[APP] Battery Charged Silencer - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Themes and Apps

This application mutes notification sound when battery is fully charged. It can also disable vibrations if selected in options. It mutes before batery is charged (usually 99% ro 100%) - it mutes only notifications not phone calls.
Vibrator supression works with SGS2 and Galaxy Tab 10.1, it is strange that it does not work with other Samsung phones (quite puzzled).

Definitely checking this out, but I think it's kinda sad we have to resort to an app to tell Samsung about this issue, when my old Galaxy S was doing the same crap a year ago and people hated it then! It's like "yes, the device IS fully charged, thanks for telling me in the middle of the night when I have it charging for a reason, and no, I'm not going to take it off the charger just because it's fully charged now!!!"
It's one thing to want to be enviro-friendly, it's another to bug the crap out of you to unplug your device 5 hours before you need it for the day just because it's "done charging...."

Samsung should remove this feature completely. Issue is with some phones, e.g. droid charge, where vibration setting does not work - and this setting in app turns off vibrator :-/ Nevertheless it works for relevant devices which are SGS2, American SGS2 and new Tab.

Any possibility to get this to work on SGS i9000 also?
This "feature" is bugging the crap out of me with 2.3.5 version. Didn't have this problem when I was using Froyo.
edit: Actually, it seems to work in i9000 already. I'll add more information about it in future.

Many thanks for this hilarious application. Finally my tablet don't wake me up at night.
It works also while listening to TuneIn Radio where the tone makes the streaming sound stopped...

I just thanked you because I couldn't possibly agree more with everything you said. I feel like long tossing the tablet everytime it wakes me up! Going to try this app, thanks OP

Thank you so much! I sleep with my Tablet as I use one of the sleep cycle monitor apps and it always wakes me up when it's done charging.

thanks a bunch, I too found the beep rather annoying especially when you're charging off the PC and using the tab to do other functions during work. I'm downloading this fix right now.

Hello Ondrej,
Could you make it compatible with GS2 NFC (GT-O9100P) because I can not acces to your application on Play Store (not compatible...).
Many thanks

In the market it shows that my SGS2 is not compatible, only my tab 10.1 is?!?!

I disabled application for devices for which users wrote it does not work comments.
I can test application only with devices which I have (which is not GT-O9100P)

[Q] SGS1 annoyances in the SGS2?

I'm curious if anyone has had any issues with using bluetooth calling in a car. With my SGS1 (Verizon US Fascinate), when I hang up a call via bluetooth in my car, bluetooth on the phone will crash and disconnect from the car. The phone will freeze for a few minutes, then I have to disable and re-enable bluetooth for it to re-connect to the car. I've talked to a few others who have had the same issue with my same phone, but I guess not many people use this feature or have this bug? I would like to know if anyone with an SGS 2 uses bluetooth calling via car and if they have any issues.
I'm also curious about the minor things Samsung does in their ROMs which never made sense to me. The primary one is the "charge complete" notification. I charge my phone at night while I sleep and in the middle of the night (every night), I get a notification beep telling me the phone is charged. It also turns on the VERY bright AMOLED display which lights up the entire room. Also, my girlfriend's Samsung phone will die in the middle of the night if it's not charged and will blast the shutdown animation and sound VERY loud.
Samsung does little things that are a bit irritating at times and I'm curious if they've improved with their new phone.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help answer these questions.

[Q] Full charge disable hack

Hi all!
One thing drives me nuts about my wife tab - it turns screen on in the middle of the night, I guess when battery is completely charge.
Is there any way to disable or completely remove this behavior?
I use AutomateId to disable sounds, but there is nothing to turn off screen completely.
I checked few custom roms and do not see one fixing this problem. So, any suggestions will be appreciated!

Uh, yeah. That'dprobably do it. ;-)
On a somewhat related note... Is there a danger of overcharging? It always says, "Device fully charged. Please unplug charger." Is it unreasonable to expect smart charge capability?

That is an option, unless you need it on for something else, like an alarm in the morning ;-)
However, sumsung phones developers let say, were able to work around in custom roms, so I was in hope, that may be I missed something...

the message to unplug is purely an energy saving measure. It doesn't mean unplug from the tab, it means unplug from the wall to prevent "vampire power drain".
I agree about it being sodding annoying, though; the point of charging overnight is that it's fully charged come morning not fully charged at, say, 1am and partially drained by morning! /rant

Ah, well... Aside from being somewhat econazi-ish, that makes sense. The "wake-up-on-full-charge" thing doesn't really annoy me too much because it's in the case almost all the time. Closed cover = no problems.

Wow! I thought I was the only one. This drives me nuts! I just thought it was one of those random custom ROM bugs. I'd love a fix because then I could just set my setCPU profile to clock down when the screen is off, but since it comes on, I have to make more complicated settings (or else it overheats inside the case!).
I think I figured it out by a chance...
There setting "Never turn screen off when charging" or something like this. I do not have tab in front of me.
Removed that check and didn't see screen on this night.
If it help to anybody else please post here to confirm.

If you figure out where the setting is will you update this thread? Also, update the OP to make it useful to others (including me!)
settings>applications>developments>stay awake, unmark the box, I hope your problem will end. I unmarked it as soon as I got my P7500 while checking settings and never experience this.
I have this option unchecked as well. I can confirm that the tablet turns on when it is completely charged and then goes back to sleep after a short while again.
Regards
Achim
Yeap, it does that. But like you said it shut the display in a short while, if it the option unchecked.
It's usually disabled in custom roms but if you have the skills and time try to make it yourself, although it's annoying that at 4am you hear the tablet buzzin' you that it's fully charged...
I had the same screen switching on over night problem with stock 3.1 ROM.
The tab switched on automatically, and never switched off.
It happened while it was charged and while was not charged, or after rebooted.
I work in front of the tab, and it switched on more and more often.
Once I set the screen off time to another, shorter value, it solved the problem for that afternoon, but in the morning the screen was on again.
Finally I removed 50 rarely used apps, and the problem is almost fixed. It happened only once since then. I think I permitted some app to administer the device in the menu, and those caused this.

I think my screen problem is also related to the multimedia dock. When the tab is in the dock and the dock is NOT connected to the charger, then few times it switches on the screen after some time.
I put my tab into silent mode and close the cover.
No noise no light.
Alarm still makes noise even in silent.
But there really should be an option to turn this off.

Galaxy S2 is acting weird all of the sudden

For the past week or so I have noticed my S2 getting slower, lower signal, freezing more and other things. I am running stock rooted.
Earlier this week I had no signal and 3 people next to me all three on AT&T had full bars. I used to have the same amount of bars as others on AT&T. When I do have full bars my data is a lot slower than it was when I first got the phone.
My phone has also been crashing and freezing a lot. A few days ago I would have to reset my phone about every 30 minutes when listing to music on both Amazon MP3 and the stock music app. Both would freeze, my screen would go black and I could not do anything.
Over the past two weeks or so I have had to reset my phone several times because the touch buttons stopped working.
I also have had a new voice mail notification for over 2 weeks but I do not have a new one.
Right now if I plug my S2 into my computer nothing happens, no charge, no nothing. When it used to work I never had an option for mass storage/kies, is this normal?
I'm sure I have had other glitches but that's all I can think of right now.
That my friend, is why you shouldn't drop your phone. It's hard on em...
Lol JK..

I had some (but not all) of those issues on my captivate when my sim card was bad. If a flash to stock doesn't help go to an att store and swap Sims, next stop warranty replacent.

Yep warranty is the route i would go
Do I need to unroot for a warranty replacement or will they not care?
I think the consensus is, they won't notice anything other than the water indicators, or physical damage. But, with it only taking a moment to do its worth the effort in the off chance they check and charge you full retail for the phone.

Well, I guess I will try a reflash of stock first.
Just an hour ago my phone keeps thinking it is charging in a dock. The plug in noise plays, the battery meter changes to charging and my clock app opens. After like 5 seconds it realizes it is not in a dock.

Any debris stuck in the charge port? Sounds like warranty replacement is going to be your route. When you combine all those issues, its hard to see it any other solution.

Yep, starting to sound similar to myself and several others here who had USB port hardware failures. Warranty replacement.

I'm just going to get a warranty replacement. Now the touch screen is barley working. Why is everything going wrong all of the sudden? Perfect phone for like 3 months then boom everything goes bad.
Yep
This definitely sounds like the USB port gone funky.
Mine would randomly wake itself up. Trigger driving mode and v-lingo by itself. Think the the PC cable was plugging itself in an out.
Hard crash while sleeping which required the very long power button press to wake back up.
Initially they wanted me to try a new battery. That didn't work so now I have a 2nd battery and a new GS2.
Check my thread in the Q&A section.
I returned to stock. Decremented the flash count. And did a complete wipe. That was enough to stop the crashes but not the random USB wakes.

What are the chances I will have 2.3.6 on my replacement?
EDIT: Ok there has to be something more than just a USB jack problem. I just unlocked my phone and the screen was upside down and full brightness then froze. Had to pull the battery and reboot.
Just woke up late to find that my phone can not charge and was using its last bit of battery power to put it self in a endless boot loop. Turns on, battery low notification, turns off, turns on, battery low notification, turns off, and so on. Im assuming there is no way to back up my apps and run root at this point? haha
My automatic Titanium backup apparently saved to the phone and not SD card. How can I get it off the phone if the phone can't boot?
Buy an external battery charger or get the phone into usb download mode and leave it there for an hour or 2 to charge. (with it connected to your pc)

The phone I received at the Support Center had 2.3.4.
On the drive home from the store, 2.3.6 put itself onto the brand new phone.
Personally, I'd AVOID 2.3.4 until the BlueTooth Keyboard issue is resolved.
That is unless you'll never need BlueTooth HID.
I can also say for sure that 2.3.6 (edit was 2.3.4) makes ROM swaps and rooting trickier in general.
My 2 cents.

Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
Sorry yes. I would avoid 2.3.6.
I'd go so far as to say, freeze / disable the OTA and stay on 2.3.4 until the consensus determines that the waters are safe again. With the inclusion of killing my bluetooth keyboard, I did not notice an gains in my normal usage.
I have felt more issues on 2.3.6, than I had on 2.3.4.
2.3.4 seemed easier to root. ROM's seemed easier to flash, etc.
Now, I did pony up for the physical jig, the flash counter was never a concern of mine.
Mobile Odin appears to be a very mice addition to our tool list.
I wish I understood the program more intimately. Perhaps I've missed a usage guide along the way. Ulitimately I used it to load CWM. After that, its wasj ust ClockWorkMod to load another ROM.
Replacement just arrived. Time to root and titanium backup. Hopefully AT&T doesn't catch the root on my old phone.
Also, my Dad's S2 is ready for the 2.3.6 update and keeps telling him to update. He does not want me too root his phone and freeze the update, is there another way to stop it?

ICS Full Battery Notification

Hey anyone not getting a notifcation sound upon charge complete with the ICS LPQ? It's pretty annoying as I don't like to leave my phone overcharging the sound used to be very loud and beepy.
Mine vibrates at 100%, won't try it until I have to charge my phone again tonight but maybe if you uncheck the vibrate & ring option in the settings this might solve the problem.
I've never used vibrate only regular ringer and it made a noise when it not was done charging I don't know what to do to get it back now.
This is a serious issue no one is having the same problem? Yesterday I left my phone charging for 10 hours because I forgot about it! I need my beepy full charge sound.

No, he wants the notification sound. He doesn't want it removed.:what:
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
Mine has stopped doing it too, so it looks like they've removed it - still get the icon in the notification bar that it's full though
Personally I'm glad it's gone - used to hate it going off just as I was going to sleep, plus the battery pack/case thing that Samsung sell can now be used without the sound continually going off as it reaches 100% during use
Yes mine used to beep before ICS, although it still vibrates to let me know it's completed charging.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
How can I see, someone is liked when battery notification wake up you on 2 am
First time I hear about somebody liking that bloody battery chirp and yes, it's gone in ICS builds. There is no explicit setting to enable/disable the battery charge notification, as it's triggered by the framework (at least that's how it was in Gingerbread).
You could try decompiling SystemUI and adding a notification trigger in addFullChargeNotification ... but it's much more trouble than it's worth. Plus, Samsung probably had a valid reason to remove it.
Oh wow I'm very sad to see this go. The sound is good for me because I charge my phone during the day time while I'm doing stuff on my PC and if I start watching movies or games and the beep doesn't go off I might leave it plugged in for a long time.
I'm not sure about decompiling and stuff is anyone able to do this for me? I'd be very grateful!
Well, it's much easier removing stuff than adding it, unfortunately. If it makes you feel better, it doesn't hurt at all to leave your phone plugged in even after it's charged; the battery management routines will let it discharge up to 90-92% and recharge it again when it's full in order to preserve the battery's condition.
The disconnect notification is mostly there due to environmental laws being pushed for energy conservation, so you don't leave your charger plugged in
BTW, Battery Monitor Widget has the option to notify you when the battery is charged. Pro version is well worth the money IMHO.
I confirm that it's still not fixed in LP3. I also miss the sound very much. What I Donny follow is that the sound is still present in three system/media/audio/ui - indicating this could be an overlook? I'd much rather the notification was played by TouchWiz, vibration sends useless to me.Also as pointed out, it makes sense to leave the notification since for those who don't like it, there are options like charging in silent mode or completely removing the sound, while the other way round us not easy.
If Samsung doesn't add this back, the easiest way to fix this would be through an app. I might write one someday... When I get some free time.

Panic...

I need a cell phone and I thoroughly enjoy taking photos with my phone. The Sony Xperia 5 II, and other Experia with Photo Pro, are unique in the world of camera phones. Yesterday, around 2 o'clock, my Xperia 5 II bricked. It wouldn't turn on. Connected to a charger the red LED light didn't come on and the phone didn't charge. I panicked at the thought of no cell phone and started thinking of alternatives. They're all pretty much the same for me until we get to the camera.
I don't do social media, I've never zoomed, I don't play games but Calendar, Keep, Maps, Photos, GMail, and messages are used by me every single day. My phone tells me when your birthday is, when my phone bill is due to be paid, and when it's time to take my pills. First thing in the morning I read the headlines on my phone. Depressing.
All cell phones do all these thing pretty much the same.
But, the cameras are different. I am hooked on the shutter button on my Xperia 5 II and the volume button used to do digital zoom. I love Photo Pro which moves the operation to something other than excellent point-and-shoot. I've had Pixels and Xiaomi and Huawei but I'm hooked on Sony Xperia with Photo Pro.
I don't know why my Sony Xperia 5 II bricked and I don't know why it came back to life. I've been checking frequently to see if an app or an update is draining the battery and that's negative. So, life goes on. I'm hoping the Xperia 5 III comes out soon enough that my sister can bring me one.
What OS version?
Any other odd behavior?
Version 92.0.4515.157 (Official Build) (64-bit)
No other oddities. I've been checking frequently to see if something is draining the battery and so far it's not.
Wait, wrong version.
Android 11
Build Number 58.1.A.5.280
Any chance it could have got infected by a rootkit?
If so factory reset.
Otherwise probably hardware.
The reset will sort it out more than likely if not hardware.
Regardless backup all critical data redundantly to at least 2 hdds now... while you still can.
Okay, my guess now that the panic has passed. My normal routine is to charge my phone to 80% before bed and then to power down. In the morning, I turn on the phone. Perhaps once a month I forget my routine. If I forgot and the phone had power it could have downloaded an update that somehow drained the battery. That would have made the battery drain to zero around mid-morning.
I downloaded and read the manual for the 5 II and it said that if the battery drains to zero, plugging it in will not do anything for around ten minutes. That would explain the LED not lighting up when I plugged in the phone. Then, when it sat idle for the next night the battery percolated a bit and got enough power to show the "Battery Zero" icon when I picked it up and pressed the power button. But, as the manual said, the LED didn't come on for a while.
Whatever it was, everyone is working fine now. I wish all hysterical panics could be solved so easily.
Yay!
Consider disabling auto updates before it does toast your phone...
I will when I read the manual again and find out where that is. I did a search in "settings" for "auto" and got nothing that gives an option of auto-update or manual.

I use Package Disabler. Carrier phones don't give you that options. It can be killed with a adb edit but it's a pain to reenable then if you want it.
Package Disabler lets you easily disable apks on the fly. Useful for troubleshooting too. It will also completely clear apk data leaving no null marks unlike doing it in settings.
Home - Package Disabler
The only NON-root solution that let’s you disable any unwanted packages that come pre-installed / installed with your phone / tablet.
