I bought my X10 mini pro having android v1.6. I am trying to upgrade to v2.1 have followed the process provided on sony ericsson website, but its not working. Actually i am not getting any error at all
Also there is no Android market application on my miniPro ?? how should i get it?
please write that what you've done until this point? does 1.6 work properly?

did you activate your Google Account on your device,
could be the cause of no market app on it.
Related to your update problem:
did you try to flash with SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service) ?
Seems to be the better choice with our devices
But more informations would be really good to know

if it's a stock system there should be the market application. when you run it for the first time market app opens google account to log in or sign up.

if it wasn't an official upgrade you were right. still, it's a weird situation. at least i haven't heard a case like this.
anyway, aloo89, if you don't have google apps, you can try to flash this package:

Recently bought two Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pros, one for me, one for the wife.
My white one came perfectly fine, my wifes red one on the other hand is missing a few applications. The one we really mind and need is the Android Market application.
Can anyone upload the apk for the Android Market for me? How would I go about downloading it onto her phone?

After couple of updates and resets, my market was completely gone from my Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant. I used attached file and now MARKET is Back. Great job, thanx a lot.

CORRECTION...
Market did start to work, but I guess that because it was made for a different phone with a different needs and reqirements, I wasn't able to install, or even find some apps that are made specificaly for my SGS Vibrant that I had previously. I searched some more and found another Vending.apk (market) here - and now I am back in business.

I Have the same problem,
The first time I turned on the phone, I found the market. So I tried to download the attached file and after installing it I still can not install applications. The Market crashes when download any application.

You can do the following if your device is rooted.
Download root explorer (google it)
Put the vending apk on your sd card .
Then copy it from the sd card to system apps make sure you enable mount to RW.
Then hold on to vending apk and set the permission to
Rw-
R--
R--
Make sure you mount to r/w because somtime it switches back to r/o.
Reboot your device.
If I was you I would use the batch version of tattoo vending apk its more better it allows you to view those apps which are filtered by market because of screen size.

Or you can debrand your mini pro to uk generic code and update to latest firmware it shoould install the market for you.
I had market then I changed my market to tatto version then when I debranded my mini pro to get the latest firmware it reinstalled the original market so I had to re put. The tattoo version again.
If your handset is branded you mite not be able to update it and even if it does update you won't get market.so you will have to debrand to uk generic or any other generic search for debrand x10 mini /pro on x10 mini forum.

Thanks, That installed the market but I get force close when i try to install anything. I read somewhere that the vending file has to be in update.zip format and flashed that way. Is that correct ??

look hers wat u need..z4root,,root explorer and vending.apk
first root it ither the temporary or permanent..i did it wid temporary..den open root explorer and copy vending.apk from ur sd to system app..make sure to mount r/w..den paste it in app folder...long press the apk file and select permissions..and set it like dis

Hi, ever since upgrading the ROM to 2.3.4 one of my most used apps (MMTracker) is no longer available in the market. Everything was fine in 2.3.3 and I have restored it successfully from Ti backup, however it is now several versions old and I would like to update it.
If I log into the market on the PC I can see the app, and it says that it is not compatible with my device. The developer says that it is up to Google to change its compatability, and that there is nothing he can do.
A) How dose this system work? does google test every single app on every single phone running every single version of android? I very much doubt it.
B) More importantly is there any way to fool the market into letting me download it?

Is it possible to fool the android market into thinking the device is running 2.3.3, or even persuade it that the devide is a different one altogether? for example by editing build.prop?

Thanks for the reply but I looked into Market enabler and to quote the application description
'Market-Enabler is an application to fake the phone's location and access markets from other countries'
The problem is not with the location of the phone, the app in question is available in my location it is just that the 'upgrade' ffom 2.3.3 to 2.3.4 has removed it from the market.

Hi guys , i just installed cynogenmod & found that many google apps like market arent working correctly . In my case whenever i try to download any thing from market it says that therewas some problem in downloading & nothing seems to happen. I would really like if someone can help me out . Also , i seem to be missing the multiple delete option and themes in messaging app from Samsung. Any way i can use Samsungs messaging & contact list ?????
the sms theme is not "missing", its how the way its is in cm messaging app. no u cannot use messaging app from samsungs rom, it require its own framework, wont work with cm. use other third party messaging app like gosms, handcent or chompsms. those third party messaging app had theme customization till the very font color, not just bubble color like default samsungs messaging.
btw i cant understand why u guys had that many problem with gapps. for me its working flawlessly.
It's because they don't bother to read. Google apps are already in the rom. Market for example is frozen on first start but defrosted when you connect to the internet.
There is always problem with new market application. Better u switch back to older version. I advice version 2.3.4.
(Version 2.3.4 is for Andriod market version and not Gingerbread 2.3.4.)

Dude didnt you read ... I never said that it aint installed ... Its that even after connecting to internet & trying to download it gives me an error that there is some problem with download ... I tried restarting & connecting to internet 5 times but still same ... I even went on android market without the app ... but still the same error is persisting !

what flashlight app do u use? "tiny flashlight+led" from market works with cm7 kang for me

I would say that happened because you flashed gapps. It's not necessary at all to do that. The market works fine from the original zip.

Kies doesn't support CM.. Next time synchronize contacts with GMail or use some other third party app..

You have to convert kies backup contacts into .vcf format and import it to contacts from SD card.Follow this ...

Idle mode ? WiFi going silly as in takes up a lot of battery ? Sorry , I don't get you :/

I found error as below when use application (foursquare, gowalla and share youtube video) log in to facebook. I use firmware 2.3.4 (S5830DXKPA)
Error on line 7 at column 35: XML parse Entity Ref: Noname
Any one please advise how to fix.

I clearing data in facebook app. And uninstall & reinstall but result is the same. Also do factory data reset but still face the same problem. Or may be this is the hardware problem. I notice when use facebook app GPS will show automatic.

A month ago parse errors already occurred but you could reparse as html, now it's just an error noname or expecting entity. Ask facebook would be more appropriate.

It works, but it's not a nice solution =/
The most probably, it is a problem with Facebook logon API, the Facebook app is terrible for Android.

first thing just try to write something in the title which helps concern people to help you easily....
try to remove the app which you installed latest and after which you faced this problem........

i'm sorry i dont know how i forgot to write a title but any way last thing i installed was cypershot camera which works perfectly and AC!D audio which is also working very good
i'm thinking if some one with xperia p could give me their contacts app , i'm not an expert but i think it could work

Dude, if contacts crashes that means something is causing it, if you dont find the app which is causing it installing the contact app again wont work may be.
you can try clearing data of contacts app..
if it still doesnt work then reflash rom but uncheck wipe data(ur 3rd party apps) in flashtool..but u'll loose root access and ur installed mods...but they can be installed in a few mins..shud nt be a prob i suppose!!
