HTC HD2 windows 6.5
PLZ tell me....How fix it......
Thanks...

Did you really perform a hard reset?
Sounds more like a soft reset to me.
But then again, if it was a hard reset, something with your device might be wrong.
And, what kind of ROM is on your device, stock?

Yes, I did hard reset ....and soft reset also but my internal memory is not back....
My HTC HD software Information
OS version 5.2.21892 (21892.5.0.89)
Manila version 2.5.20121412.2
ROM version 2.13.531.1 (90963) WWE
Radio version 2.10.50.25
Protocol version 15.39.50.07u

Seems to be just an older TMOUS stock ROM.
If you didnĀ“t alter anything else but installing some apps, the error you have to face is somewhat strange - lack of memory even after a hard reset.
Did you try a hard reset without your SD card inserted? Sometimes, the system puts correct and/or corrupt data into the "app data" folder. You actually can delete this very folder, it will be recreated automatically with fresh data.

Somebody Know......

Somebody knows what happen after the "soft" o "hard reset"?
A soft reset is just like a reboot, it clears memory but doesnt affect installed programs or stored data. A hard reset clears memory and also clears all installed programs and data, the data on sd memory card remains unaffected.
Are there anywhere than we can installed our program that when doing hard reset it cannot be cleared? I know from other post, you can installed in memory cards but it will take ur battery life compared installed in memory especilly in XDAII.
Your Pocket Pc have other 2 memory blocks:
Storage and Extended..
You can install there permanently your programs
Yes you can install to ram disc/storage, memory however any adjustments made to the main files in the xda will be lost on hard reset which will render the programs inoperative.

SD could not be refreshed unless soft resetting...why?

SD 512M SanDisk
after i copied files into the sd card and inserted it into the MDA and, turned it on, my MDA could not get the newer files and still showed the old ones...
but after i soft reset the machine, thing's solved. could anybody tell me why? and is there any solution that i don't have to soft reset my MDA and just click 'reload' button or even i don't have to reload and news files will be shown automatically?
Thanks~
by the way, the sender of SMS could not be shown in my MDA even after i installed a patch called SMS Fix...why?
oops~
i got another question. after i use MDict and choose Exit, my MDA is dead...i could do nothing to activate it unless i soft reset...
the version of MDict is 2.0...any patch or any solution? a newer version will work well?
thanks~

WM2005 - Hard reset

Hi!
As we know the Himalaya has 128MB RAM. On the other hand the HTC Universal/Exec uses 128MB ROM. Can WM2005 itself creates an equivalent ROM in the Himalaya?
My question is if I upgrade to WM2005 for my Himalaya does a hard reset wipes everything off my RAM/Big Storage and default to factory settings?
If I'll to install programs into the ROM of the Universal/HTC will a similar hard reset wipe the info from my ROM?
Thanks
himalaya use the extentedrom and storage as the persistent memory which will not be deleted on a hardreset
check out buzzdev.net for more info
universal and other devices made for 2005 only use flash for storage so it dont loose data on nobatt or hardreset
RE
Hi Rudegar,
Thanks for the info.
So, in the case of upgrading to WM2005 for the Himalaya the storage area (RAM) has been effectively enlarge to form the persistent storage, right?
Well, in both cases (Himalaya and WM5 devices) how to remove programs (not just cab files) that are installed in the persistent storage? Go into the persistent stoarge and manually remove them or is there an easier way?
Thanks again
RE
Hi Rudegar,
I think I did not elaborate my last sentence. What I meant was after a hard reset am I suppose to go into the persistent storage area (for the WM5 upgraded Himalaya and the WM5 device) and manually remove all the installed programs?
Many thanks
yes depending on which buzzdev rom you use the extentented rom and storage will be merged into a persistent space
and you format the persistent space from inside the 2005 bootloader

Memory allocation, T-mobile stored install data

I decided to have a go at ROM upgrade, originally had WM2003.
upgraded to the WM2005 and everything worked ok, but memory was reduced from 128 to 64.
I then had problems installing tomtom 5 and also would no longer communicate with a PC,
Decided to go back to WM2003, but could only find a 2003SE ROM.
anyway installed that, and when it booted, memory was back to 128 and it also started installing all of the T-mobile programs again,
Is there any way to remove this installer? or remove the programs, as most came up with a message that they were for an older version of windows.
they did not install on WM2005 though, which probably explains the missing memory.
this has cured the problem of communicating with a PC, now detects the device correctly and starts activesync.
I have looked in the remove programs to try and uninstall the T-mobile data, it would be good to get rid of it and free up more memory, does anyone know how to do this?
wm2005 beta that you used
use the FLash of storage and extented rom for data
and all the ram on the device as normal ram
because devices not made for 2005 only have 32MB storage
people cant install much on their device
on 2003 ram is devided between normal ram and Data ram
where you install programs
ppl made it so they use some of the 128Program ram as a ram disk
so they have more storage space then 32MB
this is why your device only had 64MB because the rest was made into a ramdisk
when a 2003 device hardreset some of the storage called extented rom have programs which are auto installed
on 2005 that space is used for normal storage
so programs dont auto install on 2005
if you unlock your extented rom Look Wiki.xda-develoers.com
you can remove cab files you dont want it to auto install when you use 2003 you just unhide and unlock the extented rom remove the cab files you dont want remove their entry from the config.txt and lock and hide the extented rom again and hardreset

the only thing I think will erase any and all leftover corrupt data that is messing up your phone is task 29. these are things you need to do.
*if you haven't ever flashed a custom rom, and want to, do a hard spl(find the one specific to your phone) if your not going to flash a custom rom hard spl is not necessary, just find the neccesary stock rom package.
*Do a task 29 .http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=644781
*flash any rom.
*reformat your sd card to fat 32.( make sure to save any files you want before formatting as it will delete all info on card.
I hope you taking these steps help you bring your phone back.
DISCLAIMER!! I AM NOT RESPONSABLE FOR YOU MESSING UP YOUR PHONE, SO MAKE SURE YOU READ UP ON THESE STEPS I TOLD YOU SO YOU DON'T MAKE THINGS WORSE, GOOD LUCK
is it only programmes installed on your sd card that it cannot detect?
if so? It may be that your phone has created a new sd card? (in other words your old sd card may now show as sd card 1) If so then delete this new one and the old one will reappear.
Just a thought and if it does not work sorry.
