[Q]Baseband issues? How to flash different baseband? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since I flashed my phone with the new version of Lightning which is a modified version of the stock ROM XXKH3, it came with the matching new Baseband version I9100XXKH3.
Since I installed the new version, my packet switching mode on the phone (ie internet only, phone function works) keeps dropping on me at random and only a full restart of the phone fixes it.
A friend suggested that my phone may not like the new Baseband version and I should flash it to a older version.
Might this resolve the issue? and if so, where can I get just baseband files to flash instead of full stock roms?
My original stock firmware was MUGKG2
Please advise, thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info
From that post I also found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193695&highlight=modem which is the exact modem my phone originally came with.
Seems the key is knowing the right terminology for some things. I was searching for baseband and radio when I should have searched for 'modem'.
I'll try flashing the old modem back and see if it fixes my issues.

[Q] 2.1.1.A.0.6 Rogers rom on ATT?

Has anyone put the new Rogers rom on a locked ATT unit?
Any market problems?
Any problems removing Rogers apps?
I THINK want to go to one of the custom roms but I'm only on Baseband 2.0.46
and I don't have Dual Touch installed. But it seems that I'm required to update to the higher bb at least, and though I see a BB update only thread, it's unclear if all basebands are compatible with all SE 2.1 update-1. And then I would still have to update to dual touch prior to installing a custom rom.
Since these are two independent flash requirements, and it seems that I have to update to some rom higher than 504 anyway, so I was wondering if I could just go to the Rogers one.... getting dual touch and a higher baseband right off the bat in an official package in one shot, and check it out prior to deciding to move on.
Different basebands work with different firmwares and kernels. You can mix and match, to some degree (for instance, .55 baseband works with .435 or 2.1.1.A.0.6 FW), but there's really no reason to.
I own an AT&T X10a, and I always use the X10i Global Generic firmwares. All the features without all the crap.
Check out the link in my signature for an optimized version of the .435 firmware (dualtouch, etc). Follow the instructions, there's a file for flashing the new kernel and baseband on there.
Good luck!

But even your firmware says I have to flashtool a higher baseband to get it work prior. (Shouldn't you update your screen shots, you show bb 2.0.46 when you really mean 2.0.54) Though what you've put together is very interesting. Do you still have all the SE apps, too, in the collection of applications? (Just asking, I know they have apk's available.)
I'm just trying to avoid flashing multiple times now*, do a straight 2.1.1.A.0.6 update and flash only once and get higher baseband, dual touch and whatever other tweaks there are which don't require flashing. There's no LAM/NAM generic of this version yet?
*flashtool for me a PITA, because I don't have VISTA/Win7 computers generally available and it works better on that than XP which is problematic due to the SE usb drivers which sometimes freeze it in flash mode. I am getting a decent tax refund, I suppose it's time to upgrade to sandybridge and Win7 (since the first SP is out) before they announce Win8.

New baseband no signal problem

I just updated to new baseband, I flashed several NewBB roms, and there is no signal for any of them. When I first finished updating my new baseband, I had signal and data on the stock t-mobile rom. I checked settings, and the android version is 2.3.7 but the baseband version is unknown. If I can't find a solution to this, can someone give me a flashable zip version of t-mobile stock rom, (or any other stock rom) Please help, because I was so excited to explore newbb roms.

Because once you upgrade your firmware you can no longer downgrade. So when you flashed 5CPI4 you can only flash firmware that is 5xxxx. You can not downgrade to 4xxxx firmware. They have different modems and bootloaders.

Recommended bootloader for GT-I9300?

I looked around the internet a lot and wasn't able to find any useful information about this. I have a GT-I9300
I've recently updated my OS (lineage 4.1 - Android 7.1.2) and modem (I9300XXUGMK6) and I'm wondering what a recommended boot-loader might be. I chose this modem because it was listed on the ROM page, and it seems to work fine.
I found this but it appears to be very old:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/ref-galaxy-s3-stock-kernel-bootloaders-t2189063
Before I updated, my modem was version I9300XXEMG4, and I'm pretty sure I updated my modem and boot-loader at the same time previously, which leads me to believe my boot-loader is probably XXEMG4 too (assuming that exists).
Should I update to XXEMG5? Should I try to find the boot-loader that corresponds to my modem (XXUGMK6, assuming that exists)?
I just want something that is probably going to be reliable, not that I have any specific problems, but I believe in staying up to date. Where can I find the latest boot-loaders? Any reason not to just get the latest? What are people here using in general?
The bootloader doesn't need to be changed and you cannot downgrade once you've updated the firmware to mk6 unless you have a backup of your efs from before mk6.
If it ain't broke..
Beamed in by telepathy.
Ok, it seems to be running fine since I upgraded the modem. Thanks.

[HELP] 925I updated to 7.0... no network connectivity

Hello!
I just updated my 925I (Mexico-Telcel) from MM to N and found out that after that I get no carrier connectivity, wifi works fine. Update was done through smart switch and noticed that imei doesn't match with the one on the back of the phone.
I've always tinkered with my phones and the one time I didn't, it bit me in the ass.
Anyway,
Baseband version is G925IDVU3FQF3
Build Number is NRD90M.G925IDVU3FQF7
I've been reading and reading but so far, I don't know if I can flash an unbloated version (925F) or not or if I can flash only the MM modem in hopes for the problem to be solved.
Any advice will be appreciated.
