LED notification - HTC EVO 3D

Hi there,
Is there an app for the LED notification to continuosly blink when I get an email, twitter updates, missed calls, etc.? I searched the market place and couldn't find any apps that will do this. There's a missed call app, but that's not what I'm looking for.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Give more info, and are you rooted, on my stock rom I was able to control the led to what ever time I wanted it on. It's on settings and display I believe, I don't really remember what it was cuz I haven't been on stock for awhile now. You don't need an app for led lights

No my phone is not rooted. I just got the phone with Rogers. I went to settings and display and the only options I have are to select which events I want the led lights to flash. There's no option to flash indefinitely.

I have searched the forums and there doesn't seem to be a solution to my question. I have tried many led notification apps, most of them are for missed calls, sms, etc. But even with those reminders, the LED doesn't stay on. Without rooting the phone, is there an app that will leave the LED light blinking when there's missed events?
I have tried:
Missed call - doesn't stay blinking for more than 5 mins
handscent sms
easy reminder - deosn't stay blinking for more than 5 mins
light flow - phone needs to be rooted
There's others I have tried but they were for changing the led light which I found out it doesn't work.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

[Q] Using tasker to turn off LED light?

So I am wondering if there is a way to turn off the LED lights within Tasker? I have a night profile where it turns down all the sounds, vibrations, etc etc but noticed last night that the LED light was flashing for some emails I had come in. I had a look in the tasker settings but I couldn't see any that would disable the LED?
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas?
OK, I shall keep up this conversation with myself (the voices in my head make me feel like it's a normal conversation with others though ). I found the setting in tasker to turn off the led - it's in the audio section and it's called 'notification pulse'. In my night profile I have now set that to 'off' but it made no difference and any emails during the night had the led flashing
You can use Light Flow to disable notifications at a certain time, plus you can do a lot of customisation.
You need root.

I reckon, you don't need root w light flow, but other than that bortak is absolutely right. Light flow does all that and perfectly.
Yes, you are totally right. I have installed and uninstalled lightflow a few times already. While it does do that for me, it's just not quite working right. I kept on having a notification light flashing after dismissing or viewing a notification. It just wouldn't stop flashing. That was bugging me more than the extra features I got out of the app, so I've removed it again.

this is because you havemt set the "clear notification style" parameter. set it to 'screen on'. so that once you wake up the screen al notifications are cleared and u wont see that blink again. Normally it is set to 'app entered', where you have to go to the app (or the phone and click on the missed call etc). set it to what I told to all your notifications.
Thanks. I'll take another look at that. I thought I had it set that way but wouldn't be surprised to see I was wrong. I do think that I'd tried entering the app as well when it wouldn't clear, and still wouldn't.
Hi!
Im searching nearly same. Im looking for a solution to switch off and switch on this notofication Led like i want by a tasker or by a widget 1 click.
I dont really like the app light flow.
Tasker is audio>notification pulse

Thanks rootSU. I had found that, but it doesn't seem to be working on the S3. I found the tasker google group and some similar problems exist there. One is having the same problem as me, and another I think is trying to turn the led on but it's not working; all S3's. Maybe tasker isn't optomised for this on the s3 yet?
I've found lightflow to be hit or miss. Sometimes the led keeps flashing even when the notification is dismissed (have checked my settings, even tried different ones), and the day before flashing for sms's stopped working. Even a reboot didn't fix it. So, I lived without the led's on my S1 and I'll do the same here. I had them on last night and kept waking to a notification of some kind and found that too annoying.
Thanks for the help and suggestions guys. Appreciate it.
Just a widget 1 click to switch would be perfect for me.

I think it works for me but not entirely. That ecpksind why the missus woke me up the other night to complain about the led. Hope it's fixed soon.
Once fixed Fred, you can create a widget in tasker

Don't suppose anyone's come up with any more ideas about this? I have emailed the tasker developers and I don't think they were 100% sure, but didn't think the notification pulse setting was for disabling the led's completely. I still try playing with lightflow every now and then, but the little bugs I have (mostly sms notification led not dismissing without reboot or entering lf app (only thing that works is having manual dismissal but it's a pain)) are still present for me. I also tried it with handcent but was getting no led notifications.
Hey guys,
I figured out a fix for the Verizon Galaxy S3. I know there are differences between the way the international version and US versions handle the notification light, but it might at least give you guys a starting point. You do need root.

need help jellyverse rom v0.3 i get notified even after turning off the led in the settings it blinks blue not big of a deal but does seem to drain battery after a few hours
Has anyone found a way to do this yet? Notification Pulse doesn't work, at least on the SGS3. I have tried LightFlow in the past, I found it buggy and uninstalled it.
I've been using light manager to manager my led for a while now. Doesn't have the talkback issues I had with lightflow, and free.

Flashing Blue LED

Does anyone know what the flashing blue LED means? And is there a way to disable it, at night it can be very bright!
Paul
Probably some useful info in the user guide http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/GT-I9300MBASWC-downloads?isManualDownload=true

Nope, nothing in the manual that refers to the Blue Flashing LED.
Paul
Do you have anything enabled in the LED light settings that would explain why it's flashing?

Please read again.
Settings -> LED Settings
Red is low battery and/or charging
Green is fully charged
Flashing blue means there is a notification of some sort.
Thanks Lenny,
The manual does not help:
●● Missed event: Set to turn on the service light when you have missed calls, messages, or notifications.
Doesnt say "Blue" anywhere so not exactly easy to find!
Paul
It's blue for every app notification unless you have light flow installed so you'll have to work out which app is notifying you
Usually I've forgotten to read an email or text message though - annoying though when you can't track it down

Trying light flow as that does exactly what I require.
Thanks very much.
Paul
I use calendar snooze for my appointment reminders, and I set it to flash red for them.
I have been looking in Tasker if there is a setting there to turn reminders off while my 'night' setting is active. I also find them annoying during the night, but haven't been able to find a setting there yet. Anyone got any ideas?
what has to be done or there's an app that's already out, the led has to flash for a certain time and it turns off. constant flashing will piss people off and may possibly kill the battery

If you really think about it though, that flashing light probably consumes less battery then you having to turn on the screen to see if you have a new notification that you might have missed. Even if your screen is on for 5 seconds it is still waking up the phone and causing it time for it to fall back into sleep.

Try lightflow, but i don't know if you can turn off all the notification
I use the App Light flow it is free and works awesome you can edit all your leds. So i hope that helps and works great for you.
Thank you all for the light flow app I think I can make it work for my needs. I knew the Razr community would have the answer.

Why the hell you would like to disable led? I owned/own Droid Charge and it does not have an led. It is so annoying if I missed a call it will not notify me. If I have an email it will not notify me(assuming that I missed buzz or the tone). I do not want to look at my phone every 5min wondering if I got emails.

Ours is not to question.
It's the OPs decision on how the OP wants to live the RAZR experience.
Sort of like the same difference between those that love cluttered home screens, and those that have nothing on them.
TL;DR? To each their own.

Yep. I use Light Flow to kill the notification light at night. I sleep with my razr on the night stand beside my bed and the flashing light wakes my wife up if I get a message or something at night. So I definitely see a benefit to being able to kill them altogether.
Just turn the phone and lay our on its screen. LED is facing down and shouldn't be noticed much, if at all. i do that when i have to have my phone with me at night.

i tried lightflow on my 2.3.6 and it turned of all notification lights except battery charging. i had to uninstall to get my blinks back. what was i doing wrong?

LED notification is very broken in this phone

Someone recently posted the led control code is wrong in the phone, and it sure shows. In any app other than stock ones, the led color is wrong and it stays solid instead of blinking. Really getting annoying.
why is it wrong? it works fine with stock maybe its just different because its a full spectrum led?

Its sorta true. I mean my GO SMS PRO just stays solid tricolor! I don't mind it really at the moment. When light flow is fix I will prolly play around with that.
I don't think its wrong or broken...its a new phone, new API.
I think applications just aren't coded to make the proper calls to make this work properly.
Ever see updates from the Play store that says "Now working on Motorola Droid 3" etc...?
My guess is we just have to wait for something like that for our phones.
In the mean time, I do agree that it is annoying that our LEDs won't blink properly, or that my notification light has to be yellow, or purple for text messages, haha.
Mine is not even working at all when I receive a notification or text <_<. It only turns on when I'm charging the phone

Go to Settings - LED indicator and check "Missed event"
So let's just forget about 3rd party apps for a sec, I'm sure they'll update eventually (Handcent SMS, FB etc... would be nice to pic the color and blink for each).
What about stock apps and functionality, am I correct in assuming that even using the stock SMS, email, and phone apps that you cannot customize the LED color or have it blink?

You can use 3rd party apps, like go sms to change the color, but its broken. I have a thread floating here that lists what color you 'choose' and what color is actually shown on the device.

GoSMS notifications are definitely solid. I just keep emailing them and asking them to update for the U.S. versions of the GS3.
LED notifications are fine on the International version.

Is this possible? LED notification question.

I would ONLY like the LED notification to light up Red when charging or turn Green when the battery is fully. I cant stand the other LED notifications blinking especially at night, it bugs the crap outta me plus I used AOD so I don't need the LED notification also. Anyway to do this? Thanks.
you could try the Light Manager app in play store, ive been using it since march and plenty of options for you to turn off mail, messages, calls mms etc i really enjoy the app and it works beautifully

I feel the same. What I did was just block notification access to the light from apps that I don't want to know about, like email. I get email all the time, I don't need a light to blink to tell me I have new emails. So I blocked the notification light access to email.

I will try this app, but the thought of having another app in the background always running makes me cringe.

How exactly do you block the notification light access to certain apps? Or do you mean you can just block that one notification from your certain email app?
