[Q] Green glow on screen - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
When I look straight to the screen of the S2 it looks ok
When I look over the screen when I hold it 20 degrees backwards it has a green glow over the screen
Is this normal or is there a problem with the screen?

Yes it is a question .

[Q] Touchscreen reaction

I have noticed that sometimes when my finger is about 1-2mm away from the toucscreen it suddenly reacts. Reactions that i noticed now is on the capacitive buttons, the four button down.
This is some kind of fingerless touchscreen , am I lonely about this behavior?
I get the same, screen and buttons can react without touching them.

I noticed it too when I first received the phone. I still 'press' the search button while using the phone right hand

Okey, then I'm not alone about it.

[Q] going negative why should it be bad?

I've looked everywhere i can think of for an app that will turn adobe reader or the the phone's screen in general negative to reduce battery usage while reading. any suggestions?
I use Moon+ Reader.
It lets you slide your finger down the left side of the screen to increase/reduce brightness.. and when you toggle Night Mode (black bg) and slide down past 0% it turns negative. Or what I call night vision...

Depends on your phone. If it is not rooted than probably no. If it is, lots of roms have screen filters in them (cyanogenmod being the main) .
If your phone has any kind of screen other than OLED, the only thing that saves battery is reducing brightness. LCD screens use the same amount of power to render black as they do white.
OLED screens use only 20% of the power rendering pure black as they do rendering pure white.

AMOLED pixel dying in area of android status bar

I was just wondering, if there was anyone already noticing the pixels dying on their display.
I noticed it first in the market. With grey background it's visible the most. The area of the status bar seems to be the first to go bad, because it's black almost all the time.
I am using the S2 since ... maybe April, or May (not even one full year), and I can see the screen go down the drain already... very poor quality!
i have use my s2g more than one year and does not have this problem... maybe your luck is not good... send back for warranty..
Did you test the screen?
i tested it last month and not found any problem...
Questions like this should be in Q&A
But I will answer anyway...
Yes...it is a known problem of AMOLED screen...it somehow "memorises" the colour which it is always on (e.g. The black colour of status bar)...i had this issue and went for a change of screen (mine was second hand but still under one year)...to reduce this effect, it is advisable for you to use the screen at a lower brightness...

Totally sorry, for the misposting. Wasn't sure, if G questions should go into non G forum at all.
But thanks for the info, and for moving my post.
I think I will start by going to my provider and tell him, that this is an AMOLED problem. Let's see, what they will say.
Thanks,
JR!
There is actually a Q&A section in the I9100G section......and lol...I am not a mod...

Take it apart and try again, make sure the connections are completely home and try testing before you reassemble.
Also, questions go in Q&A section to reduce clutter here.
