Can't we have more Venue threads? I just bought min and I absolutely love it. - Dell Venue

It is better than that one who most not me named cough* OX couch OX

I have a Streak 5 and just recently bought a Venue for my wife. I'm thinking of trading mine in on one. I love her Venue!

Finally rooted
I finally rooted my Venue, now for Gingerbread! That and accessories which are not overpriced would be nice.

Fingers Crossed
I just picked up a refurb Venue from Dell today for $180. My IPhone 3gs died and SquareTrade opted to pay me off! I'd put a WM 6.5 custom rom on my old BlackJack II, but I have not idea how I ever tolerated that phone. I figured this was the cheapest way to try out Android and not have to renew my AT&T contract. Even if Apple released the I5 tomorrow, I never buy the 1st round of any of their products! People seem to love or hate this phone, but with a year exchange warranty I can't go wrong. Or...they'll have it back within the 21 day limit for returns!

Rooted Eris 4 Sale

I have a rooted Eris im selling, im getting a iphone instead. It's going up for sale on the 17th if anyone wants it im selling it for 250$ it comes with two chargers and 2 batterys is in mint condition (4 weeks old) Screen protector has been on it since day 1. If no one wants it, its going on ebay for the same price. I figure I would offer it up on here as all the users here appreciate root and understand its hard to comeby now. I will only accept paypal from a verified user/account and shipping address must match and be verified. If your uncomfortable with using paypal only, I will start an ebay auction and end it to you early @ 275 only because of ebay fees.
if you dont mind, I'mgonna piggyback on your post as well, so any potential buyers: BUY HIS FIRST. I don't like competition lol.
same deal with me, but I'm going to remain loyal to android and probably get the new droid xtreme/shadow or droid 2 from motorola when they come out next month, so if you do want mine, you will have to wait until sometime in july.

Better of privately selling anyway. There are a lot of people out there looking for EVO's. I sold mine yesterday for $220. I placed an ad on Craigslist Friday night and had 3 people the next morning wanting to buy it that day.
Why anyone would want to trade it in and get robbed by BB, RS, or Sprint is beyond me. I can understand if the EVO was a hard device to sell, but there are so many people who are not eligible for upgrades and are willing to pay $200 or more for a used EVO.
So I am using my HTC Touch (Vogue) for a week. Damn I need my Android back! And yes I had Android running on this device but after owning the EVO it was unusable so I loaded back WM 6.5 which definitely runs faster on the Vogue .

Your right. You can get way more selling it on craigslist. I just hope I can find my old blackberry somewhere in the trash so I can connect it until Friday.

How many people actually had the g1?

How many people had the g1, and what's been your story since? I remember getting a hold of cupcake a little early and being amazed by the onscreen keyboard. Eventually, after a brick and repair, I went to the mytouch slide (after about a year and a half, maybe 2? with the g1.) The hardware seemed super quick at the time. However, rooting it was a pain in the Ass and as a result, development was dead! After like a year with cm7/sense I found a vibrant for 160$ on craigslist and I've been loving it since. I might think about getting the g2x, but as of right now I'm happy with bi-winning.

I was a G1 owner. It was great in it's day, but always felt like HTC underestimated the power needed to run Android. Biggest hassle was that the keyboard backlights on the Bronze model actually made it hard to read the text on the keys during the daylight. "Upgraded" to a MyTouch 3g, which wasn't any kind of upgrade at all. Then got the Vibrant, and haven't looked back.
I had a G1 early on and at the time the market was non-existent and apps were sparse. I liked the concept of it but the phone was unevenly weighted and the keyboard flipping out always felt like it was going to break. It wouldn't connect to Exchange so I sold it. I got a My Touch 3G Fender and eventually the Vibrant.
I totally agree @lotherius about the power and the keyboard. Fortunately, the sales rep pointed out that the bronze phone keyboard was almost impossible to see at times and we bought the other one. The MT3G wasn't a powerhouse either. It ran Cyanogen ok but the stock OS was lagging.
I had one about two months after they were released (played around with my mom's the first couple months of release then got mine). I used that until August 2010 and got a vibrant. I didn't root my g1 until after I got my vibrant cause I was scared of bricking, just ran official updates up to 1.6, once I rooted that I checked into rooting the vibrant and when I realized how much easier it was I did that and have been side. My wife took over my g1 and I took it back to stock for her. About a week ago I got her a MT3G slide, and she's loving that one now. I'm still using my vibrant and might even continue to until my contract is up next August. I even have my g1 back and get to play with it again.
I rocked the G1. Pained me to sell it.
Obviously, my nick name says that I am a G1 owner.
I had the G1 as a valentine gift on Feb 14th, 2009. My ex gave it to me before she left the US to go back to her hometown in Melbourne, Australia (heart break/sad). I used it and loved it until the Nexus one came out on Jan 05, 2010. I got the Nexus one for $500 without contract and used it for several month until the Vibrant came out on July 15, 2010. I sold my G1 on for $200 and the Nexus one for $500 on craigslist. I then enter a 2-year contract with T-mobile and got the Vibrant for $150 on wirefly.com. Since then, I have also tried the Nexus S and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" without contract, but re-sale them after a few months.
I liked the G1 a lot, but it was so primitive at that time. I did root and unlock it to use CM ROM. When the Nexus One came out with many improvements, I move up without hesitance. For the Vibrant, like many of you, I hate it for the GPS did not work well, and the issue of updating to Gingerbread. However, I am so please with what I have right now. It's a good phone, though. I think you must know how to use the best out of it, for your own good. A smart phone in a dumb hand is still a dump phone. I am planning to move up to the SGS II next month when I save enough money to buy it without contract. Just share some thought
I got one like 3 months after it was released for Christmas.
It was my second phone following the BB Pearl. It was amazing! The new OS astounded me, everything was amazing!
As soon as a Hero Port was released I flashed and was almost crying LOL.
Then CM3 was released and that was awesome as it was really fast!

I didn't have it, but I had something horrible the Motorola Cliq...then got the Mytouch Slide and go bumped up to the Vibrant. I'm in love with the phone. I really want a new phone like the Nexus One or something.

Today: NEW $48.88 FREE OVERNIGHT SHIP ~ Sam's Club

First, thanks to everyone for posting about the differences between the OG and the SR. Because of the 1.5 vs. 1.2, I assumed the SR was better. But after more research, and reading what all of you posted, I decided the obvious choice was the OG!
Anyway, so as a Premiere member of AT&T upgrading a 2nd line on a family plan, I could not find the OG as being available to me at all, not refurb at $10 nor new at $100. Got tired of waiting for AT&T to make it available to me, so I went to the Sam's Club website. I did check there yesterday, however, I don't remember seeing today's pricing of $48.88, I recall it being above $100. Anyway, I am not sure how long they would have this pricing, but the lady I spoke to did tell me that the free overnight FedEx shipping is today only. If you order it by 3 pm, it will ship today and FedEx does deliver on Good Friday, so you should get it tomorrow. Otherwise, you may need to wait until next week to receive it.
I don't know how the AT&T website looks on your end, but I tried going in as a new user on the AT&T website and the OG seems to be in limited availability, if even available at all, right now. I presume they are trying to force people to get the SR, but I don't know. This Sam's Club deal gives you another option. And, a BRAND NEW phone with full one-year warranty and free shipping all for $49 is a deal! I snagged one just a bit ago and I am SO excited.

I see it on premier on my end although it says out of stock and the price is $99 with 2-years. It looks like Sams has the better price.
Glad you're not still waiting for a 1¢ one... Are you planning on rooting and rom-ing?
I got mine last year at walmart for 99$ but got a 100$ gift card for buying it...

Good choice my man .
Had my i777 since the day they were released (paid $200 - a great deal even at that price), and my wife has been oggling it since it came out of the box. Her upgrade popped in as available today on AT&T's site when I paid the bill, so I went ahead and got one at this price! She's really excited to have the awesome powerhouse of a phone coming via overnight shipping. Thanks OP!

I wish I could have gotten it back when it was 1 penny! Contract renewal was not until April 1.
Yes, definitely rooting, have to use Titanium Backup to restore all of my data from my Crappie.... And, I am rather enjoying tethering my Rooted Crappie to my Toshiba Thrive Tablet... FOR FREE. I don't plan on installing a custom ROM, at least not at this time. Are there any benefits in doing so since this is already such a fantastic phone out of the box?

Root and flash CyanogenMod 9. Stock AT&T Gingerbread sucks (excessive battery drain issues)

Don't increment your flash counter, see this:

Best deal?

I'm just curious what is the best deal you've seen or gotten for the ONE; 32 and 64 GB versions? The best I've seen is costco with the accessories kit.
I swore off HTC back when I was flashing my hermes. Had nothing but problems with that phone and the one before it (can't remember what it was). BUT, I'm getting a ONE next week and am excited to be coming back to the company who introduced me to modding and smart phones.

I paid $148 for mine at Walmart, not sure how much you found it for at costco with the accessory kit.

You really should check craigslist. They keep popping on there and off again. I got a brand new one minus the headphones for $450. I've seen them on there for $550-600.
Free when I traded my GS3 in for an employee only HTC Champions program!

I paid $80 for mine from AT&T with a contract. Got a $120 rebate from trading in my crappy iPhone 4.
16 bucks and change, in exchange for my iPhone 4S. If that counts as the type of deal people are seeking here. It seems like I traded in a tin can and string compared to the ONE. What an amazing device this is. Beautiful and powerful. Great combination.
