Anyone know?

I used doomlords firmware and mines rooted successfully.
Try with his first, then if it works , try the English firmware and do the same steps.
Sorry if im not clear with my answers this is the first forum ive actively posted on

superoneclick uses exploits to get root if the phone doesnt have unsecure kernel. However, there is no exploit for the new gingerbread SE software right now (gingerbreak is fixed!). Therefore there is now chance right now to get root without unlocking bootloader and flash unsecure kernel :/
Therefore you have to flash the unsecure kernel, and then superoneclick gets root quite easily.

Oh, so basically the unsecure kernel hasnt got the patch or fix or update that stops you from rooting, its been removed ? Am I right ???
Sent from my SK17i using XDA App

no, there is just an option "secure" which (if set to 0) allows superoneclick to root very easy!

Oh k, I get it

Has anyone found a way to root a thunderbolt with version 1.70.605.0?

I'm in the middle of rooting mine after just now taking the OTA. If the downgrade flash takes, I'm all good.
*EDIT* Downgrade took, next is copying the eng bootloader
works like a charm
Lol what's the manual method? I'm new to all this stuff.

Without the unlocked bootloader all you get it temp root. So, unless you want to do an ADB temp root on your device while running pre-release firmware, you're kinda outta luck on that front. Do you have an issue with unlocking the bootloader we should be aware of?

[Q] Flashed but can't root on my x10

Hmm what could be the issue? Or if i have to wait, how long to wait for the root to be clickable? I'm a little worn out over these issues, as part of it is my fault as i already have it rooted everything done. But funny thing is when i optimize my phone or try to install the android keyboard (not the default input) it won't reboot. So i went to use another flashtool to try to install it but ended up i face some issues but i got it fixed. Puzzled, are we not allowed to optimize or install custom apks?
You canNot optimize with flashtool (for 2.3) what are you running???

Try flash it again and don't optimize it with flash tool, it breaks xrec and might cause bootloop...

I see. Yeah i followed, but how long will the root button clickable? If not i can't root at all. Another question, what's xrecovery for?
This happened to me as well, you gotta keep trying and it at the right moment. try flashing downgrade, then upgrade and then again downgrade and then try...it takes a few tries. I just rooted my device.
I have the same
is it rooting the 2.3.3 on x10i does not need to unlock the bootloaders 1st??

Help with rooting

Hello and sorry if this has been already asked. I just got my new Xperia Ray and I want to root it, but I can't. I have locked bootloader, android version 2.3.4 and firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62. Tell me exactly what to do cause I am really newbie. Send me links with tutorials to follow if needed.
P.S.: Moderators move it to right.section if it isn't right now. As I said I new here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1567125
here for .62
as for unlocking bootloader , use the testpoint method , dont use the official SE method because if you use that method, your phone will brick when you apply the update from them.
With test point, you can get the official sony's ICS update.
Hi..i have the version .69 and i would like to be root..
I want to transfer my apps in my sd card with link2sd app, i have made the partition but it said me that i have to be user to do this and inform superuser..

I would just google "how to root xperia ray." Seriously thats how I rooted my droid x. Thats actually how most network problems get fixed at work.
Cheers

I did googled, but it seems locked bootloader is the problem. And I can't unlock with testpoints. Any way to root with locked bootloader? Also I managed to get to 4.0.2.A.0.42.

i suggest you refer hansip's thread

if you got any problems with the testpoint, i think you have to try harder as i also had failed so many time doing that...maybe you have to manually install the driver..
I downgrade to .42 with flashtool and rooted with zerg tool. Then installed busybody and cwm with se tweak. All with locked bootloader!

I have unroot my Xperia mini pro and I am not reroot it.
Please help me
You might as well post some more details.
Software version used BEFORE rooting
Exploit used for rooting
Software version after BEFORE rooting
Method used for unrooting
Current software version
yep, that should do the trick.
Help you for what?

If you are on gingerbread Firmware (4.0.2.A.0.xx, but NOT .62 or .69) you can root it using Sony flashtool. Just connect device (USB debugging and unknow sources on) and click on the Open padlock.
If you are on ics you have to Flash gingerbread (for example .42) Firmware back, root it. Then there's a little Trick before upgrading to ics, with which it is pretty easy to root. But Do it like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695514 this thread
Pls tell us which Software Version you are currently on!

I had a very quick look at that thread and it looks like it does.
It's always worth using the search button in these forums. It can save you a lot of time.

good question, if ticklefish is right, then this will save me lots of time when i test new things on mi own roms, because it bricks often
Stock .587 is unrootable via adb.
ro.secure=1 makes it secure against exploit.
It does not it is for 4.1.A.0.562

Why u worry first downgrade to ginger than just update via Ota i.e wifi.. Root will remain.. Easy ics with latest kernel..
Sent from my WT19i using xda app-developers app
If you have boot loader unlocked then just flash the custom kernel as the kernels have in built su binaries and cwm recovery. As mine is also 587 built live with Walkman and I'm running cm10 on it. I have just flashed custom rom and that's it. No doom lord kit nothing else. Only kernel flash using flash tool

It's impossible to root it with a toolkit, see my rooting guide sticked in general forum how to root .587
I mean to say if you have unlocked bootloader then rooting via flashtool by flashing custom kernel is simplest and safest process. But you need bootloader unlocked
