[SOLVED] Safe to use Magnetic Case with Touchpad? - TouchPad General

I recently bought a folding case for my touchpad and noticed that there are two small magnets near the cover to hold it closed. Are these safe to use with the tablet?

yes. They will not harm the device at all. No worries.

Bobjgear Hard Side Travel Bag & Bobjgear Silicone Case

Hi all!!
I bought Bobjgear branded Hard side travel bag & a silicone case a few months back after my TF300T fell off my dresser onto a corner and suffered catastrophic damage. I've never actually used the travel bag, and the silicone case is good but the tablet gets heavy to hold so I have reverted to using my case with a stand.
My question is, is there anywhere I can go to sell or trade for this item, since the marketplace has been shut down? Not trying to violate any forum rules here, but I didn't know if there was a 3rd party community marketplace or something else set up that I wasn't aware of. [As an aside, it says asking a question is breaking forum rules, but then how can one get an opinion on an accessory or gadget without asking a question? I'm confused....]
For anyone who only uses the tablet at home and not holding it for extended (>30min) length of time, I'd greatly recommend the silicone case! I can't really review the hard sided travel case as its still sitting in its original plastic wrap.
Thanks alot!

[Q] 10.1 Case

Hello all. I am looking for a case for my Tab 2, 10.1" model. I have a case that is nice except I can't plug it in to charge unless the flap is open since the charging port is on the bottom. I'd love to have a folio-style case that I can plug in and charge the tablet while the cover is closed. I don't care if I have to unplug it to open the case though.
Any ideas?
I use this and I love it.

Search the web as I'm sure young an find it cheaper.
You have to taken the tablet out completely to use it but the case adds no bulk at all.
This case is not a stand either. But then I put this slim stand in the case and its there whenever in need it.

I have been using this set up for months and love it.

Need a flip cover for the tablet [charging without opening it]

Hello Everyone,
I bought Sony Xperia Tablet Z few months ago. I was using official sony cover which came with the tablet. After 3 months of usage I found out that the screen has scratches where it is always protected by the cover itself. Therefore I gave it to sony and they replaced it with a new tablet. However, I cannot use the cover now and therefore I need a new one.
I am looking for a flip cover where I can charge my tablet without opening the cover.
Please suggest one. I am located in India.
I have used MoKo(TM) Slim Cover Case for Sony Xperia Tablet Z 10.1 inch. You can buy it in Amazon. I live in Norway and Amazon doas not post it to Europe, so ordered it from Aliexpress fro China.
BTW. After I received Moko Slim Cover, I have modified my original Sony cover the same way by cutting small window 50x22 mm, 25 mm fom the edge.
I bought a poetic slim case from Amazon. Works great! there is an opening in the cover to plug the cable in while the cover is closed.

Poetic slim will damage LCD, I stopped using it and had to return my previous xperia tablet z because of pixel damage. The tablet is so flexible that removing device from the case puts a lot, too much pressure on the LCD.
I then bought the sony case and I prefer it. Haven't had any scratches from using it, its smooth on the inside. I kept the built factory applied screen protector on the tablet

Thanks for your input. It seems that it's better not to use any case then.
You guys have links for these cases that you recommend?

Sony case is good. Only applies presurre from the left and right side of the screen landscape. You can remove tablet just by sliding it in and out (as opposed to having to bend your tablet, lol) it also provides a bevel for shock protection and can be used with the charging cradle.
The poetic slim feels nicer and i would recommend this case if you plan on never removing your tablet againand never dropping your tablet or if you do not plan on using the charging cradle. I use the cradle because I think overtime waterproof feature will be better maintained and I have read reports of the USB connector breaking off. Want to save that connector for delicate flashing use only

Desk stand that allows for S-View case

Hello,
Just wondering if anyone has a cheap desk stand that can cope with the Note in it's official S-View case.
Some are moulded to only hold it without any case on.
Also one that provide data as well as charge would be good as I've noticed some are just power.
Thanks,
Daniel
Nintendo wii u gamepad stand paired with a cable to the computer is how I do it. 6 bucks.

Magnetic Car Mount - Mountek nGroove Snap 3

Has anyone tried a magnetic car mount with their nexus 6? Specifically the Mountek nGroove Snap 3 - http://www.amazon.com/Mountek-nGroo...ablets/dp/B00MNXAFQ6/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
I used a magnetic mount with my Nexus 5 and loved it. I'm wondering how hard it would be to bend the magnet to work on the n6. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
I lost all hope using a magnetic dock with my N6..
If anyone got it to work do share..

I just ordered one, should be here Wednesday. I'll be sure to report back!
Yeah just ordered one today also, can't go wrong with the current price. If it doesn't work will just sell/give it away on craigslist/friends.
Tried it with my old magnet mount, it holds ok with a case on holding the metal back plate between the case and the phone. But doesn't hold firm enough for me to chance it with the phone. But then again it's some generic magnet mount, not a mountek.
I just ordered this yesterday after returning the standard CD mount that uses clamps. The clamps were interfering with the buttons way to much, and I didn't like how off centered the weight was when clamping the phone on the bottom portion of the phone. This is definitely a fail in button placement for this application. Hopefully the magnetic mount will be stellar!
Hi, i just bought it as well, i also ordered these. http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B007F0QRYG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If the magnet that comes with it can't bend or wont work well with the 6, maybe these little flexible magnets will work. I report back today when they arrive to see if they work well

That mount looks like a disaster.... I can't post links, but type into amazon "maggrip car mount" and get that one. It's a lot neater
Metal
Not that easy to apply, looks nice. Camera piece to fake for my liking. Feels good, little sharp on the bottom side of edges when holding.
Just tested nGroove 3 with the caseology TPU case and it worked great! Phone locked on and was very secure.
However, I like showing off the nexus logo on the back and don't know if I want to keep the caseology TPU case (using the spigen ultra hybrid currently)... Does anyone have any recommendations on how to place these magnets/plates and show off the nexus logo? I could probably use the Rinke max and put the magents on the both sides of the logo but the case may be too thick.
I was also thinking about sticking some magnets/plates behind the back cover.. does anyone know if there is a warranty seal for the back cover? I looked at the teardown but didn't see anything about the warranty seal.
OP - Just received this mount from Amazon yesterday, and I have to say it's worth it! I have a Nissan Titan and the CD slot is in the perfect spot for a mount like this I also like that the mount doesn't grip the side of the phone and press up against the buttons. I bought it from the Amazon warehouse for $15 and the unit I received looked new. You do have to tighten down the CD slot insert to endure the phone doesn't sag when you place it on the bracket, but once its tight, the phone holds steady and secure on the magnetic steel plate.
@born_fisherman what case are you using?

Tudia TPU slim case. The steel plate for the magnet fits nice behind the phone with the case on

The case is nice. I've used Tudia for a few phones now, and never have an issue with build quality. They fit perfect and keep the phone slim.

Very interested in seeing how this worked. Any updates?
Works great.
I put the large tablet size piece that came with the stand in a case and the magnet does have some flexibility to it so it fits well in the slight curve of a N6 case.
The connection is strong and holds up going through bumps etc.
Worth the buy
I assume that if your using a magnetic holder with a steel plate attached to your phone or case, that you are not using a Qi charger. Wouldn't the steel plate would heat up when using wireless charging? I had some problems with my N5 with overheating if my phone was not in the correct place on my Qi charger, the metal in the phone used to attach the N5 to the official nexus charger would get hot.

I've been trying various magnet mounts and qi chargers hoping to find the right combination of the two. Unfortunately, in order to avoid blocking the qi coil you end up moving the magnet mount further up the back of the phone almost near the bottom of the "M" dimple. Placing a strong magnet near that part of the phone will trigger the screen shutting off "smart cover" style (coming back on again as soon you remove the magnet). I'm beginning to suspect that in order to really get everything (qi, nfc, magnet mount, with the screen on) working together right might require building something a bit more customized.
I personally am also using the mountek snap 3 mount and I have had no issues after affixing the tablet sized metal plate about 2/3 of the way down, ive ordered some extra magnets to improve the hold on the device so i dont have to worry about precisely placing the device on the Mount
