[Solved] stuck half way trying to root and now phone is stuck at SE logo - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was following the exact step-by-step guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196808
and after I flashed the kernel downgrade, unplugged USB, power up the phone and immediately plug in after the vibrate, I never got the message in the next step that says "Connected Device: X10", and the "Root" button on the flash tool never became available.
Now my phone is permanently stuck at the "Sony Ericsson" black screen, it won't even turn off. I checked device manager and there are 2 hardware without any drivers. one of them says "Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus", and the other says "SM bus controller". Does this have anything to do with my problem?
I'm running Win XP SP3, I tried to let it automatically search for drivers but it didn't find anything. I went to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193066
and downloaded those drivers, but have no idea how to use them. Tried to use device manager to look for drivers in the downloaded folder and it doesn't recognize anything.
What now? At this point I don't care if I can still root my x10 or not, I just want to fix it so I can use it again. I tried PC Companion but it won't even recognize my phone, keeps telling me to enable USB when I can't even get past the SE screen.

You should try flashing a new ftf firmware bundle, then try the steps again.

ok finally fixed... had to use a friend's computer who is running win7 and actually automatically installed the drivers. everything went as explained on the guide... I guess the guide is not win xp friendly then

Help me fix my CM7 soft brick!

The vibrant was running CM7 for a few hours until I noticed that it wouldn't charge via USB. It wouldn't charge from the wall outlet nor when plugged into a computer (the computer did recognize that it existed but didn't have the drivers for it).
I tried to recover it but then the process failed and it was stuck in boot menu. The vibrant only loads to the first splash screen. I can put it into download mode however ODIN doesn't recognize it. Nothing shows up. I've installed the Samsung Vibrant drivers and I've tried Kies Mini however Windows 7 32bit won't recognize the device. How can I install the stock ROM if Odin doesn't recognize it?
if u can get into dl mode but cant get pc to recognize ur phone use aio toolbox or get a usb jig that may help!!
or since your on CM7 ..try the Nexus S drivers and see if it recognizes it.
Could it be that maybe USB Debugging is turned off? At this point there is no way I can boot up to turn it on.
All of the drivers I install end up not being installed correctly, I get errors.

This. You can find them here.
CyanogenMod 7 for Vibrant Q&A
Just press Ctr+F and search ''Nexus S'' and you will find the instructions on how to get them.
I'm having some difficulty. I don't have a phone under my device drivers. All that's showing up is PCI Simple Communications Controller. I click on update driver and direct it to the SDK. Nothing happens.
Edit:
Downloaded the Intel ME: Management Engine Interface driver for the PCI problem. It seems to be fixed. Now my phone is showing up as unknown device. Working on it some more.

SEMC USB Driver won't install

Hello,
i got a little Problem with my X10 (2.3.3 - rooted) and my Notebook (Acer - Win 7 64 bit).
I tried all ways to install the driver to use USB-Debugging but it won't install. The Device-Manager still tells me SEMC USB as unknown
I tried the usual way, start the phone with holding 'back', install the drivers manually...
Are there any other ways to get it working ?
Same goes for me,
Device manager states that the device is unknown, flashtool not working, PC companion no hope (connected to different USB ports including those of the motherboard).
it used to work but no chance now.
it charges normally from the USB (Orange LED) but would not connect to the PC.
Details:
Windows 7 x64
Gigabyte X58A-UD3R
Bootloader Unlocked Xperia X10 with 2.3.3 ROM and Doom's Kernel (the latest one)
The guy here says it is related to either windows windows update or faulty cable

Didn't help...
But installing PC Companion did it
PC Companion install drivers automaticlly, that is the best solution.

Sent from my xperia "z10i"
I tried removing and installing PC Companion but it didn't work either.
Any help guys?
Changing the computer had no effect as well
You must install SEUS ( Sony Ericsson Update Service ). Only SEUS will install right driver. Problem with SEUS is that when you look on SE official site, they tell you that SEUS for X10 no longer persist, and they guide you to PC companion which is crap.
Try this: try to connect your phone with PC, in flash mode. PC will try to install your phone driver but it can't find it. Then in Action Centar, on PC, (a small flag in sys tray, right down corner of a screen) find solution for this problem, and windows will automatically find SEUS over net. Install and enjoy.
from X10i via XDA premium
tried that but no luck as well (even in flash mode SEUS can not detect the device)
Thank you
hello i found a way and it worked for me download flash tool and extract it look for a folder called drivers in there u will find something called ggsetup-2.2.0.10
run this install it and all done
@huzi7868 thank you for your help
However, that didn't succeed and I reinstalled windows and drivers again, but still not working
Even no luck when the phone is in flashmode
Just tried it on a third Computer and checked the cable but the cable is working on another HTC Desire but not on my Xperia X10 (I mean my X10 cable), however they are both charging
try flashtools, there's a folder called 'drivers' in it, open it and click on the installer

I agree, I also have solved in this way.
Download the latest version of Flashtool and after installing it you will find in the "drivers" folder the file "Flashtool-Drivers.exe".
Run it and select the drivers you need. Then connect again your Xperia X10
I really appreciate your help, but I had done that 3 times and on different computers but "USB Device not recognized"
As I sad before, use SEUS to install SEMC USB DRIVER. I have win 7 64bit, and I install driver on it. First, install Update service. When its finished, start Update Service and follow instruction (check "Licence Agree" button, and click next, then pick your phone, X10i I suppose, be carefull there is two X10, One is X10, and other is X10 SO-01b. I pick X10 for myself, and press NEXT. Turn off your phone, press and hold BACK button on phone while connecting with PC via USB. HOLD till you see message to release BACK button. Till then your driver will be installed.
Download SEUS from here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SBDVZ3DG
@Dzufa Thank you, but I had done that before and tried it again, whenever I connect the phone pressing the back button the green LED illuminates and "USB device is not recognized" appears and nothing happen after that, SEUS just behaves like nothing is connected.
Try with this one. And I think you must be online, because SEUS must download some files.
I really did that and of course updated SEUS, as I said green LED illuminates and nothing happens even in flash tool (it used to work for ages but suddenly it stopped, it only charges)
BTW, I had flashed many kernels and ROMs before it happened so I am quite familiar with flashtool and SEUS, I unlocked the bootloader using 9lucas method and it worked after that I installed XSP ROM and the USB worked as well, however after 2 weeks or so, one day I left it connected it to the PC and I found that the phone turned off and refused to power on, I left it for a while in the charger then powered it on and it powered on, then it has refused to connect to the PC through USB since then.

No access to both flashmode and fastboot mode!

Sorry, ive found a similar thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2820018. So the situation:
1. Download PC Companion and pc companion tells me to update.
2. Download finished, and its asking me to hold back key and plug the usb simultaneously.
3. I know im supposed to wait the green led, but it doesnt stay on, it flashes about 0.1 sec then turns off.
4. It then showed SE logo and showed the battery charging.
5. Update Service also not working.
6. Flashtool: Not working.
7. I know that S1Boot driver is installed, because ive flashed a lot of phones over and over again, only this MT15i failed.
8. The phone is definitely UNROOTED and still on LOCKED. And i plan to let it stay that way until its been updated to stock ics .587.
How can i access flashmode / fastboot without pressing those keys?
No, adb not working.
And now, the phone seems stuck at that SE logo. Waiting for half an hour now, no reboot, just that logo.
Ive heard about the need to use OctopusBox, JTAG and the like, but i want to refrain from using them. (Paid service, not sure if it would work at all)

Problem while unlocking bootloader in my Xperia Go

Hi fellas.
This happened when i was unlocking bootloader of my Xperia Go. I installed SDK toolkit, adb drivers & 'android_winusb.inf' (as per the official bootloader guide) and started doing the process ahead. Initially the same problem (as happened with others also) started, the LED turned purple for some seconds then turned orange & went into charging mode (this happened in my laptop at home running windows 8.1, 64bit) then i did the same process with same drivers in my office comp (running windows XP, 32bit) then a prompt came up for installing my phone but installation failed. It asked me to go back and select custom folder, so i browsed to "comp>/C/>program files>android>android SDK>extras>google>usb_driver and clicked next, then it showed two paths with different names but reaching the same target folder viz "usb_driver" and i selected the 2nd one, after which it showed "installation complete". I thought i had resolved the problem but when i connected my phone holding volume Up key, the LED does turn purple (and stays like that all the way) but nothing comes up on computer further..... Can anybody tell what must have gone wrong and how this problem can be sorted out.
This is a kind request to all Modding Gurus PLEASE help me out,, I dont want to get stucked on the Stock ROM forever..:crying::crying:
