[MOD] Disable Browser reflow permanently - HTC EVO 3D

OK guys, if you're like me, you don't like how the screen jumps all over the place after you pinch to zoom. Before, you could disable it only temporarily by typing about:debug and Enable GEP Zoom, however it would reenable itself after browser restart.
My mod makes it permanent no reflow for pinch to zoom, but you can still reflow if you want by double tapping after zoom. The mod took some time and left me sleepless so no flashable zip file, sorry about that. Before installing, I recommend a full nandroid backup in case anything goes wrong. Then, Just delete Browser.apk and Browser.odex from /system/app folder and put attached Browser.apk instead. You can change the permission to 644 if you want.
Please hit thanks button if you like it. Have fun.

Thanx for sharing dood.... Will give this a try m8.

Dude, will this work for the Sensation as well?
Cheers,
zuka

I don't have a Sensation so I can't be sure. Just move your Browser.apk and Browser.odex under /system/app folder to your SD card then copy back this file and try. The worst case is the browser won't work and you go back to your original.(It shouldn't cause boot crashing etc) Don't forget to report back the progress if you try it

Removing sense 3.0 lockscreen shortcuts?

I've searched xda and couldn't find anything and I don't know if this is the right area for this, but Is it possible to remove the shortcuts from the sense 3.0 lockscreen? I like the lockscreen because it takes up so little space but the shortcuts can be an eye sore imo. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

These are the reason why I don't like the new sense lock screen, those shortcuts are horrendous.
I did some more searching and found an apk for it. I can't post links yet I don't think but search the thread title basically. Install with root explorer change permissions and reboot. Looks good!

Still getting the empty bubbles, though..
If you can hold out a bit longer, it appears Sense 3.5 has the option to disable the shortcuts on the lock screen.
If you want to check it out, search Bamf soab. (port of Bliss with sense 3.5)
I got it!
- Extract Idlescreen_Base.apk from /System/App
- Open the file in m10editor.exe
- decompile Lockscreen_shortcut.m10
- in the editor tab expand the last item and you'll see Lockscreen_Shortcut, highlight it and under Known Properties set parameter Visible = 0.
- save the file
- sign the .apk and put it somewhere on your SD-card
Open /system/app with Root Explorer or ES File Explorer, delete the Idlescreen_base.apk
Install YOUR Idlescreen_base.apk with your file explorer and restart your phone.
Voila!
(Creds to dased14 here )
EDIT: Guess you could bake it in your ROM-file and flash the ROM..Never tried it though..
EDIT2: You may have to copy your modded .apk to /system/app after you've installed it.

Gallery3d APK - Install | Hide folders [HowTo]

TL;DR:
Recently I have been working to get my homescreens a little cleaner. I started using a tool called DesktopVisualizer. It allows for "Tiles" or "Icons" to be placed as shortcuts instead of the icons you normally use. It allows for a cleaned up WP7 look. The one major drawback is you have to download "tile packs" or make them yourself. The app is great, but the problem is in our gallery app.
OUR STOCK GALLERY SCANS AND LOADS ALL THE 300+ TILES/ICONS IN TO MY GALLERY! I could not stand this! I started looking into how to hide stuff from the media gallery.
Hiding Folders: "." Folders and ".nomedia" Files:
Turns out they built a neat function into android that allows for hiding things from the gallery: a .nomedia file. Placing a blank file with that name into a directory (or root directory) causes the STOCK GALLERY to skip over the folder. So, if you are like me and have some naughty pics of your g/f, ALBUM COVERS, or other misc pics you dont want to see in the gallery; drop that little file in there and it will skip it.
Another way to accomplish this is to stick a . in front of the folder name. If you have a folder called "Pr0n" change it to ".Pr0n". This will do the same thing as the nomedia, however some apps/file explorers cannot see these guys as this is the "hidden attribute" for the folder.
The problem with the Atrix, and other devices that have custom galleries, is they scan EVERYTHING. You can place nomedia files in, periods, anything, they still come parading in to the gallery. "What the hell can I do", you ask? Well, we put in a nice new gallery.
Gallery3d.APK:
Ok, so I have attached the AOSP type of gallery from CM7. I think I "heard" some place that the CM7 gallery is tweaked a little, however I didnt notice any differences. So, download and install as normal, sideload it, whatever. Once its on, you are good to go. The only problem, if you freeze the 2.3.4 gallery from Moto, the camera app wont pull your pics. Everything in the cam still works as far as functionality to take pics. The problem is when/if you click on the small pic in the corner of the view finder(your gallery), it will give some error about "No gallery installed". I'm sure there is a way around this, but for now I just have both installed and use only the 3D gallery. Using LauncherPro I hid the other icon to keep "phone handlers" from going through my UBER gallery when they pick up my phone to play with it. This way I get the nice gallery3d, but still get the full sharing functionality of the moto gallery should I want to share straight from my camera.
There you have it. I have given you the the gallery apk, pros and cons, and how to hide folders. Knock yourselves out. OH! If you happen to get the cam to work with the 3D instead 2.3.4, please post a how to in here as well.
Thank you so much i have been wanting this on my atrix i hate the new galery in moto
Also check out Gallery Excluder in the Market for hiding folders with this method.

CRT Restart, Power Down, Animation Modification

I had this on my T-Bolt and I missed it. I had to make it 720 to fit our phones. I added a few extra frames since it renders faster now. This is the CRT shutdown animation upon restart or reboot, aka shutdown. This replaces the white and green HTC shut down screen. The download link file is named correctly (hTC_downanimation) for stock locations to replace the current in system/customize/resource. Your location and file name may vary pending your Rom. Make sure permissions are marked correctly. Backup or rename your current file so you can restore. If you wish to use in your rom or reduce file size please give thanks for my initial work. The screen shots are example not sequence shots. Use root explorer to replace the file.

Haha, that was pretty cool. Had to rename mine because it was simply downanimation.zip in the first place. Nice job though
I'm unable to get this working, sadly. I set permissions correctly and the filename is exactly the same as the original but I can't seem to get the effect to work at all. Any other suggestions?
EDIT: Would it be because I used root browser instead of your suggested program?
File explorer program won't make a difference. Did you rename the original one or try to copy over it?

Works nicely! Thanks nerd!
Worked perfectly for me too! Thank you

Worked perfectly for me with Root Browser. Anyone who's having problems should double-check to make sure they have the new file named correctly.

Missing Photo Editor Icon

I seem to be missing the stock photo editor icon and the ability to use it. On my phone I cannot locate the icon. However, when I go into setting, applications, manage applications, all, the icon is there. When I click on it, it is basically blacked out from me doing anything. See photo. I am rooted on stock ROM, but it was never there for my use. Any idea what is up? If for some reason I cannot use the application, can I re-install it? Is there a better application you recommend for simple photo editing?
when you select a photo in the gallery then select more and select edit you will then be using photo editor, for some reason it's not in the app drawer though.
On my Galaxy S2 it was in the application drawer. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something.

Missing apps?
I was editing a photo, then had to look at something else on the phone and moved from the editor display. It doesn't show holding home as last used app.
Can you continue editing/reedit a photo once saved?
Also it seems we are missing the video editor. I looked at a few video reviews, it seem the international note has these icons in the app drawer, but we don't..

I just figured out today that the att version does not have all of this great software we have been led to believe it does. I still love the phone but I'm a little pissed about it and I am looking for ways to strike back.
When you've on a photo, click menu> share>photo editor.
Took me a while to figure it out. Sometimes it doesn't show when you're looking at a photo from the gallery, but when you click the view finder from the camera, it works all the time.

How do you get back to the photo editor to continue editing a photo you were working on?

If you saved it, then it created a copy of the edited photo on your SD Card and you can get to it through the Gallery. It would have created a folder called PhotoEditor or Edited or something.

Thanks, I knew about that one. But what if I haven't saved yet and it's still being edited but I hit the home button or answered a call during the edit? How do I get back to the current picture?
What I did was snap the same picture again to edit, it then took me back to the one I was editing, saved it and replaced it with the new snap. But I couldn't normally get back to the app and I could not continue editing the one I was already working on... lol... sigh
You know you hold home key and it lists the last apps, multi task to switch back? It doesn't show photo editor, but you can go into the task manager and it shows it's running, but you can't click/touch to bring it up.
Gotcha...I have no idea then. Sorry I can't help you more.

[REQUEST] Scrolling homescreen on stock 4.2.2 GT-I9195 launcher

I tried myself but always get errors when recompiling apk. Basically, this will work simply by decompiling SecLauncher3.apk, edit Bools.Xml in "values" folder
<bool name="config_fixedWallpaperOffset">true</bool>
to
<bool name="config_fixedWallpaperOffset">false</bool>
and recompiling the apk.
I'm on 4.2.2. Xposed module for enable scrolling homescreen does not work. Can someone edit the launcher for our gt-i9195??
nvm, I did it after an extra bit of trial&error.
I attached the modded launcher if someone needs it. Some things:
_obviously, this apk won't install like regular apks! Move it to system/app
_backup original seclauncher3.apk just in case. Oh, backup with titanium data of tw home too
_modded apk is smaller than stock one. Don't worry IT'S FINE
_don't worry about bootloops, if something goes wrong your phone will reboot in touchwiz easy home (assuming you've not deleted it)
_fix permissions of seclauncher3.apk after everything is done (rw- r-- r--), even if I don't think it's that important
_scrolling from the very left to the very right homescreen with one swipe to the left looks weird, don't know why. Maybe this feature was just meant to be off. However, if you turn off infinite scrolling, problem will stay hidden (very simple to turn that feature off, do a little search)
enjoy
