UPDATE 15.09.2011
Now Added Virtual Gamepad to the screen by paulscode

I decided to post an official build with the virtual gamepad, so folks can start testing it. I probably won't have time to make any updates or bug-fixes until I get back home (there are a couple known issues, see below)
Test APK (source code)
Test APK 2 (sort-order bug)
IMPORTANT: You will need to update the app data, because several changes were made, mainly to the button masks. If you do not update the app data, you will get weird behavior of random alternate buttons pressing when you are trying to press other buttons! In case anyone isn't familiar with how to do this, the easiest way to update the app data is to delete the folder app-data/paulscode.android.mupen64plus from your SDCard, The emulator's DataDownloader module will then automatically download the new data for you when you start the app.
Known Problems:
The first thing you will notice is that the hat image doesn't move. I purposely disabled this, because the call to "invalidate()", which tells the surface to redraw, was ridiculously slow and having a major hit on performance. I'll need to rethink how to redraw without requiring so much CPU power (possibly some kind of timed "redraw granularity" rather than redrawing on every touch event that involved the analog stick).
The second thing you will notice is that it is really easy to "drop" the analog stick if you slide your finger too far (while running forward, etc). I'll need to implement some type of "stick capture" logic.

fn keys need remap?
Does that mean the func keys don't work?
So there is no way to make #s or symbols with the kybd.
I am using adw so most of the sense stuff does nothing for me but waste cpu cycles, a vanilla or cyanogen would be perfect for my situation, but my big fingers don't lend themselves to using an on screen keyboard but thanks this just may work for me till there is a new release
Bhang
He's just missing a few files for the keyboard mapping. The FN keys still work but they are mapped to another keyboard setup
I'd appreciate the fix or a walk through to do it myself
Here's the keyboard and rotate fixes, playing around with A2SD now but I have a feeling it's out of my league

this rom is awesome but is there anyway to remap the genius key? i tried the guide but it has mapping for keys we dont have and so i dont know wich one to change.
Thank you for posting this! I have been waiting for 2 weeks since I got my slide to be back on 5.0.8 coming from a G1. I have a few questions.
1. There are still a few keys that aren't mapped and I'm sure you are aware of this, home, back, menu, and search from the keyboard, and of course the genius buttin (I'm about to work on these and will report when I'm done mapping)
2. Two things I really liked and found useful with stock Slide and I assume are part of HTC Sense apps are a) the ability to search the company directory from contacts and b) exchange calendar support.
Am I correct in assuming we cannot push these apps through adb because we would need the HTC framework? Thanks
EDIT: I pushed the Calendar and Contacts apps from stock over this and as I predicted, FC City! Thank goodness for Nandroid...

Current working on that, Swype, and A2SD
I'm on #teamslide IRC, I'll try and help any way I can and suggestions are welcome
Thanks for fixing all these issues!
Other issues I've noticed:
* Wi-Fi suddenly became a little flaky and unreliable. I disabled it and enabled it and it was back to normal. Might have just been a fluke.
* Camera button turns the camera on but doesn't take pictures and doesn't lock in the focus.
* When the screen is locked and off, pressing the trackball doesn't light up the screen like it does on the original Slide ROM.

MIUI 1.12.9 Fascinate/Mesmerize Rom UPDATE..12/13/11

This is a build ported from a vibrant setup, some tweaks that dfgas incorporated into the last few builds, some extra tweaks from here and there, and extended settings built in. It is very smooth and fast after letting it settle in for a bit.
Let me know how it is for you. You can wipe data or just cache and dalvik...I do all 3...enjoy.
Thanks to anyone that has a hand in developing for the fascinate / mesmerize...the list would be too long to write!
-as of 1.12.9...
-#911 issue fixed (thanks sbrissen, dfgas, & anyone else involved)
-modified default transparent lockscreen...live wallpapers show through lockscreen
-new 1.12.9 Fascinate link...
http://db.tt/enasc1vs
-new 1.12.9 Mesmerize link...
http://db.tt/LHY0AeKk
-as of 1.11.25...
-includes Glitch V13 kernel with working 3 button recovery (with updated screenstate scaling fix)
-new option of miui app drawer
-pick setup, then enable, wait a couple seconds for drawer to load up, then swipe down from top of screen slightly lower than status bar to pull down drawer (almost right at bottom edge of status bar)...takes a little getting used to swipe area as it is very small.
-new options of hiding signal bars and headset icons
-new option of appdrawer background color
-new "on the fly" statusbar layout switching (no need to refresh statusbar anymore)
-new options of autostarting appdrawer
-charging animation it top bar fixed
Here is a link to the v6 supercharger thread...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18703418&postcount=5021
I would suggest installing the latest supercharger script...http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=792186&d=1322022964 and the app script manager...http://market.android.com/details?id=os.tools.scriptmanager
Download both, change the supercharger scripts name from .pdf to .txt, install script manager, go into script managers options and turn on browse as root, then navigate to the directory you downloaded the supercharger script to within the app, click on it, select run as root, then run. Follow the scripts prompts, and as a suggestion, I use option 7. This makes the phone fly even faster at all times even with many apps open. I would have incorporated this into the rom, but the developer would rather you visit the thread to get it.
Downloading now. Thanks!
First impressions:
(Background: Wiped all three from "mounts and storage" menu)
Appears to be based off of MIUI Android (UK port of MIUI) as opposed to MIUI.US. Not sure what diffferences (if any) apply other than the bootani and background. Amiright?
Extended settings built-in is quite awesome.
Noticed MiuiCompass wasn't in there (but DSP Manager was...awesome again). Attached in case you don't have the apk and want to add it in the future.
MMS sent over 3G on first try.
I am not sure which market you bundled with it, but I always go in and remove marketUpdater and add back in the old vending.apk. (This isn't a criticism, just something I do that might be good to know in case I have future issues that may be caused by that mod...I know I am probably rare in liking the old market.)
So far so good. Now I just need to grow a pair and figure out how to swap kernels in the zipfile so I can throw Glitch v13RC1 in there; at which point I'll truly have my "Flash one-and-done".
Great work, Rick S. Can't wait for the full list of changes/tweaks! Thanks again.
Will this work on the Telus version?

Compass.apk should be in there, but thanks anyway. Basically if porting from a "stock" setup, roms wont differ very much at all, but another difference is that the reboot options are capitalized. I would love to have glitch v13 in there, but its not publically released yet. I do install it on mine though. All you need is the boot.img and the lib/modules folder...modules need to match boot.img that was built.

I wasn't suggesting you put V13 in there. I was just commenting on my own lack of courage to do it myself more than anything. Thanks for the tip though.
Been installing apps and such basically nonstop since install and listening to music on it. No issues. I did update to Glitch v12RC1 right off the bat as well.
So far, this seems to be about as stable as the 9-16 release which has been my fall-back. I've had the fewest issues with that one. Hopefully this one will be my new 9-16. (Will find out when I get home and see how it handles the wifi/3g handoff that seems to have been causing the most problems on the latest few roms for me)

Thank you for the reply. I know there are differences the big one is one cdma and the other is gsm. I did not see the vibrant mention the first time in the OP. if anyone knows of a compatible miui for the Telus version pm me please I would love to try it
Looks great Rick...thanks again. I had issues with the other '11' roms so far and was back on the 10.28. And also big.thanks for the easy instructions for installing super charger....I couldn't get then to stick a month ago....no problems this time ( used your suggestion....will tweak later after I settle in) only issue is google+ fc at start up. I don't use it so not a huge deal.....will uninstall and install new......phone is flying.
Edit: Re-install of Google+ did the trick. Can't believe how fast and smooth this phone is running now.
Thanks for the responses. Im going to update some MIUI mods and put links in the op soon...launcher mod and screen transitions are some.

Sorry about that...my gmail seems to work fine though. I used JT's 3 button recovery fix kernel because its probably the most used throughout various roms. It doesnt have bln. You can flash any kernel you like though and it will work fine as long as the kernels allows for it.

GSM and CDMA roms/kernels aren't cross compatible. The phones share a name, that's it, they're pretty different when you get down to the nuts and bolts (or silicon and copper.)

"Hmmm. I just had huge success flashing jt's 3ButtonFix.zip kernel over the 1.11.4, making big improvements in battery and GPS. But this is an upgrade, using the same kernel, even though my current ROM is working fine. Hmmm..." thinks the flash junkie as he tries to pretend he might not go ahead and flash this anyway.
Edit: Of course I flashed it, with the script. Running great. Overnight, battery stays in high 90s.
All I can say is wow!! This is by far the most responsive miui build I've ever used, running the script on setting seven as suggested running glitch v13 ml OC`d to 1440..very smooth, plus have all the reboot options again nicely done, thanks much sir!

In the past the miui builds I've run while being in my opinion nicer to use have always seemed more sluggish than Vanilla or cm7, not now..

I actually ported the MIUIScotland 1.11.9 ICS framework I9000 rom to the fascinate. It seems the only difference are a couple added files within the framework and a few files elsewhere, along with the version number in the build prop. Its not even worth playing with though. There are no noticeable differences anywhere. Waist of time just in case anyone was wondering or has heard of it.

[HOW-TO] Better GTA 3 Graphics on TouchPad!

Unsure if this has been posted before but by replacing the gta3.set in Android/com.rockstar.gta3 (I think that's correct) you get lights, shadows, blood, better rendering etc. There is no TouchPad specific version that ive seen but this one works. Backup your original just incase.
http://db.tt/CA4uhInX
After you replace it, start up the game and go into controls and move the virtual buttons back to their original positions as they get moved.
Again sorry if double post.
Thanks!
(I take no credit for the modified file)
didn't even know they had GTA for the TP. I'll be looking into this one for sure.
Yep in android market, you may have to tweak build prop for it to show or buy with a different device and side load.

Cool,thanks for the tip.Yay,blood! LOL
yeah it works
Thx love it!, and lags not so much! Seems alright no overclocking
Okay, after testing I had to revert to original .set file. The new .set file was causing my miui.us to crash randomly on it's own. At first I thought it was caused by my tweaking with overclocking, but even after I reversed those changes I would still randomly get booted out of miui. After I reverted the .set file the crashes stopped. Bummer. I really was digging the brighter graphics (and the blood, lol)-although it the game was noticeably more laggy.

[CG ROM][RC2.3][9/21][AOKP][Jelly Bean][HTC VIEW]

I am naming this ROM with my wife's initials CG as a token of appreciation for her support of my work on this project.
Also credit should be given to Chaosz-X, as part of our ROM was based on his work (mainly the vendor config files).
We have moved to RC release which means it's fairly stable and with most functionality supported. But it doesn't mean it's fully working there are still some bugs and some functionality unsupported see below section to see what is not working.
Also remember that this is not a ported rom it's build from scratch with official HTC HC kernel source modified to work with JB AOKP, so it's very stable but the progress is slower since the degree of difficulty is higher. So be patient.

That's because it's build from aokp tree directly, if you have use cm9 or aokp or any other aosp flavor rom, this is how small it usually is. But it doesn't have gapps. so you need to download those separately.
Well, installed, but it doesn't seem to be booting. It just stays at the initial HTC screen. I'll leave it be for a few more minutes, but if it doesn't work, I'll upgrade to Honeycomb and then try flashing it again.

Makes sense. The files for my phone that are built from AOSP are always smaller than the original ROMs, too.

You may not have to install the whole HC, just update the hboot for HC if you have it and try again.

were you able to boot? I am assuming you're on HC already correct?

Already started the process to upgrade to HC. I'll keep that in mind for next time, though, if necessary.
Flashing right now
Edit: Ok so from the few minutes i been playing with this the only bugs i notice are:
Red perimeter around the screen if i remember that has to do with the drivers
A occasional lag with the keyboard
the nav bars look too small but once i went into rom control and changed the nav bar width back to default they looked better
Whenever I long press anything on Trebuchet or Nova the screen rotates and then rotates back real quick not allowing me to move the item or anything
I downloaded and it installed on top of Honeycomb without a problem. This looks very promising!
yncconsulting, are you interested in feedback and bug reports at this time, and is this thread the right place for it?

I saw at first the same issues with the red perimeter and not being able to drag an app to the desktop, but this has fixed itself after installing an app from the Play Store.
EDIT: oops, now the rotate-when-drag-to-desktop effect has reappeared
Thanks for the ROM its working great the only issues I have run into is with the homescreen transitions little laggy. A few forced closes when I use the ROM settings and tried to change the theme. Any chance of getting a Sense 4 integration in the future? Or any Sense for that matter I know that this is huge having a working ICS but I really like having a Sense in there too. Again great job guys.

Wow, sounds great.
I know over on the E4GT you have to be VERY careful about how to flash an AOKP ICS build, what recovery to use, what kernel to use - lest you brick your rig.
Any special precautions here?
** Thanks so much for this! Should I assume that the pen will work everywhere with this rom as it does in HC?

Guys, hate to bust your bubble...but this is an Alpha-release, which means more things don't work than those that do. Please read my original post, this release is for ppl who are curious about ics, want to play around with it.

It doesn't happen for me, wanna share a video of how that works?
Don't need bug report as there are too many and we know it. Unless you have some ideas or suggestions on how to fix the issues.

Okay, on this ROM now.
I've seen a couple of the bugs that the others have seen, but no big deal for me. For the rotating thing, a reboot put it back to normal for me.
The biggest thing I've noticed that actually does matter to me (other than the rotating thing above) is that scrolling can be wonky at times. If I flick too fast, it won't scroll very much, or it will just bounce a little bit where it is. I sometimes have to follow through with the motion all the way for it to smoothly scroll, in any direction. If you need a video of that, just let me know.
You're off to a better than excellent start. Of course there's bugs that need to be worked out, but you've gotten further than anybody else has, so kudos!
Not that we don't want to but this is source from aokp which means its pure google android without any HTC add on.

Here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0T9vUtBDOQ
I'm first long pressing an app icon on the desktop, the screen rotates twice while I keep the finger down.
I then enter the apps menu and try to long press a widget, then swipe over to the apps section and long press an app, both with the same effect.

(app)(profiles) sixaxis controller app

Sixaxis controler app just got updated to work on jb 4.2.
Can some one please share their profiles for Nova 3, Dead Trigger, Asphalt 7 and mass effect infiltrator.
I am having a hard making profiles on the N 10 due to the buttons being too small.
thnx
Could give these a shot. They are for the nexus 7 so I'm not sure if they will actually work.

Let me know if you try them out! I'm curious if they work.

I can't see why they wouldn't work unless the creator changed the format.

The "Dead Trigger" profile I tried definitely did not work...
It seems that any profiles that are just keymaps (ie: controller up = "up" button, controller down = "down" button, etc.) should port fine, but anything that uses the touch profiles (almost every game) will require new profiles due to the larger screen and different resolution. Buttons will end up being in different places on the screen, and the profiles need to match that.
You'll just have to tweak them to the size of the screen. The cool thing about sixaxis is you can just take a screenshot of the game while you're in it and then import that screenshot as the background of the profile while you edit it. It makes creating those profiles super easy.
I'll do a few and upload them later on.
Here are Dead Trigger and Shadowgun to start with since I already had them installed.
12/5 - Added nova 3
12/23 - Fixed/re-upped nova 3

If you can send me a quick screenshot of the in-game HUD showing all the buttons and stuff (power+vol up) I'll build a keymap for them.
I just checked and mass effect is not compatible with n10.
Here is a screenshot for Nova 3
Wow. Didn't know you could emulate touch games. How do you emulate movement on games where the movement road only shows up when you out your thumb on the screen? Like predators for instance?

It turns the analog stick into a simulated "touch" - the game can't tell the difference.
Can anyone make a profile for Modern Combat 4?
Edit: Scratch that. Making profiles is simple enough. The controller works in pretty much every aspect off the start, except for aiming and a few misc. controls (throwing grenades, crouching, sprinting, and opening the boost menu).
Does anyone know how to reduce the sensitivity of the dualshock3 sticks? On the Nexus 7 when I use the right stick to look around it is much less sensitive than on the Nexus 10. This makes the N10 very difficult to control and requires very fine movements of the stick.
EDIT: you can change the sensitivity in preferences/button properties

Forgot about that site - totally agreed. Having these profiles stored in a single location would be awesome. Posted mine to the Nexus 10 page.
Added my first profile for Dungeon Hunter3
and 2nd for NFS most wanted
3rd Asphalt 7

I don't see the links for your uploads.
In Nova 3 when I hold the left analog stick to move forward it will stop moving after a few seconds and I will have to let go and push forward again. Any fix for that?

Yeah Icouldn't find download buttons for them after I uploaded either. Thought maybe they had to review all uploads before they go live or something...
You're having that trouble with the profile I uploaded in this thread? I'll have a look at it.
Yep, I'm using yours, thanks. In tried making the button bigger and smaller but it didn't help.

Try editing that button and turning off relative touch, think I turned that on by accident.

I just uploaded a copy with relative touch off, please let me know if that fixes it.
