Any news on Sentio UI? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Saw this new ui showcased back in Feb....did it die before it got started, or has anyone heard anything new?
sent from my miui-powered nexus s 4g

I haven't seen or heard anything so i really don't know. I may have missed something, but i would probably pick up news about it from all the Android news sites, which i haven't, so it's not easy to tell if it's dead or alive.

I'm fairly sure the developer is presently working on the seven+ project, so he's probably preoccupied with that. Additionally, he's pretty young and focusing on his senior year of high school.

Hang in there because two of the best ICS devs just tweeted that they are close to a release. See Ben and Jerry's twitter for the real scoop.

I didn't post Ben and Jerry's twitter account because I did not want a bunch of noobs pestering them for an eta. Devs hate that. Just Google "Ben and Jerry ice cream sandwich" and I am sure you will get the proper responses.

I know I was being a joker, but you have to give some folks the benefit of the doubt because they may not live in a country that has the priviledge of receiving Ben and Jerry's. It is available in Costa Rica where I am living, but not in the variety that is available in the US. I knew there would be someone wanting to find them on twitter though. Now we have to see where they live.

ty bkmo.. With BnJ recently just selling their products an hardly known by anyone close to me, its fun. Bet there were quite a few of them who fell for that
but there are other people who dont know bricks about BnJ.. And such statements as from are just insults for people who obviously arent privileged enough to get all the great goods from some whatever locally available tradingmarks as our lil'ol highnmighty Treello
I came in to this topic in hopes of some sort of news on ICS. Now I'm just hungry. :-(

CM9DX2 anticipation

Since nobody has said anything about this milestone yet, dragonzkiller has announced on twitter about 6 hours ago that CM9DX2 alpha might be released either tonight or tomorrow! Big props to him for working so hard on getting ICS onto our phones.
Yeah I'm stoked, thanks @dragonzkiller for all your hard work!

So, I'm curious, what benefits do we get from cm9 as opposed to cm7? Ics is nice, but will there be new features? Or is it just a cleaned up GUI. I know that ics should be able to multi-thread when gingerbread can't, so is that going to happen with our phones? (my guess is not until kexec starts working)

Well as of right now, only dragonzkiller knows how much ICS it will bring us. If its a full CM9 port, Im sure we will have all of the ICS features unless some things dont work. But this is a first Alpha so I'm sure not everything will work. It's just a wait and see right now.

Im sure there will be quite a few things not working at first. He's probably only releasing it because he has the main stuff working like data, wifi, cellular network, hopefully sms. I've been watching some videos on cm9 and saw that some other ports didnt have the camera working.

Best forum around

I have been using this forum for about 3 months now and I would have to say that the Droid X2 forum is one of the best on xda. Developers on this forum have more patience with everybody than I ever could. Whenever a question is asked you can guarantee it will be answered quickly with an explanation that doesn't try to make you look stupid. I have been messing with my friends phone and the forum for his phone, not going to name, is nowhere near as helpful or friendly as this one. In my opinion the attitude of this forum is what draws individuals to learn and progress.

I suppose it is a general rule that low-end/medium-end and non-mainstream phones (phones with problems) generally have more grateful and helpful users and approachable devs and people. I like the Dinc2 forums too...

...he linked to a file that was ripped out of the SDK and uploaded by someone else. He didn't compile it from source or anything. While that's nice of him to link to it here (I guess), it really doesn't belong here.
"Development" forums are pretty self-explanatory; if you made it, it goes here. If you didn't make it, it doesn't go here. We might sometimes be dicks about it but that's usually only because of how confident OPs feel about the fact they're perfectly within their right to put things like this in this section.

Now you're just being outright rude. It's not "your" parade. You didn't make this. You had no part of any bit of it. You for some reason are behaving as though you just brought us kernel source, but in reality, you simply reposted something that many, many people are already aware of and you had posted it in the wrong forum.

Honestly don't think it has to do with age some people are just like that. I can see the confusion between posting here and Dev forum since the original thread was posted in dev forum. Someone corrected OP, now he knows. Lets just move on.
I have had the Google Now for two or three days now and even though it doesn't have Voice, I prefer it over the default search. Before if you wanted to search for something on the web you had to search and then tap on the result and it would open it on your web browser. This actually opens it up right away inline within the app without having to open a web browser. You can then select images, places or your own phone. I think people that are looking away from it simply because it doesn't have voice search should give it another look. Between the cards and the inline searching, it's obviously better.

I think they accomplished what we would all hope for profitability. Doesn't make the tech they put into the now called products they build any less just means they have to play by a different set of rules and the challenge to produce the same quality of work will be impacted. Sure as users we will lose and gain some features. I just hope they don't forget how they got to where they're at and start charging us or worse stop free rom development.
That's what I'm thinking. CM isn't going to be free anymore.

I'm pretty sure its illegal to sell something that's free/open sourced. CM cannot use android and make a Rom and then sell it. Android is open source.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk
True yes but then they are Inc. which means as soon as they are contracted to make a retail phone rom then why would they keep making a free rom. It maybe open source but open source does not mean free. May mean that you can use the codes libs and so on for your own development but if it were free red fedora and Ubuntu wouldn't be making money.
KillerofJoy's i535 Rocking MOAR, and CM 11. Can't be helped, flash junky.
I don't believe it would be a bad idea.
