[Q] changing dpi - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there some way i can fake my dpi for the purposes of the market. My phone's default is 240, but I like my dpi set to 190 as that complements my screen size really well ... however, when market looks at that, it assumes I have a tablet and removes most apps etc ... is there a way I can fake my dpi to 240 (it doesn't need to change it to 240, just make the market think it is 240) without having to manually change it to 240 and restarting the phone?

dunno if this will work for u

LCD Density

Hi, I would like to know if it's possible to change the LCD Density but without shrinking apps or dialer ect...
Because the original density 240 is a bit too big for me, I found out that 200 would be a very good compromise but when it is set to 200 my dialer shrinks and other apps like for example Besttube shrinks also.
So basically I'd like the overall to be 200 (The system actually meanings the drawer ect... ) but apps and co to stay 240 ( or to be 200 but without shrinking ).
I've been searching and I saw some people were using 180 density ect... but it is according to me not worth it when some apps shrink...

Paranoid Android & Navigon

Can any dev explain the phenomena that I experience with Navigon when altering the Interface DPI with Paranoid Android? Not that they have to, I'm just curious.
If I set the DPI lower than 320, Navigon blows the interface up to freakish levels. Setting Navigon's per-app DPI back to 320 only makes it worse.
To get Navigon to display properly (and like stock 320 DPI), I have to set it to 160 DPI. With the XPosed framework, I can set the DPI back to 320 to remove the graphical glitch and set the app to view as it was before I changed the UI's DPI.
If I want the interface shrunk to match the rest of my UI, which I have at 190 DPI, I have to manually edit to properties.conf file to set the DPI to 100.
If no one can answer, hopefully this will help others who might have experienced this with other apps.

Phone.apk DPI crash, tried everything EXPERT NEEDED

as the title goes, I am using a No.1 N3 and I'm really enjoying it so far with a 320 to 240 DPI downscale. Everything seemed to work perfectly, but then I tried to make a call and... surprise! contacts doesn't work
I found out it's a DPI problem (with 320 everything works) so I used Xposed module "APP SETTINGS" to set contacts DPI to 320 and it worked.
Too bad that I still can't make a call because phone.apk won't launch at 240 DPI
I set that too to 320 via the module but no luck this time. What can I do? I really need 240 DPI it makes the phone so much better!

[Q] How To Resize Framework Of 320 x 480 Rom To 240 x 320 ?

Hey I Have Ported A Rom to My Device Having Rosolution of 240 x 320 But Now ported rom's app drawer not fitting to screen and lock screen not at center .
i there is any way to fix it ?
try increasing or decreasing the DPI just add ro.sf.lcd_density= (watever dpi you want) check you stock ppi just third party apps like cpuz or anythings reliable
in your case your case you wanna reduce the size of the app drawer try decreasing the DPI value from stock so lets say if you have a dpi of 200 at stock get it down to 180 dpi or still big then 160 dpi reduce it till you think the app drawer fits your screen perfect you will have problems with the dialer just ask for help about it even i could not figure out how to resize the dialer

changing dpi - has already somebody done this?

Now that we have root and kernel adiutor, we might be able to change the dpi to the screen dpi with it.
Has already someone changed this?
According to the dpi calculator:
https://www.sven.de/dpi/
We should have ~197 dpi, but there is 280 in the build.prop
Actually how many dpi does our watch have?
I set the calculator above to 2.3 so the result reads 1,63x1,63 display.
But other calculators are different...
Change it for whole android is not perfect. Try instead the Xposed module app settings to change dpi for specific apps.
