[Q] - HTC EVO 3D

My CDMA Evo3d is rooted and I'm wondering what rom would be the most like the HTC factory stock Rom that is updated with the most recent OTA updates? I've been trying to wait for Cyanogen but I don't want to try an alpha or even a beta version (not because I'm scared or anything, I just want everything pretty much in working order and I'm fairly happy with the stock experience except for not being able to update.)

Oh, I appreciate that suggestion and I will 2nd it! It is the ROM I run myself!
Heres a direct link: [ROM] joeykrim-original-1.2.0 Odex *Stock Rooted 2.08.651.2*
My goal was the same as yours, keep the experiece identical to stock with the addition of root and busybox and a few other small developer linux binaries in the /system/xbin directory. the additions I made will not impact the performance of Android at all as they are never used, unless the user specifically requests them.
Hope that helps and appreciate the support!

This one was available within hours of us getting s-off and is what I've been using. No issues and had been rock solid for me.

that ROM is not the most up to date. Yes it's 2.3.4, but Joey's has the recent updates from a week ago.

The updates from about a week ago were merely application updates that were safe to take OTA. I updated OTA so, although that ROM doesn't have them cooked in, I am up to date.

[ROM][ESPRESSO][STABLE][ECLAIR] Espresso No Bloat-ware

Hey Guys, just finished playing around with the kitchen and made a simple modification to the default espresso ROM. Unlike other Roms, this ROM does not have a lots of kernel level modifications, and lots of changes. But this ROM is just the default Rom that came with your shipped myTouch 3G Slide, except that this ROM does not have all the bloat-ware that make your phone slow and laggy. The followings features are included:
Features
======
Espresso UI
Busy-box
Rooted
SuperUser
NANO Editor
Deodexed APK Files
100% Stable (Think of it as your default rom)
Nothing that does not work.
Flash player
Cool Boot animation (Who likes that crappy tmobile boot animation? )
Eclair (2.1) [Tried Everything To Use Froyo And Make It Stable, No Luck, But I Don't Think There Is A Lots Of Stuffs Missing In Eclair)
Some Other Stuff
Removed Stuff
==========
All Crapware
HTC PDF Reader (Use Adobe Reader From Market)
HTC Twitter Client
Stocks
Stocks Widget
Tmobile Visual Voicemail (Get It From Market If Needed)
Tmobile My Account (Same as above)
Amazon MP3
AppPack Tmobile
All other crapware that makes your phone laggy.
As far as i know, there is nothing that doesn't work (Played it with for few days to see if something is wrong). Proximity sensor, wifi, bluetooth, keyboard, all the keys, touch screen, and almost everything works perfectly. Please let me know if something doesnt work.
How to install
=========
First root your phone using this method or this method.
Then put the zip file in your sd card and go to clockwork recovery. Then just install the zip file as you would do with every other rom.
If you dont get what i am saying, check this.
Please let me know if something does not work. THanks
[I am not an android developer, just a simple guy [and a bit of java programmer] ]
I dont think Tmobile is going to give us Froyo within this Dec 15th as rumored by a lots of sites. But for now, lets stay happy with eclair and lets hope they will send the updates soon.
Download ROM
GUYS, PLEASE DONT DOWNLOAD OR LEAVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK ABOUT THIS ROM BECAUSE THIS WASNT MEANT TO BE A ROM THAT EVERYONE SHOULD USE, I MADE IT FOR MY OWN PERSONAL USE AND JUST WANTED TO SHARE HERE SO THAT AT LEAST SOMEONE MIGHT BE SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS. MODS --> IF YOU THINK THIS IS INAPPROPRIATE OR SHOULD NOT BE HERE, I WOULD BE HAPPY TO SEE THIS THREAD IN THRASH FORUM (DELETED)

I used the factory shipped espresso ESPRIMG.ZIP file and modified it.
Awesome.
Reminds me of Slidemeroot5 minus the apps2ext.
What's nano editor, a text editor?
I think Fenix made a rom similar to this. Using 1.35 deodexing it, etc

Yeap nano is a terminal text editor. That means that if you want to edit some config file or text file in recovery mode or somewhere using adb shell, you can [I think it is better than vi]

That's not an OTA rom...
THIS is an OTA rom.
OTA brought the retail system (1.27.531) to 1.35.531 and updated the radio as well. If you're linking me to the correct Espresso zip that you used, you've based you rom on outdated system software.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. Has someone flashed this that can check their About this Phone section of settings to see which system version this is?

That is the latest we can use, because the latest ota does not allow flashing unsigned packages, so even clockworkmod wont work there. but you can always install the rom first and install the update.zip for the new ota (that is if you find one) . good luck

Fast and functional. I'm thankful for a new rom to use. Outdated is not an issue. I still load donut on people's G1's when they want stable root. Either way thanks for contributing....I could live without the negative comments.

Pointing out that the starting-point of this rom is outdated and potentially buggy is hardly a negative comment. It's a statement of fact that isn't mentioned anywhere in the first post. People should be aware of what they are flashing.
Improvements included with this update are as follows:
1. Battery Life:
Updates to the T-Mobile online contact backup connection, which will improve battery life.
2. Wi-Fi:
Ability to send MMS messages when connected to Wi-Fi.
3. Genius Button improvements:
Ability to turn GPS on and off using your voice, such as “Turn GPS on.”
Will announce Caller ID for incoming voice calls and allow you to “Answer” or “Ignore” using your voice.
Will announce incoming text messages and allow you to “reply” with dictation.
4. Faves Gallery improvements:
The Faves icon will be displayed beside notifications that appear while the device is locked to indicate that the communication is coming from one of your Faves.
Fave photo display speed will be enhanced.
General stability will be improved, including more seamless scrolling and consistent display of photos

[Q] Leaked Gingerbread or Official Gingerbread from Moto/ATT

So, its mid July ...I'm sure the update for Gingerbread is coming ....but apparently ...mostly everyone has installed the leaked gingerbread...now I ask is it worth it to go back to stock to be able to download the new update if so how do I go back? What do I need to flash? This question has probably been answered but I couldnt find it...thanks.

Hello filmusikat,
I see that you're running gingerblur 4.5 on your atrix, so do i. You need to flash 4.1.8.3 official sbf and check for the gingerbread update regulary. I don't think the leaked gb roms are worth to spend time for now. They all have glitches which would effect daily usage.

Hi filmusikat!
The latest ROM has proven to be very stable:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1169409
The instructions are included within the thread. Not addressing the unlocking part since your signature already tells you got it.
As for being worthy, I say it is. I was in Gingerblur too, and the performance difference is big.

no glitches affecting any daily usage on me for 4.5.91. 100% functional, and 100% better than froyo.
Remains to be seen which version of GB will be the official release. The leaked versions everyone is flashing may not be the most current which will be offered up.
NOTE SHE/HE NEVER MENTION GB 4.5, actually if she/he indeed installed ota gb update.zip, with you instructions she/he will have a HARD BRICK
So first thing to find out is what actually she/he has installed

My Atrix feels like it should have come out of the box like this. "If you want to confirm your status, please adb, su, and "cat /sys/firmware/fuse/ReservedOdm" or just open the file in Root Explorer. If you see something like:
10000000000010001000300004000
Then you should NOT SBF anything from Motorola"
If you want to post your ReservedOdm to look and see if you will be fine to SBF 1.83 again
Probably you are safe if you actually installed Kenth by CDW or moto-fastboot (boot.img and system.img)
But if you actually run the update.zip or any update trought the normal android recovery screen and if you saw the following legend "updating AP20 bootloader" in that case you CAN NOT flash any SBF from Motorola
I hope it help

[Q] Need Stock ROM

$5 DONATION TO YOUR PAYPAL IF YOU GET ME THIS ROM!
Does anyone have ATGAdmins stock rooted ROM? Here's the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1590754
While spring cleaning my Prime a few weeks ago, I deleted the zip. Later on, I accidentally deleted my nandroid backup also. ATGAdmin has closed up shop on XDA and I cannot find the ROM anywhere else.
It was the stock .21 ROM rooted with super user and busy box..that's it. No mods, either performance wise or visual wise. If anyone has it or can tell me where to get it, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.
if you want to run stock .21 just install like .15 or something, root it, use OTA rootkeeper, then do an OTA update to .21...
Only works with OTA updates tho, so if you cant do those then unfortunately this wont work.

Almost. From the Virtous thread: This is a pretty much stock build of Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich with tweaks and optimization's by the Virtuous Team.
That's what I didn't want. Because there are tweaks and optimizations, etc, some games don't work. Also, for some weird reason, a lot of people are claiming that the Prime is suddenly randomly rebooting recently. Someone said maybe a framework expired or something....idk.
what games dont work for ya?

Hey thanks a lot man. Hopefully someone has it. The way that I accidentally deleted my backup was because the backups are named by date, and I'm not sure if you can change the names, so I write the date of the backup down along with what ROM it is. Well I got mixed up somewhere (like 8 backups) and marked the stock ROM as something else, and later deleted it...thinking I was deleting an old AOKP. I'm afraid hardly anyone has it because it was just a plain stock ROM, just rooted with busybox and SU. So it wasn't very popular. I found another stock ROM I'm using now but it's the WW firmware and it bothers me. And the trackpad doesn't work. So thanks for the offer.
I'M STILL LOOKING FOR ATGADMINS STOCK ROM....EVERYONE! LINK IN FIRST POST!

As it says I rooted my phone, a samsung galaxy S3 through Sprint. I know I am not supposed to accept OTA updates, so whats the best way to keep up to date? Is there a sneaky thread somewhere? When I get the updates I assume I just flash them with odin and all will be good no interference with root access?
Thanks for the help.

Whenever updates are released, usually developers will incorporate them in their roms, and if you are just running stock, then usually someone will release the stock rom with latest update that will still keep you rooted.

depends on update
it depends on the update as to whether you would need to get it or not.
the 2 updates so far sprint has put out have been ok,
several instructions are out there to help with install if rooted.
won't work if you have Clockworkmod as the recovery though, unless incorperated into the ROM

Newb ROM question

Somewhat of an Amaze newbie here, but so far the community and information here have been incredibly helpful, so I'm hoping someone can help with my next question.
I've been thinking about popping my ROM cherry and installing one of the custom ROMs here - more specifically the Energy and/or SpeedROM. I have the latest files for both, am rooted, currently using 4ext Recovery, with S-On. I've already performed a Nandroid and full backup with Titanium Backup, and from what I can tell should be ready to take the plunge. I just wanted to make sure that there isn't anything I'm forgetting or need to know before I take the custom route.
Thanks again for all the hard work and assistance!

Lol at popping rom cherry, have fun.
Just make sure your already on the ICS OTA update before installing custom roms. The OTA update updates the radios and some other system partitions that need to be updated prior to ics being installed. Best of luck with everything. I'm on NRG but Speed Rom is about to be I installed soonish.

Cool, I think I have that part covered as I'm currently running ICS 4.0.3, so hopefully that won't prove to be an issue.
One other quick question: Will this affect the Google Play Store? As in, since I would be running an unofficial ROM, would I be unable to connect to the store to download/update apps?

You will still be able to connect to the Play Store.
For some rom, you have to add the APN for data to work.
Since your new at thus don't go with any alpha betas or release clients make sure to go with something pretty stable til u get the hang of this dont wanna brick your phone and not know how to fix it :-\ I bricked my phone like 10 times with some of these roms pretty scary lol. Speed rom 7 is pretty good . If you have any more questions or anything feel free to post or pm me. Good luck
