[Q] What type of App2SD supported? - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I want to ask, what type of app2sd supported on this device?
App2SD Xtreme, Dark Thremor App2SD?
I've tried created a partition (ext2/ext3/ext4) but it is not detected by Titanium Backup likes some device (eg.Galaxy Mini)

Some says they have tried link2sd.
I really want to enable darktremor a2SD too cause Im nearly out of phone memory lol

i guess it's because some app cannot be moved to sd.
anyway, /system has tons of free space left. why not moving apps to /system/app?? i still have free space more than 100mb in /system even after moving all of my installed apps to /system/app...

I have a 2GB card also. Kept 500 MB for apps and its more than enough (installed huge amount of apps and still got 300MB to spare).
Keep as much as possible for your songs/pics/videos.
Installed app2sd with 294mb for apps and 1.66gb for media.
Works perfectly.
But tell me one thing:
App2sd doesn't only work on android 2.2? or it works on 2.1?

[Q]RAM capacity extend?

I was curious if it is possible to extend RAM memory by cutting a partition from the SD card and using it... Is it possible? From my little knowledge about Unix systems, this memory is called SWAP. If we made this possible, e.x. Reach 512 MB RAM memory, then GingerBread would run very smoothly on our MINIs (and PROs)
I know, that in Windows (Vista and above) is possible to optimize RAM by extenting cache into a USB or SD. I am not sure if this is possible on Linux/Unix systems...
I have no actual idea, but just the idea! Please help me know if it is possible... :-D

Nope it's possible.
But it did not preform well even with my big over clocked x10 the class 8 SD just could not keep up the pace with all the traffic on the SD card.
Even with a massive 8mb read & write ram cache for the SD it just could not deal with it.
Our bootloader is now unlocked and most custom kernels out there now have swap.(i.e. the SD RAM)

How to earn free space on internal storage

In this thread I'll show youHow to have 100mb (or more ) free in internal storage
It works with ALL versions of CM7
For that, just go in :
-Settings
-CyanogenMod settings
-Application
From now use the thing which is in your head...
Tick "Allow application moving"
And tap "install location" => a window is opening (whoah I'll achieve something in my life ) and now tick "external"
DONE !!!!!!!!
Now choose the app you want and tap on "move to SD card"
You can do this with ALL apps
Don't say thanks just press this magic button
I should precise with this method you don't need to install any apps and I have 155 apps and 132 mb free
I'm using link2sd

This method does not moves the entire application to the sd card, it hardly moves a maximum of 50% for most of the apps.
I think link2sd is a better way.
Anyways thanks for sharing, it does clears up some space though.
Link2sd is better for newbies...
And deleting system/app get more mb, get rid those bloatware...

A2SD scripts on CM9/AOKP...

Before I attempt using darktremors or ungaze on cm9/apoplexy..I wanted to know if it was compatible? I've seen a post similiar to this before but haven't been able to find the exact post....I'm currently using gingerbread roms with darktremors a2sd script along with s2e...I don't like using link2sd...it doesn't seem to clear up enough of the phones internal storage.....

Yes it does but IMO, swapping to sdcard is not very useful because it is the slowest memory in our device and swappin to it is not very efficient and I forgot to mention that sdcards normally have a high rate of data corruption and failures and swapping to it will only increase the risk of corrupting the card. Instead you can use swap to cache or zram, it would be more efficient and useful. Please don't misunderstand me, I'm not trying to spoil this thread or something (I hope I'm not spoiling it) just wanted to explain something useful :beer:
