[Q] Netflix still working? Video out to Pioneer deck? GPS? Other Misc Issues - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

1. I haven't seen anything posted but I could have sworn there was a link somewhere to a modified flash player that allowed netflix to work on the TB?
2. Also is there ANY WAY to get Netflix, Pandora, or ANY application to do video output to any Pioneer deck?
If not, OK, is there a way to use the TB or ANY android phone as a GPS nav with a Pioneer for example? The deck connects to an ipod/iphone directly and allows you to output video from apps including MotionX GPS which works great!
3. Verizon is the FIRST provider I have been with that has had this issue but if you are on the phone with two people and try and end one call it actually kills both calls and SOMETIMES redials the last person you were speaking to. It doesn't always work unforunately. They claim it affects all phones but the iPhone 4 I have I haven't had that issue on. I was on with tech support for over an hour trying to get them to understand the problem, then they acknowledged it was a defect in the phone that was not fixable. THEN they said it was a network limitation with Verizon.
Thanks in advance for any answers.

[Q] Re-directing all sound to Bluetooth

Anyone know if its technically possible to get the sound routed to standard bluetooth 'hands-free' device. I know I've successfully done this on all my past devices with help of 3rd party software. I see several iterations of software for android out right now, but none have worked for me on Atrix.
I know buying a AD2P headset would be the ideal software free workaround. But I've tried a lot of bluetooth hands-free out there, and the one I have now is just so comfortable, I just can't switch to A2DP until it absolutely dies.
I've seen a few people requesting this across other forums, wondering if the Atrix is even accessible programming wise to do this?
thanks
I don't understand your question. I have a bluetooth headset which I play music on, and which auto cuts music for calls, has a mic, you can dial by voice command, etc.
It's hands free like any other bluetooth headset other than the power button, volume buttons, etc.
What exactly are you asking?
I believe OP is requesting any App that can be used to Hear Music on a Mono Bluetooth Headset which do not support A2DP Profile.
Using regular Bluetooth without A2DP profile will allow us to Just make /Receive Calls, not for Music.
I also tried BT Mono, but it didn't worked for Atrix and eager to know any other way we can able to hear music thru regular Bluetooth Headset

SakDroid is correct. Not all bluetooth headsets support the AD2P profile, and some phones won't play music to them for a reason unknown to me. I've had 4 phones with this same bluetooth headset and only one of them natively would play music with it. All others I had to install app to redirect sound...such as the referred to BTmono. So I know it's possible on Android, just wondering if there is something preventing it on the Atrix, or just hasn't been developed yet.
I would gladly pay to get development started on this. Since I would have to pay money for one supporting A2DP, but you know how it is when you have that one that fits/works just perfectly. I've bought a few that do support the profile, but ended up returning them all, as they just weren't comfortable to wear very long.
Btmono worked for me on my samsung epic 4g on froyo....then sprint sent an ota update to their version of gingerbread 2.3.6. it is very phone specific with what your carrier puts out I think because my wife has an stock htc evo running 2.3.5, and my brother has samsung epic touch running 2.3.7 and both of those different phones work fine with it. So what did I do....I found a custom rom that was built off 2.2.1 froyo. I didn't read the full thread so I don't know what exactly what phone this is for. Only option is to get to know everything you can do with you phone, root it and try different roms. Young and old. Also...on the eipc forum we had a discussion about this....they all had the same issues with gb...even the custom roms. Would love for the developers to learn a work around, since is up their ally...but shortly after there was a good leak for ice cream sandwich which I tried and its pretty good...just a bit buggy for me. When all the kniks are work out will be moving onto that and bypassing any gb that is out for the epic. So my advise, again, is just try different stock roms first....just to find out which ones...if any will work. Then you will know what custom one to look for...if you into that sorta thing.

Netflix audio out of sync when using Bluetooth

I am running the desensed honeycomb ROM and have no issues with the audio when using plug in headphones or the devices speakers. But using Bluetooth headphones with Netflix, I get a five to ten second lag on the audio. Is anyone else having this issue? If so, is there a fix. It seems that the tablet is working rarely hard trying to keep up. Maybe its underpowered?

I am also experiencing the same problem, i called netflix to let them know of the issue. I am on a Galaxy Note. you should call them at 1-800-585-7265 so they can be aware of the issue
I think this issue isn't related to Netflix. I experienced the same delay (~3sec.) thru bluetooth on all my Android devices (Liquid E, i9000, xperia play, atrix, ideapad k1)
Try watching a video on the stock video player... I noticed a delay in that too (on the Atrix)
My car bluetooth is really annoying seeing that I press the skip button and have to wait before it actually skips to the next track...
Here are some threads showcasing the same issue:

I haven't had any issues until this device. I have a transformer, galaxy tab 10.1, razr, thunderbolt, incredible, og droid. I thought that perhaps the CPU isnt strong enough. It struggles just trying to play it without Bluetooth. Does this tablet support hardware acceleration?

I've had similar issues with Netflix on a Galaxy 8.9, Galaxy 7.0, and an Acer Iconia A100. The BT headphones I have work great with my iPhone and iPad -- no lag whatsoever. It hasn't been just the Netflix, but virtually all video apps.
When I did pair my BT headphones there were 2 ways to pair it (headset or headphones). After I found that setting, it dropped the lag from about 5 secs down to about 1 second. Still too disconcerting to watch a video though.
The Acer Iconia A100 has been the best so far. It actually played YouTube vids without a lag (the through the app and the browser).
I thought the issue was 3.0/3.1, but Iconia is 3.2. I'm going to see if ICS makes any difference.
(Side Note: I found that at least one of the Galaxy tabs uses the same BT chip as the iPad so that's probably not the culprit.)
its not the CPU or the ROM, or the app and it won't be fixed in ICS. Its a artifact of the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) Bluetooth protocol. It buffers a couple of seconds of audio before it starts transmitting because when it was specd. they intended it only for music playback. Now it is pressed into service for video audio and there is no way to sync the playback. Perhaps more advanced players will arrive on the scene someday and allow for adjusting the timing. something like VLC maybe, but for now, you can't fix it.
To me it only affects crackle and netflix. By the way other devices like galaxy nexus does not have this problem along with other phones. What ever it is it must be our bt drivers of our Notes
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk
The built in codecs "attempt" to compensate for those formats that they support. Since Netflix is propitiatory, that does not work for Netflix, its an application problem.
Hat makes sense. I called netflix and tried to tell them of the issue

By the way your explanation is bunk.bunk.bunk.
I upgraded to ICS and the out of sync is no longer there. Netflix is same exact version. sorry dr. quack. I knew your explanation was fishy

Regardless if his explanation is accurate or not, what's true is that it's a common problem for Bluetooth to lag and not sync the audio with different video applications.
It doesn't just happen on the HTC View, and it doesn't just happen with netflix.
I haven't researched why it happens, nor do I have any suggestions on how to fix it. I just know it's a common issue.
While I'm not sure if DigitalMD's explanation is 100% accurate, I'm inclined to take his word for it. It was the way Bluetooth was designed, and it truly wasn't intended to be used for videos. The reason it might appear more obviously in our devices is due to the use of Bluetooth 3.0? I really have no clue though, but it's a thought!
Its the Bluetooth stack or drivers in our device. what else would it be? After upgrading to ics, all.of the sudden it works. other phones i had didn't have this issues before.

That's probably exactly what it is. Other devices may have drivers or software that can compensate for the lag. I have had the problem on other devices but not *every* device. I'll actually be able to test my thunderbolt tonight to see if it has the same issue just because I'm curious
EDIT: yup, lag exists on thunderbolt too

From what I have gathered he is correct about the problem being in the BT stack. Even if he is wrong there is not reason to attack him and be so insulting. That makes you way more wrong than he may be.
Here are my own experiences with Android and Bluetooth audio.
Some video material itself has an inherent lip-sync issue that will show up no matter what you play it back with, so you have to rule that out. However, there is also a known lip-sync delay bug with the Android Netflix client and Bluetooth audio devices. I have tried the following Android devices:
Samsung Galaxy S4 (Android 4.4.2)
Nexus 7 2013 (rev2) (Android 5.0.2)
Hisense Sero 7 Pro (Android 4.2.1)
with the following Bluetooth audio devices:
Monoprice 11947 On-The-Ear Headphones
Monoprice 10585 Premium On-The-Ear Headphones
Creative D80 Portable Speaker
There is a significant lip-sync delay (anywhere from 1/4s to 1/2s) with the Android Netflix client with all combinations of these that I have tried. With these same Android devices and Bluetooth audio devices, the following apps play back perfectly with no lip-sync issues:
Amazon Video
Hulu
TiVo Roamio Streaming
YouTube
Native Android video player
Other Android apps (games, etc.)
The only combination with a lip-sync delay is the Android Netflix client with a Bluetooth audio device. Wired headphones are fine. I also tried the iPhone Netflix app with the Bluetooth audio devices and that plays back fine, so this is a problem only with their Android client.
Bluetooth itself has a 3ms latency; the delay is not a Bluetooth problem. In games with sound effects, they happen immediately through Bluetooth audio.
I called into the Netflix customer service department so many times. Every time, the same script - clear the app cache, restart the Android device, charge the battery in the Bluetooth device, power-cycle the router and cablemodem, unpair and repair the devices, etc. Some customer service reps told me it was normal Bluetooth behavior (it is not - the latency is 3ms), most told me it was the Bluetooth interfering with the Wifi connection (wat?). I repeatedly explained my testing results (long) and how it entirely points to a software issue. After many calls, I begged the rep to contact the next-level support to report this as a bug, and finally got confirmation that their Android client "has some issues" with Bluetooth audio, but no mention of a fix.
So there you have it. Call into Netflix customer support, repeatedly! Maybe we can get them to fix the problem.

Bluetooth audio in car to phone not working

So, I'm having a strange issue with my new Note that I can't quite determine where the root cause may be, or if it's a known issue.
If I register my Note with my car as both a phone and an audio device (how the Infiniti nav/stereo works) I can use the Note as a phone fine UNLESS I start an audio app, such as Pandora. Once a2dp audio starts the Note will no longer connect as a phone device, but it works fine for audio.
I had the phone paired with the stock ATT rom but only used it as a phone, so unfortunately, without a restore to stock, I can't tell if the problem exists with the stock rom.
I flashed to flappjaxxx's rom (which I love) the same day I setup the phone to run Pandora via Bluetooth and that's when I started seeing the problem.
I also see some random connect/reconnects that seem a bit more than usual.
So, I can't say there's a correlation, or if this is a known ICS beta issue or what, but I'm hoping it is and that it's not a design flaw
Way I see it it's either:
1. Flashing to any ICS beta rom has the problem, currently?
2. It's in flappjaxxx's build (doubtful)
3. It's user error...(possible )
4. It's an app issue (ie. Pandora is causing the problem?)
Anyone have any thoughts, suggestions or insights? I've done some searching but haven't found this exact issue yet on any posts.
Thanks!
I have a Kenwood DNX9960 in my Avalanche. It connects also for phone and for streaming media. I can be streaming media from either the stock music player or an internet site like pandora or TuneIn and my calls will automatically come through. When the call ends it goes right back to streaming.
It autoconnects to both as long as my phone is in range when I turn on the kenwood. I did have an issue at first where it would not autoconnect. I deleted the pairing from both my phone and headunit. Then when I repaired I paid close attention to check any boxes to "Always" allow connection and I haven't had any issues since.
I understand the normal pairing process, I've had several phones before that worked fine prior to the Note. So, I'm thinking that it is probably a corrupt bluetooth db... I'm going to be reflashing to Flaps new rom and we'll see how that does
Is there a way to delete the pairing from the nav? I would try that
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
There is. I've tried it all, on both sides of the pairing.
I've reflashed the phone to the B6 from FJ, still no joy. The pairing db was new (so no chance of corruption on the phone) and the pairing deleted on the device.
It seems to be a problem with the phone switching between a2dp and phone bt. When a call comes in (while playing say Pandora over bt) the audio cuts out and then the car shows "disconnected" and then "connection failed" if trying to reconnect to the Note as a phone (ie hitting the phone button in the car).
I'm hoping it's the current ICS build. Just have no way to really know. Hoping some other folks will have seen the same issue.
Going to run some tests with different audio sources and see if the behavior is the same.
Well things seem to be working now, for no obvious reason I'll have to assume that the reflash resolved the issue, I just can't tell for sure why it didn't work immediately after. I think it's due to deleting the old pairing on the car and not shutting down the vehicle.
Cheers.
BT connections
I have similar problem connecting to van audio system (vauxhall). After some experimentation it appears to be an ICS problem, if I reflash my note with gingerbread I have seamless connections for both audio and phone. As soon as I upgrade even with offical ICS bluetooth connections become problematic, I can pair but not autoconnect. Tried samsung and they just "fob off" with it's an incompatable device. Until a bug fix is issued it appears as though it's a choic of staying with gingerbread and have a working system or ICS and no handsfree.

[Q] Tiny Cam Monitor Pro issues

Is anyone using Tiny Cam Monitor Pro with Foscam FI8910W wireless IP cams? I use these as baby monitor cams, and i am having an issue with audio lag. The longer I have the monitor on with sound enabled, the audio gets delayed longer and longer. After about 8 hrs, the lag is something like 7-10 seconds. Video is still live, but audio lags. I have this issue on two different tablets. Also tried using the cameras IP address directly as well as the "house" IP address.
I've emailed the dev a few weeks ago, but have not received a reply.
Thanks
Old thread, I know. I wanted to post up and say that I'm having the exact same issues with another device. I don't thing it's the Galaxy itself, but maybe the way TinyCam or Android handle the incoming audio data. I'm wondering if there is something in Tasker that can be used to empty an audio cache every half hour or so to keep the audio a little closer to the actual video feed. Any other insight anyone?

I did finally get a reply back from the dev 3-4 months after my last post. He was able to duplicate the issue and he said it was an issue with the Foscam cameras. He said he would try and tweak something to get it to work. I have not seen any updates that addressed the issue. All that needs to happen to get the audio back in sync is to toggle the speaker icon. I;m not familiar with Tasker, but that is all that needs to be done as a work around.

No Metadata sent to receiver

Hello all, just a couple of thing that I'm having problems with and thought you guys may be able to help. I have a Sony XAV-712HD receiver in my car and use the Xperia Z3v with it and I get no song info from any app via Bluetooth connection. I tried my wife's Galaxy S4 and my friends Note 4 and both put song info up on the display immediately. Also anyone using MirrorLink, I have low sound quality and can't adjust the volume on the phone while in Mirrorlink. I know it says Bluetooth is not supported when using ML but if I use audio through the cable it only plays through my front speakers. Anything you guys can help with would be great! Thanks in advance!
So I can better help you, which music apps do you use? For example I use Google's Play Music. On a side note, have you checked Bluetooth settings while you are connected or trying too connect to see what's going on?
I just posted a reply but don't know where it went... LOL Anyway, I have checked BT settings on both devices connected and not. I use Spotify, Amazon, Walkman with music on sd card, and iHeart. I have factory reset both devices and still no go. I really wanted to like this device but the lack of data while on a call just doesn't work with my career and my boss ordered me a Note 4 that will be here in the morning. If you don't have time to mess with it don't worry about it. Just kind of wondering if anyone else was having an issue.
That's weird... Sorry I couldn't help you. Hopefully that issue works out for you. The data and call feature should be fixed along with xlte with the lollipop update which should be soon. Which could be this month or next month.
Not a problem man. Thanks for trying to help! I was told by the rep at the end of last year it would be a couple of months but it has recently become a real issue. Thanks again!
My poineer unit receives song data from every app I've tried. Walkman, Spotify(What I use most), Google play, pandora.. etc.
However, my girlfriends G3 doesn't show anything when playing via her phone.
