[Reposting here] Looking To Sell My Ace - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hey all, I am looking to sell my Galaxy Ace, and get a higher end phone. I've not used ANY accessories, all sealed, and the charger as well (used another similar Samsung charger I already had). The phone is in mint condition, and the side wrappers aren't removed either. Never used it without a body case I bought with it. Any estimates as to what I could get for it? It's 3 months old.
PS. Sorry for the double posting. I did not notice I wasn't in the General Discussions area earlier.

Better post it in the marketplace
Pics would be appreciated

What could be the average price that's offered? I'm not necessarily looking to sell here. Will post there, once I am absolutely sure I want to sell!

Samsung phones are good.....but the resale price is low .
Forever living in my Galaxy Ace using XDA App

I got it for around Rs.14500. You reckon I'll get around Rs.8000? Or is it lower than that?

Post it on the proper section. XDA has its own section/forum dedicated to selling your device.

The Galaxy S3 is worth every penny I paid for it. It is also the most powerful phone on the market. It is a purchase that you won't regret.
The screen is hard to read in direct sunlight. The other issue I'm having is that it's hard to stop touching it.
I had an x10 way back about 3 years ago. That phone is like a motor scooter compared to this Ferrari.
The s2 is still an excellent choice if you want an upgrade while keeping costs down but bear in mind the s3 will last you longer before you need another upgrade.

You might also look at the Galaxy Nexus which Google sell for $350. It's only dual core, but it gets latest updates directly from Google, so unlike that Sony, even two years from now you will most likely get latest Android version.
However, if you want more storage space and a high quality camera, then the S3 is a better choice. It's going cheap on ebay also. The current retail price is more than I'm willing to pay because I'm not confident of its build quality.

Is the Galaxy S2 Still worth buying now?

Hey guys I need some advice. I am still wondering if the i9100 is still worth purchasing. I can get it brand new for 320 dollars here on Canada. While on the other hand, the galaxy S3 ranges from 500-600 dollars. Google doesn't even sell nexus devices in Canada yet? How future proof is the S2? Is the S3 really worth 200-300 more dollars? Thanks guys!
Bring the seller down to $300

Everything, literally, is different between them.
Presumably you've never compared them in use, or indeed on paper...
No. (You asked).
I've compared S3's screen with my current S2's one and i must say id much prefer the S3's :good:
The S2 has more in common hardware wise to the Gnex. So the answer to your question is yes it is still worth buying.

Im recieving my i9100 (after getting my i9100g replaced) on monday. Is it worth keeping the i9100 or should i sell it and buy the GS3?.
The market price of the i9100 in India at the moment is 27k and GS3 is 37k.
10k rupees = $181.
Also if i do sell my phone i can expect to sell it at 27k right since it will be brand new and the box sealed
in its price range Galaxy S2 is still among the best phone you can buy.
obviously S3 is much more advanced and all but its quite a bit costlier than S2and shouldn't be compared . Although personally i think S3 is way too big and single handed use of S3 is impossible .
Go for it. It's an awesome phone for the price. The s3 seems to have issues. Look at all of the people selling it already. The s2 just started being re sold commonly, because everyone liked it so well. Im keeping mine.
It's all a matter of personal preference and whether or not you actually NEED the S3 or if the S2 will suffice.
Do you need HD screen? Do you need quad core processing? Do you need NFC? blah blah blah
I still haven't bought an S3 because for now the S2 hasn't stopped me doing anything, It can play any game I throw at it, even high end games newly released, I can watch movies, surf the net, capture photos and videos and even make calls!!
For me the S2 is still an awesome and powerful phone (might I add MUCH nicer looking than the S3 also) and I think it will last me easily another 6 months, by then a phone even better than the S3 will be released
Ask yourself if you need to fork out the extra money and if the answer is yes, go for it!
Just buy the S3 or buy the S2 only if you can get it for around 200-250$, I recently bought one for 200$. Btw try to get the international S3 because the north american isn't worth it over the S2 it still lags a bit while the international one there's no lag because of the much stronger gpu.
Get it. I bought this i9000 galaxy s to replace my old gio which was really slow and had no development. Even this first gen galaxy s is totally future proof so I imagine that the s2 is even better.

I got the S2 3 weeks ago for free, I don't regret it. If you can get it for cheap, go for it, there is a lot if development made for it.

Still worth buying. Just bought my s2 to replace iphone 4 hehehe

can u tell n guide
how to get replacement thorough customer care ??
thx.....
Hi i guess it comes down to ur preferences. There are guys/gals who want to be on the edge of hi tech, and there are others who prefer good performance/price ratio.
S2 is a good phone, it probably has one or two years more market life.
Compare S2 eu/S3 eu:
faster camera
about %20 faster processor with quad and better batt consumption, about double pixel count
about %25 bigger screen,
about % 25 bigger battery,
Nfc support,
Wireless charging,
Much butter sound chip
u decide if it justifies double price
I'am using s2 and I'm not really planning to change yet. i hope prices will drop a bit, or a revised version with better spec and eu compatible

I bought my s2 two months ago...
I wanted a gnex but it was never officially launched in my country and warranty matters to me so i had to go for the next best phone as per my budget : s2

This thread has become pointless. There are already hundreds of 'Should I buy the SGS2' threads on here, and the person who asked the question hasn't even bothered to contribute to the thread since their OP. I'm asking for this nonsense to be closed.

[Q] Is the Samsung Galaxy s II I9100 still relevant?

Hey guys,
I'm new to this forum and I'm not sure whether I've posted in the correct section. Feel free to move this post if necessary. Thanks a lot moderators.
I'm currently using a Nokia 6120 Classic. I've decided to finally upgrade to a smartphone and had been eying the Samsung Galaxy SII for quite some time. I am aware that Samsung Galaxy SIV is rumored to be released next week, but I still like the built and design of the SII.
I'm still wondering whether the SII is relevant for the next few years, relevant in terms of software support (Support for future firmwares and apps) and hardware compatibility.
So what do you guys think?
1) Do we really require such massive processing power (quad-core or octa-core) in the future? Or does the dual-core of the SII suffice for at least 3 to 4 years down the road?
2) Should I get the SII (as the prices would have dropped following the release of SIV)? Or should I get the SIV or at least an SIII?
All comments are appreciated. Thanks a lot!!
P.S. I've read through similar topics in this section, but I just need some assurances at a time this close to the release of SIV.
If I'm going to upgrade, it's going to be a note 2.

I think with the help of custom ROMs we are able to almost smoothly stay up to date for the next few years in the terms of software for the s2. The s2 is still of course a high end device.

For me, it's the smaller form factor of the S2. I sold my iPhone 4s, but didn't go for the S3 due to the increased size. It didn't feel as comfortable in my hand.
Had this kid at the shops say "nice phone if there wasn't cctv here I'd tax that.! Must still be good. lol

Get the SII plus, cheap & will update to 5.0.

Still a great phone. I keep switching back to this phone from my GS3 every few days because I love the form factor and weight. The rectangular shape fits well in my hand... I just can't stand the rounded body of the S3.
And the camera is still awesome. If you're one of the lucky ones with the Sony module then you'll love it even more.

1. Depends on what you need your phone for. Higher processing power of more cores can come in handy if your into gaming or use memory intensive apps. But remember that higher the processing power, the more it taxes the battery!
I use a GS2. Coupled with custom JB and some tweaking, it feels super fast and smooth even now, and possibly for a year more or two.
2. Get the phone that suits your needs and fits in your budget. S2, S3 and probably S4 are all great phones!

Thanks for the comments. I'm quite convinced that the SII is still and will still be a really good phone.
I would watch the event this Thursday for the SIV and then decide which phone to buy. Given my budget, I would still consider the SII
Thanks!

InkCase+ an E-Ink Screen

Hei guys,
I found this interesting thing on Kickstarter:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/378232716/inkcase-plus-e-ink-screen-for-android-phone
It's a 3.5" 360x600 pixel E-Ink display thats 5mm thick and has a 500mAh battery which should reach *up to* 19 Hours.
If we Vote on their Facebook page (just comment the Status where its says Vote) they might even make a case for the Xperia Z2

Usefull / Useless?
What do you think?
Doubles the thickness of the phone. No thank you.

I'm not backing anything on Kickstarter to do with Android accessories any more, got burned by this prick:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/859748664/snappgrip-full-control-of-your-phones-camera-with
Promised us an S3 case, he released the iPhone version (about a year and a half late), all the S3 owners upgraded so it's no use anymore, and he is ignoring refunds and questions about the S3 version.

Sorry you lost your money, but it looks like an idiotic product anyway. Double the size of your phone with an ugly case, then carry around a honking-great handgrip as well? No thanks -- if you're going to add all that bulk, you might as well just carry a real camera.
I know, I wanted to show there was support for android accessories seeing as they were almost always for the iPhone only, plus I wanted it for a tripod mount for time lapse photography.

Maybe a little balance?

Hi, For those who have waited and received a defective device my heart goes out to you. Its hell when this happens especially to a techno junkie I have been there (Think Asus transformer Prime, or maybe its better we don't )
Wanted to write a thread to sort of balance things out a little here. I noticed one post where the poster was questioning if he was going to buy this mobile due to the negative postings here.
I have been a severe critic of Samsung from day one. Over the years I have purchased possibly two dozen Samsung mobiles for my family and self, the last one for me was the Note 3. I got so tired of plastic being made to look like alloy or leather it reached a point where Samsung surpassed being tacky and into the realms of bizarre. Now this is fine for a base line day to day mobile selling at 25.00€ BUT for mobiles costing near 700.00€ I voted with my cash and jumped ship to Sony with the Xperia Z selection and I may rapidly add they are absolutely wonderful mobile phones made from quality materials that justify the price.
Early this year I bought..........shhhhh.........an iPhone 6 and that is simply a stunning mobile too.
When the Galaxy S 6 edge was announced I simply had to have one and see if by any miracle Samsung had at LONG LAST started to manufacture a mobile worthy of the price and title flag ship model.
Of course opinions are very personal and need to be understood, tolerated and respected. For me, I am delighted with my new Edge even though I have arranged an appointment with a psychiatrist next week to have a full check up seeing as I have just willingly spent 1100€ on a mobile phone, covers and screen saver :silly:
So far I can but thank Samsung for making a complete 180 change in direction by designing a mobile that is not only technically stunning but built to such a high standard using quality alloys and glass. Regardless of what the future brings for Samsung this S6 is what the S3 should have been. Better late than never though. To think of the flack I have taken on this very site in criticising Samsung for producing fair ground quality mobiles retailing at RR prices. We now have a new era with the S6.
Take a look at the device objectively it really is incredible.............I cant believe its a Sammy :fingers-crossed:
I hope we all manage to enjoy the device.
