brightness is automatically adjusted using the light sensor, which you have above the display this is for saving battery

when your battery low , the brightness get low

Thanks everyone will give +1 when on pc.^_^

If you walk into a dark room, auto-brightness will turn the screen brightness down so you don't strain your eyes unnecessarily. If you got outside on a sunny day, it will turn the screen brightness up to help you see it better.

[Q] Voodoo Color

If the kernel you use supports voodoo color does it work automatically? Or do you need support apps like for BLN or voodoo sound?
Voodoo color works at 100% brightness only
Do I just blast the brightness and it works?

Do people know pressing the notification bar sets the brightness?
Left is lowest middle is middle and right is highest, so when I don't use it,
I put it in lowest and when I do, I put it highest for better quality.

That is such an awesome feature! Just slide your finger across the status bar left or right and voila!
Rock on!

That is pretty cool, they also make widgets that you can quickly control your brightness. The one I use is made by curvefish.
The above works as long as you have auto-adjust brightness turned off.
Just wanted to save a few it doesn't work on my phone posts.

Camera flash issue

When I take night time photos, the flash lights up the subject really well but the resulting photo is a bit too dark.
Does anyone have any tips for me on getting a brighter photo when using the flash?
Menu> exposure value> turn it up and hold your phone steady
Otherwise nothing you can do, human eye perceives light on a logrithmic scale while sensor cannot, so what looks bright to us is not to the camera.
Ok, I will give it a go.
Thanks mate

I get the same but its because I use auto brightness. Because brightness is low during night pics I just increase it and the pics look great.

Are you talking about the screen auto brightness or a camera setting?

[Q] Automatic brightness in ICS

Automatic brightness seems to not be working very well in ICS - randomly adjusts instead of constantly. Anyone else?

Same thing here. Noticed the display is taking up a lot more battery than it did in Gingerbread.
I've never really used automatic brightness. It still uses too much battery for my liking. I always keep it set to like 15-20%

With how easy it is to adjust using the notification bar, I've never used automatic on any of my phones.

Automatic Brightness
I use a handy little brightness widget on my home screen, and set it to 25%
it has several presets, including automatic.

Is there a way to scale factory auto brightness?

As the title says. I would like to scale auto brightness so it isn't so bright when using the phone in the dark. I was using an app but you have to turn it on for every reboot.

I have exactly the same problem, but lux autobrightness solves that for me. only problem is that if u want it to auto start, u have to enable it to be in persistent mode, which leaves an icon in your status bar. other than that, i am very pleased with the way it works,
Ya auto lux from the market works the best, i was very skeptical about an app from the market to control brightness but it really works good, the factory auto setup is TERRIBLE.
Try AutoLux it works very good.

Display brightness

Hi everyone!
Got yesterday my Z2 from Taiwan, awaited it so much time, and finally got it!
But seems like lcd brightness not such bright as i wish to be. Don't you think so? Or maybe lcd brightness on your z2 satisfied you at all?

I agree it's not bright enough especially on auto brightness. I set the bar all the way to the brightest and it's reasonable only. But if set manually then it is definitely bright enough
Can anyone confirm how bright the display really is? Nits? I think brightness is an important aspect.

Can't give you nits but it's definitely bright enough for me. Also seems whiter than Z1.

I thought the brightness was not bright enough from the videos.
Brightness is more than enough (enough to hurt your eyes ) if you turn off auto and slide the bar all the way up.
