmware that is arabic or with arabic support, i searched google for 3 days with no luck

No such thing out there. Use mik's CM7.

use update notification app to check whether got update or not if u using stock rom

I have contacted LG support on twitter and they said there will not be an arabic gingerbread for Optimus one. I recommend using mik_os CM7. Its 2.3 and its arabic is excellent.

Problems with Mik CM7? Official 2.3.3 would have a hell lot of problems when compared to Mik's. Clean install CM7 and you won't have any issues.

It should work fine. Once you press the Root button it will take some time and them reboot. After rebooting, your phone will be rooted.

You're not going to get anything out of this. The APK they are talking about is for the Flash Lite that is already installed on our phones. It runs some Flash, but far from everything. These guys install the APK and go test some random flash game site and say it works -- because they picked a site that already worked before they installed. Then others say it doesn't work, because they test on a site not supported by Flash Lite.
If you want full Flash 10, you need to wait until Froyo. That's all there is to it.

[Q]How to get root if you already are on GB?

In all my excitement I jumped ship and downloaded the gingerbread update before root.
My question:is it possible to get it now? Or is a application needed to be developed?
Just wondering.
Thanks.

So this means that we can't root Gingerbread with the flashtool or superoneclick?
Sorry for this question, but I will change only when you can root Gingerbread by yourself.

It's already on these forums. It was used when our phones were on 2.2.
As most users are now on 2.3 we no longer use it often. The option to allow non-market installs was implemented in the official 2.3 roms as well as all custom roms.
Why not go ahead and update to Gingerbread? It is much more configurable and that is the "current" version most folks are supporting and working with.

Should I root my brand new SGP 4.0?

Hi all,
I ordered a SGP 4.0 and will receive it today. Should I root it as soon as I receive it? Does 'rooting' make any changes to the stock firmware? Does it change anything else compare to a stock SGP beside that it will have 'root' permission?
I am new to the Android environment as I have never owned one before, but I am an embedded software guy by trade (on a totally different discipline and processor family) so I'm not a stranger in the firmware world and Linux environment.
Later, I like to learn programming/hacking the Android for fun and hope that I will be able to contribute something.
Thanks for any comment.

No, all it does is just give you root access.
Not really, unless you want to use Titanium Backup. Mine is rooted (I think, can't remember lol) and I really don't see any other advantages except for overclock apps or other root-only apps.
Overall, it's not necessary. Just flash a ROM (I prefer CM7 or Klin's Klassic ROM) and a kernel (NOTE: Steve's kernel for the US and INTL 4.0 may cause bootloops if you boot into ClockWorkMod Recovery).
Thanks! I appreciate the replies. So, if I want to root, I just grab the latest version of Superoneclick and have at it?
If I were you I would wait a little longer and get some more information about this, beofre rooting. I rooted my Player using Superuser, just the latest one I could find.

I rooted mine using DoomLord's Easy Rooting Toolkit v4, but AFAIK superoneclick should work as well.

See, I used DooMLoRD's Rooting Toolkit, which I find to work, unlike the time I tried to root with SuperOneClick. If one doesn't work, go with the other.

Almost all devices using 2.3 will work. SGP4 does work with it. If you see galaxy s I9000 expect SGPs to be in it.

Its the model info like i have galaxy player 4.0 YP-G1 and on gameloft games it says device is incompatible so i used the es file explorer and enabled root explorer in settings and went to phone/system and look for build.prop make a copy of it and put it somewhere and i changed the ones that had YP-G1 to GT-I9000 save and reboot and it fixes the incompatible message

Uummm...hell yeah!
I would 100% suggest you root your device, mainly for the fact that all the custom roms are more stable and user friendly than the stock samsung ROMS, I rooted my SGP installed a custom ROM on it and I'm living it up, I'm so happy that I can't even explain it. I couls give you the link to the rom forum for the SGP's if you want?
It will void your warranty. but i think its still worth it .it raly depends on what you want to do with your android.

Thanks. I already rooted my new SGP 4.0. Could you post the link to the rom? Any particular ROM you could recommended for the SGP 4.0? What can a custom ROM do more than the stock ROM?

Hey, I'm a huge novice at all of this. I've had my player for a few months and I've heard of tons of people that have rooted their device.
What does it allow you to do? Is it how you get more themes?
I'm very unintelligent on this subject so any clarification would be great...
