Gemini App Manager - Vibrant Themes and Apps

I just found this app through Amazon called Gemini App Manager and I love it. It's like a titanium backup in a way because it can backup apps and even block them for rooted users. It has a cache cleaner, tells you all the permissions an app user uses by using symbols by each app and more. It's great so far and best of all it's free. I have no affiliation with it, I just thought I would share because I like it so much. Give it a try.

Its in the market too.
Sent from my Vibrant on Ultimate 2.2.1

Actually, I downloaded it from the market because it wasn't working from Amazon. I probably should have put that in the OP. But thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks, I guess I'll give it a try

I can't download it. using CM7 market 3.1.3
Not available in turkiye, i tried different market enablers, clearing the market data none of them worked. But i will find a way to get the app.
It is too bad, we can't reach all apps in the market without tricks.

That's a major bummer. I will try to post the apk if I get the chance.

For some reason I can't get adb working on my laptop so I won't be able to get the apk off my phone. Maybe if someone else had they could post it. Sorry.

In my experience, if you can just uninstall the update, do that. If you can't, pushing the old market usually doesn't fix it.
There is a thread on here that shows you some options to clear that should make it work.

Marketplace APK

I am running Nookie Froyo off the card, but using an old marketplace that is missing tons of apps. Therefore, I want to install the new marketplace. I DID a search, but couldn't find the APK file. Can anyone post the new marketplace APK? Will it work since I already have an older verison of market running?

This worked for me. I just installed it over the old market, but that was on eclair. Not sure how it will work on nookie.

Did you try uninstalling the old market first? That might do the trick. I don't want to lead you down the wrong path though. I don't use nookie. Too much is screwy. I am currently playing with Honeycomb, but I probably won't take another ROM too serious until we get Cyanogen.

Try cancelling and reinstalling the download, has been known to happen. Not sure if its really a problem with the nook or just a problem in general with the market

+1 for ad-free...BUT with the release of the paid versions of Angry Birds it's not as important as it was to me, but still great for being able to put the Flash add-on to "always on" and not have to worry about Flash ads in the browser.

Very true, although I kinda hate killing ads in free apps. I prefer paid versions so we can be ad free and support the developer at the same time.. Angry Birds was an exception because I always get distracted by the darn ads being in the same area as the target.

[Q] Is there a 'market enabler' for the new market?

Hi, so I have Market Enabler installed and for some reason it doesn't seem to work on the new market. Also, cf3d's 'open market' seem to have no effect either.
Is something broken? Anyone knows of a market enabler that works with the new market? Thank you!
We need a market enabler that works with 3.0.27
It will be made, its just a matter of time. Im very interested in this too, I had to rollback to the old market because of this.

Now I return to this version of Market which is fully compatible with Market Enabler!
Tested in a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000.
Yes we know it works with the old market. What we need is a market enabler for the 3.0.27 version of the market.

I had to uninstall the market update and MarketAccess works as advertised.

This thread should probably be in the general section rather than under SGS II.
I am also using the old market but instead of using an APK I simply uninstalled the update for market from 'manage applications' to go to the old market. Also had to uninstall the market updater system app using Titanium otherwise it updates automatically. Very irritating.
+1 for a solution for the new market since I have to do this every time I change ROMs (which is often). However, the new market is ugly as anything. The waste of screen real estate is appalling!

I can't find Market Access on the market...
Maybe google removed it from the market...?

[Solved] Cannot purchase app because market thinks I already have it.

I "acquired" an apk for an app and now I'd like to buy it but the market only gives me an option to update the app and when I do it tells me that I haven't bought it.
I've tried uninstaling, clearing market cache, installing through online market, delinking from market in tb but nothing works.
Any ideas on how I can make the market forget that I ever had this app?
You said you tried uninstalling; what did you uninstall? The market or the app?
I've got the same problem. Installed one of Getjar's gold apps (free apps that are paid on the market). Got fed up of it sitting there in the Android Market's updates list (it seems not all developers bother pushing updates to getjar, and you still have to manually redownload to see if there's an update) but I can't get the Market to let me buy it - it seems to have latched on to the getjar version.
When I uninstall the app, it shows up in the market as purchased, but attempting to download fails the additional checks. Since it thinks its already purchased, I can't buy it.
I tried clearing the market data and cache, but that doesn't make a difference
Try installing the app again and clearing the data for that app and then uninstall .. Also check your sd card to see if you have app data on there

Both. First it was the app and now I've update market too. It's definitely a market issue as when I check it out online it shows as "purchased".
I just found a solution - find the app on the web marketplace, and it'll let you buy it there, then the phone will happily update.

The app shows up with "purchased " next to it. I then click on that followed by Install but then a toast message appears saying that it's not been bought.
In the web market it also says purchased although that's where I'm going to dig around next.

That's the problem - when an item needs to be updated in the market you only get options to Open and Update rather than Open and Uninstall. I could try to get the "acquired" version update and then uninstall that I suppose.

Yes you could. Also, you don't always get Open and Update. Sometimes you may see it say Update and Uninstall and if you click update and it fails (for some reason), then it changes to Open and Update.
Don't uninstall from the market use your stock app manager or titanium backup if you have it but first clear all traces of the app your trying to un install.. Cuz their may be some kind of cookie/data Installed that is telling the market you already have it

Hi,
great to hear that you found a solution. I have the same problem here. Can you provide a download link to the old Market version you used?
Thanks a lot
Wrapp
I had the same problem and this is what I ended up doing.
Under Manage Applications/all
clear data and uninstall updates for market
clear data for download manager
Now I opened market and had the old/original market back, before it updated again I searched for the app that was bugged and it let me purchase/install it on the old market. A minute later the market was auto updated. Not sure what steps were actually needed but this is what worked for me. GL

Just install the "acquired" version, then goto Market and un-install it. After that the market will show an option to purchase.
I had the same problem. I installed version2.2.6 of the market. and searched quickly for the app that said purchased before the market updated automatically. It let me purchase it. Problem Solved. I would post the link, but I don't have enough posts here.
