[SOLVED] Uninstall / Remove F15C Eagle - TouchPad General

Hi,
I've followed the instructions and installed the F15C Eagle patch / kernel for the Touchpad and all it working nice and fast.
Saying that I'm getting some issues with apps hanging but that may be my wifi.
Is there a documented way to reverse the changes that the F15C Eagle makes and un-install it and put back to the original state?
Thanks
Lee

Go into preware-> installed-> kernels. Select remove at the bottom.

Hi, if you want to uninstall the kernel. Simply go to preware, allow it to load. Then click on all application --> Kernel ---> Recovery kernel ---> Install that and will reset it to the original kernel. Then you can install other kernels as you please. Good luck, I found that the uberkernel is the best.

Thanks all. Thought I'd check first - didn't want to turn it into £115 paperweight!

[Q] Removing F15c Eagle after Reset
I searched for this but couldnt find anything, I seen the instructions to remove F15c Eagle but they don't work for me.
Basically I had F15c Eagle on the machine and did a factory reset, now I've reinstalled preware/govnah added all the feeds etc.. but it doesn't show that F15c is installed (when it actually is, even when I did the factory reset, when the machine rebooted I got the F15c boot loader screen and I am able to use Govnah to overclock)
Also the F15C Eagle Touchpad Icon is showing in my Downloads, when I click on it I just get a black minimized screen, if I tap into it, it goes full screen but nothing happens, and I can't click on the Dropdown arrow at the top left like other apps.
How can I uninstall F15c? I tried "installing it" but it gives me this error after it downloads and tries to install

Hmm. I seem to have the same issue. Any luck using webos doctor?

I always figured Webos Doctor was kind of a last gasp solution. What I did to fix the F15C inability to install, uninstall, was go to Preware and I installed the "Palm Kernal (Touchpad)" stock kernal first. Crossed my finger as I system rebooted. Seemed like the longest reboot ever. Double checked with Govnah that I was indeed back to crappy, stock, 1.2Ghz, then went back into Preware and installed the latest version of F15C. Reboot, rinse, lather, repeat. Now I'm back to the OC'd state and F15C is back to normal. I hope this helped. If you guys did Webos Doctor, please post your result. I'd like to know for future instance when I might need it .

[Q] TZDATA problem on WebTop

After some google action, I'm posting my problem here:
Scenary:
Gear: Motorola Atrix 4G AT&T - stock ROM (4.5.91, Android 2.3.4, WebTop version WT-1.2.0-110)
1. run webtop2sd (1.1.2) - OK
2. running web scripts - OK
Then when trying to install for example openoffice.org or trying to do:
# sudo dpkg-reconfigure tzdata
(setting to Europe/Ljubljana - or any other location for that matters)
Current default timezone: 'Europe/Ljubljana/
date: invalid date 'Wed Oct 5 07:06:25 UTC 2011'
This is the reason why packages that update or configure tzdata (tzdata-java) fail with apt-get or synaptic.
What I tried:
probably all locations with reconfiguring tzdata.. fail
manualy edited timezone.. fail
removing&reinstaling tzdata.. epic fail
Anybody else has this issue... solved ?
Same here! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Not the right answer, but this works...
I was having the same problem, and after a few hours of struggling, here's what I eventually did.
Edit the file /var/lib/dpkg/info/tzdata.postinst and on the first blank line (3 rows down) just put exit 0 which makes the script stop and return a success. This isn't a good solution, but it does work.
Now i can go on my merry way installing things to my hearts content, but I'd love to hear if someone has a proper solution...

thanks a millon man,that totally fixed my problem I was having with my webtop
I took another look at this and has anyone tried adding exit 0 to just after the second to last fi close of the if then part at the bottom, I use dthe workaround posted above and went back looked over it more after having installed a few programs and added exit 0 to line 46 and it seems to be working fine. Can some one confirm this for me if they are looking at it for the first time on their version of webtop.
Hi there, I have a new install webtop2sd, and the script still failed after adding exit 0 at line 46. I have put exit 0 at line 3 afterwards to get past the problem.
I figured out the cause of the 'invalid date' problem. Actually the bug is on the end of the file in the following lines:
Code:
UTdate=$(LC_ALL=C TZ=UTC0 date -d "$TZBase")
TZdate=$(unset TZ ; LANG=C date -d "$TZBase")
The problem is that webtop uses Busybox instead of the 'original' tools. Busybox has an incomplete implementation of 'date -d'. Replacing it with an alternative like GNU Tools is the best solution for this problem. But this could be complicated and I have not much time. Adapting this script to Busybox is easier and still better than the 'exit' workaround.
All you have to do is replacing the line
Code:
TZBase=$(LC_ALL=C TZ=UTC0 date)
with
Code:
TZBase=$(LC_ALL=C TZ=UTC0 date +%m%d%H%M%Y.%S)

[Q] MySQL on Webtop

Hi
I tried to install AMP(apache, mysql, php5) since I was interested on using Atrix as a web server.
Apache was success, but MySQL was failure. No MySQL, No PHP5(of course)
I tried force installing Busybox using dpkg expecting to be updated(version stayed same), removing and making directories that makes the problem, No luck.
I think it's related to my outdated Busybox(readlink?) There's too many problems here.
Lot of people just say "it's impossible" but why not? At least I want to know why it fails.
I have terminal log below. Sorry for bad, bad english.

I found out it is impossible. Many repos are dead and crucially Ubuntu in this is outdated (without LTS)
I sold the Atrix and bought ARM-based Open PCs (e.g. Raspberry Pi, Cubieboard, Beaglebone Black, Udoo, etc..)
If you want low-power web server, this might be the way to go
(Ubuntu Phone might work but I'm not sure YET)

Did you try gs2romnuke yet? @hawkerpaul also has a very good kernel wipe, much better than just wiping manually from recovery. You could also try formatting data/cache and dalvik in advanced settings in cwm.
Ok i try this script. Choose nuke?

Android 4.4 : Activate Debugging from Android Studio on a GPS device

Hello,
I am hacking a GPS device on Android 4.4. I install my apk in priv-app, consequently I have full access to the device.
My problem is that I can't debug the device from Android Studio, every time I want to test my app, I flash the firmware.
I am trying to access the device directly from AndroidStudio, I activate 3 settings :
Settings.Secure.putInt(caniGPSApplication.getapplicationContext().getContentResolver(), Settings.Global.ADB_ENABLED, 1);
Settings.Secure.putInt(caniGPSApplication.getapplicationContext().getContentResolver(), Settings.Global.DEVELOPMENT_SETTINGS_ENABLED, 1);
Settings.Secure.putInt(caniGPSApplication.getapplicationContext().getContentResolver(), Settings.Global.INSTALL_NON_MARKET_APPS, 1);
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
The first settings "ADB_ENABLED" allowed me to see the device in AndroidStudio but I can't install the app from AndroidStudio or attach the process (no process is found). When I try to execute/install the apk I have this error :
12/11 18:32:23: Launching 'app' on sgtc G4E.
Installation did not succeed.
The application could not be installed.
List of apks:
[0] 'MYAPK.apk'
Installation failed due to: 'Unknown failure: pkg: /data/local/tmp/MYAPK.apk

Have you some ideas ? Maybe there is an other setting I have to activate ?
I am thinking about something like "Install via USB" option but I did not found how to set it.
Thank you
