Just wondering, how do I take a screenshot without using a camera? The apps on the market say I need root.

Don't we have built in feature to TAKE SCREENSHOT in SONY S??

The Screenshot feature was built into the Samsung touchwiz launcher on the Galaxy Tab 10.1. There isnt one on the Tablet S yet.

Yeah, its a 10.1 thing. I'd hit that button far too much on accident, it seems silly to have it so available. I'm glad I traded my Galaxy for the Tablet S, the quick launch icons at the top are FAR more useful.

Managed to get spb shell in stalled yesterday.It was just for a few minutes before I got the message telling me that it was not registered but it looked awesome and was working flawlessly.

What's the simplest way to get a landscape picture to show completely as a wallpaper? Have tried a few on the tablet wesites but you're always asked to crop it using gallery or quickpic (if installed)
Can you please let me know a simple way to do this, or the resolution I need to alter pictures to, in order to make them fit the screen nicely?

There are many threads about getting wallpapers to fit the tablet standard (1200x800) resolution. Especially, in the Xoom forums. Also, there's an app in the market called 'droidiris', which has many great hd wallpapers for tablets. Check it out! And 'all wallpapers' is good too. Just google like "android tablet wallpaper format", or something. I can't remember the 'tricks' off hand.

You mean the NEWS,SOCIAL,GAMING,MEDIA text? I use 'Minimalistic Text' widget with static text on each screen.

How did you get GO Launcher EX on your sony tablet? Mine doesn't show up in the market or won't let me install it from my browser market...
Awesome screens, I'd like to post mine too. Can someone write a tutorial or do a video tutorial on how to take screenshots on the sony tablet s? I'm a newbie to android, and I've tried some screen shot app at the martket and doesn't work.

Fix For Cropping: Here is the best solution for that problem. Download Wallpaper Wizardrii and install it. Open the app and choose the menu button at the bottom. Select "No Scroll" and exit to your home screen. Now you will be able to crop most of the picture so Batman and Mario's heads are cut off for example. The only downside is that panning will be disabled. This is all we can do until Google comes out with a better solution.
Today I spent a long time trying to make my wallpapers not look like **** on this tablet and got pretty frustrated. After doing some Googling, I discovered you can crop pictures to 1920x1408 for the best possible look in both landscape AND portrait. I'd like to share some of my cropped wallpapers I picked up from Wallbase.net now. I'll continue to add more, too. These work very nicely with the default wallpaper setter. Download from the link. Not the pics! Enjoy!

I still get the option to crop :/ - I thought I could use the entire pic.
Unfortunately, the only way that would work is if you were okay with Portrait looking all jacked up.
EDIT: I found a quick solution that works with all these wallpapers. I'll add the fix to the OP.

Third Wallpaper Pack. I tried going with 1920x1600 instead and it looks like it works out better because you now have the option to choose more of the top of the picture or bottom. Hope you like them.

All you have to do is place them on your tab, hold down on the the home screen and choose Wallpapers. Then choose Galley. Now pick the wallpaper you'd like to set.

Beautiful Weather Super Tablet widget with the MiuiSplit for the clock skin and Oxygen_HD for the weather skin. Pulse for the new widgets.
Anybody notice that wallpapers always look crap even when you set a wallpaper from a high res image ? i wonder if its only a problem with me.
How are you guys able to change or remove the dock?

I think it's because of how Android is cropping them. You know, for when the wallpaper slides a little when you change homescreens?
It's annoying (especially after getting used to the nice crisp wallpapers when using stock webOS), but I've found a few that I use where it doesn't look so bad. I wonder if those other tablets that use gingerbread have the same problem? All the more reason to use plenty of widgets I suppose.

I use a live wallpaper called "MultiPicture", it allows you to have a different wallpaper or set of wallpapers for each home screen if you want or you could just go with one static image for all, it also has great scaling options.

I use Launcher Pro, you can just press and hold on the dock shortcut you want to get rid of and choose "change shortcut" and then choose "blank".

Thanks for the transformerbread recommendation. I love the size of the soft keys. I had been using honeybread, but that has issues with the status bar. The one thing that's really bothering me is the battery icon goes right up to the very edge of the black status bar. I've attached some screenshots of my homescreen.

Hi, I re-sized a lot of wallpapers I had collected from all over the place, and figured I share them. Most are 1440x2560 or 720x1280. There is all kinds of different ones, like nature, abstract, animals, and Abe Lincoln holding a M16 and the Declaration of Independence while riding a grizzly bear. You know nice stuff.
Anyways I'll keep adding more and more over time. Please feel free to post your own wallpapers because I'm always looking for new ones to add to the collection. Thanks

How do I set these in my wallpaper gallery in the system? When I set as wallpapers from my photo gallery, I have to pick a portion of the pic to set it. I want the full pic as is. Am I even making any sense? Lol

Yeah I see exactly what your saying, I notice that some launchers make you choose like a square shape, but GoLauncher and most of the ICS ROMS I've use lets you chose the actually screen shape, like in the picture. You could use GoLauncher (or most other launchers) to set the wallpaper. I'll see if I can figure out how to put them directly in the wallpaper chooser in Sense, I have desensed my ROM so I'll just flash a Sense ROM and see how that works.

I use a live wallpaper called MultiPicture Live Wallpaper... It allows a single image or a gallery of them. When you select the picture, it does a better job of fitting the image onto the screen. With 720x1280 images it uses the whole image.

Oh they are from all over the place, google images, ROMS, wallpaper websites, CG websites, and many many more.
Ok so I put them on Dropbox, sorry no more bulk downloads for a while until I can find somewhere to host those size files. Dropbox does have a really nice gallery UI though. Enjoy

Not necessarily, this has been a long standing issue because it has to be scrollable and work portrait/landscape, so it's at least screen size, and then some.
I've never been sure how exactly to work it out, but I'll be running Apex Pro anyway once I get it, just until ParanoidAndroid ROM joins the show.

Once I have the device in my hands, I'll look at creating an app. I'll have it use a web service for fetching wallpapers so we can keep it updated.
As for my app development knowledge, I do it for a living professionally, so hopefully I know a bit.

Yeh, like I said though, don't count on wallpapers being the size of the display, they have to scroll in the launcher and support portrait orientation.
That said, I got impatient and started writing that wallpaper app I mentioned

I created a template that matches the selection you're shown when you select an image from the gallery and choose to make it the wallpaper.
Resolution should be 3966x2560 for it to work full in landscape and portrait without showing any black bars.
I'll be uploading some of my wallpapers once I've had a chance to find some decent source material at this resolution.

I assume it will do. I just bought this one from here for UK - not sure if USA model though, might be EU? https://www.districtelectricals.co....ch-256gb-tablet-5g-unlocked-mystic-black.html maybe you'd be better getting it from UK site. You might have custom charges to pay from USA and it might take a while to arrive. This is the 5G version I got. Only 'problem' is that the serial number on the back is partly scratched off.
Samsung really put limited wallpapers on the s7+ does anyone know of a good Samsung wallpaper app ? The ones they put for the lockscreen are beautiful but I can't figure out how to make them my home screen wallpapers

Try the Resplash app. I've gotten several good ones from there. Also Zedge & Pinterest. And various 4k wallpaper apps
I can't see any pictures in this thread.
I'm still waiting for my s7+ but I saw on one review on youtube there's an option to automatically change the wallpaper even on every device wakeup....I think it's under "wallpaper services" setting.

This is my Set up
The Folder have covers. It's show the First app in the Folder and if you touch it, it open the first app. If you swip the icon up you get in the Folder.

I just received my T870 4 days ago and love it. I use Nova Laucher for my Home Screen and default. I find it much more customizeable and it suits the way I use my tablet.
The background photo I captured with my DSLR of 14,255 ft Longs Peak in Colorado. The view is from my neighborhood which is at 5,034 ft above sea level. The peak is 35 miles away. There's a lot to look up to around here.

Yes it's called "Dynamic Lockscreen".

I have Nova on my phone so I stuck with the stock UI for my tablet with Good Lock add-ons.

Yeah, i was intrigued by the lockscreen wallpapers as well. i can't imagine why they didn't allow the same for the background.
Definitly gonna try Resplash though.
Edit: Resplash sucks... Wen't with the Reddit Wallpaper app...
