[Q] works motorola photon for 3g MoviStar venezuela? - Motorola Photon 4G

My question is if the motorola photon after release Sprint works on 3 g MoviStar venezuela gsm. Sorry for my English but is translator

I wish i could help you but language barrier may be a problem
Right now there's a thread for unlocking the gsm radios. You'd have to get them unlocked to use gsm on another network i believe. So until they are unlocked you probably cant use them. Sorry

Dont worry, your English is better than a lot of people who actually live here! Ive heard rumors that yes both radio's are present, but no one has been able to activate the GSM radio in a Verizon RAZR.
Thanks for answer .. on eBay i see that, there sells unlock for GSM for Roger's droid Razr. But i don't see Verizon unlock))

Don't live in US so not shure but aren't Roger's using GSM?
I thought it were just Verizon who used CDMA.
Just got the XT912 a few days ago, from the packaging somehow it seems they use the SIM card for the 4G data package, and that sim can swapped between 4G devices, but the main part of the vzw service is still cdma.
I found an answer...Verizon droid razr has a GSM compability but locked by firmware

And with the ics update that locked part will go away, or at least the locked bootloader will, and that may lead to being able to unlock the Sim

US TO UK Question

Hi guys I'm having evo3d sent from America a friend is given me it would it work in the UK with my UK sim. If not is there anything in can do to make it work like changing the firmware to Europe or can I just root it and use custom roms on it
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
No, if it's from sprint. Sprint phones use cdma technology, so no slot to put your sim in... Lol, anyways, you need a gsm evo 3d, which nobody carries in the US.

Yes, the phone supports international GSM when it's stock. Rooting and unlocking the bootloader you can have gsm unlocked in the USA, but you don't have to worry about that.

Sent from my LG-P500
Yes no need to unlock the bootloader, and you can only be on gsm or cdma. Not both. If I'm not mistaken.

Is the DNA usable internationally?

Hey guys i live in india and ive been following the DNA and J butterfly news very closely. Ive read that the DNA has GSM capabilities on international networks. It pains me that htc hasn't released an international variant and would like to know if ..... well i can use the phone in india. Im using the one x right now but would love a true HD 5 inch behemoth as my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

A video was just released on YouTube showing the DNA running on att hspa. So I would assume it will work just about anywhere unless if verizon releases a patch to stop it from working on att.

I bought this phone at eBay and I've been using it all around Latin America with no issues so far, I've used it in Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Peru with a different sim card and operator for each country. Everything works perfectly Hsdpa data, messaging and phone calls, please have in account in Latin America the frequencies are the same as US at&t ones.

This phone should work in the UK someone else mentioned using it there in another thread with no issues.

Thanks all for that confirmation.
All you have to do is check the band frequencies to make sure that your operator supports the ones that the Dna uses for gsm

[Q] Photon in South Africa

I am selling my Motorola Photon 4G on Craigslist, and I had a guy call and ask something that I did not know how to answer. He was wondering if he could unlock it and use this phone in South Africa. I am running firmware version 2.3.5. The company he would be going through is Vodacom. To get to his specific branch's website, you have to add a .cd to the end of the name instead of com. I honestly don't know if it is possible, and if it is not, then I guess I am open to anyone wanting to buy the phone on here. Thanks for your help.
Phone is capable of international gsm usage as well as domestic

Unlock
First off, thanks for the quick response. So, just to clarify, will he need to unlock it at all?Or can he just put a sim card in from that company and it will work? Thanks

To clarify, it can do domestic GSM only with the KDDI radio (which isn't hard to flash, but kills Sprint functionality, can be regained). In countries other than the US, this is not an issue, and the photon will be able to use all features of the GSM carrier (other than 4g wimax) with proper APNs.
Photon can work on any network i must say.
