Off-topic: Should I release my super-light stock ROM? (no, it's not the same with Wolfbreak's and others, it is very light with minimal tweak/modification) Released!

whats the difference?

he's written it down in his post! seems like a more polished up version of gingervillain.

"Off-topic: Should I release my super-light stock ROM? (no, it's not the same with Wolfbreak's and others, it is very light with minimal tweak/modification)"
yes you should.

Nice work man,
Haven't tested extensively, but in the 10 mins or so I've been playing with this ROM on my wife's phone, it's been just as GV is on my Desire - fast, smooth and pleasant to use.
The only bug to report is quiet audio recording using the videocamera but this seems to be present in all X10 ROMs ATM (WB/Ultima/TEAM/Superoxygen/Ewjet), so is certainly not a criticism of this ROM - if that could be fixed though, then this ROM would be perfect (hint hint!!)
A great release, thank you for this

- Works on either locked/unlocked bootloader
Yeah, i have a locked bootloader...so that made me happy.
I loved spaarc original one, and so if this is that with fixes and what not....I will definatley love this one. Only problem so far...is on DoomKernel battery seems to be draining rather fast...will reboot wipe stuff and edit post with update.
EDIT: after reboot and wiping ...seems good again. If not will use default one...cuz rom is fast enough with or without custom kernel.

Nice rom there. always wanted to see malysian chef.. *flashing* will report if got bug.

I just installed your ROM and so far I am happy with it. I have been trying all kinds of ROM this week on both my handset.
Would unlocking the BL allows this to run better?
Is it possible to put a std SEMC camera program?
How much free memory do we really need?
Thx.

Whenever battery percentage changes whole notification bar flickers. This is of course with cyanogenmod statusbar tweaks battery percentage shown.
Phone gets hot when doing things like browsing and playing games. Battery was usually cool with spaarc original cm7 barebones version.
Wifi sometimes never reconnects. Manually have do it through settings.
Are you going to maintain this rom or was this a one time update....I would like for you to continue working on this.....if possible thanks

What happened to your Leaf ROM? Or is that ROM is the one you wanted to release?

Hey, post some screenshot lah !

1. No, it doesn't.
2. No, it's not possible so far.
3. Not much. Shouldn't be any problems since this ROM is smaller than most ROMs out there.

1. Does this notification bar flickering happen in the original GV ROM?
2. I don't get that problem myself, so I can't check.
3. Same as above
4. If I find something I can fix, I will update it.

It is originally for the Wildfire (Leaf r3) but since I switched to the X10, I thought I'd make one. So yes, that's the ROM I wanted to release.
Oh, and, stuff will go slow since I've got my final exam trials going on.
Also, if you guys use DooMKernel, battery will drain fast since deep sleep is not working in the current version.

What do you mean DooMKernel has drainage? You mean unlocked devices would have battery drainage?

Unlocked bootloaders and running a custom kernel are two different things.
Unlocking the bootloader itself won't do anything. It's caused by the custom kernel you were able to install due to the unlocked bootloader.

I have no idea if original gv rom does the flickering unless you are talking about the first one by spaarc, and then the answer is no. Not that I remember. Also seems as if battery drains fast the first 5%....I'm on doomkernel so u can ignore that. Could add torch cuz if I flash it all it does is force close everytime.
Edit: just after posting this comment got wlod. Happened on spaarcs original one as well, same situation.

RE the torch,
If you get the torch.apk and add it to the ROM zip (system\app), then reflash the ROM, the torch works fine, even from the widget button in the notification bar.
RE the battery/WLOD,
Using stock kernel the battery life is really good and no WLOD or even force closes. The ROM runs really smooth

I will hit thanks when at PC. So far so good with your instructions.
Edit. When playing music it stutters sometimes.....annoying. flashed audio fix...better now.
Battery drain on stock seems alright...will give it a couple of days. No wlod so far.

Thought I would make this a new post, to bump this ROM/thread up.
EDIT 2: Okay battery life is now back to being wonderful. On stock kernel. Still quite fast. Audio stuttering can be SORTA fixed with audio lag fix zip by Z. No WLOD so far, probably had WLOD due to being on DoomKernel (never overclocked it though).
-Maybe add torch to ROM, I added it to the ROM zip like wildcardspv said to do...and it works.
-WiFi pain in the butt. Will NOT reconnect to WiFi after disconnected while in deep sleep. I have to manually go in and reconnect.
-Possibly add some extra governors...such as SmartASS v2, InteractiveX.
-Notification bar flickers when battery percentage changes.
-Any use of a live wallpaper slows down ROM alot.
Tried to think of other things. But to be honest...can't. This ROM is actually one of the best ones out there. WiFi is my only BIG gripe...but apart from that kinda perfect.

For the wifi issue, have you set wifi sleep policy to never? (Settings, wireless and networks, wifi settings, menu, advanced, wifi sleep policy, never) - had my wifes set like this and no wifi problem.
She also had the audio stutter and unfortunately its for that reason she's had to come away from this rom for now and gone back to spaarc's superoxygen 2.0.3 which is almost identical but haven't experienced any problems with it at all (using stock kernel).

Both the ROM s are made by me ,
So it is but natural that both are identical

MIUI 1.12.9 Fascinate/Mesmerize Rom UPDATE..12/13/11

This is a build ported from a vibrant setup, some tweaks that dfgas incorporated into the last few builds, some extra tweaks from here and there, and extended settings built in. It is very smooth and fast after letting it settle in for a bit.
Let me know how it is for you. You can wipe data or just cache and dalvik...I do all 3...enjoy.
Thanks to anyone that has a hand in developing for the fascinate / mesmerize...the list would be too long to write!
-as of 1.12.9...
-#911 issue fixed (thanks sbrissen, dfgas, & anyone else involved)
-modified default transparent lockscreen...live wallpapers show through lockscreen
-new 1.12.9 Fascinate link...
http://db.tt/enasc1vs
-new 1.12.9 Mesmerize link...
http://db.tt/LHY0AeKk
-as of 1.11.25...
-includes Glitch V13 kernel with working 3 button recovery (with updated screenstate scaling fix)
-new option of miui app drawer
-pick setup, then enable, wait a couple seconds for drawer to load up, then swipe down from top of screen slightly lower than status bar to pull down drawer (almost right at bottom edge of status bar)...takes a little getting used to swipe area as it is very small.
-new options of hiding signal bars and headset icons
-new option of appdrawer background color
-new "on the fly" statusbar layout switching (no need to refresh statusbar anymore)
-new options of autostarting appdrawer
-charging animation it top bar fixed
Here is a link to the v6 supercharger thread...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18703418&postcount=5021
I would suggest installing the latest supercharger script...http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=792186&d=1322022964 and the app script manager...http://market.android.com/details?id=os.tools.scriptmanager
Download both, change the supercharger scripts name from .pdf to .txt, install script manager, go into script managers options and turn on browse as root, then navigate to the directory you downloaded the supercharger script to within the app, click on it, select run as root, then run. Follow the scripts prompts, and as a suggestion, I use option 7. This makes the phone fly even faster at all times even with many apps open. I would have incorporated this into the rom, but the developer would rather you visit the thread to get it.
Downloading now. Thanks!
First impressions:
(Background: Wiped all three from "mounts and storage" menu)
Appears to be based off of MIUI Android (UK port of MIUI) as opposed to MIUI.US. Not sure what diffferences (if any) apply other than the bootani and background. Amiright?
Extended settings built-in is quite awesome.
Noticed MiuiCompass wasn't in there (but DSP Manager was...awesome again). Attached in case you don't have the apk and want to add it in the future.
MMS sent over 3G on first try.
I am not sure which market you bundled with it, but I always go in and remove marketUpdater and add back in the old vending.apk. (This isn't a criticism, just something I do that might be good to know in case I have future issues that may be caused by that mod...I know I am probably rare in liking the old market.)
So far so good. Now I just need to grow a pair and figure out how to swap kernels in the zipfile so I can throw Glitch v13RC1 in there; at which point I'll truly have my "Flash one-and-done".
Great work, Rick S. Can't wait for the full list of changes/tweaks! Thanks again.
Will this work on the Telus version?

Compass.apk should be in there, but thanks anyway. Basically if porting from a "stock" setup, roms wont differ very much at all, but another difference is that the reboot options are capitalized. I would love to have glitch v13 in there, but its not publically released yet. I do install it on mine though. All you need is the boot.img and the lib/modules folder...modules need to match boot.img that was built.

Thanks for sharing and spending time doing this.
I am going to give this a try now, I am coming from 1.11.4, and I have yet to try the extended settings yet, so this will be great to check it out at the same time.

I wasn't suggesting you put V13 in there. I was just commenting on my own lack of courage to do it myself more than anything. Thanks for the tip though.
Been installing apps and such basically nonstop since install and listening to music on it. No issues. I did update to Glitch v12RC1 right off the bat as well.
So far, this seems to be about as stable as the 9-16 release which has been my fall-back. I've had the fewest issues with that one. Hopefully this one will be my new 9-16. (Will find out when I get home and see how it handles the wifi/3g handoff that seems to have been causing the most problems on the latest few roms for me)

Thank you for the reply. I know there are differences the big one is one cdma and the other is gsm. I did not see the vibrant mention the first time in the OP. if anyone knows of a compatible miui for the Telus version pm me please I would love to try it
Looks great Rick...thanks again. I had issues with the other '11' roms so far and was back on the 10.28. And also big.thanks for the easy instructions for installing super charger....I couldn't get then to stick a month ago....no problems this time ( used your suggestion....will tweak later after I settle in) only issue is google+ fc at start up. I don't use it so not a huge deal.....will uninstall and install new......phone is flying.
Edit: Re-install of Google+ did the trick. Can't believe how fast and smooth this phone is running now.
Thanks for the responses. Im going to update some MIUI mods and put links in the op soon...launcher mod and screen transitions are some.

Sorry about that...my gmail seems to work fine though. I used JT's 3 button recovery fix kernel because its probably the most used throughout various roms. It doesnt have bln. You can flash any kernel you like though and it will work fine as long as the kernels allows for it.

GSM and CDMA roms/kernels aren't cross compatible. The phones share a name, that's it, they're pretty different when you get down to the nuts and bolts (or silicon and copper.)

"Hmmm. I just had huge success flashing jt's 3ButtonFix.zip kernel over the 1.11.4, making big improvements in battery and GPS. But this is an upgrade, using the same kernel, even though my current ROM is working fine. Hmmm..." thinks the flash junkie as he tries to pretend he might not go ahead and flash this anyway.
Edit: Of course I flashed it, with the script. Running great. Overnight, battery stays in high 90s.
All I can say is wow!! This is by far the most responsive miui build I've ever used, running the script on setting seven as suggested running glitch v13 ml OC`d to 1440..very smooth, plus have all the reboot options again nicely done, thanks much sir!

In the past the miui builds I've run while being in my opinion nicer to use have always seemed more sluggish than Vanilla or cm7, not now..

I actually ported the MIUIScotland 1.11.9 ICS framework I9000 rom to the fascinate. It seems the only difference are a couple added files within the framework and a few files elsewhere, along with the version number in the build prop. Its not even worth playing with though. There are no noticeable differences anywhere. Waist of time just in case anyone was wondering or has heard of it.

Thanks. Nice ROM. Icons in the status bar are blurry though. Apart from that, working fine for now.
Also, what file in the framework do I need to change to change the background that shows when we are in the Settings menu etc? Kinda obtrusive the default ones, so wanted to change them.
EDIT: Superuser is denying all apps root access, without any prompt showing up. Tried with both Titanium and Root Explorer.

The icons in the status bar look blurry because i did't have time to resize them.I promise that this will be fixed in future versions.
Maybe the problem with the su apk is caused by the kernel you are using.I never encountered such a problem when i run the tests but i was using my kernel instead.
Please, if you find any other bug, let me know...

I can assure you though, that everything will run flawlessly if you use my kernel for mt11i:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1496102

Good rom.for instalations folows next step:
1.instal firmware .062
2.instal this kernel;http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1496102
3.enter in CWM and full wipe
4.instal hybrom v.15
5. 2 reboot
6.enter in CWM and wipe cache partition dalvik cache
7.enjoy
I'm going to flash it today, or at least tommorow, and see how the rom is rolling at neo v. Going to report back soon
Edit 1: Okey, I see I have 2 launchers installed at begining. So I'm able to chose which one I would like to use, and just uninstall the another one
Edit 2: A little feedback The picture of background in settings menu is not so good in my opinion, it would be nice if there would be an option that will replace the image as just black background.. And second, the lack of OC option on your kernel

If you want, you can install another stock based kernel with OC.The rom will work fine with it.You will never get OC from my kernel. It's a way of thinking.I do not see it as a disadvantage.
If you want you can install another theme and change the settings background.
Please give some feedback on some other important issues like stability, speed, smoother scrolling, better touchscreen responsiveness, etc in comparison with stock firmware...
By the way, the resize of the icons is almost ready and i will probably release a flashable zip with the fix soon enough...

Hybrom is built without a boot image, and it can be installed on an any stock based kernel.
The choice about what kernel you will install is up to you.I prefer kernels without overclocking.
In the end you will have more disadvantages from an overclocked kernel (overheating, instability) than advantages (speed)
I agree;i use boof kernel and everythings work perfect.

I always wondered how will Diezel's Sony Sketch font look on our large screens
p.s. that font is not used in SE logo, it's created later based on look of SE logo
SE logo was made just as a logo, it was drawn.
To be honest it's a bit thin Not sure if we(on android) can change size, formatting of fonts.

Looking forward to see that, as when using this rom I feel somehow strange, like things aren't properly sized
Also in sms, icon in upper right part, for new sms, is a bit to large. Same thing happened when I tried using conv. app from xperia S.

-stability, hm ok didn't experience any problem.
-speed, speed of each app is ok, but switching between apps is slow, I would say to slow. for example when i receive sms and pull down status bar, click on it, sometimes it need 2,3 second to switch to sms.
-smooth scrolling is ok (why just ok? well maybe didn't pay much attention to that )
-touchscreen responsiveness, well I noticed one annoying thing, usually on stock, when light turns off ->touchscreen is off, and you can wake your phone with only hard keys. In your rom you can wake phone even touching on (turned off)screen which lasts only 2-3 second after it turns off. That wouldn't be a big problem if not only you wake it up but you actually press something
Also I noticed low number of free ram, I guess it's because of launcher and maybe other stuff you used.

About sonysketch font:I really didn't know which of the two came first. The logo or the font...
Useful information.
About icon resizing:Icons in the SystemUI.apk are resized and a flashable zip containing the new resized SystemUI.apk is uploaded on the first page of this thread under the "USEFUL CWM FLASHABLE ZIPS" section(SystemUI.apk is the one responsible mostly for the icons in your status bar).Framework-res.apk is now under resizing and it's half done. One or two more apks. and everything will be o.k.
About conversations.apk:The icon (for new conversation) is like the one from xperia s because this is the xperia s conversations.apk.It has nothing to do with resizing...
About screen going off:The screen after about 20sec gets dimmer. It doesn't turn off.It turns off after 30 sec.In this 10sec interval you have the chance to fully wake your screen only by touching it.After the 30sec have passed you will have to press the (hard) home key to wake your screen.
About free ram:Please give me some numbers... (I already have improved this feature in the upcoming v16)
P.S. i do not own an mt11i,so testing is very hard (a friend of mine owns an mt11i,but i do not see him often). So, posts like the previous one, are very useful for me.Please give me some more feedback and i may be able to bring neohybrom at the levels of the original hybrom...

About screen, if you didn't changed levels, it should dim like stock, right? I know about that, but I'm not talking about that.
I'm talking that when screen goes off(really off, no dim) you can still wake up phone by touching screen.
About rams, hm, I moved back to stock, so can't check real numbers, but I remember after some time it gets down to ~70-80, it doesn't get freeup, and i didn't even used much apps, regular calls, sms, gtalk, 1-2 times browser.
only after I use one of those widgets from GO(sorry don't know name, as I don't use it usually) to kill apps, it only goes to ~130.

Trying to Hellraise Chameleon v1.2 - Samsung/AOSP hybrid?

Not sure if anyone else noticed this Rom over in the I9100 forums but it looks great. Pretty much the best of both worlds the smoothness of a Sammy Rom and the some of the best functions of a AOSP Rom such as dialer, SMS, contact, etc. I tried to use the Flash-aholicsTool with no success. It seems to process it okay but when you flashl the rom you'll get a lot of "System UI' has stopped working errors.
I might be in the minority but...this looks like it would be a great rom if someone with a LOT more skills then me was able to make it run.

Seems like a nice rom...I think I'll give it a spin...the Chameleon v1.2 rom I was referring to is based on the latest sammy release XWLPU 4.0.4.
Thanks
Hopefully you full wiped before flashing. If not that could be why it isn't working for you.

No I did a full wipe....with a format of the normal (data, system, etc) actually tried multiple times.
I was able to get it to work. I had on force close for android.phone but once I cleared it I was able to use and make a call without issues. I did not test out the Chameleon v1.2 very much. Just was curious.
So here is what I did.
1. Flash the rom completely and then booted it up completely.
2. Hold down the power button until the popup appears and choose reboot, then recovery.
3. Choose the Chameleon add on if you want it. (I did this step).
4. Go back to recovery and choose the i777updater-Chameleon I made and flash it in cwm. It will give you the mic swapped siyah kernel 4.1.4 and add other files for our button config, CSC files, etc.
5.Reboot and it worked for me. Again I did NOT thoroughly test for it as it just seems like a version of CM9 or something from my very limited use. Hope this helps.

I had that same problem the first time I flashed it. Then I went back in and flashed it again and had the one force close but then it all worked after. On the first flash it seemed to me like it was an issue with the cwm recovery version. I was on cwm 6. and when I went back to recovery I still had cwm 6. and thought that was weird unless they were using it as well. Then when I flashed it the second time, reboot the phone, went back to recovery to flash the add on then I had cwm 5. then I rebooted the phone again, then again went to recovery and flashes the zip I made to fix the button and all. I am not positive here but it did start working for me.
I only tried it out for a short time, maybe 30-45 minutes. It just seemed like a version of cm in a way so it wasn't of much use to me. I didn't really see any of the Samsung stuff in it.

OK I am downloading it again and will try to check it out. I will change a couple of things like the contacts.apk or phone.apk or? since that is the error that I saw. If I can get it to where it is stable I will send you a pm with a link to my edited version of it. I am just gonna kang it because there has to be something that can be done for us. I am NOT saying I will port it and post it anywhere. It is their work. I will just see what I can figure out for personal satisfaction and then share with ya what I did.
Solely because it is bugging me seeing that it isn't working. I have NEVER had an issue with ANY i9100 rom not working so gonna give it a try.

That'd be awesome, RockRatt. Let us know what your experiences are.
FYI, the phone crashes are presumably due to the CSC files from your updater zip. The ROM dev took out all the CSC stuff, and I did not get those crashes prior to your zip. The problems I am having are: SystemUI crashes unexpectedly and frequently, and "Preparing USB Storage, checking for errors" will sometimes remain in status bar permanently after boot.
The SystemUI crashes remind me of the ICS leaks back in the day that no one could figure out. Finally I think Entropy (who else?) found out it was related to mms APNs or something. I don't quite remember.
It's strange b/c we have been able to run i9100 ROMs with only kernel and keylayout changes. Not sure why this one would be different.
Things I have tried:
Full wipe, format system AND sdcard
Run ROM without external sdcard
Run ROM with inlcuded (SpeedMod) kernel to see if more stable
remove Busybox, unroot
Reinstall Busybox/Superuser
playing with APNs
switching modems
I think I got it all to work properly. So far NO issues at all. I will upload it and shoot whoever wants it through a pm. Again this is NOT my work so I cannot put it in here. I just got it to work and put it into 1 zip file to flash. I replaced the original kernel with siyah 4.1.4 mic swap from AJ. So shoot me a pm if you want it.

Use Ktoon's Flash-aholicsTool. It works perfectly with this rom.
EDIT: Data won't be enabled by default; after booting and going through the setup wizard, tick "enable data" and on the next reboot, it will connect.
I guess there's something either with my hardware, or with the way AT&T's network is where I live. Seems you and RockRatt have no issues, and others like me and OP have nothing but. It's weird because I can't think of any other I9100 ROMs being this device/region specific.

I had issues too. That is, until I used Ktoon's tool. What did you use?
I know i mentioned this to all who pm'd me and dont know why others have issues with it. I had it run for two days with no issues at all. And i used the EXACT same zip on my phone as those I gave it to. AJ also asked for it so MAYBE he can figure it out if he wants to or has time. I didnt plan on using it too long anyways, even with no issues for me and it did seems smooth. I like using CM10 or one of my ucle5 roms personally. It just didnt have enough for me to stay on it. I like more of a themed rom and it is basically a look alike (graphics wise) as CM9 to me. I didnt see anything of the samsung apps or asop apps I cannot get with CM10. Hope for those that are determined to get it working figure it out. Personally AJs UCLE5 is just as smooth and fast without glitches of any kind. My roms I made were based off his work and they just work. When i like living on the edge i use CM10 which also flashing it every few days pretty much cures my flash addiction.
Not sure why it doesnt work but if you look at the OP of the Chameleon rom he specifically states that data needs to be wiped or you will have issues. Not sure if that is what is going on here since I can only read what your issues are. But dont give up and i am sure you will get it to work as well. I did save a nandroid and may go back to it for more testing, but if i cannot replicate what you guys are seeing I dont know what else to look at.

Tips
Use an alternative launcher
I've included the stock AOSP launcher to keep everything, well, as stock as possible, but I've noticed Apex or Nova to be smoother
Turn on Force GPU Rendering
Ok I don't know the why's and how's or even if this is 100% correct but I've made some observations about GPU rendering in AOSP and Samsung ROMs:
Samsung ROMs seem to respect application manifests with regards to GPU rendering. If an app's manifest has hardwareAccelerated=false, the Rom won't use GPU rendering for that app.
AOSP ROMs seem to have GPU Rendering always enabled (despite what the Force GPU Rendering checkbox says in Settings) and override the hardwareAccelerated tag in applications.
I've noticed much smoother scrolling in applications which have hardwareAccelerated=false if Forced GPU Rendering is checked in Samsung ROMs. Root Explorer is a good example. Try it yourself - open up Root Explorer and fling the screen up and down a few times. Then exit (properly, using the back button, not just clicking the home button) and check Force GPU Rendering in Settings. Open up Root Explorer and try flinging the screen again. Massive difference.
For a smoother and more AOSP-like experience, tick Force GPU Rendering.
Chameleon ThunderBolt! Addon
I've selected a some particular scripts for Chameleon from pikachu01's awesome ThunderBolt! collection.
Better performance, better battery life through Linux kernel tweaks catered for Android OS and flash memory.
Better battery life and performance through usage of screenstate_scaling whereby it switches thresholds/VM tunables depending on your screen state.
Less RAM usage through zipalign.
The screenstate_scaling addon will perform VM scaling and governor tunables scaling to get the best of battery life and performance.
TCP_Buffers script in /etc/bolt_scripts to increase TCP buffers for better network performance.

FAQ
I'm already on v1.0/1.1 Do I need to full wipe to use v1.2?
No, a non-wipe flash should be fine, although if you encounter any issues please perform a full wipe and test again before posting about possible bugs. If coming from any other Rom, you must wipe.
I just flashed it and my phone is running like a snail
As with all new installs, give the media scanner time to do its work and the system to build caches etc before judging the performance of (any) Rom
MTP is not working on my Mac
Make sure you have Android File Transfer installed, and, oddly, click on Camera (PTP) in the USB computer configuration dialogue

[ROM][P][ALL BLs] TinyXperiaLite™ v0.5 - Based on Vision™Rom

Introducing, a new ROM based on the amazing acervenky's Vision™Rom,
TinyXperiaLite™
Many people want simple, fast and bloat free ROMs. They only want the bare minimum ROM so that they can freely add and tweak (the ROM or directly, the sources) so as to customize it as they please. I know I do. I want to take a minimum ROM, flash it on my phone and then add AC!D Audio Engine 5.0 and Sony Xperia T Small Apps to it. These are my personal modifications that suit me. And similarly, there will be modifications that will suit others as well. So, presenting TinyXperiaLite. The main purpose of this ROM is to enable you to make what you want for your device. Add apps, features, change boot animation, add ring tones and what not because this ROM weighs in only at 76 MB (for Release v0.1) and can support all your demands.

Battery & RAM Tweaking Guide
Battery Calibration Tutorial
FOR THOSE WITH BATTERY PROBLEMS:
1. After flashing your phone with a new ROM, install this software:
BATTERY CALIBRATOR on Play Store - 47 KB size
2. Then, charge your phone to 100%.
3. IMPORTANT. Remove CHARGER first.
4. IMMEDIATELY hit "Battery Calibration" (1 or 2 seconds delay is fine, wait for BATTERY voltage to drop and be stable)
5. Use your phone normally (don't charge in between) till it hits 1%.
6. Then charge your phone UNINTERRUPTED (leave it for charging all night) till 100%.
7. Unplug and start using. You should be having as little as 2-3% battery drain for 6-8 hours of IDLING now. That's the optimization of a calibrated battery.

Extra Battery Saving Tips:
1. Set a brightness level. Do not use Auto Brightness, it sips more power in turn.
2. Set ROTATION to OFF if you are not using Landscape Mode at all.
3. Use EXTENDED BATTERY Mode if you actively use WiFi/Mobile Data.
RAM Cleaning
- Do not use task killers
- Freeze/Move to Quarantine those APPS which you DO NOT USE regularly and you don't want them TO RUN IN THE BACKGROUND
APP QUARANTINE on Play Store
Go ahead, try it. Move all unwanted apps to quarantine now!
DEEP SLEEP STATE battery saving
Your phone sips the least amount of power when it is in DEEP SLEEP STATE. There is a new app in the marketplace which can FORCE DEEP SLEEP STATE on your phone. This is especially useful if you want the phone to conserve battery for hours and then wake up for a minute and sync all new alerts in one go. This can help prolong your usage on a single charge.
DEEP SLEEP BATTERY SAVER on Play Store
This app is under development and can be found on XDA developers forums itself. Here's the link to the thread:
[APP] [2.1+] Deep Sleep Battery Saver
How Deep sleep Battery Saver works
Deepsleep battery saver constantly puts the device to deepsleep mode while screen off. During deepsleep mode, Wifi, 3G are turned off, background apps are stopped. Therefore, most apps are not working, including Facebook, Google Service, etc,. It then constantly wakes up in order to download email, sync Facebook status, etc, which is defined by deepsleep frequency and woke up duration
By constantly put device into deepsleep mode, we will save battery life due to no Internet connection, and therefore most of network-based apps, such as Facebook, Gmail will not work.
Caution: during deepsleep mode on, this app may disrupt your normal activities, such as your email notification comes with larger delay.
In advanced mode, you can customize more parameters, including day/night settings, active period, screen timeout, sync strategy, ignored apps, etc,.

thanks.:good:
Oh crap oh crap. Everyone don't flash the ROM please! Don't flash 0.3
Will fix tomorrow.

[ROM] MiGusta (build 130803) [MIUI]

MiGusta - MIUIv5 for the Droid DNA
MiGusta is a port of AdyScorpiusMIUI for the M7 to the DNA, ported on to a freshly built CM with a couple kernel changes to make it boot. This is only for the Droid DNA on Verizon.
If you download this rom and flash it to your previously rooted/unlocked/s-off device, I take no responsibility if something bad happens, it's all on you now. However I'll probably feel bad and try to help...
First and foremost, special thanks to...
AdyScorpius - for porting MIUI to the M7
chad0989, crpalmer, and the CyanogenMod Team - for getting CM on the DNA
lbxmobbin_1 - for helping me out with RIL issues
What works
Data (4g, 3g, calls, texting)
Camera
WiFi
Wireless charging
Mostly everything, but I haven't tested things like NFC or bluetooth, so they may be broken (if you can test this and let me know, that'd be super)
What doesn't work
Anything that's broken in CyanogenMod (by theory)
Bugs and Solutions
4g isn't enabled at boot - dial *#*#4636#*#*, go to Phone Information, scroll down to Set preferred network type and change it to LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL), then toggle data off and on (via Settings or the notification toggles)
Performance may not be as great as stock AOSP roms. That's because this is a port, and not entirely built from source, not to mention it's MIUI. It's been smooth for me, but this rom may not be for you if you're into intense gaming. Also, if you're going to bring up benchmark scores, don't bother posting because benchmarks aren't worth anything.
Superuser isn't enable by default - This isn't really a bug, but since I'm sure MIUI is new to a lot of people there will be issues with this. Go to the Permissions app, go to ROOT, and enable permission monitor.
Led doesn't flash unless plugged in - go into Settings > Led and change the colors to Green
Making phone calls to numbers that begin with 1 don't work as expected - remove the 1 from the beginning (this is an MIUI issue)
All sent text messages will display as "failed" after a reboot fixed in 130717
I'd like to mention that I turned the recent apps button into the menu key, mainly due to the fact that MIUI doesn't have any settings that could enable menu functionality in the hardware keys.
Questions and Answers
Q: does this work on GSM/will you release a GSM or Butterfly version?
A: it might work on GSM, I personally don't know since I'm a Verizon customer. I am not going to release a GSM/Butterfly version of this rom. I am not going to risk doing something wrong and breaking someone else's phone that I can't personally test/debug on, sorry. If someone wants to release a mod that will make it work for GSM, then by all means go nuts and I'll add it to the OP, but I cannot provide any kind of support for it.
Q: will X kernel work on this rom?
A: short answer - no, long answer - maybe, I haven't had time to go and test every single kernel on this rom. This is an AOSP-based rom, so if you're going to test a kernel make sure it's for AOSP. I personally had to do a couple of small kernel mods to make this rom boot, if you tested a kernel and it doesn't work, ask the kernel developer to contact me and I can send them the goods.
Q: how do I do X?
A: Google it. I am not going to answer any questions if you haven't put in enough time and research to look it up yourself. MIUI is an entirely different system from AOSP, and there are different ways of doing things (such as permissions/superuser). If you Googled it and came up dry, then leave a reply and I'll try to help you out.
Q: X force closed/my phone rebooted out of no where/I'm having some other issue, how do I fix it?
A: explain what went wrong, what was the procedure to causing the issue, and most importantly provide a logcat. If you don't know how to get a logcat, Google it. Explaining the procedure might be enough for me to fix it, but a logcat will drastically help in me getting a fix.
Q: when is the next version coming out/when is this feature getting added/when anything?
A: no
Q: can you add X app in the next update?
A: no, I'm trying to keep MiGusta relatively slim, and unless there's a VERY good reason, I won't add it.
Q: I get an error when trying to flash, what do I do?
A: make sure that the md5sum of the file (which can be found next to the download link in the OP) matches the md5 of the file on your computer. I flash the rom personally before uploading it to make sure it's smooth sailing, so if it doesn't flash then chances are you just got a bad download. If you downloaded the rom more than once and the md5 of both are the same, but doesn't match the one I listed, then let me know because it means it was a bad upload (and my fault more than anyone's).
Q: do I need to flash gapps?
A: nope, they're included!
Q: can I use your rom as a base for my rom?
A: I'd prefer if you didn't, mainly because I spent days learning how to do all of this by hand, and I'd prefer if all my hard work wasn't kanged. If you want to try porting MIUI yourself and you've run into an issue, shoot me a PM and I'll gladly share my knowledge
Please note - I am a human, I have a life, I have a job, and once the summer is over I have school. I'm doing this as a hobby, so don't expect me to be lurking this thread all day and answering questions on demand. I can't promise this will be updated as soon as a new version of MIUI/AdyScorpiusMIUI comes out, but I can promise that I'll try my best to release updates as soon as I can, and that I'll try to answer as many questions as I can.
DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS POST IN ITS ENTIRETY.
This is your only warning. If you ask something that has been addressed above, expect to be ridiculed.

And one last thing...
For the sake of all that is holy, do not quote the entire OP. I will hate you and so will everyone else.
Nice! Thanks!
What a weekend coming up. Thanks for the hard work
Damn wish I didn't leave early from work I could have downloaded this. Don't have internet at home and use only shared data until they resolve the whole fiber situation

The ROM works pretty good. Not having the roaming issue this time around. Performance is pretty rough as the op already stated. I also get random miui fc's but other than that things seem OK so far

Performance on the home screen is slow when moving icons and folders, but everything else seems relatively smooth. I changed the I/O scheduler to deadline in performance options which seemed to smooth things a bit. The games I've tried run without lag. I noticed the MIUI Weather widget isn't installed, and the status bar shows 'Verizon Wireless' in front of notification icons. Has anyone been successful in activating their Xiaomi account? The page doesn't load for me.

MIUI Weather (the last I checked) doesn't work outside of China, so I left it out.
This is just a great super solid ROM.. I haven't had any problems. This thing is great.

You have to go into the permissions application, which is in the security folder and enable root access

It's a known issue that the LED doesn't flash for notifications when the phone is unplugged, for a temporary workaround, go into Settings > LED and change the colors from blue to green and they'll start working again!
Just to let people know crpalmers kernel is working pretty damn good on this. Wipe cache and flash. Then wipe cache again.

Ok here are a few bugs I'm noticing. 1. Battery percent does not work when selected 2. We have some left over htc one options in advanced options (it is greyed out so I assume you are about to get rid of them

Was your phone plugged in when you switched to battery percentage? I noticed it doesn't show up when you're plugged in, but when you unplug your phone it works correctly.
And I didn't even realize the HTC One settings were there, I'll get rid of em' in the next release, thanks
