I have posted this question on Precentral & Google but I'm not having any luck. I also just posted this ? on WebOS so hopefully XDA & WebOS will be able to help.
In trying to load/open Preware on the TP, it gives me an error. Below is a screenshot of the error & a screenshot of the Manage Feeds. I didn't try to add any feeds.
I did install Preware before the OTA upgrade. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. I have tried removing Preware & reinstall and gets the same persistent error message.
I haven't tried to customize any feeds yet.
What am I doing wrong? What do I need to do to correct this?
Can any experts tell me what I could have done to prevent this error? My brother has gotten a HP TP also so if I was to do this again, I'll like to know what I have done wrong to prevent it from happening again.

what id say is probably the best option is to remove preware and reinstall, it seems one of the links to the feeds may be incorrect, a reinstall should correct this, if not then you may need to individually turn off each feed one by one and then update feeds untill the problem stops, by doing that you will then find which feed it is that has the problem and hopefully be able to correct/replace it hope this helps

Hiya!
Thank you for your recommendation. Before I tried your route, I went ahead this afternoon (was sick of look at it for the whole weekend wondering what I did wrong) to try one more time on its own & Preware loaded.
Is this a server issue? (Or maybe - not Server but something similar?) Where it's so busy and it just messes up. (I'm not familiar with Preware/WebOS at all - total Noob!). I did not change anything on the FEEDS. All I did was try to load Preware & it actually worked!
Anyway, I got it to load - install all the recommendations and the sucker is fast!

Hey everyone i would like to start off with a thanks.
I have overclocked 4 16gb touchpads but on my fifth it was a 32GB and im having issues with the feeds in preware . with just the standard feeds im getting an error.
PREWARE
Unable to run command: /usr/bin/Ipkg -o/media/crytofs/apps update 2>&1
then it shows all the feeds with errors.

I don't what the resolution is, hoping someone who does will respond. I'm getting the same error on my 32GB.
Do your feed URLs have a / at the end of them? I ran into this problem, and removing the / fixed it.
im just using the default feeds on this so far all 16 gb are working like butter

It looks to me like one of the feeds may be down, or installed wrong. You could also try disabling them one-by-one until you find the culprit.
Another user reported the same error, and she waited a few hours, and it seemed to fix itself.

just a side note if anyone doesnt know you can get a few games at http://www.webosbuzz.com just use webos quick install, to install them. hit the plus icon add the downloaded file (.ipk ) and install. [ note need for speed takes a while to install ] ( 7 to 20 minutes depending on the pad )

Had a similar issue, did it on first install, and every subsequent reboot... a quick run of WebOS Dr, unit was restored, and everything worked like a dream...
I have the 32GB and to give you an idea, I had to webos doctor the whole thing to finally get it to accept the preware.is.awesome feed... (yes, I followed instructions to the T, 6 times, Kept failing the updates. Once the doctor was done, I set up the palm acc, loaded preware, Added the feeds, (reboot each time, Do not allow preware to update before reboot) and THEN it worked... (well worth the hassle too!)

So -- does the 32GB require different steps than the 16GB, or is this "non-typical"? I have a 32GB one and was thinking about trying to install Preware, etc.

I didn't have to do anything special on my 32GB... You guys made sure not to enter a password when you enabled dev mode, right?

I have a 32 and followed the same copy pasted directions that are everywhere and it all worked without a single problem. No webos doc used. Running uberkernel at 1.5 and everything is quick and smooth. I don't think it's a general issue.
I had the same issue, but I tried again last night, deleted all the offending listings, re-added the preware.is.awsome and it worked.... I had too done it multiple times with the same errors.... no clue what I did diffrently, maybe it was the deleting of the "bad" listings?

Everytime i start up my phone i get a services.exe error report. I googled the problem and found that on a pc this is normally a malware virus!
Will this be the case for my phone? Do i have a virus?

No i dont have g-profile installed, why would this cause the problem or is it a possible fix?

I have just gotten this problem and are wondering if this applies to the metal detector as well? I don't use g-profile so...
Will try to uninstall the metal detector now and see if the problem goes away...
I too have this problem - had it for a few weeks now but not a major issue as I don't often reboot phone, but frustrating when I do.
I had the metal detector app and BsB Tweaks installed before this started to happen, so don;t think it could be them. I did install G-alarm from ageye a while back, but I have no deleted this too as it expired - maybe this could have caused it?

I have g-profile installed and get this every time i reboot the phone. Why does it appear when g-profile is installed and what does it mean/do??

@bluearmyb, which device do you have? T-Mobile US, or one of the European versions? I have the T-Mobile US HD2, and I started to get this same error soon after I started using it. I looked at the detail, and it looked like coredll.dll was the culprit. I tried removing apps and nothing seemed to fix it. I was using the stock T-Mobile US ROM.
I tried to find a pattern and the only one I found was that it would start occurring after I installed a large number of apps, in any order. I tried installing mods, then games, then other apps, and every variation thereof. I would hard reset, start installing, and rebooting after EVERY installation. It occurred for different apps at different times, but always after I installed a lot of them.
I have since installed HSPL2-1024, and have installed several ROMS. I'm currently using Miri's Elegancia colored by Steve0007. It has been flawless thus far, and I have installed all my apps. I have not received the error even once, so I'm not sure it's related to any particular app.
By the way, I think, THINK, that coredll.dll is part of the .NET Compact Framework.
I would like to know if there has been anyone, receiving this error on reboots, who is using a cooked ROM.
Not much help but maybe it can assist in identifying a pattern.

I thought I would add what happened to me today:
I have been getting the "services.exe/coredll.dll" error message on boot-up after installing about 15 or more games simultaneously (without soft resetting each time). This error occurred right after I finally did a soft reset... and had been happening for the past 3 or 4 days.
As I installed more and more stuff to my memory card (16 Gig - Class 2 from my T-Mobile package - USA), I noticed that my HD2's screen response was pausing very slightly. Since I have an 8 Gig micro-SD Class 4 in my now retired HTC Kaiser, I decided to transfer all my stuff from the 16 Gig to 8 Gig (minus the Transformer movies). After the transfer, I still had 4 Gigs free, with a TomTom 2 Gig map installed).
Well guess what? not only is screen response as fast as it was out-of-the-box, BUT THERE IS NO LONGER THAT ANNOYING ERROR MESSAGE UPON BOOT UP.
I am now wondering if the error message I was getting might have been due to the HD2 not being able to read a needed file or files during boot-up and gave that error, due to the slower class 2 speed, or maybe due to files becoming fragmented on said SD card?... I'm not sure what it was, but it solved my problem.
If any of you still have this problem, it might be worth a try.
I am going to order a 16 Gig class 6 in the next 2 weeks, after giving this 8 Gig'er a good whirl.... I'll check back in, if this error rears its ugly head again.
By the way, I have a stock ROM, straight from T-Mobile USA.

I installed Chainfire-HD2-3D-Driver-Patch-2.0.cab, resetted, Chainfire-TG01-D3DM.cab resetted. Everything looked ok. Proceeded and installed BsB Tweaks v1.6 and since it did not asked for reset (big mistake for being lazy, should have known better to be safe), I installed HD2Tweak v1.2.0 then resetted and started having the coredll.dll/services error. At first I thought it may be due to CHT which I initially had problem days before with Sense failing to load after failing to cleanly uninstall v1.7.0. but solved it by installing v1.7.1. So I reinstalled v1.7.1. Didn't help. Then I found your post and uninstalled HD2Tweak. Problem gone. I figured perhaps I should try again. This time no error after reset. But when I did a shutdown, my HD2 couldn't power up, even the red button reset failed. Fortunately, pulling out the battery did the trick. Now monitoring for futher issues.

I got this error when I installed the 3d - driver patch for the leo. I am using a t mobile us phone with the stock rom on it. I just installed the driver and the error went away
Same with me - it seems to be the TG1 3d Patch from Chainfire - as soon as I uninstalled it the problem was gone. So far...
after reading your posts ,i want to share my experience with services.exe ,from what i have seen sometimes when i install apps that are for hd2 i get the services.exe report,but if i uninstall whatever installed before the repot than the
report is gone,i think services.exe is just an incompatibility report
I had the services.exe error too when restarting my device. Since I saw metal detector mentioned here I uninstalled it and the problem seems to be solved now.

just uninstall the latest program that you installed 1 by 1 and test it out.
I removed the street fighter game, problem solved!
So now that the new Firefox 4 Beta 5 is out, I personally think Firefox is the best Tablet browser available. Its unique approach to tabs works well on a tablet, as does the back button. The earlier versions were super slow, but I think this new one has caught up a lot. I now prefer it greatly to Dolphin HD.
I have installed the following add-ons to maximize my Nook Color internet use:
-Quit Fennec- force closes after last tab closes, a must
-Phony- easy User Agent changer, another must
-readability- fixes messy pages to fit
-Full Screen- Does what it says and makes browsing a joy

I agree. Seems stable and fast (compared to Dolphin). I also used Sync to import all my passwords and favorites from my desktop.
I'll give it a try, it was even slower and klunkier than Dolphin HD last time I tried it, I use Opera 10 on my NC and it's great. I've tried Mirin too but something about that browser bugs me, can't really put my finger on it.
Can you guys post an apk? I can't get to it from market or Mozilla's website.

Thanks for the link. But everytime I try to install this, it seems to progress, asks about permissions, but at the end, says "program not installed". I've enabled usb debugging, used titanium backup to uninstall the previous left overs of Fennec, and I still get this message. A little stumped.
is this compatible with Android 2.1 with the latest dalingrin OC? I cannot get the apk to install. launched the Package Installer and installation would not get through saying "Application not installed"
Also each time I start the installer, it would warn that the app will replace an existing appl, but i do not currently have a fennec/firefox appl installed. Titanium Backup does not show any fennec/firefox app.

I gave this a try based on this thread. While I do like the UI and it has a snappy response, the app itself is not ready for prime-time. If you try to enter numeric information into a field, it causes the insertion point to jump around. For example, I tried to visit the website for a local library and when it asked me to enter in my library card #, instead of "1234..." it would go "1243...". The insertion of characters as I typed them magically skipped around in the field. This was not isolated to just that website. Happened on a registration form on Adobe's site as well. Very annoying.

I personally think Miren browser is the best for the nook. I have it set so that that status bar/tabs stays around all the time, and the floating buttons always hide. The only issue is that it doesn't work well with image links when they are opened in a new tab. In the new tab it will instead go to the link of the picture, not the actual link to the website. I will try this though, I tried the beta a long time ago so it will be nice to see how far they have come.

I have noticed this too. The only (painful) solution I have found is to very slowly type with a pause in-between each letter. Thank goodness it can sync with my desktop Firefox and slurp up all my passwords to avoid this mostly.
OMG SERIOUSLY? I tried Firefox last night for about 20 minutes and it GROUND TO A HALT each time I tried to search or put input in the URL bar. It'd freeze, if I tried to do anything I'd get the FC/Wait dialog, I hit Wait several times.. Finally killed it, tried again... Same thing. Eventually it'd load the page.
If you all think it's great, I wonder wtf is going on with my install. Maybe I need to uninstall it, make sure any old sdcard stuff is cleaned (I had it installed a few betas ago) and try again. Totally unusable for me right now.
I'm hoping the FF Deskop Ad Block Pro extension works with the FF mobile soon. That can make the internet a much more bearable place.

Yeah, Flash doesn't work so far.
i just noticed that the "My Apps" button in the market now looks like a phone and says "sprint"
If i click on it it doesn't take me to my apps.
Anyone else having this problem?
That's normal for this build. If you click on your Menu, you'll find My Apps there.

I've noticed that if I let the g-tab go to sleep, I'm having to reboot it get it to wake up.
Is anyone else having this issue? I've had my tablet since x-mas, but have nto used it much. It sat in a desk drawer for about 2 months, and I'm just now getting into using it.

I have this issue with every rom ive tried on my gtab. So now I pretty much just install clem's kernel everytime. Plus it gives me CIFS so I can stream media from my windows pc .

Yeah, again it's just the build. There are a ton of hacks that will get you more of the market, but I doubt you'll ever get "everything". Considering that the GTab wasn't blessed by Google, we're lucky to have the devs here to get the market at all.

Another issue with this ROM. Some have fixed it by going to Clemsyn's kernel, others to Pershoot's and still others by using CPU Master Free. Personally, I just set my tab's Screen Timeout to Never. What can I say...I like simple.

I agree. The only problems I see with it are no news and weather widget like on tnt, and the horrible photo album (I think it's from stock?)

This may be a stupid question, so I am sorry if it is, but Calkulins v1.1 says it is "Based on rooted 2.2 / FRF91 - TnT 3991"...
so can you run it on the 1.1-3588 firmware, or will that brick?

ROM's and Firmware are the same thing. If you're asking whether you can use ClockworkMod or standard recovery, the answer is yes. Calkulin's ROM is a hybrid using the newer 3991 build for features but the older bootloader and recovery. It shouldn't cause you any trouble loading it over 3588.

Woot!! I will say, I bought this on the woot! deal... and although I consider myself very computer savvy, I have never rooted/hijacked/whatever a device before...
Happily this was super easy! I wanted use the stock ROM for a bit to get familiar with it, but I just couldn't stand how slow/unresponsive/just crappy it was!!
So I jumped the gun and started in... luckily I did a lot of reading first!!
Loaded up Clockworkmod - and made a backup first!! lol
Used clockworkmod to install Calkulins ROM---OMG is it fast!!
The found that I was having the sleep-death issue... so I loaded up Clemsyns Kernel Too!!
Not a single hiccup! Even for a noob- this is super easy! Just follow all the great advice on the XDA forums (and don't skip steps!) and you can't screw it up.
Thanks to all the great people on here, for the hard work, and patience... I love seen good communities like this!

clakulins ROM is my prefered ROM so far
But, it needs some issues to be addressed to make it my daily driver.
1- sleep-to-death
I know we can use another kernel to fix this (so I keep this fix for later if everything else can work)
2- Settings/Family accounts/add member
This FC every single time. I definitly need this functionality. My Gtab being a family device....
3- Photos is horrible as previosuly pointed out in this thread. I want a centralized place for all my photos, or at least for local storage + picasa. With this gallery, we can only access picasa public albums. What about my own account !!!
4- Photos started to display pictures roatated one quarter to the left. It doesnt let me re-rotate them back to original. It does that for evey single picture, i cant fix this. Photos is now unusable
I tried a few Photos gallery apps from the market (6-7 so far). None of them works to my liking.
I just want somethings simple that get access to all my pics.
5- Cant play videos anymore. Not even the sample 'car' and 'king kong' that came with the Gtab.
If I can fix all of the above, calkulin will be my only and permanent ROM.
(ps items 4 and 5 were previously working ok in this ROM, this started yesterday)
Also, another things that is on my whish list:
- Have bluetooth HID
I have this blutooth keyboard collecting dust on the used parts shelve that I would like to use with the Gtab

But now instead of comlaining that it cant play videos, it just FC on every videos I try to play.
I feel a complete reinstall will be necessary.

There's a lengthy black screen between the Team B splash and the CM7 boot animation on the first boot at least. Don't panic.

there was no link to market. Flashed gapps and there still was no link to the market.
I sideloaded the market and it told me I was replacing a system app, overwrote it, now there is a market icon.
??
Also had to eject and re insert my sd card to be recognized.
Edit: Maybe there is not supposed to be, as I have never used CM7 before, but Busybox does not come with this ROM?

You need to connect to wireless first.

As mentioned above you need to connect to wifi for market to show up. The SD card issue seems to effect certain devices, usually after the first time of having to eject and re insert your card it won't happen again

Yup . first thing I did was connect to wireless..Reflashed ROM , seems to be OK now.
Neither of these are high priority items but still can't access B&N store or magazines.
Otherwise very, very impressed.
I for one can say this is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally, full market access. You guys have done a wonderful job putting this together. Fast to install. Fast to boot. Wifi setup no problem. OK - I will be the brave one here. I didn't want to lose all the customizations since the original download. So... I just installed the zip file and only wiped cache. So far I have given every app on my NT a quick run through and everything is working great. In fact, it came right up, automatically logged onto my wifi, and proceeded same as before. I love the new boot screen!
One note - I did get a FC message the first time I ran Google Maps. However, it still started up, even with the message. So I went back and started and stopped several times and could not replicate. Must be a start-up issue.
Second note - perhaps this is the "joy of a new toy" category, but my screen appears much crisper and with more details. In addition, when using a stylus, it is reacting much faster with more accuracy. Perhaps the video improvements helped this as well???

Did you wipe data as suggested in the OP? I had similar problems first time I tried installing CM7 and then once I wiped Data all was well... Just know wiping data really does delete all you data so make sure you make a Titanium Backup before installing If you want to more easily restore your prior apps and data.
went back into recovery and wiped a second time.. all good now.. truly amazing btw

There should be no need what so ever to have to remove your SD card to install anything now, I just installed gravity boy with my SD card in.
If this is failing on your device please consider wiping data as it's possible you have some stuff left over from a previous install on your machine.
Wiping data will reset your device back to basic CM7 so you will loose anything installed and all your settings.
Performance seems to have improved to a noticeable degree. I know Gonce mentioned overclocking but I don't see evidence of that (at a glance).
Battery seems to be charging much more quickly. I was pretty low when I installed so can't speak to drainage yet.
Otherwise I haven't found any problems yet.
Well, followed your instructions to the T, Celtic, must say it's very impressive how quickly this is shaping up to be a great build. I also love that you now have the internal storage accessible within the OS as well. Very cool.
One minor thing though - it seems like my SD card isn't detected on boot. I've got to re-insert it when the device powers on. I know this isn't necessarily a big deal because most people keep it on from days to weeks putting it to sleep rather than fully powering off, but it is a tiny bit odd. Other than that, though, no other SD card issues to remark of so far. Excellent work. Truly excellent.

The sdcard issue is known. It should be fine after first boot.
As for the OC, I don't believe that update is ready yet.
I have been running this particular build for days. I have had absolutely zero FC's. I haven't had issues with any apps not installing. Hell, we even got Whatsapp working on it for the most part by setting it up on a phone and Tibu'ing it into this build.

it happened to one of our testers actually, every reboot required sd to be ejected and put back in, they popped the sd in the computer for something, then when it went back to Nook it never did it again.... Not sure if it's a slight corruption on the SD which the nook doesn't like. Nook is really fussy with SD's anyway so it might just be a little bug, there's nothing we’ve found so far to help if it's a software issue. Could be a timeout issue but I notice for some people it doesn't realise it's been ejected either ...

Due to the risk involved we have not yet attempted to recreate this issue on our own devices!

I'd been turning it off to charge also, I think i'll follow their directions and see if it charges faster.

Thanks for the link. I'll try to charge it without turning the nook off. if it does charge faster, the question would be, "is there any way for it to charge quickly while off?"
On a side note,I did wonder why the nook would always boot up when I plug in the charger after the nook powered down from low battery.

Just a quick thanks to Celtic & the rest of the people working on the Nook Tablet... thanks!!! Btw, on one of your forum thread pictures I've noted that your screen is quite smudgy. If you need a screen protector for your nook or any of your newer 8 GB models, let me know, at your service.
And as a side note, I've got absolutely no issues w/ your Alpha CM7 release. No wifi issues, nada. Perhaps this is because my wifi network is password less and only authentication method is via wireless mac filter. Only thing if anything is that sometimes (seldomly) when I swap SD Cards while it's powered on, the device will display the Cyanogen 7 boot animation while booted. A quick rotation from portrait to landscape mode fixes this and allows you to press the home button and "home on out" of this.

This one is VERY long and a little bit daunting, and I am sure that the new rom will bring with it new bugs. This one is almost excessively about video playback and wifi, and the new rom (As I understand) fixes both.
Who would have thought that casually asking if CM7 would be easier and less time consuming could have led to this well polished and very impressive result?

hi guys, just wanted to say about 2 issues that i saw on my NT.
1. The sleep issue - I've saw that was already posted about 5 pages ago, just wanted to tell i got it too ... after closing the NT the second day could not start it up... had to long press power button a couple of times (didn't knew about shortcut PWR + N button)
2. somehow related to the first one. While playing music, after approx 15 min the sounds stops . I've pressed the Pwr on NT and the playlist is on screen and a song appear to be playing but no sound. I've tried to go to running applications too force kill the app but a get a error message about Force/wait/ ... After that I tried to restart with long press and selected restart/shutdown but it doesn't do anything , again had to long press to shut it down.
Hope this helps, i could try to get some logs if that helps.

Well I finally had to downgrade to v2.6 before it would work correctly. It's not as feature-rich as the latest version, but it does work now.
Just noticed something...doesn't the first post normally have a link to the software being discussed?
I have been running your first release since its inception, and it has IMO, ran fantastic compared to the first release of CM7 for the old Nook Color at this current point. That NC unit and its early CM7 was a great way to learn to troubleshoot bootloops and SOD's!
Anyway, I downloaded your updated CM7 Alpha 12 straight to the tablet and installed. I wanted to try install with only a cache and dalvik wipe first. This went surprisingly well and has been running smooth for several hours now. So far so good!
The first glitch I had on install was the old Market and updated Google play seemed to fight each other with their update. Once the browser was up, I downloaded the new Google Play apk and installed overwritting the old Market directly. Then it took well. After a reboot, all apps were restored using Titanium Backup, and another reboot. I did have one point where I had to pop the SD and reinsert as expected but no prob there.
I want to thank you and all other Team B Devs for this great work. Donation inbound!

This thread will be almost completely wiped soon when the new internal verison is released, its' getting rather long now and people don't read when it's only a few pages so with 65 pages theres no chance!
When the thread is cleared I'll add in links to the software at the begining too. I'll also be requesting that people post in a set manor. Something like

Ok, so this was a bit daunting for me. I've rooted my EVO several times, with several roms and had little difficulty. The NT, however was an horse of a different color.
I first used Nook and Zergy a month or so ago. Never got it working good, but good enough (better than stock B&N)
Then I tried using CMW_SD_flash_and_exe. After much frustration yesterday, I finally figured out that the NT won't boot from the SD card unless the power cable is plugged in. I could finally get into a boot loader program, but kept getting installation aborted when trying to install the ZIP. The CM7_NT_Alpha12_Public1.zip was too big once I made my SD card a boot loader, so I ended up copying this Zip to the tablet's internal memory and installing from there.
I don't know if i'm truly "rooted" in the sense that I can now boot the nook into recovery mode any time, or if I will need to use the SD card to load new ROMs.
My phone is working such that I can reboot into recovery mode any time I want without an SD card. Not sure how I would do that with the NT, or if I'm comparing apples to oranges as it were.
Anyway, all seems to be working, I wiped cache/dalvik cache/data and rebooted. CM7 seems to have loaded, I put in my google account and it's off to the races. After sharing my phones WiFi (thanks to being rooted) my NT is now dl all my installed apps. I think I upgraded to Play from Market so for now I think all is well! Sorry for the long post, but wanted to share my defeats and my success!

Get Indirects CWM App. It will perm install CWM so you can get to it by holding down Power + N (without need for SDcard).

You need to flash CWM internally if you want to be able to get to recovery like you do with your phone.
