[Q] Sprint Epic 4G Touch (aka samsung gs2) - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all, now that Sprint has confirmed the release date for their version of this awesome device, I'm wondering if there'll be a separate forum for it, or will this be it?
Any clue? I tried searching for the device on xda site, but it isn't listed yet.

Because it's not even out yet, i would bet there's enough differences with the hardware that international sgs2 roms won't work as it's, and modems defiantly won't

Exactly. That's why I'm thinking a new forum section may get added specifically for it and (maybe) other US variants.

More than likely the roms won't be cross compatable

hmm.... maybe i shouldnt try then.. lol
I'm gonna out on a limb and say no. But ask entropy. I figured there would be a lot more devs on this phone, but it is brand new so...
No dont. They are no the same. They use different radios for one. Do not attempt to do that.
yeah don't it could brick the phone (easy fix if you know what your doing) but this was something that was tried out at the beginning with the first sgs phones all the phones were different so the roms didn't really work and when ported over still caused problems for the phones that the rom wasn't built for. :/

Will not work. Think of it like ths..if you could flash any galaxy s2 ROM on any galaxy s2 sites phone that we would have more than one custom ROM in development of att sgs2 forums...

No one has figured out a "hellraiser" style strategy for the I777 yet.
Don't know if one will be identified... It's more complicated than just swapping a 777 kernel/modem in, I tried earlier today. Haven't had time to review the results, other than I've got a logcat full of errors.
Different size screen, radio, cell technology, and processors. Yeah it might work.

is stock rom ok for international phone on at&t

What should I do to get it on the AT&T network?
I have already purchased the phone and the sim card from AT&T is already on its way here.
I have tried searching but I only find threads on rooting and flash custom roms but I havent found one that states which rom would work for International phone on ATT's network
Any help would be appreciated. Cause I am now worried I bought a $700 paper weight I cant use.

The international one WILL work on at&t, I think the op was kind of misleading.
It seems slim thought you were asking if international roms will work on US S3.
Tbh I thought the same.
Any rom in the development section here will work on your phone. No problem.
Just as long as its the international model, GT-I9300.

My bad. Yeah, it's one of those confusing sentences. If you have I9300 then whatever is in this board will work.

AFAIK the I757 aka 'Sky rocket' has an entirely diff hardware config compared to I9100 hence, installing a software meant for the I9100(international) on ur phone might lead to a hardbrick, u have a dedicated section for the same.please visit there and check

The Skyrocket is the i727, not the i757. But it's still not the i9100.

This phone is made by bell. So I can only flash the ROMs that are only made for this phone? I cannot flash skyrocket ROMs? There are only like 2 ROMs for this phone :9
I've bought an i757 too and im a little decieve at the fact that there is only two Rom available for this built.
Well. I love it anyway. I find it more interresting than the original gs2 an much more cool than the ugly gs3.
And the CM10 Rom is getting better each day. So there still hope.

Your sig says you have an I727. Not an I757.
And I found the thing by typing "I757 ROM" into Google. First result. Really.
no, I'm using i727, but also buy an i757, the google search result is i757M which release by Canada bell, i can't find any rom infornation about the ATT i757 phone.

For all intents and purposes I believe they (the i757 & i757m) are the same phone, but they may use different modem software.

yes, i agreed but the most thing is that i can't find the i757's baseband files. It makes my phone out of work when i flashing the i757m's baseband, and can not bake to the old version andriod.

korean gs3 roms

Are the roms like cm10 and others compatible with the korean gs3 as they have the same hardware?
Apparently most i9300 roms work on the 3g model although you need to flash a different kernel.
Would refer to the korean s3 thread on this forum.

Didnt know one existed!!Thanks!
The guy who first replied to your question's right.. idk why u had to answer: ????'
Go to the Korean s3 thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749214 i am pretty sure that will help you become a flashaholic as i had the korean version of s3: shw-m440s, i used to convert a lot of kernels for that model.
Cheers!

T-Mobile HTC One Development

Hey guys, just have a question regarding development here. Will we be able to flash roms / kernels from the international One? Or will development be tired to this forum?
Wonder if this device may get more development than the s4 which has a locked bootloader and seems hard to unlock.
Sent from my Nexus One using xda app-developers app
It seems that you can flash roms from the international forum but when I tried to flash a kernel from international on the tmobile Rom I ran into issues with call audio. It's not really surprising I guess, flashing random things and all haha
1. How can you make such comments/questions about a phone that's been out less than 2 weeks?
2. The s4 isn't even out for tmo yet.
3. lol

I don't understand why you had to comment when it did not contribute at all to the question. Since both of these devices (international and T-Mo) ARE out, I just wanted to know if ROMs / kernels are cross-flashable.
As far as the Galaxy S 4 bootloader, not all are confirmed locked yet, but at least two carriers are almost confirmed by developers.

Perhaps I misread your post.
The international versions of ROMs appear to flashable on the TMo One. You wont have TMo features though...like wifi calling.
