Making an Orange theme.... 1st, I edited about 20 .9png files. 2nd, I recompiled and all was well. Heres where I dont know why I did what I did... I deleted the new framework (probably thinking it was the old one) and then, emptied my recycle bin (which I never do). All gone....lol doh!
Caught back up now so I should be ok.

Also.. if there is anything orange or silver.. ignore it. Im basically running a mixture of 3 themes right now because IM too lazy to re install Eclipse fresh...lol
If you do see orange text, just envision it as whatever color text is now on Red Ice Cream.
OK, test 1 took but the buttons were stock. Thinking I am getting an overlay. Fixed what I think is the issue and installing it now.
By the way, I was right, the tabs are orange. They will be red on yours. they are pulling from the framework and I have my orange theme on my phone.
test 2.. took away the colors for pressing on buttons but I know where to go now. give me a few more minutes to do a little testing.
Installing test 3 now.
Still trying to get it to look like I want it to.. the buttons I mean. Everything else took. In call screen is pretty nice! (Just got a phone call)

New thread for all my splashes.
I took the default wm 6.1 welcomehead splash and loaded it up into CS3 and made a nice blue splash. Matches very nicely with Verizon xv6800's external color, as well as people who use a Vista-like bluish theme (I use poorlyduck's). Even if you don't use a blue theme, it still looks very nice.

Yeah I'm talking about a blue vista-like theme like poorlyduck's vista suite which I use. I know a lot of people have been asking about a blue welcomehead splash in other forums on xda, and so far none exist for wm 6.1 (plenty for wm 5 and 6), so I figured I'd play around for a while and make one.

Yeah I like it a lot. Even though my theme is basically black, the welcomehead only shows itself when you boot up anyway. So I dont see it as clashing with the rest of my theme. I really like this welcomehead. Much nicer than the green one. Thanks

Hey, thanks! this looks nice and works well.
I liked a couple of the other 'vista' style welcome splashes i've seen, but they never seemed to boot right (would always ask me to go into safe mode)....
If you guys want any other colors...just let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Nickles, did you just save these images and then put them on your phone? If so, that's why you're having problems. These images are in jpeg format and the welcomehead splash needs to be in png format. If you loaded them up in an editor and re saved them as png, then loaded them to your \Windows directory I think you'd be in good shape. Though, I think mine is better hehe

Nice work, but honestly I don't see what all the hoopla about the boot screen is anyway... thanks to dcd's work on this incredibly stable ROM I don't have to reboot that often and only see my splash screen about once a month
lol...no hoopla...some people just like to make their phone look "cool" after they make it run "cool" with a custom rom.

Sorry, never really got the hang of the sound and didn't want to put the effort into it. I use a YouTube downloader, AVS Video converter, and Renamer to do most of the work for me. After that, it's just a matter of finding which frames will look the best and bundling it up into a zip file with the desc.txt. If you need more detailed instructions, just PM me so we don't fill the thread with questions. Glad you like it though!
Could anyone make a boot animation of the Halo 1 loading screen, just sped up? That would be sick.
Picky picky Give me a link to a video from like Youtube, Google Video, Metacafe, etc and maybe I will work on it Wednesday if no one else gets to it. Finding the right video that I think will look good usually takes me the longest of any part of making it.

Oh, sorry, thought you wanted that thrown in. All you need to do at this stage, is unzip the file, put whatever picture that you want the last frame to be (this will "loop" until the phone finishes booting) in folder part1 instead and rename it to boot_00XXX with the XXX standing for one more than whatever the last one in the folder part0 is. I don't remember off the top of my head. I hope that makes sense. So if there are 350 pics in the part0 folder, the last one will say boot_00350 so then you would make YOUR pic in folder part1 say boot_00351. Then rezip with No (or Store, depending on your zip program) Compression and then you're golden.
I've got the Halo Reach version that was ported to the EVO 4G for the Hero if you're interested. Sound and animation match up pretty well but scaled down to run at 240 by 320 @ 40 fps. Message me if you're interested otherwise follow thread here by Crackanug and Tiffany84:

I'm looking mainly at the icon's I don't want a ridiculous launcher like on the bottom right picture. I can change my own background. Something more subtle than the ugly Tron themes I've seen for Android. I'm thinking Samcrow's theme with a more cyan light blue tinge to it.
The key is more black than cyan to really make it. I don't understand how some of the themes everything is cyan, it isn't even close to resembling the movie. All the suits are mostly black with cyan or red accents. I'm thinking a red version and a cyan version.
Again this is a request with my opinion in it and hopefully it didn't come across to pushy or obnoxious.

I sent him a pm cause I would really like to see him make a cyan version of his theme cause I think it would look great.
Here are some of the icons in that orange color.
If I was an artist or knew how to do this pretty well I might put on a glowing effect around all the icons.

Uhh, That's the $hit!!
I'm working on notifications now, here's what I have so far. These are modified from Masters Axura rom. The drop down toggles are a direct transplant from the Axura rom as they already fit the scheme very well.

Both, and ya I stopped around 3am last night cause I had a meeting at 11am this morning one set of keyboards is enough lawl. Once I get the first one done I should be able to go in and change the colors a lot faster. I'm not very happy with my level of perfection so far but I'll have to see how it looks on the phone before I say ok this is good.

Ya, I had thought about making that one with blue for the "shift" letters, but never got around to revising it. Might actually be kind cool to do the main letters in blue and the shift letters in orange. I still have the original paintshop layered images somewhere I think....
Oh and I'm not sure if you've looked into it yet or not, but the "EN", "SYM", "ABC", etc. buttons will require some xml editing to get the color you're looking for. I can't remember which off hand, but I can look into it again if you need.

Well, you can open an xml in notepad (although I prefer notepad++), but you have to decompile the apk first.
I use notepad ++, I read in the theming tutorial that it adds 0's or something and it messes with the code.
I'll pick your brain some more when I'm in front of my computer.

Not my thing, back to cool blue for now. This theme is nice, but I don't like the boxed in notification icons (matter of personal taste). Thanks for porting all these themes though!

not even going to get into it. you got your credit for doing a port of someone else's (DINIK) icons to android and selling it. happy?
and fyi, cm7 and atrix are in no way alike so i did just as much renaming, decompiling/compiling, resizing, and customizations as you.

and no, he posted a link to dinik's original anastasia. not to my theme. there is a lot more in this theme than dinik's icon.

no--it isn't a port. i used his template. every single icon is otherwise put together by me. i gave credit. really. how hard is it to give credit? i am happy you enjoyed my work. next time, really, a simple pm and a link is all i ask. but judging by your attitude you won't. i just don't get people sometimes...

right - but you didn't make the icons, did you?. you didn't resize, shade, color them, come up with the color scheme, make things consistent, did you? really, next time a simple pm and you would have had my support, advertisement and original files. but you chose this way/ this attitude. i just don't get why the pushback.

those do look great, and today is one of the few days I happened to be live and at the computer when you posted your request. The images are rotated the wrong way, not a big deal but they are the wrong size too. 274 x 116 px is what I need and I can fit it into the stretchable png along the guide lines and make it match the text. When i took the images you gave me and made them the correct size the look stretched, add android stretching them for different size messages and it's going to look bad. I'm happy to do this for you, but if you could send me the correct sizes I wouldn't have to make these from scratch.

Thats the only images I have. I got those from an MIUI theme. They look great on it.
Unless you can make these work. They will probably have to be ran through draw9patch to work. Not sure.
Sorry, just read your post again. Those are no where near the size you need. i will see what I can come up with real quick if you can patch them. I'm at work and dont have a lot to work with.

I played with it in Paint.net and this is all I can get it to do right now. Needs some work before it will look right.

been working with the requested images plus some images I created for another request and apktool is giving me hell recompiling with custom images, I can change their images all day and no problem. Add my own instead of their and errors like hell.... anyone in the know might know what step i'm missing before rebuilding with custom images that would cause an error? Here's all the images I'm working with now with guidelines.

tried a different method for compiling them images and got the iphone bubbles to work. I got a few more hours until my database class tonight, so I'm going to look into the other request as well.
